Chapter 656: Wolf Warrior 2' Preparation; Ye Ning's Call

In 9 days, it took 2.148 billion; this box office result was gorgeously dazzling.

Even Wang Jing sent a congratulatory Weibo at 11 AM: "Congratulations to Director Zhou Xingchi's 'The Mermaid' for breaking 2 billion!"

Once this Weibo was issued, it quickly topped the Weibo hot search list and the entertainment headlines of major portal websites.

Netizens and posts praising Wang Jing's sincere attitude, and accusing him of taking the opportunity to hype up the popularity, emerged one after another; the internet soon became a mess.

So much so that the grudges between Zhou Xingchi and those people in the Hong Kong circle over the years were pulled out again.

After all, there were countless big names over there who had accused and belittled Zhou Xingchi's character as inferior countless times; at the same time, many big names had also supported Zhou Xingchi's character and talent, saying bluntly that he was just not good at socializing!

However, in the eyes of many people in the industry, Wang Jing's Weibo, which did not avoid the Xiang family, indeed had more components of sincere congratulations;

Although he had also bluntly said many times in public that Zhou Xingchi's personality and conduct had big problems, he would also never be stingy with praise for his talent and strength;

And today, praise was the majority.

Because the box office of his 'From Vegas to Macau 3' and Zheng Baorui's 'The Monkey King 2' were not even half of 'The Mermaid's' at this time, 877 million and 866 million respectively.

Lin Nan didn't rush to leave Enlight, and even had lunch with Old Wang.

Talking about the film market, 'Murder at 17', jointly produced by Wanda and Yinghuang, was completely a flop, really just a three-day tour in theaters;

9.32 million on the first day, 1.4 million on the second day, 160,000 on the third day!

How could Yang Ying support the box office? This was purely a joke, throwing money into the water?

As for Zhang Ziyi's 'Run for Love', it was the same, 36 million, 4.04 million, 1.01 million, at most it could live for two more days, and it was still living in a dying state!

"Around the end of next month, Baoqiang's 'Buddies in India' can start filming; the casting is over, most of them are people he contacted himself."

Lin Nan and Wang Changtian walked back to Enlight; he was ready to sit for a while and then go back later.

"Hmm, orderly, he is a person who truly wants to cross over to be a director."

Lin Nan affirmed, and the next second, he and Wang Changtian saw Wu Jing and Xie Nan at the elevator entrance.

"Yo, are you two just back from lunch?" Wu Jing greeted with a smile.

"You should be considered the non-Enlight artist who comes to Enlight most frequently in the circle, right?" While nodding, Lin Nan also teased.

"No way, my wife is here."

A joking remark made everyone present laugh instantly, including the passing employees; Xie Nan was also giggling and rolled her eyes at Wu Jing, which was a manifestation of marital harmony.

"I took people abroad for a trip during the Spring Festival, and inspected quite a few places..." Entering the elevator, Wu Jing's tone became much more serious, talking about serious business.

"'Wolf Warrior 2'?"

Lin Nan and Wang Changtian asked subconsciously, almost in unison.

"Yes, Director Lin, Wang Zong, the script for 'Wolf Warrior 2' can be polished in at most half a month."

Speaking of this, Wu Jing paused, looked at Lin Nan and Wang Changtian, and his expression became more serious:

"I plan to establish the project and cast the actors while submitting the script; the actors must follow me abroad to train for a month or two, and then officially start filming. I have already contacted the support of relevant departments."

"So after a month or two, the investment must be in place, right?" Lin Nan heard the meaning in his words and teased.

Sure enough, he saw Wu Jing smile embarrassedly but with a thick skin:

"No rush, no rush, the budget will only come out in two days, let's talk about it then, let's talk about it, hahaha..."

Beijing Film Academy was a bit embarrassed; I don't know who leaked the situation of the last few preliminary exams of the acting department the day before yesterday.

Guan Xiaotong, who debuted as a child star, only recited a small section before being stopped because of repeated mistakes and poor performance in poetry recitation, and many candidates in the same group confirmed this.

Logically speaking, this should be directly eliminated; but whether in the circle or online, those who understand understand, Beijing Film Academy will definitely protect this child star.

So, the netizens with a spirit of "resistance" began to be sarcastic:

They tagged the Beijing Film Academy Acting Academy one after another, waiting to see the "special care" later, just like setting the admission score line for Zhou Dongyu's college entrance examination results back then!

Lin Nan couldn't help but laugh when he heard about this at the company. How to say this kind of thing? The result was destined from the beginning.

Like this kind of child star with good looks and high national popularity, the school will recruit with closed eyes.

No matter how bad the evaluation is at the art exam site, it's just a form, for the vast number of candidates and media to see.

After all, debuting as a child star means that this student's starting point is naturally a big chunk higher than all other amateur candidates!

"Visiting the crew is impossible, with this time, wouldn't it be better for me to sleep at home..."

In the afternoon, just as Lin Nan entered the door, he heard Liu Yifei's crisp and soft laughter.

I saw her wearing a light pink fluffy home outfit, with printed cotton socks on her feet, curled up on the sofa and having a video call.

Shu Chang should have just turned off the camera and was removing her makeup.

"How was the filming these two days?" Lin Nan squeezed Liu Yifei and leaned over to ask.

"Very good, there's a feeling of returning to filming 'Magic Mobile 2' a few years ago. But Jiao Ge's daughter came to visit the crew today, looking like another girl who wants to enter the film and television circle."

Speaking of gossip, Shu Chang was very energetic, and told Lin Nan and Liu Yifei a lot, and finally summarized it in one sentence:

"... It's not a proper academic background, nor is she a child star, and compared to her dad, she looks too ordinary, not inherited at all."

Hearing this, Liu Yifei laughed and fell on Lin Nan's shoulder, "Is there, is there such an ordinary as you said? Speak ill and be careful of being heard..."

"I didn't lie on purpose, it's just ordinary, not even as good as those students from Beijing Film Academy and Central Academy of Drama in the crew. Besides, I'm in my own room, who can hear it?"

Speaking of this, Shu Chang lowered her voice mysteriously again:

"I heard Jiao Ge's family is a bit complicated? And I feel that this daughter of his seems a bit deliberately close to her biological father, like she's a bit utilitarian? Tsk, maybe I felt wrong..."

"Don't worry about those people, just act your play well."

"Don't gossip."

Looking at Shu Chang whose tone was gradually becoming a bit low, Liu Yifei hurriedly changed the subject;

Unlike her, Shu Chang was more miserable; when she was five months old, her parents divorced, her childhood only had a mother, and when she grew up to 10, she didn't even have a mother...

"Oh, I won't gossip."

The next morning, after eight o'clock.

Wanda issued a very formal "Announcement to the Industry";

For a very small number of people in the circle like Lin Nan, Wang Changtian, and Yue Jun, a few people just felt a bit mixed and solemn, after all, they already knew the day before;

But for the entire mainland film industry, this was undoubtedly a heavy bomb, blowing up the entire film circle and shocking all film and television companies in the industry!

"Wanda's Announcement to the Film and Television Industry:

Group Director, i. e., Vice President of the group's cinema, film, and distribution companies, Ye Ning, has submitted his resignation to the group on the 15th of this month due to personal reasons, which takes effect immediately. Starting from today, Mr. Ye Ning is no longer a senior executive and employee of the group; we hope all companies, partners, and collaborators in the industry are aware;

We also thank Ye Ning for his long-term contributions to the group and wish him even more brilliant achievements in his future work and career. In addition, we hope both parties will abide by the agreement and be well..."

Reporting the content of the matter, thanking Ye Ning for his contributions, euphemistically warning him to abide by the non-compete agreement...

All film and television companies and capital in the industry extracted several key points of this Wanda announcement at a glance.

No one believed that Ye Ning would leave the film and television industry; he had been deeply involved in this for more than ten years, and now the industry was so prosperous, how could he leave? Stupid?

Ninety-nine percent of film and television capital vaguely guessed that someone was pulling the tiger's whiskers! There will be something to see later, it will definitely be very exciting.

Lin Nan and Liu Yifei, along with their assistants, had already booked their tickets; the flight time was the morning after tomorrow, just past 9:30, and when they arrived in Los Angeles, it would be about six or seven in the morning.

In the morning, before the two went out to their respective companies, several calls came in;

Each one was inquiring about Wanda and Ye Ning's matter, who told him to be a senior partner of Wanda Film.

After perfunctorily dismissing Ren Zhonglun, Han Sanping, and others, Lin Nan and Liu Yifei got into their cars.

For the whole morning, all the film and television capital in the industry was paying attention to the matter of Wanda and Ye Ning, a top-tier manager;

And for actors and artists, this matter was not what they were interested in; because everyone was not in the same class at all, and only a few actors and artists who were promoted to capital might gossip about it.

However, in the afternoon, a "terrifying" news spread in a small range in the industry, and even disappeared after flashing on Weibo.

"What did you say?"

Lin Nan sat behind his desk, dropping his chopsticks in astonishment.

This was no longer a matter of whether Ye Ning jumped ship or not; this was digging Wanda's roots. You know, Wanda's biggest foundation in the film and even film and television industry lies in the cinema chain!

"It has already spread by now; until 12 o'clock noon, more than 20 cinema managers of Wanda Cinema submitted their resignations this morning, all of whom are backbone members with more than five to eight years of service;

The specific number is unknown, it is estimated that it is still increasing, Wanda didn't cover up the news internally... just spent money on public relations... I guess that Wang Zong will have to fly back from abroad immediately..."

Yue Jun said with lingering fear, but there was still a hint of excitement on his face.

If Ye Ning resigned alone, everyone would guess who poached him, or which company he jumped to;

But now that so many cinema backbones left together, everyone knew that the nature of the matter was different, and something big happened! Someone was playing dirty against the largest cinema chain in the country!

Lin Nan's expression was a bit serious, and he didn't speak; if this didn't go well, it would alarm the bureau.

At this moment, the phone next to the set meal suddenly vibrated, and the two characters on the screen were exceptionally eye-catching and striking.

"Ye Ning?!"

Yue Jun opened his mouth in shock, watching.

And Lin Nan had already picked up the phone: "Ye... Zong?"
