Chapter 878: About promotion

In the written test content he imagined, it should be an understanding of the bounty hunter position, or theoretical content regarding martial arts.

However, the paper in front of him had questions about the relationships between families and gangs, and even the hobbies of certain gang leaders.

If someone who didn't know saw this test paper, they would think it was an exam for gossip reporters.

Xu Tian didn't have previous memories and originally didn't understand the various forces on Wuji Island. Now seeing the dense test questions on the paper, he only felt his head was twice as big.

Just as he picked up his pen and planned to write something casually, at least to fill the test paper, the mentor came to him and tapped his desk.

"You come with me first; you don't need to write this paper."

Xu Tian was slightly startled, somewhat confused, but still got up and followed the mentor away from the square.

The mentor took Xu Tian and Old Zhang to a small building leading to the main road on the side of the square. After walking into the small building, they saw a man sitting behind a table with a stack of materials in front of him.

The man saw Xu Tian and Old Zhang enter and asked.

"Name."

"Xu Tian." Since he was undercover, he naturally couldn't use the name Ding Yi.

The man recorded a stroke and looked at Old Zhang.

"Yours."

"Zhang Guohui." Old Zhang replied.

"Is he your son?" The man frowned slightly, a flash of suspicion in his eyes.

"No, he is my nephew." Old Zhang hurriedly explained.

"You are surnamed Zhang; why is your nephew surnamed Xu?" The man's tone became severe.

"It's like this: my younger brother divorced his wife, and his wife's surname is Xu. This nephew has always followed his mother's surname." The elder's reaction was quite fast, and he immediately made up a reason that couldn't be verified but was very reasonable.

"Hmm." The man recorded another stroke in the book in front of him, then took a bag of things from the side and placed it in front of Xu Tian.

"Xu Tian, because you were recommended by Queen Yue, you don't need to accept the test with other new students. From now on, you are a member of Xuanwu Tang family's mountain villa. Of course, you are currently only a fourth-grade bounty hunter. These are your student uniform and identity proof."

"Thank you, mentor." Xu Tian picked up the bundle and weighed it.

It wasn't heavy. Besides the clothes and identity documents, there shouldn't be anything else inside.

However, he hadn't expected Yue Moli's recommendation letter to allow him to be exempt from the test. It seemed this trip to Xuanwu Tang family's mountain villa was much smoother than expected.

"In a while, I'll have other mentors take you to the dormitory. Your basic information has been recorded and verified. Your uncle can go now."

"Good."

Xu Tian exchanged a few words with Old Zhang and let him leave first.

Old Zhang wanted to say something several times but stopped, and finally, hindered by the rules here, walked away looking back three times for every step.

After Old Zhang left, the mentor took Xu Tian toward the dormitory area.

This mentor was the man who let him in at the manor entrance before.

On the way, the other party couldn't suppress his curiosity and asked tentatively.

"Xu Tian, what is Queen Yue to you?"

"Ordinary friends." Xu Tian said.

"Being able to become ordinary friends with Queen Yue is already very amazing." Being able to become a mentor at Xuanwu Tang family's mountain villa, this man was also not an ordinary person, so naturally, he wouldn't believe that Xu Tian and Yue Moli were just ordinary friends.

Being able to let Yue Moli write a recommendation letter personally, the relationship definitely wasn't as simple as ordinary friends.

Of course, he wasn't stupid enough to refute Xu Tian and continue to pursue the question, but said with a smile.

"I have quite a lot of news and some channels, which I believe Queen Yue will be interested in." He currently had a low grade at Xuanwu Tang family's mountain villa and only belonged to a low-level mentor; otherwise, he wouldn't have been assigned to bring newcomers. "If I don't earn some extra money with my current income, I can't live."

"If I have time, I will mention it to her." Xu Tian nodded.

After more than ten minutes of walking, the mentor took Xu Tian to a row of townhouses.

"This is the dormitory area for students?" Xu Tian raised his eyebrows in surprise.

Xuanwu Tang family's mountain villa was worthy of being the best bounty hunter academy on Wuji Island. This accommodation environment was comparable to a five-star hotel in Huaxia.

"That's right, Xuanwu Tang family's mountain villa is the signboard of the bounty hunter world." The mentor said proudly. "After you have been here for a long time, you will know that these are nothing."

He led the way as he spoke, but he led Xu Tian to a row of dilapidated small buildings behind the townhouse.

"However, those townhouses are only open to high-grade bounty hunters. Like you, a fourth-grade bounty hunter, you can only live here for now."

Xu Tian:...

He looked at the eight-story small building that was not much different from the old city area in Huaxia. He estimated that there wasn't even an elevator here.

If he were assigned to the top floor, he would be exhausted every time he went out.

However, after the mentor took him in, he didn't mean to go upstairs, but pointed directly to a room on the left hand and said to him.

"Go in, this is your dormitory."

Xu Tian pushed the door open and found ten bunk beds inside. Besides that, there was only a desk and a dilapidated wardrobe in the room.

Xu Tian:...

This is called a dormitory?

If you said it was a slum, he would believe it.

"Fourth-grade bounty hunters all live here?" Xu Tian tried to struggle. "Are there no other choices?"

"No." The mentor spread his hands. "Your environment is not bad. The windows of the rooms upstairs have been broken for half a year, and they haven't been repaired yet."

Xu Tian walked in with the bundle very speechlessly. When he passed a bunk bed, he saw a pink woman's underwear hanging on the railing above.

Xu Tian:...

"Mentor, do women live here too?"

"Of course, they are all adults, so why separate men and women?" The mentor looked as if it were a matter of course. "Of course, your shower areas are separated, to prevent you from not using your minds on completing missions..."

Xu Tian sighed and resignedly placed his luggage on an empty bunk.

"How long does it take for a fourth-grade bounty hunter to be promoted?"

"Xu Tian, don't think about those unrealistic things for now." The mentor seemed to be asked this kind of question every time he recruited students, obviously already accustomed to it. "You have just arrived at the villa. Currently, the most important thing is to familiarize yourself with the environment and then complete missions that match your current grade."

"Of course, you were recommended by Queen Yue, so you must have strength. I guarantee you, as long as you are down-to-earth, you can be promoted quickly. When the time comes, you can move to that row of big villas in front. After moving to the villa, you can enter and leave the gym, practice room at will, and have a 24-hour butler, nanny, chef..."

"I still want to know about promotion." Xu Tian asked persistently.

"Regarding promotion, it's actually simple. As long as you accept bounty missions and complete them successfully, the more missions you complete, the more points you can accumulate. When the points are enough, you can be promoted." ===== CHAPTER 879 =====
