Chapter 1084

The power of a heavy compound crossbow is enough to penetrate a person's skull at such a close distance.

Plus, this Mr. Xu himself was a top assassin extremely skilled in using crossbows to kill, so he had absolute certainty that he could kill Ye Chen with one strike.

He had been in the assassin field for fifteen years and had never missed a shot using a crossbow.

Therefore, after aiming at Ye Chen with extreme speed, he pulled the trigger without hesitation!

The bowstring of the compound crossbow made a crisp sound, and immediately afterward, a crossbow bolt made of titanium alloy and carbon fiber sped toward Ye Chen's temple.

The speed of a compound crossbow exceeds one hundred meters per second, and this heavy compound crossbow was a modified killing weapon, with a speed approaching two hundred meters per second.

At such a close distance, the reaction time left for the other party was no more than 0.5 seconds.

That is to say, the other party didn't even have a chance to turn his head to look!

Therefore, that Mr. Xu had already felt confident and viewed Ye Chen as a dead man.

He was even ready to witness Ye Chen's skull explode.

Moreover, he knew very well that the tip of this crossbow bolt was quenched with highly toxic poison. Even if it only scratched a little bit of the other party's skin, the other party would definitely die!

However, what he never expected was that Ye Chen didn't even look over, just reached out and grabbed the crossbow bolt that was shooting past!

"This... how is this possible!"

That Mr. Xu was already stunned!

The captain was also stunned and blurted out: "Mr. Xu, am I seeing things?! The thing that guy is holding in his hand is the crossbow bolt you just shot?!"

Mr. Xu was sweating profusely: "Yes... this guy... is simply a pervert! I have never seen such a strong person..."

Having said that, Mr. Xu hurriedly asked: "Who exactly is he?!"

The captain was filled with apprehension: "I don't know either! I just received the Old Master's order to notify you to kill him..."

Mr. Xu gritted his teeth: "I'll shoot him one more time, I don't believe he can still catch it!"

This compound crossbow had two sets of bowstrings and could load two crossbow bolts, which could be fired continuously.

After both crossbow bolts were fired, the bowstrings had to be reloaded. Reloading such a heavy crossbow was not an easy task; even for Mr. Xu himself, it would take at least ten seconds.

Therefore, the remaining crossbow bolt was almost his last chance.

Just at this moment, the captain suddenly stopped him and blurted out: "Mr. Xu, the Old Master has ordered, if you can't kill him, then execute the emergency plan! Do you have absolute certainty that you can kill him with this last crossbow bolt?"

Mr. Xu was stunned for a moment, hesitated, and shook his head: "I don't..."

The captain said with a cold expression: "Mr. Xu, if you don't have absolute certainty, then... then execute the emergency plan!"

Mr. Xu nodded gently and said: "Alright, then execute the emergency plan!"

At this time, on the deck of the other ship.

Su Ruoli saw Ye Chen catch the incoming crossbow bolt with one hand, and her whole body was filled with horror!

She exclaimed in her heart: "This person... is this person even human?! The power of this crossbow bolt is stronger than my strike just now, and the speed is much faster than mine! He didn't even look, and could catch it with one hand?! What level has this person's martial arts reached?!"

At this time, Ye Chen saw Su Ruoli's expression of astonishment and smiled indifferently: "What? Is it that your worldview has been overturned?"

Su Ruoli nodded with difficulty.

Although she didn't want to admit her failure and inadequacy, the strength of the man in front of her was indeed unimaginably strong, completely exceeding her understanding of martial arts.

Ye Chen sneered and turned his head to look at the ship opposite.

The assassin holding the compound crossbow on the ship was startled by his gaze.

He hesitated slightly, then whispered to the captain: "Whether this arrow hits or not, you must immediately set the ship's power to maximum and leave at the fastest speed. The man on the opposite side is too strong, the further away we are from him, the better!"

The captain immediately placed his hand on the engine power gear and said to the first mate beside him: "After Mr. Xu fires the second crossbow bolt, you immediately steer hard to the left, and I will set the power to maximum at the same time. Do you understand?"

The first mate blurted out: "Understood!"

"Good!" The captain nodded, looking at Mr. Xu beside him nervously.

That Mr. Xu took a deep breath, then immediately pulled the trigger and fired a cold arrow!

Immediately afterward, he shouted: "Retreat! Retreat quickly!"

The captain and the first mate immediately began to cooperate, controlling the ship to steer hard to the left, preparing to escape at full speed.

Just as he fired the crossbow bolt, Ye Chen already felt the crossbow bolt speeding toward him.

He originally wanted to reach out and catch it, but suddenly gave up the action.

Because he detected that the crossbow bolt was not aimed at him!

It was aimed at Su Ruoli beside him!

The next moment, Su Ruoli suddenly felt a wave of severe pain in her thigh.

She let out a painful scream, looked down, and saw that her right leg had been completely pierced by a crossbow bolt!

The severe pain made her grit her teeth, and at the same time, she was filled with surprise in her heart.

"Why? Why would the other party shoot the crossbow bolt at my leg?!"

Just thinking of this, she immediately felt a powerful energy flowing through her blood vessels all over her body.

She was a martial arts person with a certain amount of internal energy, and she immediately realized that this kind of energy was nothing else but highly toxic poison that could kill people!

Her face turned pale instantly!

However, a moment later, she felt a sense of relief: "Anyway, in the hands of this man in front of me, I am already unable to survive or die. Now, no matter what, I will soon die of poison. In this way, my identity will never be made public, and I won't cause any trouble for Dad..."

Thinking of this, a look of relief suddenly appeared on her face.

Ye Chen saw this and couldn't help but frown, saying coldly: "Want to die so much? Don't worry, the more you want to die, the less easily I will let you die!"

Having said that, he immediately grabbed her wrist, sent a trace of spiritual energy from his fingertips into her pulse, cleared the poison in her body, and at the same time temporarily sealed all her meridians, making her completely unable to move.

Subsequently, he threw the first crossbow bolt he was holding toward the ship that was preparing to escape.

That Mr. Xu was staring at the two, wanting to see when Su Ruoli would die of poison, but didn't expect a black shadow to fly in front of him!

Immediately afterward, he felt severe pain in his forehead. The next second, the crossbow bolt pierced his crown, causing him to die on the spot!

The captain and other crew members in the cabin saw this scene and were scared out of their wits. The captain was trembling all over, pushing the power control lever desperately, and shouted: "Why is this ship moving so slowly!"

The first mate held the ship's wheel and shouted with all his might: "Captain! We've already steered hard to the left! Turning in place is very difficult to speed up, it will be fine once we turn!"

Just when this ship was desperately trying to turn and escape, Ye Chen ran a few steps on the deck and jumped onto the other party's deck!

At this time, a crew member was trembling all over: "Captain... that person... jumped onto our ship!"
