Chapter 698: Tian Zhuangzhuang Participates, Huanxi's Big Move!

On Children's Day, the Beijing Film Academy, I have to say, the atmosphere is quite good; after all, the graduating students all have some middle-school attributes to a greater or lesser extent.

Since he promised Old Jiang to come back to take a few graduation photos, Lin Nan would definitely not break his promise;

Especially this academic year, he also taught a major elective course, and there were a few seniors in the class.

Stepping into the school, you could see many students wearing bachelor's uniforms from afar, and Lin Nan felt quite touched for a while.

The last time he took graduation photos himself was 10 years ago, that time... well, Lin Nan thought of Zhou Yang.

It seems that Zhou Yang can only strive for the resources of one TV series every year at most, and they are all unknown dramas; after all, the plastic surgery failed, and it completely collapsed.

"Heard you would come back to take a group photo, people from your class all ran over; a bunch of people joining in the fun, spanning four grades, most of them are not graduating this year."

After seeing Lin Nan from afar, Old Jiang immediately greeted him, and it was a complaint upon meeting.

"And them too?" Director Lin also felt a bit surprised, it was indeed joining in the fun.

"Let's go, follow me to the directing department first. You are a role model, they strongly requested that you must be in the group photo."

Lin Nan didn't refuse and followed Old Jiang's footsteps with a smile.

The greetings on campus became more and more frequent. As long as they were students, almost no one didn't stare at Lin Nan with glowing eyes.

"Teacher Lin, can we take a group photo later?"

Good guy, this is the first time I've seen someone call Lin Nan so boldly in school.

Old Jiang also subconsciously turned his head together, and the two saw Meng Ziyi running over, followed by the slightly quieter Chen Yao.

"Can." Lin Nan nodded, these were both in his elective class.

"Then, is it okay if it's not a class group photo?"

Lin Nan looked at the little girl in front of him and really wanted to say: You are quite bold, you dare to make any request!

Old Jiang smiled and patted Lin Nan, "It's just a group photo."

"Then fine, wait a moment." Lin Nan could only nod.

As the two turned and walked away, Meng Ziyi bumped Chen Yao with her arm and showed off with a smile: "Look, you still have to dare to speak, isn't this the opportunity for a group photo?"

"Who is as bold as you, you are just lucky. If it were another big director, it would be 'no time' or a bad impression of you. Two days ago, Director Chen Kaige came over, and a student from the 12th grade tried to curry favor, and was ignored, right?"

"That's different, that's different. We at least acted in StarWu's TV series, hehe..."

Since the disastrous defeat of *The Warrior and the Wolf* in 2009, Tian Zhuangzhuang had not directed a movie again; *Lady of the Dynasty* didn't count, that was just paying back a favor, and he only directed a fraction of it.

Now he is completely in a state of retirement and teaching, without the passion of Zhang Yimou, Chen Kaige, and others.

However, on the way to the directing department office, Lin Nan heard Old Jiang say that Tian Zhuangzhuang had rarely taken on a play again; it's just that he was still not a director, but an actor, the male lead.

"*Love Education*, it can be considered a period drama. Sylvia Chang invited me personally, and I agreed, filming starts in the second half of the year."

Hearing Tian Zhuangzhuang's words, Lin Nan didn't say anything; he was repulsed by most film people from Taiwan.

"Teacher, can you be on time to join the crew in two days?"

"Rest assured, since I've opened my mouth, I will definitely arrive on time."

Tian Zhuangzhuang said with a smile, this was his first time participating in Lin Nan's movie. When the other party first mentioned it to him, he didn't hesitate at all and agreed immediately.

Graduation students of the directing department, batch after batch, Lin Nan was only familiar with the batch of his undergraduate and the batch of Han Jia's graduate school; the vast majority of the rest of the directing department graduates were really "unknown"!

Most of these graduates probably won't be movie and TV directors later, and some won't even have the opportunity to direct independently in their lives;

Either they turn to be advertising or MV directors, or they mix in the industry; wait until they make it out or have someone invest, then they can make a play, but once they fail, it's an abyss.

For a whole morning, Lin Nan didn't rest, first the directing department, then the elective class, and finally being begged by many students for group photos... so busy that his face was stiff from smiling!

When he drove away from school, the information about his appearance at the Beijing Film Academy and taking quite a few group photos had already flooded the internet, and there were photos everywhere for showing off.

And Director Lin's attention was undoubtedly attracted by Miss Liu again. She and her assistant went out for a stroll and were caught again.

White sneakers, black casual trousers, white printed T-shirt; hmm, shawl long hair, bare-faced and fresh!

When being secretly photographed by reporters, Liu Hanhan was still waving and greeting with a smile, which was really relaxed to the extreme.

An afternoon, a day, the filming progress of *Marriage Story* has moved forward a bit more.

On the morning of the 3rd, when the signing press conference of Huanxi was broadcast live on the internet, and the whole internet saw those two Hong Kong big directors, the industry completely exploded.

"At 10:00 this morning, Huanxi Media held a new shareholder partner signing ceremony and media press conference in the capital;

Huanxi Media Chairman Dong Ping, accompanied by founding shareholders Ning Hao and Xu Zheng, appeared at the media press conference site; new shareholders and partners, Director Wong Kar-wai and Director Chen Chen Kexin, made their first public appearance in front of the media and the public..."

"It is reported that the board of directors of Huanxi Media has passed a resolution that the group will conditionally allot and issue 100 million shares and 144 million shares to Director Chen Chen Kexin's wholly-owned subsidiary masterchinafilms and Director Wong Kar-wai's wholly-owned subsidiary respectively. The two currently hold 4.15% and 5.89% of the issued share capital of Huanxi Media after the expansion..."

"It is reported that in the agreement signed between Huanxi Media and Director Chen Chen Kexin, Huanxi Media will enjoy the priority to invest in Director Chen Chen Kexin's works over others, with a maximum investment amount of 60% of the total investment of each work. Director Chen Chen Kexin will produce and direct 2~4 films for Huanxi Media in the next 6 years.

The agreement signed with Director Wong Kar-wai stipulates that Huanxi Media will have the right to exclusively invest in a total of two seasons of online series produced and created by masterchinafilms, totaling 18 episodes, which will be directed by Director Wong Kar-wai himself..."

Big Director Alliance!

In the eyes of countless film and television companies and film people in the Chinese film industry, this is a big director alliance!

A listed film and television company with four big director shareholders is undoubtedly a unique existence in the Chinese film industry.

At this moment, there is only one sentence in the hearts of people in the circle: Huanxi, grand!

Once the news on the internet broke out, the stock price of Huanxi Media, which was only a few dollars on the Hong Kong stock market, started to soar in response...

"Chen Chen Kexin and Wong Kar-wai made a fortune, but Huanxi will only earn more!"

Sitting in Wang Changtian's office, Lin Nan muttered while drinking new tea. Today, the *Marriage Story* crew was on holiday again.

"I see, using the stock market's money to win-win. What 18 episodes of web drama budget cost 450 million? And each episode plans to spend 3.1 million to 3.85 million US dollars? This is 20 million to 25 million per episode! Comparing this, Enlight is a country bumpkin, a poor ghost!"

Wang Changtian scolded, but at the same time, he was so envious that his eyes were red, but he couldn't possibly trample Enlight like this.

"Chairman Wang, don't say it if you see through it. Others invited you to the banquet, let's just go to join in the fun, hehe..."

To be honest, when Lin Nan saw the agreement between Huanxi and Wong Kar-wai, he was also startled. This is completely treating shareholders as sticks, squeezing leek juice.

However, one is willing to fight and the other is willing to suffer, there is no right or wrong.

Through the different treatment of Wong Kar-wai and Chen Chen Kexin by Dong Ping, one can also see the market value of these two people in the eyes of capital.

Although the former's movies don't sell well, the fame is great, and the places where Huanxi can make money through Wong Kar-wai are naturally more than those of Chen Chen Kexin. And the best place to make money is undoubtedly the stock market!

"Ning Hao's decision to empty his family fortune to join the partnership was the right one. It's too easy for big directors to become capital! It's just a matter of the size of the capital, but Ning Hao is obviously not small capital." Wang Changtian smacked his lips, feeling a bit emotional.

"So what, compared to you, Chairman Wang, it's still far behind!" Lin Nan joked.

"How can you have the face to say this? Making it seem like I'm very rich? We are each other!" Old Wang scolded "accusingly" and laughed.

There is only one week left until the opening of the Shanghai International Film Festival.

According to the previous plan, Yue Jun will take people to Shanghai in these two days to arrange the exhibition stands for *Operation Mekong* and *Cock and Bull* in advance.

At the same time, Happy Mahua will also take *Mr. Donkey* there.

And Lin Nan and Liu Yifei will fly to Shanghai one day in advance on the afternoon of the 9th. Of course, the *Marriage Story* crew will also stop filming for 10 days.

In the afternoon, Lin Nan and Liu Yifei were staying at home preparing to attend Huanxi's banquet in the evening; the two were purely giving face to Ning Hao and Xing Aina.

Shanghai Film Group.

Ren Zhonglun was meeting and chatting with people from the Shanghai official side, about the Shanghai International Film Festival.

"Chairman Ren, let's be honest, the Shanghai International Film Festival is the only international A-list film festival in the country, but look at these years, how many of the top domestic directors have come? Zhang Yimou? Chen Kaige? Lin Nan? Jiang Wen... Count them, only Tian Zhuangzhuang has participated in the competition once!"

"So what is the city's meaning?"

Ren Zhonglun asked with interest, he had guessed something in his heart.

Although the organizers of the Shanghai International Film Festival are the Shanghai Municipal Government and the CCTV Headquarters, the former accounts for a heavier proportion, after all, it occupies the geographical advantage.

"Can Shanghai Film Group think of a way, it can't be that the local international A-list film festival is always looked down upon by local big directors?"

"Looked down upon? Haha..." Ren Zhonglun was amused by this sentence.

"Those big directors you mentioned, all of them have the strength to compete for the Big Three film festivals, Cannes, Venice, and Berlin. You want them to come to the Shanghai International Film Festival? This is a bit difficult!"

"But no matter how difficult it is, we have to think of a way, right? Shanghai International Film Festival, if Shanghai Film Group doesn't contribute, do you expect China Film Group in the north?"

Hearing this, Ren Zhonglun was speechless instantly! Shanghai has always been the private territory of Shanghai Film Group. Including the Shanghai International Film Festival, Ren Zhonglun and Shanghai Film Group have always regarded themselves as "hosts"!

"Heard that the movie Director Lin Nan is filming is very in line with the film festival's route?"

"Then you think too much, this film of Lin Nan is prepared for Yifei, and even the cast configuration is top-notch, it is clearly aimed at Europe!"

"But..."

"Don't count on Lin Nan next year, I'll think of a way later, see if there is an opportunity to lobby those big directors." Ren Zhonglun waved his hand and said very seriously.

"Then, fine. I'll leave it to Chairman Ren."
