Chapter 116: Carry Them Away, Next Victim Please
The three of them left Room 208.
They exchanged glances in the hallway, saying nothing, and returned to their respective rooms.
About an hour passed.
The three people lying in their beds suddenly opened their eyes. The fat otaku and the Little Girl climbed out of their windows.
Outside in the pouring rain, the two spotted each other. They were startled at first, but quickly relaxed, neither in a rush to leave.
The rain gradually stopped. The front door of The Small Hotel slowly opened. The Old Man, looking incredibly sneaky, poked his head out, glanced around, and stepped out of the building.
He spotted the two of them the moment he set foot outside.
Thus, the three decided to team up.
But before setting off, as if sharing a telepathic link, the trio simultaneously checked their Watches.
On the way, the Old Man smoked a Cigarette, while the Little Girl stroked her teddy bear. Only the fat otaku had failed to grab any snacks from the first floor. After thinking for a moment, he reached out to the Old Man and asked for a few Cigarettes.
According to Lin Jiabei's story, the police car had not yet arrived by the time she reached the muddy ground.
Yet, she had just taken a shower in her room when the two police officers arrived at the hotel.
This meant the distance between the muddy ground and The Small Hotel was more than a half-hour walk.
However, when the three arrived at the muddy road, they glanced at their Watches...
It was 3:50 AM.
Furthermore, there were indeed three vehicles parked on the muddy road: two light red cars and one police cruiser.
These three vehicles...
Had been involved in a multi-car pileup!!!!
The trio carefully inspected the collision marks, discovering that the positions of the three cars were very strange.
The first light red car was parked horizontally across the middle of the road and had been T-boned by the second light red car, which in turn had been rear-ended by the police cruiser.
Seeing this scene.
The three fell deep into thought. Showing no intention of leaving in a hurry, they opened the car doors one by one and felt the driver's seats.
The seats were not wet, indicating that when the female police officer retrieved her Pistol, she had not driven the vehicles to fake this scene.
At the same time, the airbags in the second light red car, which was sandwiched in the middle, had deployed from the impact. They also saw blood on the airbags and the windshield.
However, acting out of an abundance of caution, the three of them thoroughly checked the interiors of the cars again. They only felt at ease after confirming there were no traces of rainwater dampening the inside.
On the way back, the trio remained completely silent, each lost in their own thoughts.
The Little Girl frowned.
'First, there is a problem with Lin Jiabei's story. She said that when she arrived at the muddy road, a light red car was already parked ahead.'
'She made no mention of a police car in her story, but that doesn't mean she didn't see one. Combining this with the three-car collision and the injured female police officer...'
'It can be deduced that the first light red car was parked horizontally across the road to intercept the second light red car. Then, the police car rear-ended the second light red car, forcing it to collide with the first.'
'The second light red car was sandwiched between two vehicles. This was no longer a traffic accident; it was murder!'
'Therefore, among Chen Ran, Lin Jiabei, and the two police officers, whoever is injured is the owner of the second light red car!'
'The female officer is the owner!'
'If she is the owner, then someone must have dressed her in a police uniform, which means the Deceiver's Tongue has been established!'
'The evidence: out of the three cars, only the second car's airbags had deployed, and blood was also found inside it.'
'The female officer braved the heavy rain to retrieve her Gun. If she had entered any of the three cars during that time, there would definitely be traces of rainwater inside.'
'Therefore, the female officer only retrieved her Gun and did not move any of the three cars.'
'So, the blood in the second light red car belongs to its owner. Out of the four of them, only the female officer is injured, which means she is the owner.'
'This deduction is absolutely correct and can break the Deceiver's Tongue. The female officer is not a police officer.'
'Later, if anyone firmly claims that the female officer is a police officer, I can enact a Judgment on them immediately.'
'And based on the initial deduction, Chen Ran is not a police officer either.'
'In other words, there are now three absolute truths: Chen Ran is not a police officer, the female officer is not a police officer, and Lin Jiabei is a police officer.'
'These three truths are a minefield. Anyone who dares to voice a dissenting opinion is telling a lie!'
Thinking up to this point, a sinister smile crept across the Little Girl's face.
The fat otaku couldn't hold back. He reached out to smack her forehead, wanting to tell her not to smile like that in the middle of the night because it was creepy.
However, just before his hand touched the Little Girl's forehead, he was repelled backward and crashed heavily onto the ground.
'Dumbass!'
The other two ignored the fat otaku's antics, quickening their pace as they hurried back to The Small Hotel.
It was 4:30 AM.
When the three returned to The Small Hotel and went up to the second floor, they noticed that the doors to Room 207 and Room 208 were still left ajar.
The trio exchanged glances.
They went back to their respective rooms, though none of them slept. The Old Man smoked a Cigarette in the back room behind the counter.
The fat otaku was in his room, smoking a Cigarette while gorging on snacks, occasionally taking refreshing gulps of soda.
Meanwhile, the Little Girl sat in her room, using a towel to wipe down her Pistol.
It was 5:00 AM.
The sky outside was already showing the first pale glimmers of dawn. Inside The Small Hotel, a room was gently pushed open, and a dark silhouette slipped out.
The dark silhouette stood in the hallway.
Looking at the half-open doors of Room 207 and Room 208, the figure chose Room 208 and quietly crept toward it.
In Room 207, the female officer heard the faint sound of footsteps on the floorboards outside, and a cold sneer gradually curled the corners of her lips.
'Who is it?'
'The Old Man? The fat otaku? The Little Girl?'
...
The half-open door to Room 208 was pushed wide open. The beam of a flashlight illuminated the person standing by the window.
"You lied."
The person at the door didn't give her a single chance to argue, immediately uttering the trigger phrase.
However, the sound of the Bullet jamming echoed exceptionally loud in the quiet hotel.
"Sigh, I knew it. Out of the three, you were the most likely to fall for it," Lin Jiabei sighed softly.
With that said, she raised her hand and pointed her Gun. Watching the horror on the silhouette's face, she pressed forward step by step.
The silhouette backed away.
She kept closing in.
Until the dark figure reached the door to Room 207.
"Where are you looking?"
The female officer's voice made the figure turn their head to look into Room 207.
"You lied."
Bang! It was unclear whether it was the female officer in Room 207 or Lin Jiabei in Room 208 who uttered the trigger phrase, but one of them pulled the trigger, condemning the figure to a death by Judgment.
Lin Jiabei returned to her room. The two of them continued standing by their windows, quietly waiting for the next victim to make a grand entrance...
Hearing the gunshot.
Upstairs and downstairs, people immediately rushed out into the hallway.
When the two of them saw... the corpse at the door of Room 207, the hallway lights illuminated the absolute shock and confusion on the faces of the Old Man and the fat otaku.
The Little Girl was dead!!!
The Old Man and the fat otaku were already dizzy with confusion from the three different versions of the story.
But seeing the Little Girl dead at the door of Room 207, their expressions twisted into Masks of Agony.
They screamed frantically in their minds.
'Can someone please tell me? Why did she die at the door of Room 207?! Aaaahhhh!'
'Shouldn't it be the door to Room 208?!'
