Chapter 152: No Need for Morality with Him!
Strange blinked his eyes, puzzled: “Who are you?”
Lin Yu smiled faintly: “Don’t you recognize me anymore?”
“That doesn’t make sense. Just a moment ago, when you saw me, weren’t you thinking, ‘Which idiot brought this guy here?’ How can you have forgotten so quickly?”
Strange’s face stiffened, then he slapped his forehead and chuckled awkwardly:
“My memory’s gone blind—how could I forget your esteemed name?”
“...”
Lin Yu’s smile vanished; he spoke coolly: “Tell me, what are you really planning?”
Strange looked pained, glanced at the superheroes pouring from the portal, joyfully reuniting with their friends, then leaned close to Lin Yu and whispered: “My lord, let’s talk somewhere else!”
“Fine.”
Lin Yu nodded; the Space Stone in his palm glowed blue, transporting Strange to an empty place.
Feeling the power of the Space Stone, Strange sighed inwardly and finally laid it all out: “Yes, I do remember your esteemed name—but only that.”
Lin Yu raised an eyebrow, intrigued: “Explain.”
Strange spoke honestly: “Before handing over the Time Stone, I used the Time Art one last time to arrange my soul and memories, so I retained fragments of the original timeline.”
“Among them: your esteemed name, and your identity as the Lord of Dimensions.”
“As for what you did on Earth and the impact you left—I know nothing of it now.”
So Strange was still affected by the world’s correction force—just less than others.
Lin Yu pondered, then smiled warmly: “You really are you, Strange. Ancient One underestimated you. She thought you never considered me—but I suspect you anticipated this all along.”
“If I’m not mistaken, you chose this timeline not just to achieve the final outcome, but to let this universe break free from the timeline itself?”
Strange frowned seriously: “That’s impossible!”
“...Really?”
“At least, the current me knows nothing of it!”
Strange declared firmly, bluntly: “If you’re angry, blame the past me!”
After all, the past him and the current him are no longer the same person—no matter how much suffering he endures, it has nothing to do with me!
Sensing Strange’s thoughts, Lin Yu fell silent.
Is this kid really trained by female Ancient One?
He felt more like Bai Huzi’s disciple!
...Huh?
Wait a minute—
Now that Bai Huzi and female Ancient One have connected, maybe there’ll be a crossover later!
Strange, of course, had no idea what Lin Yu was thinking.
He stole a glance at Lin Yu’s expression and whispered cautiously: “You hold the Mind Stone—you know I’m truly unaware. Otherwise, why would I go through all this trouble gathering so many heroes to fight Thanos?”
“...”
Lin Yu snapped back to attention, noncommittal: “Not necessarily.”
On the other side, the future Avengers reunited with their friends, overwhelmed with emotion.
Steve sprinted to Bucky and Falcon, embracing each in a tight hug.
Rocket leapt onto Groot’s shoulder, crying as he patted the tree-head, while the other Guardians gathered around him, teasing him good-naturedly.
Ant-Man Scott hugged the returning Wasp, openly showering her with affection.
Thor rushed toward the Asgardian alliance, reuniting with comrades who had died five years ago in the Snap.
The battlefield, once filled with fire and ruins, now buzzed with joy and excitement.
Only one spot felt different: two Lin Lie, staring at each other in awkward silence.
Gazing at the face far more mature than his own, Lin Lie felt a strange, unsettling sensation.
After a moment of silence, both spoke: “You...”
Before they could finish, a system alert cut through their thoughts.
“Player detected nearby. Team system unlocked. Invite player to team?”
“Yes/No”
Both Lin Lies: “...”
The group member Lin Lie frowned: “You have it too?”
The future Lin Lie nodded, equally bewildered, confirming he had the system.
The group member Lin Lie blurted: “So this thing’s mass-produced?”
The future Lin Lie nodded: “Looks like it. But I wonder if there are more of us in the Marvel multiverse...”
The group member Lin Lie asked again: “Have you asked—were you also a transmigrator?”
The future Lin Lie nodded: “Yes.”
The group member Lin Lie pressed: “What about the chat group?”
The future Lin Lie frowned, as if not hearing: “What?”
The group member Lin Lie repeated: “The chat group!”
The future Lin Lie shook his head, still confused.
The group member Lin Lie understood—he realized the chat group must be his most unique trait.
As for the system, since there’s more than one, its rank is far lower than the chat group—it hasn’t transcended time and still operates within Marvel multiverse rules.
Later, they exchanged private knowledge and found their details matched perfectly.
But compared to the future Lin Lie, the group member Lin Lie was clearly much weaker.
After all, the future him had awakened as Sword Saint, mastering powerful skills like [Phantom Sword Dance] and [Mighty Dragon Severing Slash], even the Sword Saint’s signature awakening technique—[Extreme Ghost Sword Art: Storm Style]!
Speaking of awakening techniques, the future Lin Lie immediately began complaining.
Unlike in games, he couldn’t summon twenty-four divine swords out of thin air—he had to prepare them in advance to form the Storm Sword Array.
Worse, the awakening technique demanded extremely high-quality swords—minimum purple-tier by system standards.
After awakening, he spent two full years searching, and by the time Thanos invaded Earth, he’d only gathered thirteen swords qualified for the array.
Without enough swords, he couldn’t form the Storm Sword Array.
That’s why he couldn’t unleash his awakening technique against Thanos.
“...Really that hard?”
The group member Lin Lie blinked, puzzled.
If he remembered correctly, the basic magical artifacts listed by Brother Lin in the group were all system-rated purple-tier.
At two hundred points per artifact, he’d need only 4,800 points to meet the array’s requirement... that doesn’t seem so hard!
After a moment’s thought, the group member Lin Lie proposed a trade: he’d exchange purple-tier weapons for sword instruction from the future Lin Lie.
The future Lin Lie had already planned to teach sword techniques; hearing this, his eyes lit up and he immediately agreed, pouring out everything he knew.
No one understands oneself better than one’s future self.
In just half an hour, the group member Lin Lie made rapid progress under the future Lin Lie’s guidance—his basic sword skills and system proficiency in major techniques surged, nearing breakthrough.
If time allowed, he’d have asked for more.
But sadly, the others had already exchanged intelligence and learned that Nebula had been captured alive.
The future Avengers had lived with Nebula for five years—they deeply cared for her and refused to abandon her.
The Guardians immediately backed them; others, upon learning Nebula’s actions, joined in support.
Thus, the Avengers alliance assembled, preparing to fight Thanos of Year 14 to the death for Nebula.
United in purpose, morale high—Lin Yu had no reason to refuse.
He waved his hand, erecting a magical barrier spanning a hundred li, then instantly teleported Year 14’s Nebula to the battlefield and forced her to contact Year 14’s Thanos.
“Boom!”
The next instant, a black warship emerged from the quantum tunnel, hovering above the battlefield.
Its massive hull dwarfed the sky—though smaller than the twenty-kilometer-long Chitauri mothership, it stretched seven or eight kilometers, like a dark island suspended in midair.
Undoubtedly, this was Thanos’s personal vessel—the Sanctuary II!
Crimson and pale blue cannons hung from its sides, aimed at the dense ranks of the Avengers alliance below.
A blue beam shot from the ship’s center, roaring as it slammed into the ground.
When the beam faded, a towering figure stood there.
He had wrinkled purple skin, wore a dark-gold helmet and full battle armor, gripped a double-bladed greatsword, slowly raised his head, and faced the entire Avengers army alone, speaking calmly:
“This is the future...”
“Shiiii! Shiiii! Shiiii!”
“Boom! Boom! Boom!”
“Bang! Bang! Bang!”
Before he could finish, the Avengers, already boiling with rage, struck as one.
Energy beams of every color surged from all directions, merging with lightning from the sky, engulfing Thanos’s figure.
In an instant, his position was buried under chaotic energy, kicking up a storm of dust.
“Enough talk!”
“Don’t bother with morals—take him down together!”
Amid several boastful shouts, the Avengers’ alliance had no more hesitation and unleashed a barrage of attacks upon Thanos.
Unfortunately, they seemed unaware of the rule: smoke does no harm.
Amid the swirling dust, Thanos bore no obvious wounds; his golden armor was merely cracked, and his purple, potato-like face was caked with ash and soot.
He spun his twin-bladed greatsword, enduring the onslaught of energy blasts while snarling through gritted teeth:
“You brought this on yourselves!”
Before he finished speaking, the Sanctuary II above immediately activated; its side-mounted cannons glowed crimson.
Lin Yu glanced calmly at the sky, then raised his arm. Six Infinity Stones floated upward, and the Purple Power Stone, under his control, blazed with brilliant light.
Once aligned with the black warship above, Lin Yu opened his fingers wide—then clenched them tightly!
In an instant, the massive Sanctuary II cracked open with jagged fissures; purple light erupted from the cracks, staining the entire hull the deep violet of the Power Stone.
“BOOM!”
With a deafening explosion, the newly arrived Sanctuary II shattered apart.
Terrifying energy poured from the ship’s hull, forming a colossal fireball that blotted out the sky and turned all clouds crimson.
The massive wreckage fell like meteorites, trailing searing flames, creating a rain of fire comparable to forbidden magic.
Lin Yu could not ignore such a cataclysm. He thought, and the Power Stone dimmed its glow, replaced by the Space Stone’s blue radiance, releasing waves of spatial force.
In an instant, a speck of black light bloomed at the explosion’s center, expanding within a blink into a black hole over a hundred meters wide, swallowing all flames and debris.
The falling metal fragments sensed the devouring force, froze midair, then shot backward at greater speed, vanishing into the dark void.
In mere breaths, the famed Sanctuary II vanished entirely.
Lin Yu snapped his fingers; the Space Stone glowed blue, erasing the black hole as an afterthought.
“...That’s it? Just like that?”
Beside Lin Yu, two Lin Lies stared blankly at the sky.
But soon, Future Lin Lie snapped back to awareness and cried urgently: “Where’s Nebula?”
“There.”
Lin Yu gestured toward a spot not far behind him.
Future Lin Lie whirled around—and there, indeed, stood Nebula, dazed and bewildered.
And not just her: the 2014 version of Gamora had also been rescued by Lin Yu and now stood beside Nebula, equally stunned, staring at the scene before them.
Everyone was saved!
Future Lin Lie exhaled in relief, then asked cautiously:
“So... even without the Gauntlet, you can still wield the power of the Infinity Stones?”
“Roughly. But I can’t channel all six stones’ power together like the Gauntlet allows.”
Future Lin Lie hesitated: “Then Thanos...”
Lin Yu glanced at him: “You’re wondering why I didn’t act against Thanos?”
Future Lin Lie nodded vigorously—yes, exactly.
Lin Yu laughed, then shook his head, glancing at the unarmed Thanos, now being besieged by Thor and the others, looking frantic and disheveled:
“What’s the point of me stepping in...”
“Let them vent their anger.”
