Chapter 131: Different Possibilities
"Can I consider it again?"
When Sallyman gripped that card, the others felt nothing—it was Li En on stage who was most astonished.
He knew this girl was special.
Born of a standard great noble family, yet seemingly weathered by hardship.
Now a royal confidant, she has made her mark—seen by outsiders as the epitome of loyalty, the royal confidant among confidants.
If nothing changes, her life's greatest label will be S Daer Clan Chief.
For people like her, it's not that they don't understand the importance of power; rather, for them, authority and alignment come first.
With money and status, even those who possess power can be bought.
Of course, if you become a top-tier combatant—like the goddess floating above the city, or a legend like Purple Rose—it's another matter entirely.
When you can crush the power of mortals in one hand, power itself will pursue you, eager to draw you into its system—but reaching that state is rarer than winning the lottery. Even if everything goes perfectly, it normally takes many years of relentless toil.
"Just dabble in martial arts and magic—don't take it seriously." This is, in fact, the attitude many great noble families hold toward their heirs.
Unless you reach a strength that transcends mortal authority, it holds little meaning for their lives. The success rate for reaching such a level is so low it's negligible.
From their perspective, is it not a case of abandoning the root for the branch? Why endure blood and sweat on the frontlines when they could enjoy life and power while still obtaining everything?
Sallyman's actions now carry a hint of betrayal toward her class.
Li En instinctively glanced at the clueless Larry—she would be sent to the Church to pursue the path of a Holy Knight, not because the Labol family sought Holy Knight power, but because they craved the Church's support.
Why pursue a power with such massive side effects when an easier life is available?
Li En's confusion stemmed from knowing Sallyman and Dainya were two different people—he saw no trace of her desire for power.
"Sallyman, what are you thinking?" Li En grew more puzzled, even seeing Princess Dainya's expression turn confused.
This superior could not comprehend the bizarre maneuver of this great noble head at all.
She could have spent her youth accumulating experience and connections, then retired to the halls by a certain age, solving all problems with wealth and influence.
With her future authority and wealth, hiring great knights or great warriors would not be impossible.
Why, when she stood invincible, would she suddenly have the whim to step onto the field herself?
"Of course." The expected answer—Kuku grinned, seemingly unsurprised.
"But only three days," Kuku added. When the spirit's duration ends, everything ends naturally.
"I'm deeply grateful," Sallyman nodded in thanks.
The following time naturally saw each heir activate the card and, under Kuku's guidance, adapt to their new state.
Some showed no outward change; others collapsed immediately, unable to rise for half a day.
On Li En's side, he should be able to see records in the bestiary—perhaps their evolution paths and usage techniques could offer him some help and inspiration.
"To better control this power, you need a 'second head.' I have some suggestions."
Kuku did not present Li En's Multi-Headed Dragon God scheme; instead, he gave entirely different advice tailored to each apprentice's condition.
For alchemists, for instance, he suggested solving the problem with alchemy—creating an "external thinking device" or fusing a new thought circuit. If maintaining minimal output, they could even consider using a magical pet—he recommended mechanical or golem-type pets on the spot.
Another approach: create a "ghost," using an artificial spirit bound to the body as a second self.
This is difficult for ordinary people, but for holders of "Shadow Divine Power," it's a viable possibility.
Shadow deities also have priests, who are spellcasters—dark elves can strive in this direction.
Of course, if your computational capacity is high enough, you needn't change anything—single-core dual-process isn't out of the question.
Every transcendent is different; their fused soul abilities vary subtly and require constant adjustment.
Some races and power systems lack soul abilities entirely—this power still functions, but manifests differently.
Kuku offered only suggestions and direction, using his experience to guide them—the specifics remained up to them.
The machine race was simplest: just add a crystal chip. Previous damaged parts had been collected in bulk—nearly all prepared.
"Gugu, you're simple too—you can use the mental network to share this extra burden with your kind." Gugu seemed to consider the possibility, but he already had his own plan.
His compatibility with Kuku was also high; mushroom folk are naturally cluster-conscious—he'd even prepared to cultivate a "little mushroom" inside himself.
Kuku whispered at length with "Bai," who nodded instinctively—apparently accepting the advice.
Avoiding crowds wasn't just for secrecy—it involved knowledge of "Beasts." The less known, the better.
As Kuku had said earlier, beastfolk are best suited to solve this problem—multi-headed snakes, multi-headed dragons, chimera—plenty of multi-headed evolutionary paths.
"It's also possible to cultivate a second thought line within the same body—but prepare for a struggle over bodily control, and your spellcasting skill must be sufficient. Personally, I recommend preparing a cradle and shackles for the newborn soul."
Li En didn't need these—he himself was his second thought line, feeling no trace of soul division.
If others cultivated a second thought line, they'd likely soon develop "another me," and trouble would surely follow.
"I accidentally cultivated so many lunatics," Li En thought—likely a blunt truth.
Kuku minimized side effects as much as possible for each individual.
For every candidate, he had a plan ready—as if he'd long anticipated this.
Time passed thus, each candidate, amid inner turmoil, seizing every moment—they knew their mentor's departure was likely just days away.
They still had too much to ask, too much to learn.
Li En also saw Sallyman pulled aside by Dainya, who spoke at length; out of respect for her privacy, Li En did not eavesdrop.
This night was perhaps the most fulfilling—everyone was busy.
But since the heirs had no physical bodies here, adapting to their new states would have to wait until they awoke.
Finally, as the dreams faded, the new candidates returned one by one to the mortal world.
This time, like seeds sown, they waited for the day they would sprout.
Whether this world would birth a group of schizophrenic lunatics or a band of heroes seeking to change the world—perhaps, as Kuku said, only future generations could judge.
"Isn't the most likely outcome that both exist among them? The chance they're the same person is also high—lunatics can be great historical figures too."
Kuku himself took it all in stride; after tonight ended, the spirit's presence had noticeably diminished—he was nearly out of time.
Upon waking from sleep, Li En saw Kuku still writing and sketching at the bedside, rushing to record more.
But Li En, barely awake, was dragged straight into Sallyman's room.
"I have something I need to discuss with you," Sallyman said with unprecedented seriousness.

As the dream visitors departed, the hidden mechanism, activated by the birth of the heirs, stirred once more.
【Detected emergence of Spirit Heir. Soul Bodong locked. Personality model locked.】
【Individuals: Vitoria V. Unir, Gugu, Ophelia, Arachne Tarabal, Stephen Fielranch, Sylvia (Bai). Total: six. Specific ability traits recorded below.】
【Spirit Bestiary V2 recording complete. Data uploaded to Spirit Hall V1.】
【Spirit Hall V1 verification passed. Potential assessment passed. After the heir's death, their soul and achievements will be evaluated to determine whether to invite them into the Spirit Hall.】
This time, due to someone's caprice, the Spirit Hall may soon reap a great harvest.
