Chapter 796: Declaring: Sweeping the New Year's slot, pushing through all the way!

The Golden Hall was bustling with people.

On the red carpet, familiar celebrities from the film and television circle, entertainment industry, media, sports, and other industries were also endless, filing in...

Most of the male guests were in suits and leather shoes, while a few big shots were in low-key Zhongshan suits;

Like Han Sanping, who actually came wearing a pair of old cloth shoes, but undoubtedly, this did not affect his status and position at all.

Looking at the female guests, all kinds of beautiful high-end custom gowns and ladies' casual suits, paired with exquisite makeup and styling, competed for beauty, focusing on being unique and different.

However, as time passed, in the field of vision of countless media lenses and onlookers in the square, these stars and celebrities gradually became inconspicuous.

Because the most heavyweight group of guests for today's premiere ceremony had arrived, their momentum completely overshadowed the actors and stars, focusing everyone's attention:

A crowd in simple administrative jackets, a unified team in police uniforms. Of course, the most "eye-catching" thing about the latter team was the difference in shoulder straps, which could be called dazzling!

Just past 8:00 AM, Lin Nan and Liu Yifei arrived at the square outside the Great Hall of the People on time.

As soon as the two got out of the car, they were met with countless long guns and short cannons, as well as the sound waves of movie fans and followers.

In terms of "starlight," as a director behind the scenes, Lin Nan ultimately couldn't compare to Liu Yifei in front of the stage!

Listening to the two forms of address "Xixi" and "Yifei" rising wave after wave, Lin Dao had a speechless smile on his face.

And Miss Liu was happily waving to everyone on both sides, well, and blowing kisses; she couldn't see the sleepy, drowsy look she had in the car just now at all. Hehe, she really is an excellent actress!

Until the family of three of Chen Kaige walked into the Great Hall of the People in front, Lin Nan and Liu Yifei finally stepped onto the red carpet, and not long after, they heard movement from behind; it was the couple Jiang Wen and Zhou Yun.

Fingers intertwined, they stepped into the Golden Hall. The atmosphere at the scene made Lin Nan and Liu Yifei feel like they were dreaming back to their wedding last year. There were so many people, it was so lively!

"Chairman La, *Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk* has really lost to the grandmother's house this time.

Back then, your active energy was hard to snatch from my hands. But I don't blame you, and at this moment I still want to sincerely thank you. Really thank you, Chairman La, haha..."

Ren Zhonglun's sarcastic greeting sounded abruptly from the side. It immediately attracted the attention of many people around, including Lin Nan and Liu Yifei who had just entered.

They saw La Peikang's face turn black immediately, and many people in the circle on the side subconsciously avoided him. Looking at that posture, they were hiding as far as they could.

"Xixi, let's go inside quickly too. These two look like they are going to 'communicate'." Lin Nan whispered to Liu Yifei, and then the two walked quickly into the sea of people.

Wang Changtian was chatting enthusiastically with Zhang Yimou and Zhang Mo; beside Yang Shoucheng were Jiang Wen and Ge You, also discussing *The Wasted Times*...

The venue was unusually noisy and lively, and the atmosphere was also active and enthusiastic, without giving people a feeling of noise and annoyance; in short, the physical feeling was very good.

Not long after, amidst a sound of greetings, Lin Nan and Liu Yifei squeezed to the front of the main force—Ning Hao, Li Bingbing, Zhu Yawen, Zhang Hanyu, Han Jia...

"Today's specification is definitely top-tier in the industry. I just saw the big leaders from the ministry! Look, Han Dong is chatting with them over there." Ning Hao leaned over and whispered.

"It is indeed a high specification, so my pressure on box office results is also very high. If it can't compare to *The Taking of Tiger Mountain*, then it will be miserable."

"Lin Dao, no need to be so humble, right? I haven't acted in such a high-grossing film before, just counting on you to lead me this time." Li Bingbing smiled and flattered.

"Then I hope you get what you wish for." Lin Nan nodded and smiled.

"Han Dong seems to be calling you?" Liu Yifei suddenly pulled Lin Nan's hand and reminded him. Sure enough, she saw Han Sanping in the distance waving and calling, with the leaders from the ministry beside him.

"You guys chat first, I'll go over. By the way, it won't be criticism and education, right?"

"Go to your crow's mouth!"

As Lin Nan walked straight towards the direction of the uniform team, many gazes at the scene also followed implicitly.

"Lin Dao Nan, I'll be able to see your finished film in a while. How about it, how much confidence do you have in the box office?"

Just as he walked up, before Lin Nan could speak first to greet, the leading leader from the ministry today couldn't wait.

But there was nothing wrong with that; mainstream commercial films are ultimately commercial films, and whether they are successful and how much achievement they have achieved are intuitively reflected in the box office.

In other words, the higher the box office, the better the mainstream effect of this *Operation Meigonghe*, which means the higher the degree of promotion, and the larger the range and crowd covered by the mainstream!

"Rest assured, based on my understanding of him. As far as commercial films go, he has never taken a step backward in terms of box office performance. It's higher every single time!" Han Sanping was quite good at jumping in with answers, taking it upon himself to provide a reply on Lin Nan's behalf.

"Mm, although I can't estimate how much box office there will be in the end, I think it will definitely be higher than *The Taking of Tiger Mountain*."

Lin Nan tentatively brought up *The Taking of Tiger Mountain*. Sure enough, he guessed right; the ministry also had a competitive mentality.

"Good, very good. That, the premiere is the day after tomorrow; one week after the premiere, you go apply for an extension. No need to drag it too far back, this time is just right.

The Film Bureau will pass it quickly and announce it, which can also stimulate the film market well and add icing on the cake for this film in terms of promotion!"

At this moment, Lin Nan had to admire the leaders of the ministry. The arrangement was really thoughtful, well, and the thinking was also meticulous.

"No problem, I'll have people go to the Film Bureau early on the 5th of next month to wait for them to go to work."

"Mm, remember to be low-key."

Chattering, one sentence after another, they chatted for more than half an hour. When Lin Nan went to reunite with Liu Yifei and the others again, there wasn't much time left for socializing.

At 9:30, under the warm-up of the host, Lin Nan led Liu Yifei, Ning Hao, Zhang Hanyu, Zhu Yawen, Li Bingbing, Chen Baoguo, and others onto the stage.

All the guests at the scene took their seats one after another.

The first two rows were administrative jackets and police uniforms, and from the third row onwards were the bosses, great directors, and great producers of film and television companies in the industry, and the seats behind them were arranged in order according to their status and influence.

"Lin Dao, we know this is your second mainstream commercial film. Compared to the first *The Taking of Tiger Mountain*, what do you think is different?" The reporter from the movie channel asked first.

"There's no difference, right? If you really want to say what the differences and variations are, it should be that it's more real and closer to us! Because it is adapted from a real case, and the degree of restoration is very high. Here, I really want to thank our anti-drug police..."

While Lin Nan was speaking, he also clearly noticed that the leaders in the first two rows were very satisfied with his answer, and they were all smiling on their faces.

This scene was really much harder to serve than the premiere ceremony of *The Taking of Tiger Mountain*!

"Cooperating with Teacher Li Bingbing for the first time, what evaluation does Lin Dao have for her?"

"This is also Yifei's second time producing a mainstream commercial film. Did you ever think about letting Lin Dao tailor a role for you in it?"

"I don't know when Lin Dao's third mainstream commercial film will be, and what the theme will be?"

"There is no consideration in this regard at present, maybe it will wait a long time? Perhaps when there are more people in the industry shooting mainstream commercial films, I will also 'wrap up' and leave this track."

"What?"

The noisy sound exploded with a bang.

"Lin Dao, don't joke."

"We'll just assume you're joking."

At 10:00 AM, the film officially began.

Mainstream commercial films take the mainstream as the story tone and interpret it with commercial film techniques.

Its characteristic is that it can mobilize the audience's emotions anytime and anywhere, making the audience immersed in the tense and exciting plot; this is the eternal truth of mainstream commercial films.

Lin Nan and Liu Yifei sat in the second row, holding each other's hands. From the viewing reaction of everyone around, it could be seen that *Operation Meigonghe* was undoubtedly successful.

"Director Zhang and the others are all watching very seriously." Miss Liu looked back and whispered to Lin Nan.

"They should be serious; at least for Director Zhang, I am his opponent, and also his daughter's opponent. I am their most troublesome competitor in the same slot! Hehe..."

Lin Nan smiled unceremoniously; *Operation Meigonghe* is the first shot of the New Year's slot, and all the films in the entire New Year's slot are within the firepower coverage of this film without exception. After all, they have two months of time!

The two-hour finished film ended quickly, and amidst the overwhelming applause, Lin Nan led the team onto the stage again. The questions to be faced this time absolutely could not be separated from the box office.

"Lin Dao, congratulations, *Operation Meigonghe* is great."

"Thank you."

"As a commercial blockbuster that opens the New Year's slot, it's impossible that you haven't made a prospect for the results of *Operation Meigonghe*. Don't be low-key, everyone wants to hear something exciting, haha..."

Lin Nan, Liu Yifei, and others couldn't help laughing when they heard this. The scene also erupted in loud laughter; this is what only the movie channel dared to ask.

Taking the microphone, Lin Nan's eyes swept across the third row, to be precise, swept across Zhang Yimou, Derek Yee, Jackie Chan, Jiang Wen, and others.

"This year's New Year's slot should be the most competitive one in these years. Count the competitors of *Operation Meigonghe*, all of them are works by great directors and big names; of course, there are also many small and medium-cost films. However, I will also make a statement here as the movie channel expects."

Lin Nan paused, and then everyone at the scene, whether media reporters or all leaders and industry guests, were all focused, looking at him with expectation and excitement.

"I firmly believe that our *Operation Meigonghe* will sweep this year's New Year's slot.

It will push through *Sword Master* on the 2nd, *The Great Wall* and *The Wasted Times* on the 16th, *See You Tomorrow* and *Railroad Tigers* on the 23rd, and all the great directors and great productions after that! I won't name the small and medium-cost films, they are defaulted as cannon fodder!"

The entire Golden Hall, as Lin Nan's words fell, completely boiled over.

Even Zhang Yimou and others applauded with a smile, their expressions were helpless, but they also carried a trace of expectation for a head-on collision!

"Dad, I am cannon fodder in Lin Dao's eyes." Zhang Mo had a bitter face, self-deprecatingly looking at Zhang Yimou, who gave a comforting look: "Take it slow."

Beside Lin Nan, Liu Yifei, Li Bingbing, and others were also looking at him with burning eyes, and the excitement in their eyes was clear at a glance.

"Lin Dao, you are really capable of making statements! Why don't you break into the Spring Festival slot?" Ning Hao teased with a smile.

"I want to too, but the ministry won't give me a second extension."

Lin Nan muttered in a voice that only a few people around could hear. Except for Liu Yifei, Ning Hao and the others were all dumbfounded—good guy!

"Lin Dao's *The Taking of Tiger Mountain* is the first domestic film with a 2 billion box office, so as your second mainstream commercial film *Operation Meigonghe*, what is Lin Dao's specific box office expectation for it?

We all know that *The Mermaid* is the first Chinese film with a 3 billion box office, and it is also the only film with a 3 billion box office now. Does Lin Dao want to use its box office as a reference this time?"

This question hit the point again, and the scene was restless.

Reference *The Mermaid*'s box office? How to reference? Naturally, 3 billion is the reference point!

Lin Nan hesitated a bit, then looked at Liu Yifei, Ning Hao, and Zhu Yawen who were winking at him. Alright, then let's make it even more lively!

"Then let's use 3 billion as a reference, and I'll go up and see the scenery of the 3 billion box office club. But it's also true, if you can't even get 3 billion box office, how can you sweep the New Year's slot?"

Applause erupted again!

Half an hour later, the luncheon officially began.

However, many actors and filmmakers were preparing to leave early; these people basically flew back from the Golden Horse Awards.

"Wish you success in getting the Golden Horse Best Actress."

"Then I'll borrow Producer Liu's auspicious words. You won it a few years ago. I guess you will compete for the three major European film festivals again next year?"

"Maybe, it depends on Lin Dao, hehe."

Fan Bingbing and Liu Yifei hugged and wished each other success. She had to leave early because her flight was after 3:00 PM.

On the other side, Zhang Yimou also came to Lin Nan with Zhang Mo.

"The premiere ceremony of *The Great Wall* is on the 7th, and the premiere ceremony of her *Suddenly Seventeen* is on the 8th. I hope you can find time to come and support it. If the audition work is really too busy, then forget it."

"Sorry to trouble Lin Dao." Zhang Mo said apologetically with humility and politeness.

Looking at the smiling faces of the father and daughter, Lin Nan also nodded with a smile: "It's a debut film for a director, I will definitely go to support it. But after the two films collide, *Operation Meigonghe* will not show mercy."
