Chapter 143: You
Thanos’s Black Order, the Five Black Yao , all bear names derived from constellations or celestial bodies—such as the Black Dwarf currently fighting Thor, and the absent Supergiant and Nightcrawler, among others.
But the General of the Dead Blade is an exception; his name includes not only Corvus (the Crow constellation) but also Glaive, meaning a polearm with a blade at its tip—essentially a long knife or spear.
Lin Lie keenly noticed this, and thus made this speculation.
The General of the Dead Blade’s earlier actions indeed proved it—he would rather have his arm severed than let his double-bladed glaive suffer damage, showing how vital this weapon is to him.
“Arrogant, ignorant Earthling!”
The General of the Dead Blade reattached his severed arm, gripped his glaive with both hands, and sneered: “If you truly believe that, go ahead and try it yourself!”
“No need for your reminder,” Lin Lie said coldly, gripping his sword hilt. “I was already planning to do exactly that…”
Before the words had fully left his lips, he bent his knees slightly, left hand lightly pressed against his waist, right hand holding Fuxi Sword, slanting the blade into his left hip in the posture of sheathing it.
In the next instant, a sharp sword intent surged from his body.
A vast sword qi erupted, enveloping his skin, turning his originally pitch-black eyes into piercing, brilliant silver blades—as if solidified into tangible light.
Not done yet, after channeling his Wuwo Sword Qi, Lin Lie activated all his buff skills and unsealed the ability that enhances weapon mastery: Swift Shadow Hands.
“Swift Shadow Hands!”
“Unyielding Will!”
“Ancient Memory!”
“Ultimate Weapon Mastery!”
In an instant, streams of light erupted across Lin Lie’s body, transforming his entire aura.
Moreover, the Fuxi Sword in his hand was now shrouded in a faint blue aura, slowly swirling like a nebula along its blade.
Seeing Lin Lie’s eyes—now devoid of sharpness, cold and distant, as if gazing from ancient times—the General of the Dead Blade’s scalp prickled. He knew he could not let this Earthling gather more power.
He roared, shattered the ground beneath his feet, and charged toward Lin Lie with his double-bladed glaive.
At the same moment, Lin Lie lifted his heel—and stomped hard against the ground!
“Boom!”
The solid concrete floor exploded outward; Lin Lie’s sheathing motion launched him forward in a nearly straight trajectory through the air.
His terrifying speed broke the sound barrier, detonating a white cloud behind him that layered into a sonic boom.
Immense pressure compressed the air before him into a smooth, curved membrane; the ground instantly collapsed, cleaved into a long trench by the wind pressure.
Before the General of the Dead Blade’s roar could even spread, the faintly red air membrane slammed into him.
A crushing force struck from ahead; the General felt a gale tear across his face, and his arms gripping the glaive exploded into a mist of blood, flesh, and bone shards.
In that same instant, the double-bladed glaive flew uncontrollably upward.
Lin Lie raised his eyes; the Fuxi Sword, sheathed in blue light, rose with him—and slashed upward in an instant.
“Roar—”
A faint, distant dragon’s roar echoed; a dragon head, five to six meters tall, burst forth from Lin Lie’s body.
Its scales and horns, formed purely of sword qi, gleamed silver in the sunlight, surging skyward along the sword’s path.
“Break the Army—Rising Dragon Strike!”
In an instant, the double-bladed glaive above was severed at its center by the dragon head’s impact.
The central hilt was shredded by sword qi; both blades were riddled with sword marks and flung high into the air by the strike’s force, like kites with cut strings, tumbling toward the city ahead.
Only then did the sonic boom finally reach the surrounding area.
The four fighters in combat turned their heads, stunned, staring at Lin Lie and the General of the Dead Blade.
“No!”
Watching his double-bladed glaive shattered by sword qi, the General of the Dead Blade’s eyes bulged with rage. He stretched out his hands, took a few stumbling steps, then collapsed to the ground, lifeless.
“Finally taken care of!”
Lin Lie removed his buffs, gasping for breath, yet beaming at the fallen enemy.
Since learning [Break the Army—Rising Dragon Strike], this was his first time unleashing it fully—he never expected it could truly summon a dragon’s shadow. Indeed, the name was no lie!
“Clap clap~”
“Excellent sword!”
Sudden applause and praise came from above.
Lin Lie froze, looked up—and saw a golden gate hovering in the sky above him.
Two figures stood behind the golden gate, clapping vigorously and marveling at them.
Without doubt, these two were Lin Yu and the White-Bearded Ancient One from the neighboring universe.
Gazing down at the astonished yet delighted Chinese youth, the Ancient One’s eyes gleamed. She whispered softly: “This boy’s sword art is astonishing—far surpassing the Fuxi Sword Master from my world. Especially that technique that summoned the dragon’s shadow—I’ve never seen its like!”
“Really? That’s truly unusual!”
Lin Yu would never reveal the Sword Soul’s secrets to the Ancient One.
He gave a casual reply, then waved his hand: “Enough. We’ll stop here.”
Before she could speak further, he stepped through the golden gate, waved his hand, and forcibly shut the dimensional portal.
“Big Brother Lin! Brother Lin!”
Lin Lie and He Jingfeng’s joyful voices rose from below.
Lin Yu turned, smiling warmly at them.
“Long time no see~”
Lin Lie exclaimed: “Big Brother Lin, when did you get back?”
Lin Yu smiled: “Just now, when you were about to unleash your ultimate technique…”
He landed on the ground, glanced at the lifeless General of the Dead Blade, and chuckled: “You guessed right—his weakness is his weapon. If I didn’t misread it, his soul resides within the glaive. So long as the weapon remains intact, even if you destroy his body, he can resurrect.”
“He can resurrect?”
Lin Lie was startled, then felt a surge of relief.
Thank goodness he spotted the weakness—if he’d kept fighting, he might’ve been worn down by that ability.
“Glad you’re back!”
“Let me see what the current situation is…”
Lin Yu’s gaze swept across the city; his spiritual force instantly covered the entire metropolis, absorbing every detail of the New York battlefield.
The next second, his expression flickered slightly, as if puzzled, as he glanced down at the city below.
But immediately, his face returned to normal. He raised his head, gazing at the sky where the portal had expanded to forty meters wide.
“Perfect timing~”
Lin Yu smiled.
Before his words faded, the bio-mechanical whale-like behemoth, Leviathan, burst from the portal, letting out a deep, resonant roar as it dove straight toward the city below.
Lin Yu observed the biological weapon above with keen interest.
Its massive body nearly filled the entire portal; its surface bore thick bony plates and scale-like alien armor, clearly granting formidable defense.
Beneath the beast’s body, especially at its mechanical fins, were installed Chitauri-developed anti-gravity flight systems, allowing it to hover and glide freely in the air.
Behind its lower jaw were mounted large Chitauri cannons, offering potent firepower and siege capability.
Additionally, Leviathan served as a troop transport; its side armor scales could open and close at will, revealing vast metallic chambers inside for Chitauri soldiers to launch from.
In the Chitauri army, Leviathan primarily handled dive-bombing assaults and planetary landings.
Many native civilizations on life-bearing planets, faced with such colossal biological weapons, were already crushed by despair before battle even began.
That’s why the Chitauri preserved part of Leviathan’s intelligence rather than fully converting it into machinery.
“Truly a fine weapon!”
Lin Yu’s interest surged; he waved his hand, unleashing a terrifying suction force that instantly swallowed the Leviathan—and the Chitauri soldiers stirring within its flanks—into his sleeve.
In an instant, the giant beast that had emerged from the portal vanished without a trace.
The Avengers and group members below froze, stunned.
The former stared blankly, utterly confused; the latter’s eyes lit up, faces breaking into smiles.
“Big Brother Lin’s back!”
“Then what’s there to fear? Launch the counterattack now!”
As the group members’ morale soared, more Leviathans poured from the portal.
Dozens of hundred-meter-long Leviathans circled in the sky, casting immense shadows over the city below.
Seeing this, Lin Yu did not act again. Instead, he stomped the ground, activating the Wind Queen’s Marvelous Array, encompassing all of New York.
Simultaneously, group members scattered across New York felt a sudden surge of power flooding their bodies, endlessly replenishing their depleted energy.
Lin Lie felt it too.
His eyes widened in delight; he looked up at Lin Yu.
“Big Brother Lin, is this your doing?”
“Correct!”
Lin Yu goaded: “You’ve been enhanced—what are you waiting for? Go!”
Lin Lie & He Jingfeng: “….”
Trusting Lin Yu, they exchanged glances, abandoned Loki and the Black Dwarf, and leapt toward the Leviathans in the sky.
Meanwhile, Thor and Loki stared in shock, still stunned by the sudden disappearance of the Leviathans.
Seizing Thor’s momentary distraction, the Black Dwarf struck with a brutal, heavy hammer, slamming it into Thor’s chest.
“Boom!”
The thunderous impact sent Thor flying backward, crashing into a wall dozens of meters away.
Crumbling stones rattled down as Thor landed on the ground, clutching his chest and glaring at the black dwarf: “You—”
“Boom!”
Before he could finish, the black dwarf shattered the ground beneath him, wielding a massive metal hammer as he surged forward like a shadow.
Thor quickly fell silent, reaching sideways with his right hand to grab his fallen Mjolnir.
“...Huh?”
Where’s my hammer?
Thor’s right hand grasped nothing—he froze, utterly bewildered.
