Even if I die.\" The first said:\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"So would I.\" The other said this while looking at me. \"And I would take part in murdering their entire bloodline.\"\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>And it dawned on me that these people had sentenced me.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Nothing I would ever do would ever make a difference. My fate had been decided even before I was born for who I was.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>They hated me and would die even to kill my family.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>I said nothing and laid my head against the wall.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Then I felt a pain that had been reoccurring and touched my side.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Then, I noticed that I had been stabled on the side.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Where did this even come from? I couldn’t recall.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Then, I instantly remembered that when I had been taken captive, the rogue wolf had mistakenly sliced through me.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>I had ignored it and imagined it was just a simple cut.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>But looking at my bleeding side,\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>I realized it was more.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>If I didn’t do something about it, I would die.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>I went up to the door and knocked.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"Hello,\" I said. \"Please, I’ve been injured. I would appreciate it if I could get some water.\"\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>They ignored me and pretended like they didn’t hear me.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"Please,\" I begged. \"My wound could be infected, and I could die.\"\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"Then die.\" Came the only response I was given.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"At least that would do us better.\" The other said.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Then they turned around and ignored me.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>I turned away, weak to the bones, and sat back down on the cold floor.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>A few hours later, a young girl, probably around thirteen or fourteen, entered the cell.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"What’s that?\" one of the guards asked.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>She was holding a tray of something I could not see.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"Food for the prisoner.\" The girl replied.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>The guard frowned at her. \"Why is she being served? She should starve to death.\"\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"Go!\" the second guard said. A dangerous enemy does not need food.\"\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"It was my order.\" Came the response. \"They came from Alpha Xaden himself.\"\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>I knew why Xaden was giving me food. It was because he didn’t want me to die.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>He wanted me to live through the entire punishment he had ready for me.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>The guard grunted. \"Fine. The dog is in there.\"\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>The girl proceeded to walk ahead, but they stopped her.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"Hold on a minute.\" One of the guards said,\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Then he rummaged through the tray and picked out some cheese. \"A dog does not need an extra delicacy,\" he said.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>And then he popped it into his mouth.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>The other guard complained.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"What about me?\" He asked, annoyed, and then fished through the tray’s contents.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>He looked at the bread. \"Aw, it’s disgusting! It’s got a mole in it! It looks like food for a dog.\"\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"It tastes like food for a dog, \" the first guard said as he ate the cheese.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"Go.\" The second guard sighed, and the girl left and approached me.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>She bent down, and I could see the fear in her eyes, and I felt weak.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>This little child, too, was scared of me.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>She said nothing as she took out the cup of water, dropped it on the floor for me, and, finally, the bread.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>I smiled at her. \"Thank you.\"\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>She looked shocked at first, and then she quickly withdrew.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"Hey, no talking to that dog!\" One of the guards ordered, and I jumped in fright.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>She said nothing, and she gathered the tray and quickly left.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>I drank some water and then used it to clean up my wound.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>I tore a piece of my dress and used it to wrap the side of my tummy where I had been cut to stop the bleeding.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Then I fell to the floor, crossed my legs, and resumed eating the bread.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>It was small and had some green moles inside.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>I picked it out and ate it up.
