Chapter 93: Seven Demon-Subduing Treasures

"Side Mission 1: Kill one samsara traveler of the opposing faction. Reward: 1 merit point."

Qian Chen frowned slightly, his expression somewhat solemn. At this time, Ning Qingchen had already rushed back to the great hall of Lanruo Temple, and Seeing Yan Shu had also killed all the walking corpses that had lost control. The three looked at each other, and Ning Qingchen said with a bit of shame: "I didn't expect that they actually had one person hiding in the body of a walking corpse..."

Qian Chen shook his head slightly: "Leaving Brother Yan behind was to guard against this. Fellow Daoist Ning has already succeeded in killing that gu-manipulating demon!"

"Fellow Daoist Qian, did you hear the prompt from the Lord of Samsara?"

Ning Qingchen didn't dwell on this matter but asked the key point directly.

Qian Chen nodded: "It prompted me that I killed a samsara traveler of the opposing faction... Fellow Daoist Ning must be the same. This is a bit beyond my expectations, because the difficulty of Main Mission 1 is not small, and the difficulty of wanting to obtain the Blood Demon's recognition is even higher than obtaining the recognition of an orthodox plot character. Logically speaking, only one night has passed, and with the strength of these people, they shouldn't have joined the Blood Demon faction before us!"

Ning Qingchen held the large yellow chicken that was drilling toward Qian Chen and explained: "Plot character... you mean Daoist Zhi Qiu and the others. This title is a bit strange... To say that those people completed Main Mission 1, that might not be the case..."

"I once saw a large willow tree rooted on the rift of Black Mountain on Heavenly Tian Shafeng. Its roots were covered with white bones, and its willow branches could swing like limbs, catching and killing people and livestock within ten miles. I and Master Feng accidentally broke into its territory and had a very difficult time killing our way out of the tree demon's ambush. During this period, I obtained the remains of a fellow Daoist from the tree roots, and from the suicide note, I learned the story of the Seven Heroes subduing the demon in the past."

"When I saw the large willow tree, I also received a prompt from the Lord of Samsara..."

"Could it be another one of the four great demon generals under the Blood Demon?" Qian Chen smiled knowingly after hearing half of it.

Ning Qingchen was a bit stunned: "Have both fellow Daoists also encountered other demon generals?"

Qian Chen nodded: "We encountered a wolf demon here, General Lang..." He didn't mention that General Lang had been 'accidentally killed' by him when he was fighting Miaokong. Qian Chen was a low-key person. General Lang's corpse had been sucked into ash by the Five Poisons Three Corpse God Demon. There was no corpse to prove it, so talking about it sounded like boasting, which didn't fit his style.

Ning Qingchen realized: "So it is! The momentum of that sword light and demon fire earlier..."

Ning Qingchen continued: "The tree demon I met is another great demon—General Liu. Since we have all encountered the great demon generals under the Blood Demon, then the others who came from the same origin as us... according to your words, are 'samsara travelers.' It is also possible that they encountered other great demon generals."

"You mean, those two samsara travelers attacked us, which might not be because they were wild dogs who wanted to pick up a bargain after learning we were injured... They just joined the Blood Demon faction, so they don't have that much freedom. There must be an instruction from the demon behind this... The wolf demon just died, and the demon dared to provoke us?"

"So it is! Those walking corpses were the samsara travelers' test, and those two samsara travelers were also the demon's test!"

Seeing Yan Shu laughed: "Then it must have tested out a few things. Now that it has figured out the reality, it's not far from taking action. I'll just wait here for it!"

Although strong enemies were surrounding them, Ning Qingchen didn't hear any cowardice in his words, not even any intention to retreat, only the heroism of not stopping until the demon was beheaded.

Qian Chen, although his complexion was not good, was only pale because of the chill penetrating his body. Although he only had one percent of his power left, hearing that there might be a demon more cunning and vicious than General Lang, who had condensed a demon core, peeping in the dark, Qian Chen was still talking and laughing freely, and he couldn't see any tension at all. For a while, it made Ning Qingchen look at the two with admiration.

Whether they were hard-mouthed or not, he didn't know... but their guts were truly big.

Although this was the case, Ning Qingchen still advised: "Fellow Daoist Qian and Fellow Daoist Zhi Qiu are not yet healed from their heavy injuries, and Fellow Daoist Yan also has an unsmooth breath. How can you deal with that demon? Why don't we retreat for now and come back to deal with this demon when our injuries are slightly better?"

Qian Chen smiled: "Fellow Daoist Ning, do you believe that if we show even a hint of retreat, that demon will attack immediately, and we won't even have the time to prepare? If we are fully prepared, we can force it to fight."

Ning Qingchen frowned slightly, thinking it was true. Now that the demon hadn't attacked yet, it was just because Qian Chen had just killed someone, making the great demon not figure out three points of reality. If they showed a little cowardice, it would only make the demon see through their current weakness.

"And, that demon's arrival is also a bit strange." Qian Chen's gaze penetrated the void...

"This Lanruo Temple, I'm afraid it's a bit strange!"

Ning Qingchen was a bit puzzled: "There is such a large temple here under Heavenly Tian Shafeng, of course it will be a bit strange. When I saw that tree demon, it was rooted on a magic cave deep into Heavenly Tian Shafeng. I don't know how many corpses were underneath it. Obviously, it also hides clues."

Zhi Qiu also nodded in agreement: "I tracked the wolf demon to this place. Obviously, it's not far from the wolf demon's lair. If that wolf demon is one of the four generals under the Blood Demon, it setting its lair here must also be guarding something."

"And this place was still a ruin a few days ago..." Zhi Qiu whispered.

Qian Chen looked at them with a serious look and couldn't say that this Lanruo Temple was repaired by him, and it was a ruin here before! But he thought about it carefully and felt it was even stranger... The Lanruo Temple ruins were obviously abandoned earlier than the village nearby that was attacked by the wolf demon, so Qian Chen didn't suspect anything at first.

But looking at it from another angle, with the architectural attainments of the Buddhist sect, even if it had been abandoned for hundreds of years, this Lanruo Temple shouldn't have been abandoned to such an extent.

When Qian Chen came, there wasn't a single complete house, and even the pagoda forest in the backyard had been razed to the ground.

Looking at it this way, it felt like a cover-up.

And the wolf demon's attack came too fast. When General Lang acted, he didn't hesitate to sacrifice many descendants and even used the Blood River Great Law. Wolf nature is cunning. When encountering a strong enemy that is temporarily difficult to deal with, they often retreat temporarily. Why didn't General Lang wait for the support of the other three demon generals? Unless they touched some taboo of that demon.

Qian Chen looked up and said in unison with Zhi Qiu: "The Demon-Subduing Sword Box!"

Zhi Qiu said excitedly: "It must be the Demon-Subduing Sword Box... After the Seven Heroes suppressed the Blood Demon in the past, True Person Biling and Loose Person Dafang were too heavily injured. After this battle, they sat and shed their mortal bodies! Their personal demon-refining treasures, the Demon-Binding Silver Ring and the Demon-Transforming Jade Bottle, must not have fled far and should be hidden near Heavenly Tian Shafeng."

"And the Demon-Breaking Golden Needle of Monk Master Bu Dai; the Demon-Subduing Sword Box of True Person Chilong of my sect; the Demon-Fixing Treasure Mirror of Old Man Qingshi; the Demon-Refining True Fire of Old Man Red Hair; and the Profound Heaven Demon-Slaying Sword of True Person Yinfeng, the head of the Seven Heroes, also disappeared after the several sword heroes subdued the demon and shed their mortal bodies and ascended. If the Seven Heroes seniors calculated that there would be a day when the Blood Demon would escape, then they must have left behind a method to subdue the demon."

Ning Qingchen looked around at the great hall that Qian Chen had newly repaired, trying to find possible clues.

But this great hall was completely repaired by Qian Chen. There were many things hidden, but they were all stuffed in by Qian Chen himself.

So when Ning Qingchen happily touched a talisman from the scripture brick behind the Buddha statue, Qian Chen had to explain: "This was hidden in it by me just in case." Ning Qingchen suddenly remembered the Spirit Light Treasure Mirror that Qian Chen asked her to touch on the roof beam, and she felt a bit discouraged.

"Could it be that those seniors didn't leave any words when they shed their mortal bodies and ascended?" Ning Qingchen asked unwillingly.

Zhi Qiu shook his head: "The Blood Demon disaster has passed for two thousand years. Now the past has become a legend, and it is difficult to distinguish between true and false. Even if the seniors had any instructions, only the Sect Master and Master should know."

"And the Blood Demon itself must be very clear..." Seeing Yan Shu said: "So where the Seven Demon-Subduing Treasures are hidden, the Blood Demon must be the clearest... In this way, it sent its subordinates to guard these magic treasures that restrain it, which is even more possible. The reason why we attracted the wolf demon attack is because we approached the Demon-Subduing magic treasures guarded by the Blood Demon!"

Seeing Yan Shu remembered Qian Chen's endless ambushes when he was fighting Miaokong to the death, and laughed and pointed at Qian Chen: "If you want to say where it is suitable to hide things here, it should be Junior Brother Qian who knows best!"

Qian Chen nodded slightly and thought for a while, finding that he had really considered the places where things could be hidden here. Whether it was the great hall, the surrounding monk quarters, or other corners, even the pond of lotus flowers in the merit pond, and even the bright moon in the sky, hadn't he hidden flying swords and primordial pills in them?

"If there is any place suitable for hiding magic tools here, it is the Jialan Pagoda Forest in the backyard!" Qian Chen whispered: "Other places were basically repaired by me. Only the backyard pagoda forest, because I was worried about offending the relics of the predecessors, so I didn't disturb it."

"Buddhist pagodas often have underground palaces..." Zhi Qiu suggested: "Now for the sake of subduing the demon, disturbing it a little is not presumptuous."

The few didn't talk much and got up to go to the pagoda forest in the backyard. Here, broken statues and stone tablets were scattered in the weeds. The Buddhist pagodas had long since collapsed, and broken bricks and tiles were scattered on the ground, shallowly burying the foundation. It could be seen that when this Lanruo was still intact, the pagoda forest had about eight Buddhist pagodas, occupying a large courtyard high and low. ===== CHAPTER 94 =====

The few of them did not speak further, then rose to head toward the pagoda forest in the backyard. Here, broken divine statues and stone steles were scattered among piles of weeds. The pagodas had long since collapsed, and broken bricks and tiles were strewn across the ground, shallowly burying the foundations. It could be seen that when this Lanruo was still intact, the pagoda forest had about eight pagodas, occupying a large courtyard at varying heights.
