Chapter 535: Audition Finals, Zhou Xingchi's War

"Adapted from the online novel of the same name, starring Tang Yan and Zhong Hanliang, the TV series *My Sunshine* officially wrapped up today."

"It is reported that the film version of *My Sunshine* has entered script production and will be prepared soon."

"The large-scale outdoor reality show *Running Man* will officially 'start running' from October 10th..."

Lin Nan looked at Liu Yifei and asked again: "Really not coming with me?"

"Not going, what's good about auditions."

Miss Liu, holding a small black cat in her arms, refused quite decisively.

Even that cat meowed at Lin Nan, as if urging him to leave quickly.

"Alright then, I'm leaving?"

"Hmm, come back early."

Liu Yifei waved her hand, holding her phone and continuing to chat with Shu Chang.

Lin Nan had previously promised Zhou Xingchi that he would go to the scene to watch the final stage of *The Mermaid* auditions, which was also helping to stand on stage for promotion.

At this moment, he was about to set off. In addition, the two big bosses from China Film Group and Shanghai Film Group would also show up.

Because the investment in *The Mermaid* was indeed a rare large production in the country in recent years, as the state-owned enterprise producing it, it had to be taken seriously.

China Film Group.

"Chairman Ren, Director Zhou Xingchi's side refused. *The Mermaid* will still use Zhang Yuqi."

"Hmm, I know. Let's go, catch the flight. Did they say how many are advancing?" Ren Zhonglun asked.

"13 into 6, the final 6 new actresses will all stay, one will be chosen as the lead, and the other 5 will play small supporting roles."

When the secretary said this, there was a hesitant look.

Who was Ren Zhonglun? How could he not see it?

"What happened?"

"Chairman Ren, it seems to be chaotic outside. In the Hong Kong circle, the Xiang family is taking the lead and starting to shout for Zhou Xingchi's head again.

Many Hong Kong stars are gathering to respond, following behind to denounce him, and there are also those standing on Zhou Xingchi's side... will this affect *The Mermaid*'s audition finals and filming?"

Hearing this, Ren Zhonglun's face immediately darkened.

When Han Sanping invested in *CJ7*, there was no such thing! Why, now that it was his turn to be in charge, were they putting eye drops on him?

However, Ren Zhonglun didn't say anything immediately; after all, Zhou Xingchi hadn't spoken up.

"Let's go, let's go to Pengcheng first."

On the other side, Hong Kong, Emperor Group headquarters.

Yang Shoucheng sat in the large office, like a tiger in a tomb; although he was getting on in years, he still gave people full pressure.

He had received a call from Lin Nan a few days ago, and his mood had been very good these past few days.

What is a favor?

A favor is when you have something and take the initiative to find me for help, and even if it's difficult, I agree immediately—that's earning a favor! Of course, the premise is that you must also be in a high position!

Since Lin Nan had spoken, Yang Shoucheng would naturally agree, because the former's favor was truly valuable.

"Huo Wenxi, I'll leave this matter to you to keep an eye on. Get it done as quickly as possible, all at once. If any procedures or documents are missing, just use the group's name to open them."

"Hmm, okay, Yang Dong. It's really not easy to get Lin Dao to speak up." Huo Wenxi smiled softly.

"Hahaha, that's right. This favor of his is worth at least three or four films.

I remember that time I hosted him, I was still thinking of introducing Bai Bing to him. I remember he seemed to have said, 'Yang Dong, I have someone I like.'

At the time, we thought he wasn't satisfied, but now it seems he was very sincere when he said that! Haha..."

Huo Wenxi nodded in agreement; it was indeed so. The next second, she thought of another thing:

"Yang Dong, they are besieging Zhou Xingchi again. Master Xiang's wife hasn't stopped on Weibo..."

Yang Shoucheng replied expressionlessly: "It has nothing to do with us... hmm, is Xingzai making a film recently?"

"Yes, *The Mermaid* is auditioning for the female lead. Have you forgotten? This film is co-invested by China Film Group, Shanghai Film Group, and Lin Nan Film Industry!"

At this moment, Yang Shoucheng reacted instantly, his expression very playful, his tone teasing:

"This is interesting, hehe."

When Lin Nan arrived in Pengcheng with his assistant, it was already past three in the afternoon.

Stay for one night, and tomorrow morning, just in time to go to *The Mermaid*'s audition finals scene.

He had also seen the news on the internet; it was a post on Weibo titled "Why do so many people smear Zhou Xingchi?" that ignited the "war"!

How to put it? This post was simply "open help, secret harm" for Zhou Xingchi.

However, the reputation of the Xiang family was indeed not good, and there were many checkable black materials... and the things the post said, hmm... beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

After all, everyone knew what *Young and Dangerous* was about. The post pointed directly at this aspect, saying Zhou Xingchi had been "oppressed" by them.

Now it was good; that "fat wife" insisted that this was Zhou Xingchi hiring internet water armies to attack and smear them!

Even the large number of netizens who followed the thread to support Zhou Xingchi in condemning them became a water army army of low quality bombing her!

Immediately after, she posted on Weibo, naming names and issuing an ultimatum, demanding that Zhou Xingchi must publicly explain to the media within 10 days and clear their names!

At the same time, when the fat wife shouted, a large number of Hong Kong media were excited, interviewing various big-name stars in the Hong Kong circle one after another, asking for their views on Zhou Xingchi for the nth time.

Subsequently, a large-scale "standing in line" began again.

Those "denouncing and condemning" Zhou Xingchi were still the same old people.

However, when people like Wong Jing said his character was problematic, they would still affirm his outstanding talent;

While people like Nick Cheung and Sean Lau were: I'm not familiar with Zhou at all, I heard his character is very bad, Mrs. Xiang is my good friend, she's a very good person...

Zhou Xingchi's "friends" on this side felt more credible to netizens!

Karen Mok, Jelly Lin, Zhang Yuqi, Gao Qunshu... among them were many figures from the mainland film circle!

The most interesting point was that this fat wife said publicly in front of the media:

"Jet Li, Derek Yee, Johnnie To, Andy Lau, and others have all told me personally that Zhou Xingchi has a bad character and is not their friend."

Perhaps this fat wife never dreamed that Andy Lau would not give her face.

This morning, in front of the media, the Heavenly King directly denied what the former had said, and emphasized that he had never said he was not friends with Zhou Xingchi, and even specially added:

"I can say now, before, and in the future, I am always a fan of Zhou Xingchi..."

When asked how he viewed this "Anti-Zhou Incident," the Heavenly King's answer had high emotional intelligence: "I think everyone has a ruler in their heart, and they can measure it themselves..."

After finishing the entire special edition of the news, Lin Nan also arrived at the hotel where he was staying.

Not to mention anything else, there was one point on the internet that no one could refute:

That is, for so many years, Zhou Xingchi had indeed never responded, never scolded, and never explained why he resolutely broke with the Xiang family... even when he was chased and beaten, chased and scolded by that family, and pointed at by thousands of people, he had never uttered a word!

I have to say, this skill is not something an ordinary person can have!

"I'm actually looking forward to him opening his mouth to me, hehe..."

Lin Nan joked with a smile. He admitted that, relatively speaking, he appreciated Zhou Xingchi!

Furthermore, *The Mermaid* was at a critical juncture, and that family was doing such a thing, and making the public opinion storm so big—what did they want to do?

The two assistants following behind were both amused by their boss's words.

Because the methods Lin Nan liked to use were all simple and crude, for example: deleting posts, banning, blocking accounts...

"Forget it, let's wait until tomorrow when we meet Chairman Ren and the others.

Besides, this is clearly not putting Chairman Ren in their eyes; when Chairman Han was here, that family didn't even dare to..."

Before Lin Nan could finish speaking, his phone vibrated.

"Hmm? So well-informed?" He looked at the caller and complained.

"Hello?"

"Lin Dao has arrived in Pengcheng?"

"Yes, just arrived."

"Then I don't know if Lin Dao has time; we could have a meal, or come to the company to sit for a while. We'll do our best as hosts, haha..."

Tencent's meal is not easy to eat, especially after Lin Nan clearly promised them the financing quota for Potato in June, they have been pulling back and forth, looking like they want to get more than they asked for and enter the game early.

"I'm here on a business trip this time, time might not be enough." Lin Nan chose to decline politely.

"It doesn't matter, we only need the time for a meal, just a simple casual meal, it won't delay Lin Dao's itinerary..." The other side didn't choose to give up.

Near evening, Ren Zhonglun and the others also arrived.

However, Zhou Xingchi still hadn't shown up, only sending Lam Tze-chung over.

The latter apologized profusely, saying bluntly that Zhou Xingchi had been burnt out by the media these past two days, and he would definitely rush over tomorrow morning to go to the scene with Lin Nan and the three of them.

Lin Nan could see that Lam Tze-chung wasn't lying, and Ren Zhonglun and the others could see it even more; the two big bosses seemed to be in a bad mood.

The external media were still warming up for *The Mermaid*'s audition finals.

"Written, produced, and directed by Zhou Xingchi, the 300 million yuan fantasy romance film *The Mermaid* will hold the audition finals for the female lead in Pengcheng tomorrow... Director Zhou Xingchi will personally sit in to select the mermaid in his heart..."

"Starry Glory announced to the outside world that important guests will personally sit in at the 13-into-6 scene of this *The Mermaid* audition finals..."

After Lin Nan finished talking to Liu Yifei on the phone, he lay on the bed flipping through the news.

He already had a premonition that he would probably be blocked by the media at the scene tomorrow!

But thinking about it, it should be very interesting.

Because it was highly likely that they were all aiming at the conflict between Zhou Xingchi and the Xiang family, and only secondarily at *The Mermaid*.

"Hehe, I'm looking forward to seeing Chairman Ren's dark face!

I just don't know if there are any media reporters who want to die and will ask the two big bosses for their views on this matter?"

Lin Nan suddenly had a bit of a wicked interest. But thinking about it, it would indeed be very interesting and worth looking forward to!
