Chapter 2502: My Intuition Is Right!

Hearing Lin Wan'er's question, the old man pursed his lips and sighed: "Miss, there is actually a very troublesome underlying logic behind this matter."

Lin Wan'er said: "Tell me."

The old man said: "Whether it is the first type or the second type, the number of people hidden is actually not small. Some special talents, military experts, intelligence personnel, and special service personnel have their identities encrypted. There are thousands or tens of thousands of such people in the country."

Speaking of this, the old man changed the subject and added: "However, the trouble lies in the fact that although these two types of hidden people have a database, most people who can access this database do not have the highest authority of this database."

"That is to say, if I used these two methods to hide two people's information back then, even if I have the authority of this database, I can only retrieve the information of these two people. I have no right to retrieve other people's information. Not only do I have no right to retrieve it, I don't even know how many people are in it;"

"Conversely, even if you also have the relevant authority of this database, you cannot find the people I hid in this database. We are mutually insulated;"

"Moreover, there are multiple branches in this, and everyone's level and authority are different. For example, the intelligence department, its highest person in charge, has the right to retrieve all information hidden by the intelligence department, but has no right to retrieve the situation of other departments."

Lin Wan'er thought for a while and asked: "There must be someone who has the authority to retrieve the entire database, right?"

The old man smiled awkwardly: "Miss, there are very, very few people who have the authority, and you can count them with one hand. And these people absolutely cannot leak information to anyone who does not have the authority, so this road is currently impassable for me."

"I understand." Lin Wan'er nodded, knowing that starting from the database retrieval authority was already impossible.

So, she pondered for a long time, suddenly remembered something, and asked: "By the way, if a person's identity information was not encrypted from birth, can his information before being encrypted still be found?"

The old man replied: "If it is the first type where all information is completely hidden, making this person seem as if he has never appeared in this world, then his birth information will also be erased;"

"If it is the second type, it depends on how the person who hid his information specifically operates. Some people, for some purpose, might also erase everything; but some people, if they want to create the illusion that this person is missing, they will not erase the previous information, because this information must be made public to deal with inquiries from interested people."

"For example, if a person disappears for some reason when he is 22 years old after graduating from university, his file information before 22 will not be erased, but a label of missing person or already dead will be added to his file. This information will not be encrypted either. Even if it is just an ordinary policeman with the lowest authority, he can easily find his file information before disappearing in the population system."

Lin Wan'er's eyes lit up, and she blurted out: "Does the information you just gave me include Ye Chen who is already missing and already dead?"

The old man replied: "It includes the missing ones, but not the confirmed dead ones."

Lin Wan'er suddenly thought that she had indeed seen a lot of children's information just now.

It's just that when she saw the children's photos, she skipped them directly without looking carefully at the specific information of these children.

However, this would ignore a situation, that is: if this child's photo is not the child's actual state now, but the child went missing when he was young, and his file information stayed when he was young and was not updated, in this case, she would ignore it just now.

So, she hurriedly said to the old man: "I will re-read the information of the missing persons first. If I still can't find it, you will help me retrieve the information of the relevant personnel who have already died."

The old man nodded: "No problem!"

Looking at the computer again, she returned the information to the first person, and then began to screen one by one.

Soon, a black and white photo appeared before her eyes, making her pupils shrink.

The little boy in this black and white photo looked like he was only six or seven years old. The boy's appearance was handsome, and his features and charm made Lin Wan'er feel a bit familiar.

Then, she looked at the boy's information and muttered: "Ye Chen, Yanjing person, son of Ye Changying and An Chengxi..."

"This Ye Chen, studied at Yanjing No. 2 Experimental Primary School twenty-one years ago, transferred to Jin Ling No. 1 Primary School twenty years ago, and then went missing. The file information has not been updated since then..."

The old man heard her muttering and couldn't help saying: "Ye Changying and An Chengxi? This couple was quite famous in Yanjing more than twenty years ago!"

Lin Wan'er asked him: "Have you heard of them?"

"Not just heard of them." The old man said earnestly: "I have some friendship with the Ye family. The Ye family's old house is not far from here. It takes

"So that's it!" Lin Wan'er nodded and sighed: "No wonder the name An Chengxi sounds so familiar. I think I have read a biography about her."

As she spoke, Lin Wan'er looked at the black-and-white photo of Ye Chen taken before he entered the first grade of elementary school, and said seriously: "I think this little kid looks a bit like the Ye Chen I am looking for. Combined with the fact that his name is also Ye Chen, I estimate that there is a high probability that it is him."

"That's unlikely, right?" The old man said subconsciously: "Twenty years ago, Ye Changying and An Chengxi met with an accident in Jin Ling. Both husband and wife died, and the eight-year-old Ye Chen disappeared and has been missing ever since. Both the Ye family and the An family have been looking for the whereabouts of this child for so many years, but there has been no news. The strength of these two families is very strong, especially the An family, which is as rich as a country. It is unlikely that the child they haven't found is still alive."

Lin Wan'er said seriously: "If, according to what you just said, this Ye Chen's identity was hidden in the second way, wouldn't no one be able to find it? So what if they are as rich as a country? It is impossible to get information from those very, very few people."

After hearing Lin Wan'er's analysis, the old man couldn't help but nod and say: "Miss, you are right, this possibility does exist!"

Lin Wan'er suddenly thought of something, pointed to the string of Yan Jing local ID numbers of the eight-year-old Ye Chen, and said: "By the way, didn't you say that if it is the second encryption method, you can find the encrypted information with both the name and the ID number? Then help me check Ye Chen's name, plus this ID number, and see if you can find any results."

"Okay!" The old man was also a little excited. He immediately opened a backend on his laptop and entered Ye Chen's name and original ID number.

Afterwards, the two looked at the results with full expectation, but found that the information given by the system was still the file of Ye Chen who had disappeared at the age of eight.

Lin Wan'er frowned: "Why can't I find it? Did someone give him a new identity?"

After speaking, she couldn't help but ask and answer herself: "That's probably what happened!"

Lin Wan'er guessed correctly. After Tang Sihai arranged for Ye Chen to enter the welfare institute, he created a new identity for Ye Chen. Although the new identity was still called Ye Chen, it was no longer the Ye Chen of the Yan Jing Ye family, but the Ye Chen who had no father or mother and was adopted by the Jin Ling Welfare Institute.

His household registration was placed on the collective household registration of the Jin Ling Welfare Institute. All children adopted by the welfare institute were like this.

Therefore, he naturally had a new ID number, an ID number belonging to Jin Ling.

In this way, neither the Ye family nor the An family could find him anymore. The only one who could find him was Tang Sihai.

At this time, the old man said: "If someone changed his identity, then this set of information definitely wouldn't be found. You must know the name and ID number of his new identity to find it."

Lin Wan'er frowned and said: "If someone helped him settle in another place and got a household registration and identity information from another place, then the identity that was actually encrypted for him was not his identity before he disappeared, but his new identity after he disappeared."

Speaking of this, Lin Wan'er added: "I understand... Twenty years ago, after Ye Chen disappeared, someone hid his whereabouts, gave him a new identity, and hid the file information of his new identity. Thus, the previous Ye Chen disappeared at the age of eight, and a new 'Ye Chen', or a 'Ye Chen' with another name, appeared in a new place. In this way, except for the person who encrypted his information at the beginning, no one else could find him."

The old man hesitated for a moment, but still said: "Miss, it is not 100% certain yet that the Ye Chen you are looking for is this Ye Chen! What if this missing Ye Chen only looks a bit like the person you are looking for? Wouldn't you be misled by this speculation? After all, a child's facial features haven't fully developed yet, and it's normal to look a bit like someone, but it's very likely that after puberty, they will develop in a completely different direction."

Lin Wan'er nodded and said seriously: "What you said makes sense. Although my intuition tells me that the Ye Chen I am looking for should be this Ye Chen who disappeared twenty years ago! However, for this kind of thing, you can't rely too much on intuition. It is indeed a bit rash to confirm it just by looking at a childhood photo that looks a bit similar."

Thinking of this, she blinked her eyes, remembered something, and said with a smile: "By the way, can you help me pull up the file information of Ye Changying and An Chengxi?"

The old man said: "Ye Changying is fine, but An Chengxi is not, because An Chengxi is a US citizen. You can only check some official files she left in China after she married Ye Changying."

"It's okay," Lin Wan'er said, "I just need photos of the two of them."

"That's no problem." The old man hurriedly retrieved the information of Ye Changying and An Chengxi in the system again.

When Lin Wan'er saw the handsome black-and-white ID photo in Ye Changying's file, her tightly furrowed brows instantly relaxed!

She couldn't help but clap her hands excitedly and smiled: "Haha, my intuition is right! It really is him! The Ye Chen I am looking for looks almost exactly the same as this Ye Changying!"
