Chapter 2: Entered But Not Fully Entered
In the dense primeval forest, a boy with a grass skirt wrapped around his waist sat slumped on a massive rock, gazing sadly at the twisted, shattered trees ahead.
At this point, an hour had passed since Lin Yu discovered this barrier.
When he first found this invisible barrier, he thought it might be some kind of magical ward or energy shield, but after numerous attempts, he had to admit this thing was far more than just a ward or shield.
First, the invisible barrier itself contained no energy whatsoever, and his inner universe showed no special reaction to it.
All forms of physical and energy attacks didn’t damage the barrier at all—they simply passed cleanly through it, as if the thing didn’t exist at all.
In other words, this barrier targeted only Lin Yu himself!
…But how could that be possible?
Lin Yu was equivalent to a dimensional demon god; even this world itself had to yield before him—how could a mere barrier possess the power to stop him?
Thinking of this, Lin Yu shifted his perspective and turned his attention inward to his inner universe.
After a period of self-observation and careful scrutiny, Lin Yu finally realized belatedly that this so-called barrier didn’t exist at all.
The reason he couldn’t leave this place was actually a lock and restraint imposed by his inner universe upon himself.
As previously mentioned, this world had been extremely resistant to Lin Yu’s entry.
Although the world itself had yielded under Lin Yu’s unreasonable persistence, this yielding was far from total—Lin Yu’s true self had not fully entered this world.
In simple terms, only his external body had entered this world; his inner universe remained suspended in the void, separate from the world.
This state was extremely abstract and hard to describe in words.
In short, Lin Yu was currently in a state of “entered but not fully entered”—a state of “as if entered.”
Even though he could interact with this world in human form, in essence, his true cosmic self remained barred from entering this world, never having crossed its threshold.
As for the invisible barrier, it was in fact a self-imposed restriction and lock by his outer cosmic self.
During the past hour, Lin Yu had walked a full circle along the barrier and discovered he could only move within a ten-li radius centered on the spatial coordinates where he entered the world.
“Damn, I knew this wouldn’t be simple!”
Lin Yu smashed the rock beneath him with a punch, a flicker of irritation crossing his handsome face.
He finally understood why this world had allowed him to enter.
In a sense, the lock on his true cosmic self was this world’s suppression of him.
Before his transmigration, Lin Yu had merely been an ordinary human—he had no idea how to resolve this suppression and restraint.
But it didn’t matter; his status was undeniable, and he was immortal and invincible—he had all the time in the world to study it.
So what if it’s just a different cage?~
At least the environment here is better, and there are native creatures to talk to—better than that lifeless void, isn’t it?
Lin Yu comforted himself for a while, then quickly accepted reality.
As long as he didn’t have to drift endlessly in the void, anything else was fine!
Thinking of this, Lin Yu leapt down, landing on the ground, and turned to look back at the forest behind him.
Since he’d chosen to accept reality, this ten-li radius was now Lin the Great King’s territory!
“Boom!”
With a thunderous crash, the ground beneath Lin Yu cracked open; his body shot upward and landed deep into the dense forest ahead.
As a being comparable to a dimensional demon god, Lin Yu’s power had surpassed ordinary human comprehension.
Even while studying the barrier, he had discovered that, aside from energy absorption, this body itself possessed countless divine abilities befitting his status.
Take physical strength alone—Lin Yu’s power could no longer be measured by mere numbers.
More accurately, as soon as he “moved,” no force below the scale of a single universe could stop him.
Like the first ability he discovered—[Energy Absorption]—Lin Yu named this divine trait [Irresistible Momentum].
But “irresistible momentum” didn’t mean he could punch a world to dust.
In fact, Lin Yu’s direct destructive power over the environment was negligible.
He could effortlessly lift objects weighing hundreds of millions of tons, yet he couldn’t smash a mountain with a single punch—best he could do was thrust his arm through rock without resistance.
This was because every motion he made represented the movement of his inner universe.
All his actions were interactions between two universes, not conventional outbursts of force.
Even so, Lin Yu remained an invincible presence in this world.
Just like now: a colossal creature over thirty meters long, covered in thick, earth-yellow scales, running like a moving hill—before the seemingly tiny Lin Yu, it was as weak as an ant, unable to budge him even slightly.
“Roar!!”
A deafening sonic wave spread outward in rings.
The hundred-ton beast charged forward with all its might, roaring.
Animals trembled at its roar; the earth shook beneath its feet.
Within a kilometer radius of forest, only the young boy facing the charge remained unmoved—he simply raised his right hand and pressed it against the massive, meter-long horn above its snout.
Instantly, kinetic energy and impact surged continuously into his body.
The beast’s powerful charge hit like a punch into cotton—producing no ripple at all.
Lin Yu held the horn with one hand, watching eagerly as the beast still pawed the ground, trying to shove him away, muttering nonstop:
“If I’m not mistaken, you’re the king of this territory, right?”
“Don’t try to deny it—I’ve noticed, the entire ten-li forest is reeking of your scent!”
“If you won’t speak, I’ll take that as a yes. Let me see… scales, horn, lizard head, four hooves—hmm, you’re oddly shaped. How’d you evolve like this?”
“Your size doesn’t look like something that evolved naturally—more like a monster from some fantasy tale—wait, what’s this?!”
Lin Yu stared in shock ahead.
The horned beast, realizing its charge had no effect, opened its massive jaws and gathered a yellow glow deep in its throat, then spat it out violently.
“Boom—”
The yellow orb shot out, transforming into a light column over a meter in diameter that slammed into Lin Yu.
Violent energy tore the ground, churned the air, and kicked up clouds of dust.
Seeing this, the beast’s massive yellow vertical pupils gleamed with cruel delight.
But soon, its gaze shifted to uncontainable terror.
Following its gaze, they saw yellow light pouring into the boy like rivers flowing into the sea.
Soon, the yellow light vanished entirely—only the half-naked boy remained standing, unharmed, even his grass skirt intact.
“Huh~ Interesting. What kind of energy is this?”
Lin Yu brushed nonexistent dust off his body, staring intently into the beast’s eyes: “Spiritual energy? Battle qi? Magic? Or some local power I don’t know—hey, hey, don’t run!”
The horned beast, stunned by the inexplicable sight, recoiled two steps, then turned and bolted away.
Fortunately, its massive size made it clumsy—Lin Yu merely shifted a bit of energy and caught up mid-air, twisting his body to deliver a heavy kick to its scaled back.
“Boom!”
With a roar of pain, the horned beast crashed to the ground, kicking up dust everywhere.
Lin Yu descended from the sky, landing atop the beast, staring in surprise at the sunken earth-yellow scales beneath his feet.
“Not bad. Tough as nails!”
He praised it twice, then walked to the beast’s head, looking down at its yellow eye—larger than his own head—and said calmly:
“Submit… or I beat you into submission!”
