Chapter 899

……

"Around 9 a. m., Lin Dao Nan, Liu Yifei, Zhou Xun, and Shu Chang, accompanied by a group of accompanying personnel, appeared at the Beijing airport; the *Marriage Story* crew will officially set off today for Lido Island to participate in the Venice International Film Festival..."

"As of now, Director Ning Hao, Xing Aina, Huang Bo, Wu Jing, Xie Nan... Huang Xiaoming... Zhang Ziyi and nearly a hundred other filmmakers in the industry have forwarded Lin Dao Nan's Weibo, strongly recommending the urban fantasy comedy romance film *Hanson and the Beast*..."

……

The *Marriage Story* crew boarded the plane and flew to Venice, and Old Lin set off half an hour earlier than his son and daughter-in-law, boarding the plane home.

Therefore, the liveliness online, they are all unable to see.

"Oh, did Lin Dao film a sugar-sprinkling film for us? Unaccountably looking forward to it, is there?"

"Wrong, the film is directed by Director Ning Hao, Lin Dao and Xixi are the male and female leads. Comedy + sugar-sprinkling romance, this lineup and combination, absolutely no problem..."

"I swear, it's been so many years, this is really the first time I've seen such a film promotion. Lin Dao is so brave, hmm, confident to the point of excess, but it doesn't give people the feeling of being conceited and pretending at all!"

"Nonsense, the word-of-mouth and box office influence Lin Nan has accumulated since entering the industry 15 years ago, that's not a joke.

And he is really respectful to the audience, and sincere enough, just telling you clearly, this is a sugar-sprinkling fantasy romance comedy film, no big principles, no moral kidnapping... If you don't like it, don't enter."

"I'll analyze a few points: directed by Director Ning, produced by Xing Aina, starring Lin Nan and Liu Yifei, Shen Teng playing the mental patient villain... especially Xixi playing the nine-tailed fox... this film is two words: perfect."

"I admit this point, her appearance is really too punchy, and it matches the nine-tailed fox perfectly, full of fairy spirit..."

In one morning, Lin Nan's long Weibo article last night pulled the promotional effect of *Hanson and the Beast* to the full.

The entire domestic film and television circle was stunned by his operation, it turns out film promotion can be done like this?

"Don't think too much, this method can only be used by him, other directors in the circle are not suitable at all, if they blindly learn from Lin Nan, it will definitely be the ending of drawing a tiger but ending up like a dog."

"Because as the internet said, Lin Nan can do this and succeed, relying on the word-of-mouth and influence he has accumulated over so many years, and enough respect for the audience.

Do you believe it, if Chen Kaige, Feng Xiaogang, and the others were allowed to learn, they would definitely be sprayed to death by the audience. Even Zhang Yimou would inevitably be mocked, of course, this is not his style..."

China Film Group, in the chairman's office, La Peikang analyzed quite confidently. And at this moment, sitting opposite him were some of the main creators of *Sky Hunter*, all accompanying with smiles and nodding.

After careful consideration and communication and negotiation with other producers, La Peikang finally decided to take Li Chen and the others to the Venice International Film Festival... adding a film promotion booth.

"It can be seen that when Lin Dao Nan made this film, he was completely doing it according to his interest and original intention; as for how much box office there is, he might not even care much."

The people from China Film Group analyzed with a smile. Yesterday, Xi'an Film just sent a note to the group, China Film Group will be the main distribution force of *Pacific Rim 2* in the country, and Enlight will play a supporting role.

"Hmm, it looks like he really has this mentality. Alright, let's stop here today. Li Chen, you guys come to China Film Group to gather tomorrow morning... Let's set off together."

"Okay, Chairman La."

……

After a 10-hour flight, after waking up, Lin Nan's group had already landed in Milan, Italy.

Outside the airport, Jiang Xuerou had been waiting for a long time with people. Then it was another two-hour drive, taking a total of 12 hours, and only then did everyone board Venice Lido Island.

At this time, it was just past 1 p. m. Italian time. And on Lido Island, a large number of filmmakers, crews, actors, stars, and media from all over the world had already gathered.

Looking at it, the blue sky and white clouds, the pleasant climate of the island, is the best time and place for holding a film festival and vacation!

"The 'Chinese elements' of this year's Venice International Film Festival are more than in previous years, just the domestic stars I've seen in these few days are too many to count."

On the way back to the hotel, Jiang Xuerou teased with hidden meaning.

Lin Nan and the others all understood what she meant, the three major film festivals are indeed getting more and more lively year by year, and the number of people is increasing year by year...

Because the red carpet has started to publicly "sell tickets," and the number of "tickets" open to the public has also been increasing year by year.

"Lin? Crystal?"

"Wow, long time no see, James..."

Turning the corner and meeting James Wan, Lin Nan and Liu Yifei were very happy, and also introduced Zhou Xun and Shu Chang to him. Zhou Xun seemed to have some popularity, James Wan had heard of her.

After chatting for a few minutes and making an appointment to meet another day, Lin Nan and the others waved goodbye to James Wan, the latter was going to surf on the beach, his wife was already over there.

"Hmm? John Woo is also here?" Outside the resort hotel, Lin Nan scanned John Woo's personal poster.

"Lin Dao, that film *Manhunt* of his seems to represent Hong Kong films and was shortlisted for the exhibition unit. On the China Film Group side, Chairman La coming personally also has this reason inside."

"Seems to have started filming in June last year, this is really a long time, I almost forgot this film. It's the New Year's slot, right?"

"Hmm, it's set for this year's New Year's slot. November 24th, it counts as the opening film of the New Year's slot."

"Then wouldn't Director John Woo be very miserable? Films like *Never Say Die* and *Legend of the Demon Cat* are afraid they can grind *Manhunt* into slag!" Fine, even Zhou Xun, who has a good relationship with the Hong Kong circle, started teasing.

"Alright, enter the hotel, grab every minute to play these two days." Liu Yifei shook her wrists, pointing to the hotel with a smile.

And Lin Nan looked at Jiang Xuerou and instructed: "Have someone go to the organizing committee to report for the crew, we have arrived."

"No problem, I will have someone go over there to sign in later." Jiang Xuerou responded immediately.

……

"Lin Nan arrived?"

In another hotel, Zhang Yimou, who had just met Takeshi Kitano, turned around and heard the news about Lin Nan.

"*Marriage Story* crew arrived an hour ago, it's already spread. After all, it's a film in the main competition unit this year, and Lin Dao is a Golden Lion director."

Zhang Mo had a smile on her face, saying quite seriously.

Her mood these few days has been very good, because Zhang Yimou took her to meet many international great directors, great producers, and screenwriters, and unlike the past, this time it was intentional to broaden her connections...

You have to know that in the past 15 years, Zhang Yimou only came to A-list film festivals once or twice, and almost never... or rather, there was fundamentally no concept in his brain of paving the way for her, this daughter...

And now, after the successive "disasters" of Zhang Weiping and LeEco, he woke up instead! Regarding this point, Zhang Mo really didn't know what to say, in short, it was very speechless.

"Later, we'll go over and walk around." Zhang Yimou instructed calmly. In Venice this year, the domestic eyes are on Lin Nan's side.

"Hmm, good."

……

Sure enough, actresses are busy.

The group had been in the hotel for less than two hours, and the brand partners of Liu Yifei, Zhou Xun, and Shu Chang contacted them;

They need to prepare for the activities in the next few days in advance, involving outdoor filming of advertising blockbusters, attending press conferences, media interviews, watching fashion shows... In short, it's very busy, almost every day there are things!

Looking at Lin Nan, this film director, he seems to be a bit idle. At least besides red carpet matters, almost no work will come to find him.

Of course, copyright sales are an exception, but this doesn't count as a very busy thing; because Jiang Xuerou is docking with copyright parties, Lin Nan only needs to screen and make the final decision.

A pile of work plans were thrown over, the three ladies who originally planned to go out to the beach to play for a while had no mood; at least this afternoon and evening they had no interest, might as well stay in the hotel to overcome jet lag.

After all, the three of them are not like Lin Nan who slept all the way on the plane, but chatted for a long time, the real rest time was probably only less than four hours.

……

With a 7-hour time difference, when it was just dawn in Venice, it was already noon in the country.

And the first thing Lin Nan did after getting up in the morning was undoubtedly checking the daily box office of *Wolf Warrior 2* yesterday.

On the 26th, *Wolf Warrior 2* grossed 32.67 million; the total box office accumulated over 31 days, breaking 5.5 billion yesterday, reaching 5.53 billion!

There is no doubt that there was another morning headline and trending search in the country. Just because *Wolf Warrior 2* forcibly raised the record of *Operation Mekong* by more than 2.1 billion.

"*Wolf Warrior 2* is also fast! After 18 hours when *Hanson and the Beast* is released, it will also take away a lot of its screening, it's destined not to reach 6 billion..." Lin Nan muttered in his heart.

"Up? Then hurry up and eat breakfast. I and Sister Xun, Changchang have all agreed, preparing to play well for a day today, tomorrow we will be busy with announcements. Do you want to go out and stroll with us?" Liu Yifei stood at the bedroom door, tying her hair while asking.

"Hmm, together, anyway, it's idle." Lin Nan nodded without hesitation, and immediately got up to wash.

The four of them, with assistants, left the hotel on time at 9 a. m.

And Jiang Xuerou still guarded the film exhibition area, busy receiving endless reporters and copyright merchants; although the film festival hadn't officially opened, copyright trading is not limited by time.

Furthermore, Lin Nan is a well-known figure in the three major film festivals, and there will naturally be no shortage of copyright merchants running over to ask for exhibition tickets.

And these people almost all have the intention to quote; of course, they can only quote after the closing ceremony awards ceremony, this is Lin Nan's practice.

At the same time, on the other side...

"He has arrived, he arrived yesterday afternoon."

"I know, wait until the film festival officially opens."

"Good."
