Chapter 389: The Female Lead

"This film is controlled by Warner, it's a story about the earth moving towards withering in the future world, astronauts looking for a new home through a wormhole, and the method is to achieve interstellar leap through a space wormhole."

In the coffee shop, Nolan talked about this film that was being prepared, appearing radiant.

"Sorry, Lin. I can only say so much, the script is confidential, but it's truly wonderful. Full of time travel's fate paradoxes and causal loops."

Lin Nan smiled and nodded, "Of course, this kind of project must be confidential."

"Let's talk about the question he is more concerned about, haha..." Leonardo teased on the side.

"Yes, Director Christopher, what do you think of my idea? I know there must be female characters in it."

Lin Nan didn't hide it either, and asked it out directly.

"There are two female characters, and both are very important. One is the male lead's daughter, who has three periods, childhood, adulthood, old age;

The other is the male lead's colleague, also equivalent to the female lead, set as an old professor's daughter, but..."

Nolan's words stopped halfway, and he looked at the two people beside him.

Although sci-fi films don't have high requirements for acting skills, skin color is a problem.

Lin Nan and Little Leo also realized this point.

"The professor's daughter character can be changed. The biological daughter can be changed to an adopted daughter, so it's very equal in the film, and it can avoid many realistic problems."

Leonardo drank coffee and snatched Lin Nan's words.

Just for this assist, Lin Nan decisively gave Little Leo a thumbs up.

Nolan nodded lightly and looked at Lin Nan:

"It can indeed be like this, but I can't give you a definite answer right now. Lin, come to Warner tomorrow, I happen to be auditioning too."

"I can't ask for more." Lin Nan agreed immediately.

He could tell that Nolan would give him this favor.

And on the Warner side, Lin Nan had to go there; it would likely just be a formality, but this is the minimum respect, which cannot be less.

Tonight's small gathering had a very good atmosphere, and Nolan talked more.

"The film's name has already been set, it's called *Interstellar*. And its production budget is about the same as *Inception*, around 170 million US dollars."

Hearing this name, Lin Nan felt completely at ease in his heart.

A Hollywood A-level big-production sci-fi film!

Tomorrow's trip to Warner, Lin Nan is bound to win.

Every time Lin Nan flies to Hollywood, he becomes the focus of domestic media attention, and this time is no exception.

"Hollywood time evening, Lin Dao Nan participated in a banquet party with Director Nolan and Leonardo, and then gathered at a coffee shop."

"Lin Dao Nan's Hollywood trip this time does not rule out work other than *The Invisible Guest*..."

The eyes of the domestic film circle were instantly attracted.

If it were someone else, it might really just be a gathering and chat between friends, although the status of these friends is outrageously big.

But Lin Nan is different; this guy has always been able to make things happen, and from time to time he shocks everyone.

Lin Nan felt it was very interesting to lie in bed and talk on the phone with Liu Yifei.

Only Miss Liu's schedule can ignore the time difference, giving people the feeling that she and Lin Nan are talking on the phone before going to bed.

Lin Nan was sleepy to death, while Miss Liu hadn't woken up; the two talked on the phone stammeringly, and finally both fell asleep.

Early in the morning, Lin Nan started washing up, and after breakfast, he took the assistant directly to Warner.

*Interstellar* is an invitation-based audition, not an open audition, and the confidentiality work is done quite well.

But I guess it won't be confidential for a few days, because casting is already underway, and it should be announced in the next few days.

"Lin, welcome to Warner."

Lin Nan has cooperated with Warner on two big films, one is *Inception*, and the other is *Pacific Rim*.

That's why he was confident that coming today was just a formality.

"Thank you, long time no see."

Lin Nan hugged the middle-aged man with a beard in front of him, who was also the person in charge of Warner for *Pacific Rim* back then.

"Nolan is auditioning on the sixth floor, shall I take you there?"

"Okay." Lin Nan nodded.

"Lin, Nolan said you want the female lead of *Interstellar*?"

In the elevator, the other party smiled and suddenly said.

Lin Nan didn't deny it, "Yes, I don't know what Warner thinks?"

"Of course no problem, we are partners."

The other party said firmly, giving Lin Nan a feeling of "buying a horse bone with a thousand gold," as if the role was completely a small matter.

"Thank you."

Lin Nan thanked him very simply. It seems Nolan had already communicated with Warner before.

Sixth floor.

Quite a few actors noticed the Warner producer and Lin Nan walking over.

"Lin?"

"Jessica!"

Seeing Jessica Chastain here, Lin Nan was not surprised at all.

After all, this is Nolan's new film, and actors with some fame wouldn't refuse.

In Hollywood, Christopher Nolan's films represent box office.

He is the most outstanding director in Hollywood who can perfectly combine commercial elements and artistic elements.

"I'm here to audition, you are?"

"Auditioning you all. Haha, just kidding, Director Nolan invited me over."

Lin Nan joked, and saw the expressions of Jessica and quite a few actors around instantly relax.

"I'll go in first, see you in a while."

"Okay, Lin."

In a small conference room, only Nolan and his assistant were sitting, plus an actress who was auditioning.

In less than five minutes, it ended inside.

The person walking towards him crossed paths with Lin Nan.

"Lin, hello."

"Hello, Anne."

Lin Nan walked in, and Nolan also paused the audition.

"Let crystal be ready to join the crew at any time, my five hundred acres of corn will be fully mature in three months, before maturity, it must start filming."

Nolan looked at Lin Nan who walked in and joked.

"No problem."

"If it weren't for crystal, then this role would be given to Anne who just went out.

In addition, Leo's suggestion is very great, changing this role to an adopted daughter in the script, choosing Asian, very perfect!"

Without waiting for Lin Nan to speak, Nolan continued to add: "Can you decide her salary?"

"Can."

"Then let's make it 5 million dollars."

When Nolan said this, he also looked at the producer who came in with Lin Nan, who spread his hands: "Very reasonable."

This salary was Liu Yifei's foreign-language film quote after *Bad Genius* was released last year.

Without delaying for a few minutes, the audition continued.

Lin Nan's words came true, he was really pulled by Nolan to help.

But Lin Dao, who had just obtained the role for Miss Liu, was not angry at all, and his mood was quite good.

"I think Jessica is quite good."

Under Jessica Chastain's astonished gaze, Lin Nan said with a smile. Nolan also nodded without refuting.

This stay lasted for two days, Nolan's audition was still continuing, but Lin Nan had to prepare to return to the country.

At this time, Warner finally announced the *Interstellar* project to the outside world.

Lin Nan hadn't boarded the plane back to the country, and it had already spread in the country.

"Hollywood film giant, Warner Bros. officially announced: Director Christopher Nolan's new film *Interstellar* is officially launched, casting is underway, and it will start filming within the year."

"It is reported that *Interstellar* has an investment as high as 170 million US dollars, is completely based on the physicist's black hole theory, and is a top Hollywood sci-fi blockbuster."

The domestic film and television circle watched this news coming from across the ocean.

The film production industry could only sigh, can't play with this.

An investment of 160 million, 170 million US dollars, converted, that's 1 billion RMB!

There are only 3 domestic films with over 1 billion box office, ask who in the country can afford to play?

Countless actors paid attention to this information, but there was no too much emotion; after all, it was too far away, and everyone had no share.

But coincidentally, another piece of news was also passed back.

"Hollywood Film News: Chinese Golden Lion Lin Dao Nan, entered Warner Bros. for two days, assisted Director Nolan, participated in casting auditions..."

This news made the film circle explode instantly.

A large number of film people had only one thought in their minds: knew that this guy Lin Nan wouldn't run over there for nothing!

The film and television circle had already started arguing, incomparably lively.

"Lin Dao Nan participated in casting? Is there any chance for domestic actors?"

"Looking at the news, there is no Lin Dao in the investors, he should just be going to join in the fun and help, right?"

"Yifei, Producer Liu, what did your Lin Dao go to do?"

Actors and artists familiar in the circle all tagged Miss Liu on Weibo.

Quite a few people also sent text messages to tease, asking Miss Liu to give some inside information in advance.

Liu Yifei was also very confused at this moment.

She posted a Weibo: "He just said it was about *The Invisible Guest*, didn't say anything else."

Zhou Xun was in the crew and wanted to join in the fun, tagging Liu Yifei:

"Quick, find your Lin Nan, let him ask for a role for sister, it's a 170 million dollar big production."

"Sister Xun, forget it. If there is a female role, it's also for Yifei." Huang Xiaoming was in the *The Crossing* crew holding his phone, laughing.

"Phone turned off, text message not returned, he should be on the plane right now."

Production companies in the circle were all inquiring about the news; when they learned that this *Interstellar* was indeed unrelated to Lin Nan, everyone was relieved.

They were just afraid that Lin Nan would quietly produce another *Inception* or *Pacific Rim*, then there would really be no way for everyone to survive.

It's just that China Film Group, Enlight Media, Wanda, and even a few companies in Shanghai felt a bit regretful.

The eyes of countless people in the film and television circle focused on Lin Nan, just wanting to know if Lin Nan brought back any "things."

Liu Yifei curled up at home, feeling like a cat was scratching in her heart; so many people were inquiring about herself, but Lin Nan couldn't be contacted at all.

Suddenly, she thought of one thing.

"Gift? He said if it goes well, he will bring me a gift? What gift, and it has to go well to be brought back?"

Liu Yifei's eyes became brighter and brighter, and the next second she became a bit arrogant: "Humph, still playing riddles with me, wait until you come back, you're dead..."

"*Interstellar*, 170 million US dollars..."

Many actors' minds were still lingering on this film information reported by the media.

It would be fine if there wasn't that news about Lin Nan, but that news made countless actors unable to calm down.

Maybe? If? What if?

In the eyes of many people, Lin Nan has a girlfriend, and it might have even reached the point of talking about marriage.

If there is a suitable role, he will definitely fight for Liu Yifei! Will there be a little more?

"Why think so much, among the post-85 actresses, she is the only one.

Even if Lin Dao brought back a role, it would be for Liu Yifei or other actors in Lin Nan Film Industry."

All the actresses who held a glimmer of expectation, especially the first-tier flowers, were hit by similar words.
