Chapter 972: Box Office; Application!

The next morning, which was the second day of the Lunar New Year.

The first-day box office of several films streaked across the sky like meteors, forcibly breaking the dominance of the thick Spring Festival atmosphere over all internet entertainment news, and air-dropping into the top five of the hot search list.

Yesterday, the first day of the Spring Festival slot, the total daily box office was 1.04 billion.

Among them, *Operation Red Sea* forcefully grabbed 352 million, ranking first in the daily box office list; *Detective Chinatown 2* followed closely behind, cutting down 340 million.

*Monster Hunt 2* lingered in third place with a box office of 230 million, pulled a full 110 million box office gap by the runner-up.

As for that film *The Ancestors*, which had been like a joke from the beginning, it indeed handed in a joke-like box office answer sheet on the first day of the Spring Festival slot: 17.42 million.

The entire film circle was stunned by the box office data of the three films, and the industry was in a boil.

Because if it develops according to this daily box office trend, as long as the word-of-mouth doesn't collapse, then let alone how much total box office *Monster Hunt 2* will have in the end, anyway, *Operation Red Sea* and *Detective Chinatown 2* absolutely have the opportunity to stand at the threshold of the 3 billion box office mark and clamor.

The latter two can even likely kick open the city gate of the 3 billion box office mark and continue to sing and advance, attacking cities and seizing territories!

And how is the word-of-mouth of these films? After one day of theatrical release, there is already a rough conclusion on the internet.

"Strongly recommend *Operation Red Sea*. Director Lin Nan didn't fool people. The big scene shots in this film are really stimulating and bloody enough, even more hardcore than *The Taking of Tiger Mountain* and *Operation Mekong*. It's a film that real men should watch!"

"Warships, have you seen them? Looking at the history of Chinese films for so many years, when has a commercial film ever used real stuff like warships? Type 054A missile frigate, this is the only one, no other!"

"Overall, although *Detective Chinatown 2* changed directors, the quality is still the same, the comedic effect is still the same... Support Wang Baoqiang!"

"Can prepare for *Detective Chinatown 3*, don't let everyone wait too long..."

"In all fairness, Tony Leung's addition didn't really add much eye-catching stuff to *Monster Hunt 2*. This film is also not suitable for adults, but it is indeed suitable for bringing children together for family fun."

"After watching 'The Ancestors' directed by Guo Degang, I couldn't help but curse the 'eighteen generations of ancestors' of someone! How brain-dead must I be to have bought a ticket to come and watch this stream-of-consciousness crosstalk routine?"

"He is the only person in the industry from the crosstalk circle to cross over into directing, and he consistently makes terrible films; it really is quite surreal. But fortunately, Director Guo Degang doesn't screw over investors too much, because Deyun Society is the main controller."

"If *The Ancestors* were released with *Pure Heart: Dream of the Entertainment Circle*, it might really be able to cheat some box office with the lineup of so many first-line actors. But coming to the Spring Festival slot? Hehe, it really was compared to slag."

"Rational analysis, if *Monster Hunt 2* doesn't perform 'sassy operations,' then its box office will likely be swallowed up by *Operation Red Sea* and *Detective Chinatown 2* as the release time passes, being constantly eroded in terms of screening rates and market share..."

"The official Weibo of the Movie Channel is pinning *Operation Red Sea*..."

"Two films took 67% of the daily box office market, and it is certain that this box office share is just the beginning and will continue to rise."

Ren Zhonglun called Lin Nan early in the morning with an excited tone and agitated emotions.

Because apart from Lin Nan Film, Shanghai Film is the only capital party that invested in both *Operation Red Sea* and *Detective Chinatown 2*.

And just in terms of the first-day box office data, it has forcefully demonstrated a set fact to the industry: this Spring Festival slot, Shanghai Film made a killing!

"Chairman Ren, you should at least wait until the Spring Festival is over before calling to talk about work. You know this seriously affects my New Year holiday, right?" Lin Nan joked.

"You are a killjoy. I came to share the joy with you, you should feel happy on top of happy."

"Then I have already felt it, so I won't delay your time, Chairman Ren. Let's hang up quickly, I have other things..."

"Sigh sigh sigh, don't, I still have an idea I want to talk to you about."

Hearing this, Lin Nan couldn't help but sneer in his heart: Why don't you pretend anymore? Keep pretending! Sharing joy, the ghost believes your ghost talk!

"Speak." Concise and comprehensive, Lin Nan occupied the initiative in momentum.

"How about lending Guo Fan and Lu Yang to me?"

"Don't bother."

"I'm talking about serious business."

"Chairman Ren, do you think I look like I'm joking?" Lin Nan asked back.

"This year, Shanghai Film is preparing to prepare a main melody film itself, needing a director who can be brought out. You, Shanghai Film doesn't dare to think about, but Guo Fan and Lu Yang can come to me to strike while the iron is hot; *Operation Red Sea* is so successful..."

"Last time, Director Zhang also told me similar words, but I rejected the invitation for the 70th-anniversary tribute film on behalf of Guo Fan and Lu Yang! Both of them have other arrangements this year and have no time to deal with outside projects."

Lin Nan interrupted Ren Zhonglun's lobbying in a kill-shot manner, and the latter's voice also stopped abruptly. It is estimated that he was directly stunned.

"Chairman Ren, speak?" Lin Nan greeted with a smile.

"What to say, what else is there to say? Let's leave it at that, I'm busy. By the way, when we establish the project later, you can also come..."

Lin Nan admitted that his hand was fast. When he heard the sentence "Let's leave it at that," he subconsciously wanted to hang up the phone. Even if his brain reacted that Ren Zhonglun still had words behind, it was too late, and the action of hanging up the phone was not retracted.

"Let's talk about the future later, it's estimated to be early." After muttering with a smile, Lin Nan didn't think about calling back; taking advantage of the one day left, he prepared to help Old Lin do more work.

"Lin Nan, the leaders of Xi'an Film are here."

Forget it, Lin Nan had just thought about helping Old Lin do work, and heard his voice. Good fellow, how many years has it been, Xi'an Film is truly persistent?!

Walking quickly toward the front yard, Lin Nan saw Director Zhang of Xi'an Film directing several employees to unload goods at a glance. That's right, it was really big bags and small bags unloading goods.

The strong performance of *Operation Red Sea* and *Detective Chinatown 2*, although it made the entire industry feel excited, for some companies and people in the industry, it was not so happy to see it happen.

Whether it is resistance, envy, or mixed feelings, there are many.

Such as Enlight, Haizheng, Wanda, and other parties, naturally, it is full of laughter. And companies like Edko, Huayi, etc., without exception, are all cold eyes, negative emotions...

As for those with mixed feelings, it must be China Film.

For the dazzling performance of *Operation Red Sea*, is Chairman La happy? Definitely happy.

But how much does this have to do with China Film? Can China Film snatch Haizheng's "achievement"? Cannot, and dare not! The achievement of this film cannot be written about in the substantive report that China Film gives to the above.

Because from the establishment of the project to the completion of the film, China Film did not participate in any substantive work. How to divide the credit? Can't say that China Film cheered on the sidelines, so the credit is great?

I am afraid that if you rub a little bit of achievement that does not belong to you, Haizheng will turn their faces!

"Tsk tsk tsk, Uncle La is afraid that he is very uncomfortable at this moment. The comparison between the two films is too scary. The first-day box office of *Operation Red Sea* is higher than the total box office of *Sky Hunter*!

By the way, if the box office of *Dying to Survive* can reach 3 billion, let me calculate... Good fellow, I can get 240 million just from the box office share! If you add the trailer ads, oh my, hehe..."

For the chattering of Han Jia's daughter on the side, Han Sanping didn't pay any attention at all, and didn't want to pay attention. His daughter is good at everything, but her personality is too careless, and she is also very money-minded!

"This group of people has truly engraved the bad habits of the entertainment circle into their bones, extravagant and lewd, bullies and ruffians..." Not long after, Old Han Sanping's sudden scolding woke Han Jia's daughter from her "daydream."

"Dad, who are you talking about?" Little Han student turned her head and asked curiously.

"Who else, that group of people from Huayi. This kind of female artist who has just started to develop and has no status is indeed like a plaything in their eyes..."

Leaning to Han Sanping's side, Han Jia's daughter saw the entertainment news her own father was talking about.

In the afternoon, the entertainment headlines and the top of the hot search list on the entire internet were a "stolen" video...

Director Feng grandly invited and organized a group of Beijing circle big shots to hold a Spring Festival party banquet in his villa last night, and there were also many young actresses and female artists accompanying them.

The drunk Xiaogang scolded the Feng Girl who was wearing an evening dress and stepping on high heels, to dance for a group of old perverts...

The woman was obviously resistant and stammered for a long time, but the scolding grew louder; there was also a group of big shots who were not young and had clear voices that could be recognized, forcibly booing and dragging on the side...

In this video, on this occasion, it is obvious that young female artists are just a dish at the banquet.

I have to say, Chen Daoming is still quite powerful. After repeated dissuasion was useless, he directly scolded: "Are you fucking blind? She is an actress, not selling smiles..."

But it was still useless. After all, those present were big shots whose status in the circle was no weaker than his. Of course, their age was also no weaker than his.

The big director naturally didn't want to turn against Chen Daoming, so he could only continue to aim at the female artist: "If I tell you to dance, you dance, why are you so ignorant!"

In the video, the atmosphere at the scene seemed to freeze in an instant, and a group of young female artists, especially the Feng Girl, were already scared pale. She could only bite the bullet and change her words, taking off her high heels alone...

Maybe it was to take care of the young person's dignity, Chen Daoming took the initiative to accompany the Feng Girl in *Youth*. One danced barefoot, and the other played the piano to accompany.

I have to say, based on the content of the video released by this stolen shot, Chen Daoming really formed a sharp contrast with Feng Xiaogang and a group of people, looking like a senior in the industry.

But it was this video that directly sent Director Feng and a young actress, along with a group of Beijing circle big shots, to the entertainment headlines of the entire internet on the afternoon of the second day of the Spring Festival.

Curses also emerged overwhelmingly.

Thinking about it, the person who stole the shot probably won't appear in Director Feng or the small circle's "circle of friends" anymore, right? After all, a video can be said to have directly torn off the veil of their "unspoken rules."

The third day of the Spring Festival, which was the morning of the 18th, Lin Nan was driven to the airport by Old Lin himself.

Sitting in the car, Director Lin really couldn't suppress the desire to complain: Comparing the time of leaving and coming back, why is the treatment so different?

Then, then he was retorted by a bad-tempered sentence: If you can sit, sit; if you don't want to sit in the car, you can get off now!

Good fellow, this is halfway there! No way, Lin Nan immediately shut up, um, and called Liu Yifei.

"Is the flight taking off? Then I will go out to the airport now to wait for you."

The moment the phone was connected, Miss Liu's slightly magnetic nasal sound came from the phone. Lin Nan could faintly hear laughter coming from around, saying that they were having a big meal at noon to entertain the granddaughter-in-law...

"Not yet. An hour and a half flight, it won't land until 11:30. I am on the way to the airport now, Dad is driving..."

"Dad, then please drive slowly."

"Eh, good, hahaha..."

Watching Old Lin's Sichuan opera face change, Lin Nan couldn't help but want to roll his eyes.

After a few greetings, Liu Qianqian continued to chat with Lin Nan. It could be heard that she had definitely spent the last two days at home very comfortably, and it must have been a lazy and free life.

"Lin Nan, then I will go out to pick you up at 10 o'clock sharp. Oh by the way, I specifically looked at the movie news just now, the second-day box office is also very powerful, hehe... *Operation Red Sea* is 365 million, *Detective Chinatown 2* is 326 million, that *Monster Hunt 2* has already fallen to 173 million. A group of leads are now posting several Weibo posts on time every day, very lively..."

Liu Yifei didn't mention *The Ancestors* because it was indeed not very mainstream. Its second-day box office had fallen from 17.42 million to 11.04 million, "Director Guo Degang" had once again failed to break into the film circle!

Hong Kong.

"Theft of box office is definitely not allowed to happen. We have guaranteed and promised this dozens of times in public. Once a problem occurs and we are caught on the spot, the reputation of the entire company will face the serious consequence of collapse."

"But looking at the current market and daily box office trend, the situation is indeed very unfavorable for us. At least in terms of box office data, we are at an absolute disadvantage. And the siphon effect has already begun, and we are at the passive end..."

The office was chattering endlessly, and the big boss was also sitting in the main seat, frowning and thinking.

After a long time, a light cough made the surroundings silent instantly, and everyone looked in one direction.

"Things promised many times must naturally be done, but what about those that have not been promised or guaranteed?"

No one spoke, everyone was looking at the big boss. Although they all faintly guessed the following, some things can only be said by the big boss.

"Reasonably and appropriately utilizing the time in the second half of the night, having 'good-looking' data is also a means of promotion.

No theater chain will refuse this kind of thing, because first, we didn't do anything unfavorable to other films in the same slot, and second, we are paying out of our own pockets... Go do it."

"Okay."

"By the way, Chairman Jiang, there is one more thing. Should we apply for an extension key this time? We can't give all the good policies to mainland films, right? That would be a bit too much.

Films controlled by our Hong Kong side rarely have such good box office trends. Last time it was because we were caught by Lin Nan Film that we didn't get an extension, but this time we have made up our minds not to touch the box office of other films..."

"Um, apply." ===== CHAPTER 973 =====
