Chapter 360: Entertainment in Bongisto
“Mhm.”Arthur nodded.
Alice turned back to look at Eileen, her eyes bright with excitement.“Sister Eileen, I’ll go with you guys tomorrow!”
“Wonderful! I promise I’ll make sure you have the time of your life tomorrow~! And Arthur—you can rest easy leaving little Alice in my care from now on! I’ll look after her like she’s my own!”
“Don’t talk like you’re gonna kidnap her.”
“Hahaha! Just kidding! Little Alice—want another glass of juice? Sister’ll order you one more.”
“Thank you, Sister Eileen.”
“You’re so adorable~!! Arthur, c’mon—just let me have little Alice already, huh?”
“We’re still on this topic......”
“You’re such a stick-in-the-mud.”
“Eileen—quit muttering over there! C’mon, drink up!”
“Hey, you lush! Stop shoving that wine at me! Wait a second—are you even listening to me?! Hey! Russell, you absolute idiot......”
Time slipped away amid the tavern’s raucous laughter and chatter.
By midnight, the seven of them stumbled out of the tavern, the celebration finally drawing to a close.
“Urk——”Outside the tavern door, Frots and Lucien stood by the wall, supporting a retching Russell as he hunched over, emptying the contents of his stomach.
Eileen shook her head, utterly exasperated. “Told you not to drink so much! Serves you right......”
“Sister Eileen! Sister Hulim! See you tomorrow!”Alice, in her wheelchair pushed by Arthur, waved at them cheerfully.
“Bye!” Eileen called over her shoulder, “Meet us at the Central Square tomorrow morning, little Alice! And you too, Hulim! See you then~!”
“Mhm. See you tomorrow.” Hulim Heyerar nodded.
Then—“Urk......”With Russell’s nonstop retching as their backdrop, the group split up, vanishing into the winding streets and alleys of the city.
......
The next day dawned bright and clear.
“Morning, Hulim~!”Eileen greeted her, dressed in a pretty casual dress instead of her usual mage’s tunic.
“Morning, Eileen.”Hulim replied.
Eileen looked her up and down, her eyes lingering on the weapons Hulim still carried with her.“You’re still carrying your weapons even on your day off, Hulim. Why not leave them at the inn for a bit?”
“No need. I regard them as my partners.”
“Ah...... I-I see,” Eileen blinked in surprise, a warm smile tugging at her lips. “I never would’ve guessed you’re the type who regards your weapons as partners and cherishes them so deeply, Hulim.”
Hulim: “......”
It felt like Eileen had gotten the wrong idea...... Oh well. Explaining would be too much trouble. Let her think what she wanted.
“Sorry—did I keep you waiting?”
Just then, Arthur wheeled Alice over to where the two girls stood.
“Alice’s here! Not at all! We still have plenty of time before our meeting~!”Eileen exclaimed, darting forward and playfully snatching the wheelchair’s handles from Arthur’s grasp.

“Alright, that’s my cue to bow out! You two can take it from here.”
“Don’t be in such a hurry to leave~.”Arthur knelt down, gently ruffling Alice’s hair.“Be on your best behavior today, okay, Alice?”
“Yes, I will, Brother.”Alice nodded earnestly.
Eileen rolled her eyes at Arthur, feigning annoyance.“Honestly, Arthur—you’re such a worrywart, you know that?”
“Alright, alright,” Arthur held up his hands in surrender, standing back up. “I’m off then. You three have fun!”
“Goodbye, Brother!”
Once Arthur had left,Eileen pushed Alice’s wheelchair forward, setting off at a brisk pace.
“Let’s go! Bongisto isn’t just famous as the Adventurer’s Capital—it’s also a renowned Entertainment Capital! Today, I’m gonna show you two all the best spots in town!”
Adventurers were mostly folks who believed in living for the moment, so thrilling forms of entertainment were all the rage here.
This had caught the eye of entertainment merchants from all over the world, who’d flocked to the city in droves to set up shop.
As a result, the variety of entertainment options in Bongisto was absolutely dazzling—so much so that even seasoned adventurers who’d seen it all couldn’t name every single attraction the city had to offer.
Stretching out before them was a sprawling district, covering over a dozen intersecting streets—all lined with nothing but entertainment venues and shops. And this was just one of many such districts scattered throughout Bongisto.
Under Eileen’s enthusiastic guidance, Hulim and Alice entered the bustling Entertainment District.
“Here—try these! They’re Cloud Candy, the latest craze around here!”
Eileen had wandered off for a moment, and now returned holding three identical skewers, each topped with a fluffy, cloud-like treat.
“Thank you, Sister Eileen!”Alice took hers with a polite smile.
Hulim stared at the wiggly Cloud Candy on her skewer, curiosity piqued.“What’s so special about these?”
“Ah, this~,” Eileen grinned, demonstrating. “You’ll see if you open your mouth like this.”
Eileen leaned in and took a gentle bite at the Cloud Candy. The moment her lips touched it, a tiny flake broke off—and floated up into the air, just like a real little cloud.
“Wow! It turned into a cloud!”Alice’s single visible sapphire eye sparkled with wonder as she watched the flake drift upward.
“Hmph! But that’s not all.”Eileen said, then opened her mouth and gave a soft little suck.
The floating cloud flake drifted straight into her mouth.
She pursed her lips, savoring the flavor for a moment.“Mmm~! Delicious.”
“See? Now you know how to eat it!”
Hulim looked at the Cloud Candy in her hand, instantly understanding how it worked.
It was a type of magical confection, made using a special culinary technique— a clever little trick, nothing too difficult to replicate. If she’d wanted to, she could’ve easily made something like this back at the inn.
But there was no real need for that.
This treat’s popularity here didn’t stem from its taste—it was all about how fun it was. That was why adventurers loved it so much.
“I get it now! This Cloud Candy is so fun!”Alice exclaimed, then wasted no time taking a bite of her own.
A tiny cloud flake broke off from her candy and floated up—but instead of eating it right away, Alice kept taking small bites, one after another.
In no time at all, her Cloud Candy had shrunk noticeably, and a cluster of tiny white clouds floated around her, like a little personal sky.
“Little Alice—if you don’t eat them soon, the clouds will float away! You gotta hurry and catch them!”
“I know, Sister Eileen...... But they’re so pretty. I hate to eat them.”
“Haha~! I get it! They are way more cute than they are tasty! C’mon—I’ll try it too!”
With that, Eileen followed Alice’s lead, nibbling at her Cloud Candy until a few tiny clouds were floating around her as well.
“Hey~! This is pretty fun! It feels like I’m a giant walking around with my own little clouds!”
Eileen giggled, reaching out to poke one of the fluffy little clouds drifting beside her.
Just then, a gentle breeze swept through the street.
The tiny clouds floating around the two girls were carried away by the wind, drifting higher and higher, until they blended into the real clouds in the sky above.
“Ah...... They flew away......”Alice stared up at the sky, her voice tinged with disappointment.
Eileen looked up at the clouds too, a soft smile on her face.“Well now—they really are clouds, aren’t they? Not just Cloud Candy waiting to be eaten.”
“But don’t worry!”Eileen grinned, pointing behind them.“We can just buy more!”
Looking back, the street was lined with Cloud Candy vendors—they were absolutely everywhere, dotted among the crowd like little fluffy white gems.
But these vendors were just the cherry on top of the cake in this bustling street. The real eye-catchers were the countless entertainment venues that drew crowds of people, their neon signs and loud music echoing through the air.
Two minutes later, each of the three girls held a brand-new skewer of Cloud Candy.
With tiny white clouds floating above their heads, they wandered through the lively streets, laughing and chatting—just three girls enjoying a day out, not a world-famous high-rank adventurer, a plucky mage, and a sweet little girl in a wheelchair.
And they weren’t alone. All around them, other people wandered the streets with their own little floating clouds, turning the entire Entertainment District into a sky full of tiny, edible dreams.
