Chapter 41: Insights in the Immortal Pool, Traces of the Heavenly Dao
Mengchen walked along the path, as if placed within a celestial palace fairyland, with immortal cranes crying out long and clear, feeling the drifting immortal Qi.
A multitude of ethereal fairies danced amidst exotic flowers and strange clusters, setting the fairies off to be incomparable.
From time to time, divine light rain fell, giving one a sense of transcendence.
"Heizi, look, isn't this Butian Sect much better than the Western Sect? If one could see so many fairies dancing every time one opened their eyes, that would be such an enviable thing."
Heizi had long since woken up, but it remained immersed in a state of being neither asleep nor awake, unwilling to pay him any mind.
But upon hearing the voice, it still slowly opened its hazy eyes, yawned lazily in Mengchen's arms, took a nap, and then scanned him nonchalantly, responding: "What is so good about looking at them? It's not as practical as taking a nap."
Having said that, it slowly closed its hazy eyes again, wanting to continue its sleep; it felt that being held like this to sleep was actually quite comfortable.
But just as its sleepiness grew, the back of its head suffered a slap, which completely scared its sleepiness away.
"Slap!"
"Wrong answer!" Mengchen's voice brushed past its ear.
Heizi instantly bared its fangs and brandished its claws, black lines surged on its forehead, and it made a fierce threat: "You dead bald guy, try hitting me again."
Being hit like that suddenly while in a daze, even someone with a good temper would likely find it unbearable.
Let alone the cub of the Ten Fiends Jiuyou Ao, its violent temper flared up instantly.
"Oh my! You haven't grown a temper in over three days, have you!"
Heizi's sudden words and actions also made Mengchen feel a sudden shock.
To actually dare to call him a dead bald guy, could this go unpunished? So, very quickly, after Mengchen reacted, he swung another slap, aiming exactly at its forehead.
"Slap!"
Facing the palm Mengchen slapped over, Heizi simply did not dodge and chose to take it head-on. Afterward, its two long canine teeth were exposed even further, and its tone became even colder.
"Dead bald guy, if you have the ability, hit me again!"
"Slap!" Mengchen slapped down once more.
Regarding this strange request from Heizi, he naturally would not refuse.
Having been slapped repeatedly, Heizi bared its fangs and brandished its claws, slowly standing up in Mengchen's arms, staring blankly.
"Dead bald guy, you've got guts."
Although it still looked fierce this time, it did not say anything about hitting it again.
But its next move was truly enough to make one's jaw drop.
Only a 'tss' sound was heard, and a foul-smelling, pale yellow liquid was shot out from its body, causing the palm Mengchen was using to hold it to be completely soaked.
Having finished this operation, Heizi knew the severity of the situation, so it instantly jumped to the ground, sneered at Mengchen for a moment, then pricked up its ears and began to flee forward.
"You little Heizi, you actually dare to pee on me!" Mengchen shouted in surprise.
Bringing the contaminated hand slightly closer, a sudden stench almost suffocated him.
"You brat, just you wait. See if I don't properly deal with you after I wash up."
Fortunately, this Butian Sect was full of immortal pools. Mengchen walked quickly toward an immortal pool, washed off the urine Heizi had left on his hand, and then dove headfirst into the center of the immortal pool.
Wandering comfortably within the immortal pool...
"As expected of the Butian Sect! This pool water actually contains such abundant divine substances."
Being in the immortal pool, Mengchen felt that a large amount of divine substances in the pool water were actively approaching him, making him feel comfortable and calm, as if he were about to fall into a strange state of sudden enlightenment, and it even vaguely had the effect of nourishing the vitality within his body. Such a strange immortal pool, which can make one's heart as calm as water and also nourish the body's vitality, is indeed an excellent field for seclusion and comprehending Dharma.
Being in the immortal pool, Mengchen gradually sat cross-legged and floating, slowly closed his eyes, and sank into a strange and profound state of enlightenment.
The divine substances of the immortal pool continuously flowed into his body, as if causing the Supreme Bone Runes within his body to produce a slight resonance.
Mengchen, who possesses six Supreme Bones, has currently only barely mastered two, which are the left arm Supreme Bone and the right arm Supreme Bone. As for the other two leg bones, the chest bone, and the head bone, he has yet to comprehend the profound meaning of the Runes within them.
Now, relying on the miraculous effect of this immortal pool, it is a good opportunity for comprehension.
In this profound state of enlightenment, Mengchen's heart was calm and his mind clear. The Runes on the head Supreme Bone emerged in an instant, rushing into his limbs and bones, blending and flowing with his blood.
His body and mind were now clear and empty, with all his consciousness focused on the flowing Runes.
He had almost reached a state of selflessness; this was a deeper level of comprehension.
Inside his body, the Supreme Bone Runes were constructed together like characters, as brilliant as the morning glow, as dense and shining as the stars, with holy Qi surging of its own accord.
"Boom!"
Accompanied by the gradual emergence of the holy Qi, a sound of bells and drums rang out within his body, shaking his spirit and consciousness, yet it was invisible and traceless.
Mengchen suppressed his restlessness, gathered his consciousness, focused all his spirit on comprehending the Supreme Bone Runes constructed together, and memorized them. One after another, symbols condensed into form, manifested within his body, and were firmly grasped.
How terrifying are the treasures nurtured by the innate Supreme Bone? The first Supreme Bone technique Mengchen comprehended, Eight Divisions of the Heavenly Dragon, and the second Supreme Bone technique, Red Lotus Dharma Finger, are the best proof.
But while terrifying, they were also complex to the extreme. All the Runes intertwined together like the stars in the sky, generally very difficult to memorize.
Mengchen did not know when he would have such a good opportunity again if he missed this chance for comprehension in the immortal pool, so he cast aside all distracting thoughts, leaving none behind, just so as not to waste this great opportunity and waste the Supreme Technique bestowed upon him by Heaven.
For a long time, he remained silent in the immortal pool, devoting his whole heart and soul to the world within his body.
The divine substances contained in the immortal pool were autonomously washing and nourishing the vitality within his body; this was the best aid for his comprehension.
He was infatuated and immersed in it, studying it carefully, observing it earnestly, and memorizing it one by one.
"Boom! Boom! Boom!"
The sound of bells and drums rang out again, but this time it was three times in a row.
The ringing of the bells and drums this time brought his spirit and consciousness into a fantastical state.
The originally evolving Runes were no longer visible, and the scene around him changed drastically, as if he were on a flat plain. All around was level ground; no mountains were seen, no grass or trees were seen, only him standing on the flat plain, and the boundless blue sky above his head.
"Boom—!"
Suddenly, a transcendent loud noise erupted above his head. Brilliant light bloomed in the blue sky, as if it had torn through the blue sky and poured down, with an immortal aura permeating the air.
The next moment, the source of that brilliant light, a huge and brilliant pupil, gradually manifested. It slowly opened its eye, the pupil light shining upon the world, like the immortal glow of the sky, shining down, omnipresent, discerning everything.
In another instant, the world-shining pupil light gathered and shot toward the sky, like a blade of aurora, invincible, penetrating everything, annihilating mountains and rivers.
Mengchen was immersed in it, unable to extricate himself, experiencing the various evolutions within, and using his heart to comprehend the Dharma.
The Eye of Heaven Domain, perceiving all things, can bring stillness to mountains and rivers; it is magnificent and terrifying.
"So that is how it is!" Mengchen gradually awakened from his enlightenment.
Inside the Immortal Pool, his slightly closed eyes were covered by a layer of brilliant radiance, and upon this radiance, endless Supreme Bone Runes evolved, containing the mysteries of the transformations of the Law.
Quietly, Mengchen opened his eyes, and within his pupils, blazing runes manifested, becoming profound and filled with supreme mysteries.
"Traces of the Heavenly Dao! Perceiving all things, it can see through the falsehoods of the world; bringing stillness to mountains and rivers, it can extinguish the life force of all living beings."
This is the Supreme Technique he realized this time, Traces of the Heavenly Dao! (End of chapter)
