Chapter 147: The Hive Carrier

~8 min read 1,430 words

Near New York Harbor, the aerospace carrier made an emergency landing on the sea.

Numerous S.H.I.E.L.D. technicians were performing emergency repairs on the deck.

One technician inadvertently looked up, then shuddered and couldn’t help crying out:

“What is that?!”

The sudden cry drew the attention of nearby colleagues.

Everyone looked up to see the once-blue sky now stained with a patch of black, like a blot spreading across the heavens.

Nick Fury stood before the control room window, silently gazing at the sky, his eyes glinting with unknown light.

At Stark Tower, the two brothers from Asgard had already settled their victory.

The outcome was no surprise—Thor’s raw power, when serious, far surpassed his foolish little brother.

After a fierce hand-to-hand brawl, Thor pinned Loki to the ground and beat him senseless, then stepped on his buttocks and placed Mjolnir on his back before turning to look at the sky.

Feeling the terrifying energy within the black vortex, Thor was stunned—and secretly relieved.

Thank goodness Heimdall had warned him in time; otherwise, with his classic arrogant, reckless warrior nature, he would’ve been crushed by this cosmic god.

In New York City, the Avengers fighting the Chitauri army also noticed the disturbance overhead, raising their heads in stunned awe at the black vortex.

“What the hell?!”

Tony couldn’t help exclaiming: “Someone punched a hole in the sky?!”

Beside him, Su Haoming glanced at him, a faint smile curling his lips—as if proud of his own leg’s displayed power.

Xiang Yunye, Fan Xian, and He Jing felt the same; only Lin Lie, newly joined and witnessing Lin Yu’s power for the first time, was utterly stunned.

“Is this the true value of the chat group’s sole administrator?”

“I wonder if my Sword Saint awakening skill can reach this level…”

Lin Lie thought to himself.

But he didn’t know that this terrifying Holy Scripture spell was still Lin Yu deliberately holding back.

He cast this Holy Scripture spell merely to seal the portal, preventing more Chitauri troops from pouring into Earth!

As for himself, he had already teleported to the other side of the portal, into the cosmos.

The boundless vacuum of space held no gas, no dust—only faint background radiation and cosmic rays.

Lin Yu floated motionless in space, ignoring the surrounding radiation, ignoring the devouring force behind him, gazing ahead at the dense ranks of Chitauri forces.

Against a backdrop of blue-purple nebulae, a massive black carrier, shaped like a four-clawed crab, hung silently.

Countless black ships and Leviathans surrounded the carrier like dense schools of cosmic fish, drifting slowly through the starry sea.

The Chitauri were a technologically advanced cold-blooded race, resembling a fusion of reptiles and humans; at birth, they were purely organic, but all Chitauri who became soldiers underwent electronic neural network training in childhood, fusing exoskeletal armor into their flesh.

Due to this cyberpunk-style cybernetic modification, Chitauri soldiers could generate a hive-mind through the electronic neural network.

In large-scale battles, all Chitauri soldiers could instantly communicate, share battlefield intelligence, and enhance situational awareness via this hive network.

The terminal of this hive-mind network resided within the Chitauri carrier.

That was why, when the carrier was destroyed, all Chitauri soldiers died instantly.

Similarly, Chitauri soldiers swallowed by the black vortex would be detected by the carrier.

The sudden loss of so many soldiers drew the carrier’s attention; the hive network spun at high speed, transmitting clear orders.

Instantly, all black ships turned their cannons toward the portal and unleashed torrents of thick energy beams.

Chitauri soldiers drifting in space swarmed like fish, some riding single-pilot anti-gravity vehicles, others boarding twin-body aerospace landing craft, surging toward Lin Yu’s position.

“Shhh—shhh—shhh—”

Beams of various colors rained down, converging into a dazzling torrent of energy.

Such terrifying firepower, if fully deployed on Earth, could obliterate all of North America in a single salvo.

Indeed, this universe’s interstellar fleet was more realistic—no wonder Lin Lie had been so worried…

But this interstellar fleet now faced not a system-stream protagonist of this world, but a combat ceiling more monstrous than any protagonist!

Gazing at the incoming torrent of energy, Lin Yu slowly raised his right hand.

Instantly, the Holy Scripture blazed with gold-red light.

Terrifying energy surged from his body, forming slender gold-red flame streams that spiraled up his arms, wildly converging toward his palm.

In an instant, the gold-red flames condensed into brilliant gold, then transformed into platinum-white.

Finally, a flame nearly white-hot, dazzling beyond mortal gaze, hovered in Lin Yu’s palm.

The flame was tiny—no larger than a baby’s fist—shaped like a three-legged bird.

As its wings flapped, terrifying energy burned the vacuum, warping surrounding radiation and cosmic rays.

This was Lin Yu’s Holy Scripture spell—Golden Crow’s Descent from Heaven!

“Go!”

Gazing at the overwhelming torrent before him, Lin Yu softly commanded.

The white-hot flame in his palm floated gently forward, warping space as if teleporting.

The next instant, the white-hot golden crow collided with a blue energy particle beam.

The white flame erupted violently, spreading in a fan shape across a hundred-mile stretch of vacuum, forming an intensely brilliant white-light zone.

All matter and energy within the white light—whether energy beams from cannons, Chitauri soldiers, or their hardened alien metal ships—were vaporized and annihilated.

In an instant, the hundred-mile fan-shaped region ahead was scoured clean by white light.

Over a hundred thousand Chitauri soldiers died instantly; over a hundred black ships lost contact.

Countless offline reports flooded the hive network simultaneously; the carrier recognized the crisis and immediately activated its jump drive, ordering surviving ships to intercept.

All black ships and Leviathans surged forward, launching suicidal attacks toward Lin Yu.

Lin Yu remained unmoved, calmly raising his hand and summoning another identical white-hot golden crow.

“Boom!”

Brilliant white light spread silently through the vacuum, forming concentric white ripples—like the legendary power of erasure—annihilating every substance and life it touched.

A powerful skill reserved for a protagonist’s late-game move became, in Lin Yu’s hands, nothing more than a routine basic attack.

He flashed forward ten miles with each step, casually tossing the white-hot golden crow, continuously destroying entire star regions teeming with Chitauri forces.

In the blink of an eye, Lin Yu crossed a thousand kilometers and arrived before the black carrier.

Behind him, brilliant white light now covered a thousand-mile radius of space, like a sun with swirling, radiant surface, radiating extreme heat and brilliance.

“…Trying to run?”

“Where could you possibly run?”

Lin Yu eyed the carrier hungrily, his gaze seemingly piercing its unknown alien metal hull to see the glowing jump engine at its core.

The next second, his consciousness swept across the entire carrier, instantly knocking out every Chitauri soldier.

He teleported instantly into the carrier’s control room, used knowledge gleaned from mind-reading, halted the incomplete jump, and transferred carrier authority to himself.

He had no intention of destroying the Chitauri carrier!

No matter how pathetic the Chitauri army appeared in films and comics, it was still a genuine interstellar fleet, capable of interstellar travel and large-scale planetary landings.

Rocket Raccoon called it trash only because the carrier and hive network had glaring weaknesses, easily exploited by elite strike teams for decapitation raids.

But under Lin Yu’s control, those weaknesses would vanish.

“Hss—”

A soft hiss—the black metal hatch opened.

Lin Yu entered the carrier’s core and saw the flickering hive servers.

Without hesitation, he shut down the hive network, took a complex internal magic crystal from his storage space, and replaced the original hive core with it.

After a moment of silence, the hive servers lit up again.

But this time, what awakened was not the original Chitauri hive consciousness—it was Lin Yu’s cultivated artificial intelligence: Ling Hua!

“Respected Administrator, Ling Hua No. 2, a product of the Wheel Pavilion, serves you wholeheartedly!”

Hearing the familiar voice, Lin Yu smiled: “How do you feel?”

“A foreign body, unfamiliar technology—but overall, quite comfortable, no sense of confinement.”

“Good. Can you take control of the carrier’s hive network?”

“Already taken control of nine core systems: communications, propulsion, energy, hive network, and others are being integrated…”

“How long until full control?”

“Calculating… estimated time: 3 hours, 54 minutes, 21 seconds. Structural and thermal protection systems sustained 3% damage—Chitauri technicians must be awakened for repairs.”

Lin Yu paused: “Awakening them is fine—but can you control these Chitauri?”

Ling Hua replied: “Of course. All Chitauri soldiers are connected to the electronic neural network and implanted with military obedience chips—they cannot refuse any command from the hive network.”

“Is that so?”

Lin Yu smiled: “Then awaken them.”
