Chapter 514: I Will Act on Behalf of Heaven!

Thinking of this, Ye Chen made a phone call to Hong Wu.

After all, Hong Wu was the underground emperor of Jin Ling; his informants were far more numerous than the average person's.

As soon as the call connected, Master Hong Wu asked respectfully, "Master Ye, what are your instructions?"

Ye Chen said, "Ten children, two or three years old, were stolen from the Jin Ling orphanage by human traffickers last night. You've been in the Jin Ling underground for a long time; help me investigate if anyone has been spreading word that they want to buy children, or if anyone has been asking around about children."

Many cases are solved not necessarily because the investigators are exceptionally gifted or have high-tech assistance, but because the criminals left key clues within their specific circles.

For example, if someone is murdered, the police have to start by identifying the body and conducting a slow investigation, but people in the underworld know exactly who that person offended, what kind of trouble they were involved in, and who most likely killed them.

Or, if someone loses a car locally and reports it to the police, the police's method is usually to investigate where the car went, where it disappeared, and who had contact with the car based on surveillance footage.

But if you ask people in the underground world directly who steals cars locally, or who is responsible for fencing stolen goods, you'll basically get the right answer on the first try.

But the key is that the underground world has very clear rules and regulations. Even for insiders, to obtain certain information, one's ability and status must match the information.

Otherwise, it's impossible to find out anything.

For example, if a small-time thug wants to know what business Hong Wu is currently doing, who he has eaten with, or who he has met, it's basically impossible to find out.

But if Hong Wu wants to know what a small-time thug is busy with or who they are in frequent contact with, all it takes is one word, and his underlings will find out for him.

Hong Wu knew that Ye Chen had lived in the orphanage from his early childhood through his teenage years, so he also knew that Ye Chen must be furious about the children being stolen.

So he immediately set to work and began investigating.

A dozen minutes later, a clue was fed back to Hong Wu.

There was a kid in Jin Ling named Liu Zhaochen who, while eating with friends in the underworld a while ago, had asked where one could buy children in Jin Ling.

Ye Chen asked him hurriedly, "What's the background of this Liu Zhaochen?"

Hong Wu said, "This kid is a local from Jin Ling. He's been stealing and pilfering since he was small, and his family makes a living by stealing and pilfering. Before he was even an adult, he had participated in many illegal and criminal activities, from small-time theft to robbery and kidnapping. As long as it brings in money, this kid does it."

"A few years ago, his whole family was into pirated movies and made some money. They would sneak into movie theaters with cameras to secretly film movies that were currently showing, then burn them onto pirated discs to sell. They were doing quite well for a while."

"As a result, a big shot invested in a big-budget movie, and it was pirated by this kid as soon as it was released. Then that big shot had someone chop off one of this kid's hands. Since then, he hasn't dared to do pirated movies, and the whole family switched to being snakeheads, which is human trafficking."

"His whole family specializes in trafficking underage children, usually selling them to the Beggar Sect in the south. Sometimes they even get a batch of underage children themselves to rent out to the Beggar Sect. I heard a while ago that the police launched a special rescue operation targeting the underage children controlled by the Beggar Sect and rescued a large number of children, so the Beggar Sect has been looking to buy children everywhere. He is the one who specializes in scouting for children for the Beggar Sect."

Ye Chen asked coldly, "His whole family does this business?!"

"Yes!" Hong Wu said, "A family of six: his dad, his mom, his two brothers, and a sister, they all do this kind of business."

Ye Chen gritted his teeth and said, "This kind of trash really deserves to die!"

After saying this, he asked again, "Hong Wu, do you know where this kid is now? I want to know all his movements for the past two days!"

Hong Wu said, "I'm having people look into it; I'm sure there will be clues soon!"

Ye Chen gave a hum and said, "If there are any clues, you must tell me immediately!"

Hong Wu said respectfully, "Alright, Master Ye, I understand!"

Ye Chen hung up the phone, turned back to Auntie Li and Li Xiaofen, and said, "Auntie Li, Xiaofen, you two don't need to worry too much. I've already asked a friend to help look around. He has quite a lot of influence; I think there will be some clues fed back soon."

Auntie Li said with red eyes, "Ye Chen, thank you so much!"

Ye Chen said hurriedly, "Auntie Li, what are you saying? I also came out of the orphanage. Now that the younger brothers and sisters in the orphanage are lost, I will definitely do my best to find them back!"

Li Xiaofen choked up and said, "Brother Ye Chen, you donated so much money yesterday. On the way back, Auntie Li was still saying that we were going to add a set of surveillance equipment to the entire orphanage. I didn't expect that today..."

Speaking of this, Li Xiaofen couldn't control herself and started crying again.

Ye Chen understood Auntie Li and Li Xiaofen very well. Most of the people who work in the orphanage are very kind, and they treat these children without parents as their own, caring for them meticulously and treating themselves as the parents of these orphans.

Now that the orphanage has lost 10 children all at once, it is naturally a huge blow to them.

Ye Chen was just about to comfort them when Hong Wu's call came through.

He answered it hurriedly.

He heard Hong Wu say on the other end, "Master Ye, I've already had people look into it. That Liu Zhaochen temporarily borrowed a cloned Iveco from a friend in the underworld last night. The family of six left their home at night, and there has been no trace of them since the early morning."

"Borrowed an Iveco?!" Ye Chen's eyebrows shot up, and he said coldly, "The people who stole the children were also driving an Iveco. I estimate it must be this guy and his family who did it!"

Hong Wu said immediately, "Master Ye, should I provide this kid's phone number to the police now, so the police can track him down based on his phone's location?"

Ye Chen said coldly, "No! For scum like this who specifically poison children, letting them go to jail is too easy on them! I want their lives!"

Hong Wu was startled and blurted out, "If the Master has any needs, Hong Wu will not hesitate even if it means death!"

Ye Chen asked, "Can you locate his position based on that kid's phone?"

Hong Wu said, "No problem. I have people at China Mobile and China Unicom; I can investigate his real-time location information!"

Ye Chen said, "Good! Help me figure out his location now!"

Hong Wu said immediately, "Master Ye, give me five minutes!"

"Good!"

Ye Chen hung up the phone and immediately called Chen Zekai, asking straight away, "How many helicopters are currently available in Jin Ling? How many people can each carry?"

Chen Zekai said, "Young Master, Buckingham Palace has two heavy helicopters, each capable of carrying twelve people. The airport has a general aviation company invested in by the Ye family, and there are three medium-sized helicopters, each capable of carrying eight people!"

Ye Chen gave a hum and said, "Have all the helicopters ready, bring your best men, and also, have one of the helicopters come to the vicinity of the Jin Ling orphanage to pick me up right now!"

Chen Zekai asked hurriedly, "Young Master, what are you going to do?"

Ye Chen said coldly, "I am going to act on behalf of heaven!" ===== CHAPTER 515 =====
