Chapter 270: Slaying
The sky brightened.
The black knight floated in midair, his back now sprouting orange-gold wings.
This sight resembled a floating archangel, descending slowly beneath the sun to judge the wicked and redeem the mortal.
"sol (holy sun)"
When this miraculous scene unfolded underground, it felt even more like a divine miracle.
As the "Words of the Sun" were chanted, Li En transformed into an orange-red blazing sun—but this time, the power had easily multiplied fivefold or more.
This was Li En's first time using a two-character Dragon Word spell; it was an entirely unknown experience, and he could only grit his teeth and endure.
". kerva (blade of severance)! "
When two "Dragon Words" combined to form a "vocabulary," the meaning contained within became entirely different.
The model of the "sword" was the foundation; this time, what flowed into it was not just magic, but the "sun" itself.
Finally, above Li En's head appeared a "sun"—a sword-shaped sun radiating holiness and searing heat.
This holy "Dragon Word phrase" forged a sacred weapon.
"Moo!"
The moment the holy sun-sword appeared, its radiance began to "drive away evil."
The Urda Bull Demon, saturated with hellish aura, was naturally suppressed by this radiant power and screamed in agony beneath the purifying light.
"solskerva (holy blazing sun-sword)! "
Li En did not hesitate; his clenched hands slammed down.
And within the empty space encircled by his arms, the sun-sword crashed down with full force!
"Moo moo moo!"
The screaming beast had nowhere to retreat; the near-infinite radiance exploded the instant it struck.
And this strike still carried the unbreakable "Wallbreaker!"
"Liberation. Purification. Gratitude."
The entire underground lit up.
Light and heat spilled endlessly; not only the combatants, but even Claire and the other warriors were forced to retreat.
The earth began to burn; vast stretches of vines turned to ash, and the green demonic flames were instantly purged.
When the light faded, what echoed in the air was no longer the beast's guttural cries filled with malice, but the final words of the World Tree sapling.
". inally… freedom."
The light vanished, and the colossal beast finally fell still.
Steam and shattered stone filled everywhere; when the smoke cleared, the massive monster lay collapsed on the ground as a giant corpse.
The once-mighty Urda Bull Demon had lost its head; a gaping hole pierced from skull to chest, and most of its flesh had been charred to carbon.
The judgmental sword had struck the Bull Demon's core with full force.
The "angel" descended slowly, appearing holy and untouchable—but he was now a bloodied mess.
A single-character "Dragon Word" was roughly equivalent to a two- to three-rank spell's base mana output; Li En estimated a two-character one was around four to five ranks.
"At least a sixth-rank spell."
That he hadn't died on the spot was because Li En, sensing he was losing control, had activated the spell prematurely, forcing it to erupt in an incomplete form.
"Are you alright?" Hela caught the falling Li En in her arms, unbothered by the blood caking her hands.
"Need to rest…"
Li En's own condition was dire: the eagle's wings hovered above his "Dragon Wings," and the powers of serpent, dragon, and eagle had all been activated merely to sustain him through this crushing exhaustion.
That scene of an angel descending from heaven was nothing more than his bloodline, fully awakened by the will to survive, forcing out the eagle's feathering ability.
Yet, looking at the massive headless corpse, Li En still nodded in satisfaction.
"Find someone to carry me—you keep pursuing. I'm going to sleep." With that, Li En collapsed into unconsciousness.
Once they confirmed his breath remained steady, Hela and the others exhaled in relief.
They stared at the charred corpse, their expressions still complex.
Even though the mushroom man had drained its life force as the primary cause, this explosive strike that shattered its body still far exceeded conventional expectations.
