Chapter 588: Six Nominations, Six Wins

A little past seven in the morning, the flight landed at Los Angeles Airport.

Lin Nan and Liu Liu Yifei had long since changed out of their down jackets, both wearing casual clothes.

It was simply because the average temperature here in January was much higher than in the capital, around eighteen or nineteen degrees.

"Sleeping all the way to Los Angeles is truly comfortable."

As soon as Liu Liu Yifei stepped off the plane, she stood in the sun and stretched widely, looking especially youthful and energetic.

Her slender waist and full hip line formed a perfectly balanced contrast, truly a feast for the eyes!

Her rosy, exquisite face was also quite tempting, making Lin Nan really want to pull her into his arms and take a hard bite.

"Let's hurry, Tang Mu is waiting outside. I heard he didn't even attend last night's party, just to sleep early and wake up early to pick us up."

Lin Nan looked at the message, then took Miss Liu's hand and walked toward the exit with the crowd.

Ten assistants and bodyguards pushed luggage, dutifully surrounding the two and keeping them in the center.

"Tang Mu? That really puts him in a tough spot."

Liu Liu Yifei knew Tang Mu's personality; he didn't date, didn't marry, and loved parties and banquets the most.

Five minutes later, when Lin Nan and Liu Liu Yifei walked out of the airport exit holding hands, they were immediately stunned by a scene in the distance.

Good heavens, Tang Mu was performing live for the two of them what "money and capital equal looks" meant!

Tang Mu, dressed in high-end fashion with a famous watch, sat on the hood of that black Maybach.

A group of "little brothers" almost all leaned against the doors of high-end Mercedes-Benz cars, watching their boss being pursued.

Right in front of Tang Mu were three tall, curvy blonde women in short skirts, seemingly models?

The four were chatting and laughing, looking as if they were exchanging contact information and adding social media accounts.

"This, you know, Hollywood is even more chaotic than the domestic film industry. Tang Mu is a fairly well-known producer in Hollywood, and his idol is Leon..."

Lin Nan covered his face with one hand and said to Liu Liu Yifei.

This guy Tang Mu was really embarrassing, that smile was as lecherous as it could get!

"Nothing at all, as long as our Lin Dao isn't like that. What do you say, Lin Dao?"

Liu Liu Yifei looked at Lin Nan with a smile, making him feel somewhat at a loss for words.

"Producer Liu, rest assured, I will hang myself on your tree for the rest of my life."

"Shut your crow's mouth, who wants you to hang yourself? Just be my ox and horse! Hehe..."

"Sounds like you haven't been using me as an ox and horse? Especially occasionally some late... night, ah, it hurts..."

While the two whispered, in no time, Lin Nan bent his body over, his waist hurting!

"Tang Mu!"

Lin Nan turned the "pain" into strength and shouted.

Tang Mu instantly looked over and immediately jumped down from the Maybach's hood.

The people by the five high-end Mercedes-Benz cars also immediately changed their demeanor; the boss and the boss's wife had arrived!

"My dear Crystal, it's been a year since I saw you. Every time I see you, you are more beautiful than the last!"

"Thank you. Tang Mu, you are still so good with words."

Liu Liu Yifei, with a smile on her face, greeted Tang Mu.

"Ahem..."

"Oh, Lin. I arrived a little past five this morning and have been waiting for you for nearly two hours. Leon and the others messaged the day before yesterday asking about your schedule."

"I thought you couldn't see me, but it turns out you can?"

Lin Nan said in a sarcastic tone.

This lackey couldn't quite tell the big from the small? No, he understood the situation too well! Truly a lackey!

In just two seconds, Lin Dao cursed Tang Mu twice in his heart.

"Who are they?"

Glancing sideways at the three suspicious-looking blonde women, Lin Nan asked.

【42】 "They? They are small Hollywood actors and advertising models. They just saw me, so they gathered the courage to come over and say hello. Hmm, quite admiring of me."

"Them? They are Hollywood minor actresses and also commercial models. They just saw me, so they mustered the courage to come over and say hello. Hmm, they quite admire me."

Liu Liu Yifei let out a chuckle; Tang Mu's acting was just too terrible.

"Gathered the courage? Hehe. If you turned into Weinstein, I'd find someone to send you to the San Fernando Valley to be a male actor..."

Tang Mu was immediately stunned.

Liu Liu Yifei was amused by Lin Nan's words, but still "angrily" punched him once; he really said anything!

"Let's go, back to Beverly Hills. Also, arrange hotels for the staff Miss Liu Qianqian and I brought."

"Okay, we'll head back right now."

Tang Mu responded immediately; he didn't want to go to the San Fernando Valley to be a male actor, hobbies and work were different! His body couldn't handle it...

The employees of Crystal Pictures greeted Lin Nan and Liu Liu Yifei in unison, and the two smiled in response.

"Tang Mu?"

"Hi, I'll call you later, bye..."

After opening the car door for Lin Nan and Liu Liu Yifei, Tang Mu waved to the three blonde women; the meaning was simple: let's meet up later!

"Lin Dao Nan of 'Manchester by the Sea,' a top contender for film awards at the 72nd Golden Globe Awards for Film and Television, arrived in Hollywood today..."

Truly, with the awards season entering its climax, even the slightest ripple could spread throughout Hollywood within an hour or two.

Leonardo from the 'The Revenant' crew, Ma Te Damon from the 'Great Wall' training base, and Jessica Chastain, who was currently attending social events, all called.

"The Golden Globe Awards ceremony is in four days; I just don't know if he can win an award? What award will he get? How many awards?"

Zhang Zhang Yimou said with a smile.

Liu Liu Dehua, standing nearby, picked up the thread and said with a smile, "To be honest, I hope Lin Dao wins all the nominated awards; that would be another big step forward. Tian Tian, what do you say?"

"Mm-hmm, I think so too. Big Brother Lin Nan will succeed later."

Jing Tian nodded eagerly beside them, her smile earnest and full of anticipation.

The physical training over this period made her feel as if she had returned to the time of "The Martian"; back then, she had also trained for two months.

"If he wins them all, I'm afraid some people will feel uncomfortable in their hearts. Hehehe..."

Zhang Zhang Yimou smiled and spoke in riddles; everyone wore puzzled expressions but dared not press further.

"James completed post-production on 'The Conjuring 2' a week ago. After discussion, we decided to set the release date for early June.

Lin, Crystal, would you like to see the finished film? James's 'The Conjuring 2' is simply fantastic!"

Lin Nan and Liu Liu Yifei both shook their heads; with the Golden Globe Awards imminent, they were already excited and nervous—why watch a horror film? It's bad for the heart!

"James's horror films will draw strong box office returns no matter when they are released."

Inside the villa in Beverly Hills, the group shared lunch together.

Although there were still four days until the awards ceremony on the 11th in Los Angeles time, Lin Nan and Liu Liu Yifei would not be too idle.

Especially since Liu Liu Yifei's brand representatives contacted them in the afternoon; they would arrive here tomorrow.

The gown, shoes, jewelry, handbag, and so on all needed to be coordinated with makeup and styling in advance. These required Liu Liu Yifei's cooperation; she had her hands full.

The jet lag adjustment went very smoothly; on their first night in Hollywood, Lin Nan and Liu Liu Yifei both slept well.

Meanwhile, back in the domestic scene, things remained just as lively.

"'The Disguiser,' a period suspense spy drama produced and made by Noon Sunlight under the main control of Lin Nan Pictures, starring Hu Ge, Jin Dong, Liu Liu Mintao, Wang Kai, and others, officially began filming today at the Chendong Film and Television Base in Shanghai."

"'The Mermaid,' a sci-fi romantic comedy film jointly produced by Star Bright, China Film, Shanghai Film, and Lin Nan Pictures, directed by Zhou Zhou Xingchi, starring Deng Chao, Lin Yun, and Zhang Zhang Yuqi, with an investment of 300 million, has officially announced wrapping up; the wrap party will be held..."

"'The Lost in Hong Kong,' the third installment of the 'Lost' series, jointly produced by Zhenle Dao, Light Media, and Lin Nan Pictures, directed by Xu Zheng, starring Xu Zheng, Bao Bei'er, and Du Juan,

held its wrap ceremony this morning. Director Xu Zheng stated that 'The Lost in Hong Kong' is expected to hit the film market in the second half of this year and meet the audience."

Although Lin Nan was not in the country, news kept emerging about films and TV dramas in which Lin Nan Pictures participated as an investor or producer, making the entire film and television industry drool with envy.

"You've landed another film role again?"

"Yes, didn't I already collaborate once with Director Cao Bao? This time, 'The Dead End' is also invested by the company, so I was essentially pre-selected."

Zhang Yi smiled somewhat cunningly, but upon seeing Lei Lei Jiayin's despondent appearance, he immediately became more serious.

"What's wrong?"

"Director Yue called and asked me to find some time these two days to return to the company to discuss the contract expiration. Judging by his tone, it seems he doesn't want to renew with me?"

Lei Lei Jiayin's tone carried a hint of distress; he should have been ruthless back then and signed an eight-year deal!

If he were kicked out by Shanhai Media, he would truly become the biggest joke in the industry.

"No way? You haven't been slacking off much; you've acted in so many external TV dramas and earned the company quite a bit of money," Zhang Yi joked.

"Go to hell.

Although that's what you say, I still feel Director Yue's tone was strange. If I get kicked out, I'm afraid very few companies in the industry would dare to hire me, right?"

Zhang Yi truly had no way to refute Lei Lei Jiayin's words.

Unlike Yang Mi, whose contract expired and who herself proposed not to renew; if the company actively decides not to renew, the nature of the situation is truly somewhat different.

Even if other companies are interested in an artist, they will weigh Lin Nan Pictures' stance. If they cannot figure it out, they absolutely will not act rashly, for fear of offending this side.

"What about your contract? Everyone in the industry says you're cunning; you're the only signed actor at Lin Nan Pictures, signing for ten years straight.

Even Lin Dao himself made it clear that such matters must not happen again. As a result, the maximum term for contracts with established artists has been changed to eight years!"

"I, I think mine is up next year?!"

Zhang Yi finally realized he had been at Lin Nan Pictures for over eight years! He just didn't know how the company would handle him after his contract expired next year.

"You, after meeting Director Yue, give me a heads-up, okay? I need to prepare myself mentally."

"Mm, sure."

Los Angeles time.

On the morning of the 8th, Leonardo returned from the "The Revenant" set;

Ma Te Damon left the "The Great Wall" training base on the afternoon of the 9th for a three-day vacation;

while Jessica Chastain had been in a state of free time all along.

This was a schedule she had reserved specifically, waiting to attend the Golden Globe Awards ceremony with the cast and crew, followed by the Berlin International Film Festival and the Oscars, whose nominations had not yet been announced!

Liu Liu Yifei worked busily for three days and finally settled on the makeup, styling, gown, jewelry, and other outfit details for the Golden Globe Awards ceremony.

On the evening of the 10th, the five of them gathered specifically to share dinner.

"Tomorrow, I hope I win the Golden Globe for Best Actress!" Jessica raised her wine glass high, shouting excitedly.

"Me? It seems I can only dream of the Best Supporting Actor award... though, if there were three Best Supporting Actor awards, that would be quite nice too!"

Ma Te Damon really knows how to dream; the probability is far too slim!

Only Leonardo remained the calmest, because he had already won the Golden Globe for Best Actor. Winning it again this time would be best, of course, but not winning wouldn't hurt him too much.

What he cared about most was the Oscar nomination list to be announced in a few days! Just thinking about it made him unable to suppress his nervousness...

Lin Nan and Liu Liu Yifei exchanged smiles, raised their glasses, and gently clinked them together. "Come, let's have a toast. Wish us six nominations and six wins tomorrow!"

"Cheers, six nominations and six wins!"

"Cheers, six nominations and six wins!"

"Cheers, six nominations and six wins!"

"Lin Nan, six picks, six hits!"
