Chapter 1049: The 300-mu Mulan Village!

"This morning, Lin Dao Nan and Liu Yifei, together with more than a dozen accompanying staff, appeared at Capital Airport with a large number of suitcases; the group is suspected to have set off to join the *Mulan* crew..."

"Lin Nan Pictures' official website and official Weibo released a project announcement: The commercial film *The Captain*, adapted from the Sichuan Airlines emergency landing incident, was officially established today and started casting;

The film is jointly produced by Lin Nan Pictures, Enlight, Wanda, Shanghai Film Group, and Xi'an Film Group, with technical support provided by Sichuan Airlines, directed by Director Li Yang, with a total investment budget of 300 million RMB, and is planned to land in national cinemas next year."

"Director Jia Zhangke's film *Ash Is Purest White* was released on the first day, with a box office of 13.25 million, the highest first-day box office record since he started his career as a film director.

Produced by Enlight, adapted from Guo Jingming's novel of the same name, the youth film *Cry Me a Sad River* had a first-day box office that was not as good as *Ash Is Purest White*, only reporting 12.77 million.

But according to many senior practitioners in the industry, because the target audience of the film is different, the daily box office of the former will definitely increase sharply starting today, that is, Saturday..."

"*The Captain*, Shanghai Film Group, Xi'an Film Group!"

Chairman La only muttered a word softly, then immediately threw away the disgusting emotion in his heart, and looked at Stephen Chow, business is important:

"Are you saying that all the casting for *The New King of Comedy* has been completely decided? Are you sure you won't change your mind again?"

"It has all been finalized, no changes. According to the character settings, they are all ordinary-looking." Stephen Chow rarely joked, and then signaled his assistant to hand the personnel information to Chairman La's secretary.

A moment later, Chairman La flipped through the "resumes" of the actors.

"Wang Baoqiang, E Jingwen, Zhang Quandan, the three leads are really 'ordinary-looking'. Jing Ruyang? Tian Qiwu... newcomers and old people of Starry."

Chairman La looked up at Stephen Chow again, and said with a playful tone: "Except for Wang Baoqiang, the others are all small actors, all below the third line... Director Zhou's own salary is getting higher and higher!"

"Chairman La, I have always paid taxes according to the rules. Moreover, some consumption in the crew during filming is always unavoidable." Hearing this, Stephen Chow laughed to himself and did not respond directly to Chairman La's sarcasm.

It was also in an instant that Chairman La remembered the price of the "straw hat" of Peter Chan. He no longer delved into this issue, but asked about the adjustment of filming matters: "It was said before that it would start filming in early October, does it mean it will be advanced to the end of the month now?"

"That's right. Start filming on the last day of September, I will strive to wrap up before the end of October."

As Stephen Chow's voice fell, except for Chairman La, the other executives of China Film Group were a bit shocked.

This is definitely the film that Stephen Chow has used the shortest time in so many years, and it has a style of Wong Jing's style of filming bad films back then.

"Okay, then start filming on the 30th." After a pause, Chairman La nodded.

Half an hour later, Stephen Chow left the Chairman's office with people. At this time, someone among the executives stood up and spoke:

"Chairman La, he shot a commercial film in one month, and it is the kind that does not require actors to stay in the crew all the time, what is the difference between this and the style of Wong Jing filming bad films?

I'm afraid he won't shout NG or cut at all during filming? It's even highly likely that all shots and scenes are done in one take, just going through the motions!"

"Commercial films, after all, speak with the box office. As a sequel to his classic IP, do you think it will lose money? Not to mention how explosive the box office is, at least earning double should be possible, right?"

Chairman La did not answer the management's words, but a rhetorical question directly rendered them speechless.

"But you also saw the actors he chose, except for Wang Baoqiang, they are all small fries. With this grass-roots team, he actually gave a production cost of nearly 80 million and a promotion budget of nearly 40 million, his appetite is too big!"

"Aren't Hong Kong directors all like this? What's more, Stephen Chow is also famous for loving money. Of course, isn't all the negative reputation of the film also carried by him?"

Chairman La said this, and several executives stopped refuting, because what the former said was all correct.

"But I am still not optimistic about putting these two films in the Spring Festival slot. After all, that is Lin Dao Nan, what if he is pressed by one and two, or even completely stepped on..."

"Don't say such things, it's a pity you are still a veteran, are you destroying your own prestige by growing others' ambition?"

The sky is very blue, blue and blue, giving people a standard, fairy-tale sky blue;

The sky is very big, and people look infinitely small against it, making people indulge and dizzy in it.

More than a dozen off-road vehicles galloped on the road, heading towards "Mulan Village"; and each car basically had the sunroof fully open, with figures standing, cheering and jumping.

Liu Yifei was in the front car, Lin Nan was in the back car, the two were facing each other, separated by only eight or nine meters steadily, so they could see each other clearly.

The former waved her hat and cleared her throat loudly, the latter pulled his throat and learned to howl like a wolf... When they arrived here, it seemed that the whole person was different, the mood was comfortable, and they were happy to the point of madness.

"Lin Nan, look at the sun, it's different from the direction of the capital!" Liu Yifei shouted hard with her hands in the shape of a trumpet in front of her mouth.

"Liu Xixi, have you seen the sunset at 10 PM?" Lin Nan also shouted with a smile.

"Okay, I'm stupid, I didn't react! Hahaha..."

When the big director Lin and Producer Liu were "talking" on the road against the wind of the car speed, at "Mulan Village", Guo Fan was answering the phone call from Jackie Chan's assistant.

"Also arriving on the 25th? Okay, I know, then see you on the 25th. Say hello to Big Brother for me, goodbye."

After hanging up the phone, Guo Fan stretched out his hand to his assistant rather tiredly, and a bottle of vitamin drink was handed over instantly.

"Guo Dao, this village village covering 300 mu is truly amazing. This was done in half a year, I have been here for a week, and I still feel shocked."

"300 mu is not all building houses, aren't there many open-air places? Streets, four markets in the east, west, south, and north... these are more time-saving and labor-saving.

Besides, building a village and town according to the customs of the Northern Wei Dynasty, do you think it is very laborious? At most, you need to pay attention to many details in following historical and cultural elements during construction, which is also the most time-consuming.

Of course, with the design drawings there, it didn't affect the speed much. It's not building the Xiangyang Tang City Film and Television Base, 5 or 6 years of meticulous carving 6000 mu..."

Sighing and sighing, Guo Fan suddenly thought of an interesting thing and joked:

"When Director Nolan shot *Interstellar*, he planted 500 mu of corn and sold a lot of money. Director Chen participated in so many film and television city projects and occupied many shares, which is also a long stream of water, and he has a lot of income every year.

They are all not losing money, they are earning! But how come it is our Lin Dao, the 300 mu village built for *Mulan*, has to be donated for free? Hey, tsk tsk tsk, forget it, forget it, anyway, it is generous to Disney, leaving Lin Dao's own name, hahaha..."

"Guo Dao, you are afraid that you have forgotten one thing, right?" At this time, teasing voices sounded from the side.

"What?"

"The soldiers of the army don't need salary, just provide food. So Lin Dao promised to donate this 'Mulan Village' to the local area as a foundation for the development of the film and television city without hesitation from the beginning. Because the local area has made great efforts in other aspects..." People from Xi'an Film Group stopped beside Guo Fan.

"Don't misunderstand, I know this thing. Isn't this joking?" Guo Fan explained with a smile.

"Guo Dao, Lin Dao and Producer Liu are almost here." A staff member ran over quickly.

"How much longer?"

"At most half an hour."

"Then order logistics, eat in 45 minutes. By the way, look at the kind of roast whole lamb I want? Lin Dao likes this." Guo Fan ordered decisively.

"Understood."
