Chapter 193

"*Passengers* has a total investment of 250 million and is jointly produced by Lin Nan Film Industry, China Film Group, Aerospace Science and Industry, Wanda Cinemas, and Enlight!"

"Is this officially approved now?!"

"What about the director and cast?"

…………

Although the summer vacation starts at the end of June, in the film circle, July is the true beginning of the summer release slot.

*Painted Skin 2* had the foundation of the first one, and this time the promotion was done to the extreme.

Judging from the feedback on the internet, everyone's willingness to watch the film is very high.

"Before the end of July, can he wrap up filming and come back?"

Lin Nan looked at Yue Jun and asked.

In this movie, there weren't many roles to begin with. Liu Dehua was chosen as the male lead, and Zhou Xun was given the female lead, so the supporting roles should be filled with his own people as much as possible.

Lei Jiayin looks a bit mature; letting him play the robot bartender should barely work, just consider it as the two leads carrying him...

"I've asked; there's no problem."

"Then it's decided; go and notify them."

"Okay."

After Yue Jun left, Lin Nan thought of the last role with not much screen time: the spaceship's deck supervisor.

"Should I try Liang Jiahui? His acting skills and aura should be able to suppress Brother Hua, and his age is also appropriate..."

…………

*Painted Skin 2* has been officially released.

At the same time, it was also released simultaneously in Southeast Asian regions such as Japan, South Korea, and Singapore.

The entire film and television circle is paying attention to this movie; its uncertainty is too high.

It is clearly a hot series, but it was handed over to an unknown director, yet the film's production cost, cast, and special effects are all top-notch.

For a time, it was difficult for the industry to predict the box office of *Painted Skin 2*, and they could only wait for the first-day results.

Among the several producers, except for Lin Nan, the other four were very nervous.

Although they had already seen the finished film at the premiere, everyone was still very worried about whether the audience would believe in Director Wu Ershan.

On the morning of the 2nd, Lin Nan slept very soundly.

His phone had been turned off by him last night, and during the day yesterday, he didn't pay attention to the reviews on the internet.

The moment he turned it on, various text messages flooded in, all reminding him who had called at what time.

"Let me see what the first-day box office is."

The moment he opened the portal website, Lin Nan saw the top news.

"Directed by new director Director Wu Ershan, *Painted Skin 2* first-day box office reported at 36.2 million!"

"*Painted Skin 2* first-day box office explodes, the highest for a domestic film in the last six months of this year."

……

The first-day box office data of *Painted Skin 2* caused an uproar in the circle.

If the subsequent daily box office doesn't collapse, then Director Wu Ershan will be another director in the hundreds-of-millions box office club.

In the eyes of many directors in the industry, Director Wu Ershan is too lucky.

This is purely because Lin Nan laid a good foundation for him, which allowed him to go so far; if it were them, they could do it too!

A group of main cast members posted on Weibo one after another to celebrate the first-day box office success.

Some are happy, some are sad.

By the last day of June, *Beginning of the Great Revival* had been released for just 15 days, and its box office had just happened to break through to 300 million.

"Han Dong, yesterday's daily box office for *Beginning of the Great Revival* was cut in half..."

Han Sanping, who was still laughing heartily because of the first-day results of *Painted Skin 2*, saw the smile on his face collapse instantly upon hearing this from his secretary.

"Cut in half?"

"Yes, according to news from our distribution company, it is still falling continuously.

Of course, other movies are even worse. The daily box office of *Treasure Inn* has even dropped by more than 70%..."

Han Sanping didn't know whether to laugh or cry for a while, and felt very depressed. He could only comfort himself with the 3-month release period.

There are many happy people; Wanda, Western Film Group, and Ningxia Film Group are all very excited.

This data clearly shows that they are going to make a fortune!

"Haha, gritting my teeth and following along at the beginning was definitely the right choice."

People from Western Film Group and Ningxia Film Group have similar thoughts.

Although they don't have as much money as Shanghai Film Group, they were decisive and firmly trusted Lin Nan, which has now brought good results.

One side is excited and thrilled, while the other side is different.

There are many production companies in the circle that have already started to ridicule.

"Shanghai Film Group and Enlight didn't co-invest at the beginning; they must be regretting it so much now, right?"

"Anyway, if it were me, I would definitely regret it to death."

Wang Changtian prides himself on having a good mentality, but he is also a bit bitter now, though only a bit.

"Sigh, this is a lesson! When there's a profitable project calling you, you end up having no capital in hand..."

Shanghai Film Group.

At the summary meeting for the first half of the year, the matter of *Painted Skin 2* was brought up.

Ren Zhonglun's face was gloomy the whole time; the fact that he refused to co-invest because he didn't favor this project had already spread.

Compared to Western Film Group and Ningxia Film Group gritting their teeth and working with Lin Nan, Shanghai Film Group has completely become a joke in the industry this time.

…………

*Wu Xia* held its premiere press conference in the capital.

Peter Chan, Donnie Yen, Takeshi Kaneshiro, Kara Wai, Tang Wei, and other main cast members were asked the most questions about the newly released *Painted Skin 2*.

"Director Chan, the investment cost of *Wu Xia* is higher than *Painted Skin 2*; are you confident in defeating them at the box office?"

"Director Peter Chan is a veteran big director, and the leads are international big names like Donnie Yen and Takeshi Kaneshiro; we have absolute confidence and certainty..."

The person in charge of StarMe stated first.

"Based on the first-day results of *Painted Skin 2*, its total box office is highly likely to exceed 500 million; what about *Wu Xia*?"

"Guaranteed 500 million, sprinting for 700 million..."

Peter Chan barely managed to show a smile and answered the reporter's question.

…………

Lin Nan hung up the phone; the matter with Liang Jiahui was settled.

Up to now, all the main actors for *Passengers* are all set.

As for those making cameo appearances, they are very easy to solve.

Lin Nan is confident that with his influence, he can easily find many first-line actors to make cameo appearances.

But he can't just use celebrity cameos; people of various professions and different age groups must be included, after all, it's a nationwide interstellar migration.

The next day, the box office of *Painted Skin 2* was reported at 42 million.

This is the summer release slot, and *Painted Skin 2* is just right for this slot.

The audience's evaluation of this movie is very good; actors, plot, color, special effects, there are almost no flaws.

"36.2 million on the first day, 42 million on the second day, the reviews are basically all satisfied; this movie is a success..."

Production companies in the circle have already started to estimate the box office of *Painted Skin 2*.

"As long as it doesn't collapse, 500 million is no problem, 600 million has a high probability; as for higher, we'll have to wait and see..."

…………

Lin Nan saw the latest daily box office of *Beginning of the Great Revival*.

The daily revenue of over 4 million has indeed dropped too severely.

Many cinema chains have already started to reduce the number of screenings; anyway, there are still seventy-some days left in the release period.

The daily box office of Wong Jing's *Treasure Inn* has also been squeezed down to over 1 million.

Previously, there was a possibility of sprinting to 100 million, but now there is really no hope.

In the film market, *Painted Skin 2* is the only one dominating.

The main cast members led by Director Wu Ershan have all become the targets of media interviews.

Zhou Xun, Huang Xiaoming, Zeng Li, Zhu Yawen... Xie Nan.

Even Yang Mi, who returned to the crew of *The Last Supper*, had reporters go to visit the set for interviews.

Zhou Xun's personality is carefree; Lin Nan didn't say to keep it confidential, so she didn't care.

"Lin Dao's new movie *Passengers*, has it already sent you an invitation?"

"Hehe, that's right. I will play the female lead in this movie."

…………

The media reported it quickly; the first lead actor for *Passengers* was confirmed.

But when asked this question, Huang Xiaoming shook his head.

"It's not me; next month I'm joining the crew of *The Guillotines*, so I'll miss *Passengers*."

…………

Just at this time, the Film Bureau publicized the latest batch of film filing information that received shooting permits.

The media and the film and television circle paid attention to it immediately.

"Film: *Passengers*, sci-fi romance.

Producers: Lin Nan Film Industry, China Film Group, Wanda, Aerospace Science and Industry, Enlight;

Director: Lin Nan;

Producer: Liu Yifei;

Executive Producer: Han Sanping;

Main actors: Liu Dehua, Zhou Xun, Lei Jiayin, Liang Jiahui, Dilraba."

*Passengers*, which the film circle had been curious about and looking forward to for so long, finally had news.

"Directed by Lin Nan himself, produced by Liu Yifei, executive produced by Han Dong of China Film Group. What a powerful cast!"

"The cast is also not small; two Best Actors, one Best Actress!"

"By the way, who is this Dilraba?"

"To the person above, that's a newcomer signed by Shanhai Media at the Shanghai Theatre Academy last year..."

With the disclosure of the film information, the huge main cast instantly became the focus of heated discussion in the film and entertainment circle and on the internet.

Especially this newcomer, Dilraba.

The newcomer contract of Shanhai Media was once again taken out for discussion in the industry.

No announcements in the first year, acting contracts in the second year, but the artist can refuse depending on the situation, and obey arrangements starting from the third year...

Getting into Lin Nan's movie directly in the second year, which newcomer would refuse this? You'd have to be crazy to refuse!

Shanghai Theatre Academy.

During the summer vacation, Dilraba chose not to leave school; she hoped to learn more before joining the crew.

From the moment the news about *Passengers* was announced in the morning, she had been constantly disturbed.

Many classmates who hadn't left school came to congratulate her, and even her counselor specifically called her, saying she could fill out the form directly when asking for leave.

"Dilraba, when you become famous, you must take care of us."

"Yeah, yeah. This is Lin Dao's movie, produced by Liu Yifei, executive produced by the Chairman of China Film Group, starring Liu Dehua and Zhou Xun..."

Dilraba could only smile and deal with everyone; her mood at this moment was also anxious and nervous.

Before, she only knew that she would play a supporting role in Lin Dao Nan's movie.

But she never thought the crew's cast would be so big, and that she would have to act with top stars like Liu Dehua, Zhou Xun, and Liang Jiahui.

…………

*Xuan-Yuan Sword* crew.

Nazha, wearing ancient costumes, was a bit distracted; today everyone in the crew was discussing that *Passengers* movie, and that newcomer from Shanhai Media.

Making a debut as a supporting role in such a 250 million investment blockbuster, this kind of treatment made many people in the crew incredibly envious.

"Don't be distracted; filming is about to start."

Hu Ge shook his head slightly and shouted.

He could see that the girl in front of him was lost, regretting the choice she made at the beginning.

But reality is like this; there is never any regret medicine.

Including him, he actually wasn't very willing to come back and film this kind of TV series either...
