Chapter 297

~35 min read 6,984 words

This, is the true Emperor of Fengdu.

Without the filter of mythology or the far-fetched interpretations of various legends, the Emperor was revealed to the youth, clear and straightforward.

Any description used to convey towering stature became pale and powerless in this moment; the oppression and shock it brought had long since exceeded the scope of striking the soul, feeling more like a ruthless crushing from a higher level of existence.

Most importantly, He was not deliberately targeting you.

It is just like an ant exhausting all its strength to climb a mound, only to catch a more complete glimpse of an elephant; yet, in the elephant's eyes, you do not exist at all.

Inside the hall, the clinking sound of chains rubbing together could be heard, but it stopped while still some distance from the hall entrance, and then the sound faded away.

This was Yin Meng, who had intended to come to the hall entrance to see them off, retreating back.

Lingering farewells did not fit the team atmosphere under Brother Xiaoyuan's leadership; meaningless exhortations and concerns were kept to a minimum, and everyone was restraining themselves from excessive performance or sentimentality.

Yin Meng sat down before the desk and surveyed the environment inside the hall; she deliberately kept herself from letting too many emotions spread, needing to conserve them, because she would have to rely on them to survive here.

Outside the hall, the black shadow controlled Li Zhuiyuan's hand, once again gripping the youth's throat.

"Will you still come to pick her up?"

Combined with the manifestation of the Emperor's true form, this question from the black shadow carried a hint of threat and playfulness.

Li Zhuiyuan replied:

"I will come back to fish her out."

Li Zhuiyuan slightly emphasized his tone on the word "fish."

"So confident?"

"The first thing I learned was how to fish people out."

"I noticed that after the formal apprenticeship ended, you stopped calling me 'Master'."

"Teacher."

The black shadow did not respond.

"Teacher, can the student change the way he dies? It's not easy to experience death once; having my neck snapped just like this is somewhat regrettable."

"How do you want to die?"

"Teacher, I want to fall from here and drop into the boundless hell."

At this moment, in the deepest part of hell, is the Bodhisattva.

"No."

"Then, do it."

"Crack!"

The youth's neck was snapped; perhaps fearing he wouldn't die thoroughly at once, and not wanting him to suffer more pain, the lingering force rippled out, causing the youth's body to shatter along with it.

Li Zhuiyuan,

died.

……

Regardless of whether there was enough buildup or if it was rushed before death, when death truly arrives, it is a moment of solitude.

As the sun rises and sets, since he died here, he should live over there.

It is just that, in this transition between death and life, a transfer point appeared here for Li Zhuiyuan.

By his ears was the sound of water rushing in, "gurgle, gurgle," accompanied by chaotic auditory hallucinations.

Beside him, there were countless tentacle-like stickinesses, clinging to every corner of his entire body, constantly wriggling.

If one were to shift the perspective upward, what one would see is:

In a newly excavated fish pond, the youth was floating on the water surface, surrounded by dense schools of fish.

They were excited, they were frantic, as if desperately trying to find something on the youth that they could gnaw on.

Deep in his consciousness, in the basement of Great-Grandfather's house.

The original body held a carving knife, standing before a long wooden table.

Those who were easy to carve were sitting there, neat and quiet.

Those who were difficult to carve were all placed on the table, slowly adjusted, and carefully outlined.

"Crack!"

A shattering sound came; first, a sculpture that had just had the Buddha light texture carved behind it broke, scattering across the table.

Immediately after, the sculpture behind it, which had only had time to have its crown carved, first cracked all over its body, and then completely collapsed and flew apart.

The original body was expressionless, seemingly not surprised by this situation.

However, in the "crowd" of those sitting, the sculpture of Yin Meng emitted a "click, click, click" sound.

The original body walked up to "Yin Meng," looking at her earnestly.

She did not collapse, but the exquisite, lifelike paint layer either changed color or peeled off, as if stripped of all spirituality.

On the long table, the shattered materials of the Emperor and the Bodhisattva were collected by the original body.

The original body did not clean up the discolored Yin Meng sculpture, still letting her sit in the middle of the vivid "partners."

Using a cart, he pushed the materials outside, heading straight to the fish pond.

He lifted the cart and poured the waste materials in; the schools of fish that used to swarm over did not appear even once this time.

The original body clapped his hands and walked to the other side of the fish pond, looking at Li Zhuiyuan, who was still floating on the water surface.

One on the water, one on the shore; a wisp of wind blew past two identical youths.

The original body opened his mouth to urge: "The 'work' has come."

In the water, Li Zhuiyuan opened his eyes.

He gently raised his hand; the surrounding fish schools scattered for a distance, but soon gathered around again.

They gathered because they sensed emotions.

But they didn't eat anything, meaning this portion of emotions they coveted remained inside the youth's body, not overflowing as they had in the past.

The management of the desert of emotions, from stabilizing the sand until now, has finally seen results in the true sense; it can already lock in moisture.

The foundation of humanity has been consolidated, although it is currently only at the minimum level.

Li Zhuiyuan lowered his hand and looked into the air; the sky was cloudless for ten thousand miles, blue to the point of being somewhat unreal.

I remember at the very beginning, the environment deep in this consciousness had very precise details; standing on the terrace of Great-Grandfather's house, one could see the wheat waves in the wind, dancing dandelions, flowing clouds, and curling smoke from cooking.

Now, these have all been cut.

There are only two truly delicate places: one is this fish pond, and the other is Great-Grandfather's house. The road from Great-Grandfather's house to the fish pond has scenery all around that looks like it was built in a film studio; it cannot bear close inspection, and a little seriousness would reveal the flaws.

Li Zhuiyuan: "Why have you become so sloppy to this extent?"

Original body: "Isn't this to save you some energy? I'm afraid that if you die outside, you'll implicate me in being buried with you."

"Was the energy saved really given to me?"

With the support of the fish schools, not to mention being on flat ground, at least it felt like being on a soft bed. Li Zhuiyuan raised his head and looked at the clod of earth still floating in the water on the other side of the fish pond.

Li Zhuiyuan knew that the original body had deliberately moved this out for him to see.

Original body: "Are you feeling sad because you couldn't bring Yin Meng out?"

After Li Zhuiyuan earnestly examined his inner heart, he gave the answer: "Yes, but not much; it's far from the degree that would make me sad."

Original body: "Then why do you continue to lie here? Why don't you hurry up and get busy with the 'work'?"

Li Zhuiyuan: "It's mainly because I feel it's hard to explain—to her, to Great-Grandfather, to Auntie Liu, to her deceased grandfather, to Runsheng; these added together made me experience an emotion called 'loss'."

The original body tilted his head, looked at Li Zhuiyuan, and asked: "Are you... showing off to me?"

Like a child who has received a new toy or a bag of new snacks, crowding in front of his little friends to introduce them to how to play with it or how it tastes.

Li Zhuiyuan thought earnestly again and replied: "Yes, when describing it to you, I felt a little bit more happiness in my heart."

Original body: "Childish."

Li Zhuiyuan: "You don't understand."

Original body: "Then you understand?"

Li Zhuiyuan: "You speak, I'll listen."

Original body: "The Emperor's shadow explained to you twice the reason why Yin Meng had to be left there; both explanations were correct, yet he concealed the true intention."

Li Zhuiyuan: "It seems this time, you don't intend to play dumb."

If it were the original body in a perfunctory state, he would probably say:

Anyway, you have already obtained the Emperor's formal recognition, Yin Meng's value has greatly decreased, and her strength is becoming increasingly difficult to coordinate with the team; leaving in such a decent way that doesn't hurt the team's emotions is a good thing.

Original body: "The Emperor of Fengdu suppresses ten thousand ghosts to obtain merit, suppresses himself to obtain merit, suppresses the Bodhisattva to obtain merit, and suppresses the Fengdu project to obtain merit.

You relied on changing the lock to forcibly secure the apprenticeship gift from Him; this is a threat to Him because the Heavenly Dao is focusing heavily on you.

Therefore, even if it is to open another causal relationship outside of the 'master-disciple relationship' to hedge, He must keep Yin Meng behind.

The greatest possibility is still... when that day comes, when the Heavenly Dao feels that you, this blade, are useless and intends to break it, the Emperor can also rely on this line of Yin Meng to force you to come to Fengdu again; at that time, He will suppress you again to obtain merit.

This master of yours is prepared to clean up the sect at any time; you really are a pair of loving master and disciple."

Li Zhuiyuan: "You don't oppose me promising to go back to pick up Mengmeng later, directly accepting this new causal relationship?"

Original body: "I don't oppose it.

Considering from immediate interests, taking Him as a master is correct; it not only allows your current strength to be significantly improved but also allows you to more calmly use His influence to choose the exam questions for the next wave.

Considering from long-term interests, your master is already prepared to sell you out in exchange for merit, but you can also choose to 'betray the master and destroy the ancestors.'

Control your growth amplitude well, and at the same time grasp the changes in the Heavenly Dao's attitude toward you in the future.

At the appropriate time, when the Heavenly Dao reveals that it wants to break you, this blade, you take the initiative to push for the opening of a wave of 'betraying the master and destroying the ancestors.'

Let the Heavenly Dao itself,

choose between the Emperor of Fengdu and you, Li Zhuiyuan.

As long as you grasp the rhythm well, you can make the Heavenly Dao more inclined to choose the Emperor of Fengdu.

At that time, the Emperor will be the ladder you use to climb up and shield yourself from the Heavenly Dao during your growth."

Li Zhuiyuan: "Unless the Emperor takes the initiative to use Yin Meng to threaten me or target me, otherwise, I will not take the initiative to do the act of betraying the master and destroying the ancestors."

Original body: "Giving the choice of firing the first shot to the Emperor is very good; to a certain extent, the Emperor instead holds better timing options, and it can also reduce the difficulty and risk for you to control the Heavenly Dao's intentions yourself."

Li Zhuiyuan: "Think whatever you want."

Original body: "You indeed possess emotions; now, in my eyes, you are even a bit hypocritical."

Li Zhuiyuan did not respond.

Original body: "You called the Emperor's shadow 'Teacher' instead of 'Master' because you wanted to test him, to see if he had undergone any changes due to the influence of Old Zhai during his life accompanying him, and to ponder if he could become a breakthrough point for you to be enemies with the Emperor in the future.

Additionally, you also tried to soften him, agreeing to your request to let you fall and die.

Your purpose was to want to go down and make contact with the Bodhisattva.

Because you are clear that things have entered a new stage of development, and former opponents can also be constructed into allies."

Li Zhuiyuan: "The Emperor is a dead-end; I am very curious about what the Bodhisattva's true form is."

Original body: "The Bodhisattva has been suppressed by the Emperor; this matter is still a secret for now. There are two things that can be done next.

One is the True Lord Temple on the seabed of Zhoushan; you can try to enter it again to help Sun Baishen unseal it.

Since the true Bodhisattva has already entered hell, then whoever sits on the lotus throne next is the 'true Bodhisattva.'

Another thing is the Guanjiang Shou; this time, the Yin God suffered heavy losses, but the main force framework represented by the two generals of increase and decrease is still there. Most importantly, because this time only the Yin God appeared and there was no Jidong, the human inheritance system of the Guanjiang Shou is still very complete.

You can go and reorganize the Guanjiang Shou, replace the Bodhisattva's position, and obtain a steady stream of merit commissions."

Li Zhuiyuan: "I will not do such a thing."

This time, it was the original body's turn to be silent.

Li Zhuiyuan: "I can go and reorganize the Guanjiang Shou, but in the future, the Yin God cannot be above the Jidong, and I will not take the Jidong as a subordinate to learn from the Bodhisattva's old precedent of sucking their blood of merit.

At most, I will confirm the contract for the two generals of increase and decrease to work as temporary workers for me, in order to perfect my puppetry."

In the past, when the Bodhisattva was there, it was not very convenient for Li Zhuiyuan to do this blatantly; now that the Bodhisattva is not there, things are simple.

The two generals of increase and decrease suffered severe damage to their spirits this time; I'm afraid they need the replenishment of merit even more. There is no need to threaten them; just by releasing this intention, they will hurry down themselves.

At that time, I will mold two puppets, and the two generals of increase and decrease will be able to respond quickly to descend, which can greatly alleviate my current embarrassment of not practicing martial arts.

Original body: "There is a third thing."

Li Zhuiyuan: "Didn't you say two things?"

Original body: "The initiative is in your hands for those two things; for the third thing, the initiative is not in your hands."

"Speak."

"You can support Sun Baishen as an agent, but I suggest removing the first thing. You yourself have perfectly mastered the 'Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva Sutra' and are proficient in the Dao of Feng Shui; you can completely disguise yourself as a Bodhisattva.

In this way, when you and the Emperor need to stand on opposite sides in the future, you can set up a 'Bodhisattva,' and that true Bodhisattva suppressed by the Emperor has a certain probability of taking the initiative to acknowledge your identity as a Bodhisattva in order to escape; this way, it is possible to trigger an inside-outside coordination."

"Then is there a fourth thing? The initiative is also in our hands."

"Ours?"

"That 'Bodhisattva' can be played by you."

"My future possibility only has one item, and that is to suppress the inner demon and become the true Li Zhuiyuan."

"Alright, understood; I should go. The 'work' urges people."

Li Zhuiyuan's body slowly dived down, and soon he was completely submerged in the water surface.

The fish schools surrounded him tightly, causing it to be pitch black around him.

Occasionally gaps appeared; through the rolling fish bellies, Li Zhuiyuan saw Xiao Huang Ying in a black cheongsam walking underwater, dancing gracefully, her singing melodious.

The gaps closed; when they opened again, Xiao Huang Ying had disappeared, replaced by a huge and majestic seated body.

Having walked such a long river, it seems to be from one dead-end to another dead-end.

The fish schools gradually dispersed; the departure of each one took away a portion of the youth's sense of security.

Li Zhuiyuan dived down in front of Him without any cover.

One extremely large, one extremely small.

Between the two, a white point of light appeared; the point of light kept growing while rotating, like a ball of fire, burning everything clean.

Physical perception and mental consciousness began to revive; although he hadn't opened his eyes yet, Li Zhuiyuan knew...

He had come back to life.

……

"Hoo."

Zhao Yi opened his eyes.

The truck was parked in an alley adjacent to Ghost Street, with the word "Demolish" written in large red paint on the surrounding walls, with a full circle drawn on top.

It was very quiet all around, and the fog was gradually dissipating.

"Hoo... hoo... hoo..."

His neck tilted back, and his head hit the backrest heavily.

During the three sticks of incense, due to the curse of the "Book of Life and Death," Zhao Yi had experienced death once, but even experiencing it again, that impact was still intense.

But no matter what, at least he recovered faster than when he "died" the first time.

"Li, you bet right!"

He turned his head excitedly to look at the passenger seat; the youth had his eyes closed and hadn't woken up yet.

Seeing Li stark naked, Zhao Yi realized that he didn't have any clothes on himself either.

He turned around to look at the back of the truck.

Everyone had woken up, but they were all sitting or lying down with numb expressions, their gazes dull; clearly, they hadn't been able to walk out of the haze of death yet.

At this time, they had no self-awareness, just like they were asleep, and were in a state of insulation from surrounding things.

Zhao Yi got out of the car and came to the back of the truck; he wanted to find clothes, but found that the hiking bags of Tan Wenbin and the others were not in the car, and his own luggage was not there either.

Zhao Yi rolled up the plastic canopy in the back of the truck and covered the Liang sisters, shielding their bodies.

Afterward, he, naked, jumped off the truck and dived into the street block at an extremely fast speed.

When he came back, Zhao Yi was already dressed in clothes: leather shoes, jeans, a blue shirt, a gold Rolex on his wrist, and he had also pushed his hair back a few times with wet hands.

They were all brand-name goods, but they were also all fake; however, Young Master Zhao was a clothes hanger by nature, and dressing up casually was absolutely fresh and stylish at the moment.

Additionally, Zhao Yi was also carrying a large bag in his hand.

He first came to the back of the truck and threw the three sets of clothes for Tan Wenbin and the others in front of them; they were all big shorts, undershirts, and big slippers.

Then he took out two sets of women's clothing, and Zhao Yi personally helped Liang Yan and Liang Li change into them.

The people in the truck were all still in a dazed state, like plastic mannequins displayed in a clothing store.

When Zhao Yi was dressing the sisters, he checked them specifically; hmm, very good, the sisters not only had their lifespans restored and became young again, but their injuries had also completely healed, without even a single scar left.

Returning to the driver's seat, he prepared to throw the clothes to the youth, but found that Li had already woken up.

Li Zhuiyuan took the initiative to reach out and take the clothes, putting them on himself.

Zhao Yi suddenly recalled that when he first turned his head to look at Li after waking up, Li had his eyes closed.

Everyone else was opening their eyes in a daze; being able to close his eyes meant...

Zhao Yi: "Did you wake up long ago?"

Li Zhuiyuan: "Hmm."

Zhao Yi: "Did you pretend to be asleep just now because you didn't want to go out and find clothes for everyone?"

Li Zhuiyuan: "I don't practice martial arts, and my skills aren't as good as yours; you are the most suitable to go steal clothes."

Zhao Yi: "When I go back and get money, I will compensate the store. But I can't compensate according to the price on the tag; can you imagine how many tens of thousands of yuan this outfit of mine would cost according to the tag?"

At the end of the small street in the small county town, half of them were hanging signs for clearance sales, and every piece of clothing taken out from inside was an astronomical price.

Li Zhuiyuan: "Just remove two zeros and then cut it in half."

Zhao Yi: "You really have experience; by the way, do you think your clothes are too big?"

Li Zhuiyuan: "They are a bit big."

Zhao Yi: "I didn't find a children's clothing store in that area, otherwise I really would have wanted to choose a pair of denim overalls for you; they would definitely suit you very well."

Li Zhuiyuan looked at the bag in Zhao Yi's hand that wasn't completely shriveled.

"Ahem..."

Zhao Yi coughed and stuffed the bag under the driver's seat.

Actually, the denim overalls were inside; there was a big panda in the front, a cute grizzly bear in the back, the straps were elastic, and there were two clips at the front that could be pinched open.

Besides this set of clothes, there was also a pair of air-cushion shoes; the soles were higher than ordinary ones, and wearing them to step on the ground would make them light up with colorful lights as he walked.

If Li hadn't woken up, Zhao Yi would have personally changed the youth into this set of clothes and shoes.

But with Li in a conscious state, let alone dressing him, Zhao Yi didn't even dare to take the clothes and shoes out.

Li Zhuiyuan opened his mouth and said: "Go and pick up the things again."

Zhao Yi nodded: "Okay."

The equipment was all left behind on Ghost Street; the daily necessities inside, including cash, were not important, but things like Li Zhuiyuan's small Luo Pan and Yin Meng's poison jar absolutely could not be lost. If those things flowed out and were opened by ordinary people who didn't know, it would cause a great disaster.

Zhao Yi lit a cigarette, got out of the car, and ran to Ghost Street.

Not long after, Zhao Yi came back, carrying a shoulder pole, with both front and back pressed heavily; the things looked very complete.

Throwing it into the back of the truck, Zhao Yi sat back in the driver's seat and said:

"Zhang Xiuxiu picked up all our relics; I checked them, and nothing was lost."

It was definitely not just helping to pick them up; this was like cleaning up a battlefield, and the talisman paper here was absolute high-end goods in the eyes of the Zhang siblings.

It was just that as soon as Zhao Yi entered Ghost Street, he went straight to the Zhang siblings.

When Zhang Chi saw Zhao Yi appear, he was scared silly, and his guilty conscience was written all over his face.

Zhang Xiuxiu cried and said: "Thank heaven and earth, you are still alive."

Zhao Yi took two pills out of his luggage, broke off the poisonous corner of one of them, gave one to each of the siblings, and then brought everything back.

At this time, the first conscious person appeared in the back of the truck; it was Runsheng.

After sitting up, Runsheng's gaze scanned the surroundings, and after frowning slightly, he began to search a second time.

Li Zhuiyuan: "Brother Runsheng, please look after them."

"Hmm." Runsheng responded, first put on clothes himself, and then went to dress Tan Wenbin and Lin Shu.

Zhao Yi started the truck and drove toward the guesthouse.

On the way, Tan Wenbin woke up, and immediately after, as if he were carsick, he quickly crawled to the end of the back of the truck and began to vomit.

After vomiting for a long time, he turned over, rested his arms on the baffle, his chest heaving constantly, panting heavily.

Runsheng handed over a bottle of water; after Tan Wenbin took it and drank a mouthful, he poured the rest over his head.

Zhao Yi, who was driving, suddenly stepped on the brake, and the people in the car moved along with it.

The Liang sisters, who were originally snuggled together sitting there, fell to both sides, with no signs of waking up.

Lin Shu rolled in the truck, rolling all the way to Tan Wenbin's side; Tan Wenbin subconsciously reached out to support him, but found that Ah You's body was so hot, and heat was still steaming from his head.

"The temperature on Ah You's body..."

Runsheng picked up Lin Shu and let him "sit properly," saying: "The temperature is so low."

Hearing this, Tan Wenbin looked carefully again and found that Lin Shu's originally reddish skin was now a greenish-black, and the air on his head was still steaming, but it was no longer hot, but rather like the cold air that rushes out after a freezer is opened.

After passing a bumpy section of the road, Lin Shu's gaze recovered clarity under constant vibration; his first reaction was to hug his arms and curl up on the ground:

"So cold..."

After a while, Lin Shu began to tear at the undershirt on his body again:

"Hot, so hot..."

Li Zhuiyuan: "No rush to return to the guesthouse; stop the car at that open space ahead."

"Hmm."

Zhao Yi turned the steering wheel, and the truck drove toward a platform on the side of the road; at the end of the platform was a slope with a relatively large drop.

However, the truck, which should have slowed down in advance, showed no signs of slowing down for a long time.

Li Zhuiyuan looked at Zhao Yi and found that another human face had appeared on Zhao Yi's face.

It was that tomb owner, Su Luo; he looked at the steering wheel in his hand, then at the environment outside the car window, and muttered:

"How should this carriage be stopped?"

Li Zhuiyuan crossed over to the driver's seat and stepped on the brake.

With a sudden brake, the car stopped at the edge of the platform.

Zhao Yi lowered his head, looked at the pedal below, seemingly remembering the brake, and then looked at other buttons in the car, shaking his head and sighing:

"I am not accustomed to these novel things."

Li Zhuiyuan: "You can learn."

"Not what I learned, and even less what I wish to learn."

Li Zhuiyuan: "Then what do you like?"

"Zither, chess, calligraphy, and painting are what I aspire to."

Li Zhuiyuan: "Then do you like peach blossoms?"

"Is it the beautiful realm like the Peach Blossom Spring?"

Li Zhuiyuan: "There is wine, flowers, and even masters of zither, chess, calligraphy, and painting; one can indulge in pleasure all day long."

"However, this body is ultimately his; I cannot be his master because of my own preferences, although I also don't know why I suddenly woke up and drove this carriage without a horse pulling it."

Li Zhuiyuan: "I have a way; it can be the best of both worlds."

"That would be wonderful; I thank the Dragon..."

Su Luo had seen Zhao Yi's memories and knew that the Zhao family's greatest expectation for Zhao Yi was that he could become a Long Wang in the future.

He didn't know that there was only one Long Wang in each generation, so he used this "title" as "congratulations on getting rich."

Zhao Yi faced Li Zhuiyuan, bowed halfway, and stopped.

Li Zhuiyuan knew that the true Zhao Yi had returned.

Zhao Yi: "My god, almost broke the state!"

I was still competing on the river, and you directly admitted defeat for me; what is going on?

Immediately, Zhao Yi frowned: "I didn't expect that I was also so serious?"

Zhao Yi had checked the people in the back of the truck earlier and naturally discovered the problem.

But he didn't anticipate that the problem on his own body could be so big.

This car was driving and driving, and then changed a person without warning; who could stand this?

Li Zhuiyuan: "We'll talk about your problem when we go back. Notify the others to get off the car; let's have a meeting."

Everyone was called off the car by Zhao Yi, including the Liang sisters who hadn't yet broken away from their dazed state.

Li Zhuiyuan first walked up to Tan Wenbin; Tan Wenbin just revealed a smile, wanting to shout "Brother Xiaoyuan," when he squatted down again, his body tilted, wanting to vomit.

The four spirit beasts had been greatly enhanced, and problems had appeared in their tacit cooperation; this led to distortion in Tan Wenbin's perception.

Li Zhuiyuan condensed blood stains with his right hand and began to draw a spell on Tan Wenbin's face; after drawing it, the youth snapped his fingers.

"Snap!"

The red mark on his face faded; Tan Wenbin gasped in pain, and after surviving this, he found that the world before his eyes finally returned to normal.

It's just that this world looked blurry, and the sound was also a bit "buzzing"; accustomed to the clear and keen perception of this world, after suddenly taking away the amplification, Tan Wenbin was really somewhat unaccustomed.

"Brother Xiaoyuan, did you seal those four?"

"Temporarily sealed; they also need to sleep and recuperate themselves at this moment. We'll find a solution after we go back."

"Hmm, okay."

What Li Zhuiyuan did was not a seal; when drawing the spell, he didn't use ink paste but his own blood; it was actually a deterrent, temporarily letting those four spirit beasts quietly crawl down.

Zhao Yi squatted in front of Lin Shu, who was applying needles to Ah You.

Along with the insertion of the needle, red and black blood flowed out constantly; the alternation of cold and heat on Lin Shu's body was finally relieved, and he breathed a sigh of relief.

Li Zhuiyuan walked up to Runsheng.

Before the youth could do anything, Runsheng raised his fist himself, and punched his own chest; a blocked qi gate was smashed open, and some of the irritable ghost qi in his body leaked out.

The ghost qi in his body was too powerful, suppressing the evil spirit and resentment, so Runsheng released the qi for himself.

Li Zhuiyuan took out a sealing talisman, handed it to Runsheng, and then turned his head to say to Zhao Yi: "Help Runsheng nail it."

"Coming."

Zhao Yi used a special technique to pierce the sealing talisman into Runsheng's acupoints with silver needles, suppressing his ghost qi as much as possible to reduce its ravaging in his body.

Li Zhuiyuan walked past the Liang sisters, looked, didn't do anything, and then walked back.

Regarding this, Zhao Yi didn't say anything.

After simply dealing with the problems on everyone's bodies, Li Zhuiyuan began to recount what happened after everyone died.

Everyone then knew that Yin Meng had been left in the Underworld.

Tan Wenbin: "Just as Brother Xiaoyuan said, in the future, we will go together to pick Mengmeng back."

Lin Shu: "Even if it's snatching, we must snatch her back!"

Runsheng: "Hmm."

Runsheng's reaction was the most indifferent.

Li Zhuiyuan signaled everyone to rest on the spot, drink water, and eat something, and then was pulled to the side corner by Zhao Yi.

"Li, did you make any deletions in this process?"

"No."

"But I still feel you are hiding something from me; if it's not the process... then it's your own analysis that you didn't speak out?"

"Do you want to hear it?"

"Of course; if I don't listen, you will say to me again in the future: 'It's because you didn't ask?'"

"Better not listen."

"Why?"

"The matter of the dog's laziness has just passed; do you want to experience it again in the future?"

"How long in the future?"

"Quite a long time."

"I indeed still have psychological shadows about the dog's laziness now; let's do this, I won't ask now, leave it for the future me to ask."

"Let's go, return to the guesthouse, finish the tail end of some official business, and we can go home... home."

The people are not complete, there are omissions; the word "home" doesn't even have as much flavor as before.

Returning to the guesthouse, one could see Xue Liangliang chatting with several people at the tea table on the first floor from far away.

Xue Liangliang stood up and waved to Li Zhuiyuan and the others.

The others returned to their rooms to settle down; Li Zhuiyuan took Lin Shu and Tan Wenbin to sit down.

Xue Liangliang made an introduction; the three middle-aged men were named Xu Deng, Zhou Kuisheng, and Chen Xu, all of whom were backbones in the industry, but their offices were usually in different parts of the country, and they only gathered together because of the opportunity of this meeting.

"By the way, Xiaoyuan, Brother Chen is half a fellow townsman of yours; he is from Suzhou."

"Mengmeng is not locked at the bottom, but at the very top."

Zhou Kuisheng: "Heh, since you are fellow townsmen, Old Chen, you and Xiaoyuan should greet each other in your dialect; no need to accommodate us by speaking Mandarin specifically."

Chen Xu pointed at Zhou Kuisheng and said: "Sowing discord, huh."

Zhou Kuisheng shook his head: "You don't have that atmosphere there; true fellow townsmen have to look at our Northeast; once you leave the pass, no matter which province, you are all fellow townsmen."

Xue Liangliang asked Li Zhuiyuan: "Xiaoyuan, how do you plan to go back?"

Li Zhuiyuan: "Take a plane."

It was mainly because everyone had problems with their bodies and needed to go back in time for adjustment and treatment, and the risks on the road when coming had been solved, so naturally, taking a plane back was the fastest.

As for the truck, Zhao Yi said he could contact Zhang Xinhai and let someone from his factory drive the truck back and return it to Yongzi.

Xue Liangliang said to Chen Xu: "Then you and Xiaoyuan go to Shancheng together to take a plane back; after arriving in Nantong, transfer to a car back to Suzhou; you can chat on the road and be companions."

Chen Xu: "Okay, of course."

Lin Shu: "Why not fly directly to Suzhou?"

Chen Xu replied: "We don't have an airport in Suzhou yet."

Lin Shu: "Ah? Isn't Suzhou's economy very good? How come there is no airport?"

Chen Xu touched his nose somewhat awkwardly.

Tan Wenbin opened his mouth and said: "There will definitely be one soon; very fast."

The three of them still had their own things to deal with, so the tea party ended temporarily.

Xue Liangliang went to see Luo Gong with Li Zhuiyuan.

"Xiaoyuan, did things go smoothly?"

"Hmm, smooth."

"That's good."

Luo Gong was also having a tea party there, but it was in the room; as soon as the door was opened, the smoke inside permeated out; after Xue Liangliang entered, he immediately opened the window to disperse the smoke.

"Come, no need to introduce Liangliang; I must emphasize Xiaoyuan; he is my little apprentice and also my last disciple."

"Don't introduce, don't introduce; I've heard you mention it several times since last year; the provincial top scorer, right?"

"And a child prodigy; every time we meet for a meal, the first half is chatting about work, and the second half starts showing off."

One could clearly feel that after the meeting was over, everyone relaxed.

After Li Zhuiyuan sat here and coped for a while, Luo Gong let Xue Liangliang take him away.

After returning to his room, Li Zhuiyuan didn't see Zhao Yi.

After taking a shower, Li Zhuiyuan sat on the bed, playing with the small Luo Pan in his hand.

The date of the return trip was tentatively set for the day after tomorrow; there was still a survey task to be completed tomorrow, which was the location where the survey team had an accident last time.

The youth gently fiddled with the pointer of the Luo Pan in his hand; he was thinking about one thing:

The Bodhisattva was suppressed into the Underworld by the Emperor of Fengdu; where did that severely injured Di Ting run to?

Unfortunately, the other party was either severely injured and dying, or scared into restraining his aura; in short, there was no reaction to him on the Luo Pan.

Tan Wenbin pushed the door and entered, saying: "Brother Xiaoyuan, Runsheng went out to find a workshop to repair his own Yellow River shovel."

"Brother Runsheng won't be impulsive."

"But he is too much like a normal person; I have already exhorted Ah You not to go and comfort Runsheng."

"Hmm."

"Where is our extra-team captain?"

"In the Liang sisters' room, I suppose."

"Oh, also, those two haven't woken up yet."

Li Zhuiyuan was noncommittal.

After dark, Zhao Yi still hadn't returned, so Li Zhuiyuan went to sleep first.

In the Liang sisters' room, Liang Yan and Liang Li were lying on one bed each; Zhao Yi stood in the middle, the cigarette in his mouth flickering.

After this cigarette was finished, Zhao Yi extinguished the cigarette butt with his fingers and flicked it into the teacup.

Then he rolled up his sleeves and raised his right hand.

"Snap!"

First, he slapped Liang Yan's face.

"Snap!"

Then he slapped Liang Li's face.

The sisters, who had recovered their youthful beauty, had their cheeks immediately swell up high.

"Still pretending, right? Still unwilling to wake up, right? Kill, kill; I'll go outside and set up a formation, and you two go inside and duel; how about two enter and one comes out!"

The turbidity in the sisters' eyes dissipated, and they recovered clarity.

With their foundation, it was impossible for them to wake up so slowly; they could be said to be the first batch to wake up.

The reason they kept pretending was because as soon as they woke up, they noticed what had happened to them, and a terrible impulse to kill their own sister (younger sister) rose in their hearts.

They were all pretending to be dazed; in reality, they were giving each other opportunities to kill themselves.

Zhao Yi: "I'll propose a method, compromise; before you plunder each other, first snatch me, this man; there's no need to be polite about this; snatching a man with your sister, how exciting and fun it is."

The two sisters sat up from the bed and both began to cry.

Actually, they knew in their hearts that although they were unwilling to kill each other at this moment, and even actively willing to fulfill each other, as long as this mental addiction existed, as time passed and they continued to grow and become stronger, one day it would reach a point where it could not be restrained.

Zhao Yi: "Don't be afraid of that day; at worst, before that day comes, I will keep the one I like the most by my side, and find a place of seal for the other to live there, so that you cannot meet."

Liang Yan: "So cruel."

Liang Li: "So heartless."

Zhao Yi: "Then take turns being sealed? One person serves the bed for a quarter? A quarter is too long, will get tired; how about this, one month... no, one week.

Sigh, I'm still the one who suffered; finally got a pair of twins, and they have to be separated."

Liang Li: "Shameless."

Liang Yan: "My man is really shameless."

Liang Li: "..."

After successfully soothing the sisters' emotions, Zhao Yi returned to the room.

Seeing that Li Zhuiyuan was already asleep, he also took a shower and got into his own bed.

"Li, there is one thing I haven't figured out; isn't hell basically empty now? Then the Bodhisattva didn't become a Buddha?"

Li Zhuiyuan didn't even open his eyes and said: "You can understand the Emperor as the only ghost."

"Pfft... Hahaha!"

After Zhao Yi laughed, he lay down and covered himself with the quilt, preparing to sleep.

While sleeping, Zhao Yi suddenly opened his eyes and sat up with a start:

"Damn, the seal on my Zhao family's entire clan hasn't been lifted yet!"

"Hmm."

"Brother Xiaoyuan, now that the Underworld is empty, isn't it just the time when Underworld civil servants are needed?"

"Hmm, the choice of positions will be very rich."

"Could it be that the Emperor forgot about this?"

"Perhaps."

"Then what should be done about this?"

"There is a way."

"You have a solution?"

"Didn't we agree before to go to Jiujiang Zhao together?"

"Ancestor, what do you mean?"

Li Zhuiyuan opened his eyes, looked at Zhao Yi, and said very calmly:

"I will go and lift it myself."
