Chapter 563

"This morning, the Warner Bros. team and the *Interstellar* crew arrived in the capital.

Internationally renowned director Christopher Nolan appeared with Oscar winner Ma Xiu McConaughey and others."

"Lin Dao and Liu Yifei greeted them at the airport; the latter is the female lead of *Interstellar*, her second collaboration with Director Nolan after *Inception*."

Entertainment news is reporting on the *Interstellar* crew everywhere, occupying the headlines.

For more than a month, first *The Great Wall* whetted the industry's appetite, and then *Interstellar* held a high-profile Asian premiere ceremony, followed by its release.

Two blockbusters: one a fantasy with a budget of 150 million USD, just waiting to start filming; one a space sci-fi produced for 170 million USD, about to be released globally simultaneously.

Actresses in the circle have been jealous time and time again, and they still have to eagerly rush to events, hoping to show their faces at the premiere and red carpet!

Without disturbing Nolan and his party too much, Lin Nan and Liu Yifei only stayed for more than half an hour before preparing to leave the hotel.

Because the crew had just flown for more than ten hours, they must be very tired;

Besides, they still need to recharge for tomorrow's grand Asian premiere ceremony, and time is really tight.

"Lin, Crystal, when you hold your wedding next year, you must tell us in advance."

"Haha, of course. Then we'll go back first. You can have a good rest this afternoon. See you tomorrow."

"See you tomorrow."

Liu Yifei waved to Nolan and the others with a smile. After Lin Nan thoughtfully opened the car door for her, she sat in the passenger seat.

Watching the car disappear from view, Jessica teased Ma Te Damon with a playful look:

"Ma Te, you're really something, you quietly took on another blockbuster..."

Not long after returning home, Lin Nan received a call from Tom.

This guy was clearly a bit drunk, his tongue was tied when he spoke, but his thinking was still clear.

The post-production of *Fifty Shades Darker* has been completed, and the company plans to set the release date for the first half of next year.

Another thing was to ask Lin Nan again when he would set off for Hollywood:

"The PR for the Golden Globe nomination can be... not... come, but the Oscars must be... must be taken seriously."

Liu Yifei heard it from the side and laughed, holding the cat and teasing: "How much did he drink?"

Lin Nan thought about the timing.

According to convention, the Golden Globe nominations will be announced in early to mid-December, Berlin should be mid-to-late, and the Oscars will be announced in January.

Thinking of this, Lin Nan made arrangements: "Tom?"

"Hmm, I'm here, not... not drunk."

"Next month, after the Golden Globe nominations are announced, I will come over. If we get nominated, we'll do PR together; if not, we'll focus on the Oscars!"

"Then reply to Mango TV and other satellite TVs, come to watch the film in the middle of next month, then bid."

"Jenny... don't, I'm on... on the phone with the boss, in a moment... in a moment..."

Hearing Tom's whispering with the person beside him, Lin Nan was speechless. This guy is simply too "embarrassing," he will die in the hands of women sooner or later.

Lin Nan hung up the phone without a word.

"Hahaha, I'm dying of laughter, Tom is out partying again." Liu Yifei couldn't help but laugh, unable to stop.

"I bet, when we see him in Hollywood next month, he will definitely be rounder than he was in March. It's all meat gained at banquets and parties!"

Lin Nan said confidently. There was another word, "weaker," that he didn't say out loud.

Over the years, only during the financial crisis was Tom looking relatively "slim" and "healthy."

Because he wasn't in the mood to eat and drink, linger at receptions, or indulge in women! As for other times?

Hehe, counting on him to lose weight for health is almost impossible! Most of his exercise is probably done in bed.

In the afternoon, the news that Wang Zhongjun spent over 60 million USD to buy a famous Van Gogh painting spread along with his return flight to Beijing.

There was a chorus of flattery in the circle, and the internet was talking about the wealth of the Huayi chairman.

As expected of the head of the first listed giant in the film and television industry with a market value exceeding 60 billion, he is truly rich!

Lin Nan had nothing to say about this. Huayi is indeed in its prime this year, and the general trend of its stock price has been rising. Wang Changtian and Yu Dong could die of envy!

Beside him, Liu Yifei kept answering calls from Red Star Dock. Many brands were asking about the schedule for her red carpet appearance at the premiere tomorrow, but Miss Liu wanted to be low-key and casual.

"Xixi, I'm going to the company first. Call me if anything happens."

"Hmm, come back early in the afternoon."

Liu Yifei nodded to Lin Nan while listening to the phone.

"Got it."

In the film and television industry, if both parties are satisfied after the first collaboration between two companies, there is a high probability of a second opportunity.

The process of Lin Nan Film Industry and Daylight Entertainment co-producing *Nirvana in Fire* was like this; everyone was very satisfied.

Hou Hongliang did indeed say that when they start new projects later, they would prioritize Lin Nan Film Industry as a partner.

Just didn't expect that the post-production of *Nirvana in Fire* had just been completed, and they started preparing for a new project, and they really came looking for him.

When Lin Nan arrived at the company, Jiang Xuerou was already waiting.

When attending the wrap-up banquet for *Nirvana in Fire*, she and Hou Hongliang exchanged phone numbers, so this time they contacted her directly.

"Director Jiang, what's the situation?"

Jiang Xuerou smiled and said: "Lin Dao also knows that Daylight Entertainment hasn't been established for long. Although the team is very complete and all professionals, the funds are not abundant.

Plus, *Nirvana in Fire* hasn't been sold yet, so they can only continue to look for outside help. Listening to Producer Hou, they originally wanted to find Shanying. But you know the efficiency of state-owned enterprises, and it's not like they can give as much as they lack, after all, they have already gone out to work alone. Haha..."

"So they set their sights on us again?"

Lin Nan was also amused, but he admitted that Daylight Entertainment's thinking was very correct.

"What exactly is the project?"

"Seems to be a Republic of China-era spy drama. This is also the key reason why they find it hard to find investment. After all, for this type of drama, with those few classics pressing down, it's hard to surpass."

Lin Nan listened carefully; Daylight Entertainment, which came from a regular army background, would definitely not make a "god-tier drama."

"Then notify them to send someone over to discuss the specific details, and leave it to Director Jiang."

"Okay, then I'll do it. By the way, let them bring the script over; we still have to take a look." Jiang Xuerou agreed readily.

A few minutes later, only Lin Nan was left in the office, and he began to continue checking his script.

And Jiang Xuerou, who returned to another office, dialed Hou Hongliang's phone.

"Director Jiang? Is there an answer?"

"Yes, Producer Hou. You can bring the script over, and we will discuss the cooperation details, investment share, and other issues in detail."

Hearing Jiang Xuerou say this, the other end of the phone was clearly moved, "Okay, no problem. Then let's make it the day after tomorrow, we'll come to the capital."

"Oh right, Producer Hou. What was the name of the script you mentioned before?"

"*The Disguiser*."

Morning of the 10th.

In the film and entertainment news on major portals and Weibo hot searches, it was all news about the Asian premiere ceremony of *Interstellar*.

As an imported blockbuster, the distribution business of *Interstellar* in China is handled by China Film Group.

But the promotion business, which is this Asian premiere ceremony, is hosted by Warner Bros. and undertaken by China Film Group.

Its scale is very grand. Because the guests and media to be received are not just from the Chinese-speaking circle.

On the huge square, photos of the tens of meters of red carpet and multiple giant space posters and individual actor standees have already appeared online.

More than two hundred news media from the mainland, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and other places have all taken their positions.

Many stars in the circle are still posting on Weibo, hinting at their itinerary for today... *Interstellar* Asian premiere ceremony!

Unlike picking up at the airport yesterday, Liu Yifei needs Lin Nan to wake her up.

Today is a serious matter at work, she is very conscious and got up earlier than Lin Nan!

In order to fit the role of an astronaut in the film, Miss Liu refused the gown and chose a heroic women's suit.

And the makeup and styling must be a full-aura heavy makeup!

Just past eight o'clock, when Lin Nan went to the next door for breakfast in slippers, three makeup artists and stylists were busy around Liu Yifei.

"I just slept a little longer, how come even the hairstyle has changed?" Lin Nan said subconsciously.

"Lin Dao, Yifei's long hair is slightly curled, which also looks very good."

The stylist said to Lin Nan with a smile. Liu Yifei wanted to speak but held back, because the makeup artist was applying makeup for her.

"Hmm, it looks good."

Lin Nan certainly wouldn't deny this point.

Imagine, Liu Yifei in a suit standing there, paired with bright heavy makeup, red lips, and long hair draped over her shoulders with slight waves, it is indeed heroic, another kind of breathtaking beauty!

Lin Nan ate slowly, not in a hurry at all; he wouldn't be with Liu Yifei today.

After she finishes makeup and styling, she has to meet with Nolan, Ma Xiu McConaughey, and others first, and walk the red carpet with the *Interstellar* crew.

More than half an hour later, Liu Yifei's makeup and styling were completed.

Women's suit, high heels, bright and atmospheric face, those red lips, those draped wavy long hair, she is simply a charming enchantress!

Looking at Lin Nan's dazed look, Liu Yifei smiled triumphantly, her arrogant posture coming out again, "Lin Dao, does it look good?"

"Hmm, it looks good."

"Then you can look slowly when I come back, I have to leave first."

After speaking, Liu Yifei picked up her clutch and walked towards the car at the villa gate, humming a little tune.

Lin Nan shook his head with a smile and got up, preparing to go back to the next door to change clothes.

"I'd better find someone to go with, otherwise walking the red carpet alone would be so awkward!"

*Interstellar* Asian premiere ceremony scene.

This kind of large-scale event is always an occasion for stars to chase.

Looking at the dense cameras and video cameras on both sides of the tens of meters of red carpet, artists unconsciously show smiles.

Further to the sides are the sea of fans and onlookers behind the railings, giving people a sense of the opening and closing ceremonies of a film festival.

One by one, filmmakers and actors in the circle walked the red carpet and stopped in front of the signature wall, which was about eight or nine meters long with *Interstellar* space shots as the background, to sign their names.

La Peikang walked the red carpet alone, representing China Film Group's "equal treatment" of imported films.

Wang Zhonglei, Yu Dong, Wang Changtian, Yang Shoucheng, Zhang Zhao, and many other film and television company bosses brought their own artists and walked among the lenses.

Jackie Chan, Liu Dehua, Gong Li, Zhang Ziyi, Li Bingbing, Fan Bingbing, Zhou Xun, and others—these artists who have had contact with Hollywood were even more formal than the others.

And Zhang Yimou, Chen Kaige, Ning Hao, Jiang Wen, Feng Xiaogang... John Woo, Tsui Hark, Gu Changwei... Han Han, etc., whether they are great directors or new crossover directors, everyone came for Nolan!

There seem to be a lot of first-line artists: Huang Bo, Tong Dawei, Huang Xiaoming, Tang Wei, Zhao Wei... Yang Mi, Yang Ying, Tang Yan...

Foreign companies and artists, especially those from South Korea, also came a lot, CJ, Showbox...

"I say Lin Dao, you are really miserable today. You actually fell to the point of walking the red carpet with us."

Zhu Yawen teased Lin Nan, and Luo Jin on the side was also laughing.

"You talk too much, hurry up."

Lin Nan retorted and led the two of them onto the red carpet.

Media reporters really teased: "Lin Dao, why aren't you with Yifei today?"

"Hey, if it weren't for me and Luo Jin, he would be a loner today, haha."

Zhu Yawen shouted at the reporters, drawing a burst of booing.

"I'm just a guest, Yifei is a main creator, she must be with the crew, they haven't arrived yet, right?"

"Yes, Lin Dao. Everyone is waiting for the *Interstellar* crew."

The three of them waved as they walked, and the people under the signature wall in the distance also looked back.

"Oh, it's Jing Tian who just got *The Great Wall*." Zhu Yawen said subconsciously.

"Shu Chang is chasing after us." Luo Jin also reminded.

Lin Nan's gaze turned from the figure in front to behind, "Wait for her."

Shu Chang, wearing a plain dress and high heels, quickened her pace.

When she reached them, she frowned and complained to Lin Nan: "Xixi said to let you take me, but you didn't even call."

Lin Nan patted his head, feeling a bit guilty: "Oh, I really forgot! I only thought of them. Let's go in first, Xixi will compensate you later."

Hearing Lin Nan's last sentence, Shu Chang had a smile, "Okay, on my birthday, I'll wait for her surprise, the gift can't be stingy."

"Okay, let's go."

Lin Nan responded with a smile, and when he turned around, there was no one under the signature wall.

Inside the venue, looking at it, I'm afraid there are nearly three hundred people, with many big names.

The positions of the four of them are definitely not together. On this occasion today, ordinary first-line stars can only sit behind the first two rows.

"Lin Dao."

"Lin Dao."

Amidst the greetings, Lin Nan separated from the three people beside him.

Shu Chang was fine, in the third row; while Zhu Yawen and Luo Jin went to the fourth row, next to Yang Mi, Ni Ni, and others.

More than ten minutes later, with a burst of noise.

Nolan walked in with Ma Xiu McConaughey, Liu Yifei, Jessica Chastain, Ma Te Damon, and several crew actors.

"Your Yifei is the center of attention today!"

Jiang Wen was peeling a small orange while talking to Lin Nan.

Isn't it!

Not to mention the complex eyes of actresses of the same age like Yang Mi and Ni Ni, even Zhang Ziyi, Li Bingbing, and Fan Bingbing in the second row had a trace of envy in their eyes.

"Yifei, you look so heroic today!"

Zhou Xun shouted at Liu Yifei, receiving a smile and a peace sign from Miss Liu!

When passing by Lin Nan in the first row, Liu Yifei even openly winked at him.

It made Jiang Wen on the right tease: "Youth is good." Zhang Yimou on the left also smiled rarely.

A group of main creators sat on the stage, only five meters away from the first row, very close.

The atmosphere on the field was much quieter; after all, those present today are all people with status and position in the circle.

With the warm-up of the CCTV host, the exchange session before the premiere began.

Nolan and the others don't understand Chinese, so necessary translation must be there, and Liu Yifei took on this burden.

*Interstellar* wasn't introduced much, because everyone would see it in a while.

Instead, the directors in the first row became the main force of the exchange.

After all, there are really too few domestic directors who can handle large-scale commercial films well.

Guo Fan came early today, and the sci-fi film questions he asked were much more professional than Chen Kaige and others.

After one round, a very funny thing happened in the middle.

When the host asked Nolan which famous Chinese director he knew well besides Lin Dao Nan, the directors in the first row subconsciously sat up straighter.

When everyone thought Nolan would answer Chen Kaige, Nolan said Zhang Yimou!

At that moment, it was interesting.

Director Zhang grinned, Director Chen was expressionless and a bit cold, not knowing what he was thinking. And the others were watching the show!

But don't say, Nolan really reported several old films of Zhang Yimou, *Red Sorghum*, *Ju Dou*...

After finishing Zhang Yimou, when it came to Director Chen, there was only *Farewell My Concubine*!

Nearly 3 hours of film let hundreds of people present know what a real sci-fi blockbuster is, and it is a space epic different from *Inception*!

The silence on the field is enough to show how shocked everyone is.

And Liu Yifei's role as the only female astronaut is also extremely bright and eye-catching.

"After this film, ordinary domestic crews are afraid they really can't afford your Yifei! Except for those internet giants."

Jiang Wen smacked his lips and said this.

"Can invest in the crew, can share box office..." Lin Nan smiled and gave a solution.

When a film is recognized by everyone, applause is the most direct affirmation.

"This film will become a classic in film history! One hour is 7 years; the vicissitudes of life are interpreted to the extreme." Even Zhang Yimou praised it from the heart.

After the film, it was the media's time.

"Director Nolan, there were rumors that the *Interstellar* crew chose Liu Yifei to play the female lead because of Lin Dao Nan. Is that so?"

Good guy, the first question is so sharp?

Many people's eyes wandered between Nolan, Liu Yifei, and Lin Nan, but all three were very calm.

The artists under the stage were very quiet, no one discussed, but many people had mixed feelings in their hearts.

"Is this looking for trouble?"

Jiang Wen muttered. Lin Nan took a look, Hong Kong media!

"It's not because of Lin. Because we have already collaborated in *Inception*, Crystal is an outstanding and hardworking actor.

Although Lin recommended her to me, choosing her is because of her own excellence. For this, we even changed the script; in the first draft of the script, her character was originally a white person."

Hearing Nolan's answer, many actresses at the scene felt even worse. Even if she is excellent, being able to stand in front of you is also because of Lin Nan!

Immediately after, facing the interview, Ma Xiu McConaughey, Jessica Chastain, Ma Te Damon, and others had a clear attitude. Besides promoting the film, their words all contained praise and recognition for Liu Yifei.

Looking at Miss Liu smiling on the stage, Lin Nan couldn't help but mutter, this group of people is too giving face!

Liu Yifei had already taken the microphone: "Very lucky to be in *Interstellar*, thank you very much to Director Nolan and Ma Xiu, Jessica, Ma Te.

Hmm, there is one more that cannot be missed, Lin Dao Nan, thank you for your support."

Laughter erupted instantly below, and there was whistling? Huang Xiaoming, Zhu Yawen... are all eye-catching!

Said at the end of last month, the updates this month will be unstable (the bumps and turns of life, can't hide, can't avoid).

In these two days, the plot will be accelerated appropriately to enter the award-winning link as soon as possible.
