Chapter 159: My Turn

~7 min read 1,253 words

Ji Jiangci quickly found a homestyle restaurant, but in the First Ring, even homestyle dishes are very expensive.

"Wife, restaurants in the First Ring are all pricey; shall we go to the Outer Ring to eat?"

Ye Xi'an swept her hand grandly and said, "Order whatever you like, no need to save; we're practically newly rich now. If we earn money only to be reluctant to spend it, what's the point of earning?"

Of course, that's assuming we have savings, ha!

Just as Ye Xi'an used to be extremely stingy, but after acquiring a few hundred million, she instantly became a completely different person.

She now feels like she could take off; if it weren't for a strong desire to return home, she could even go buy a flying craft.

Ji Jiangci smiled and nodded, but a wave of melancholy rose in his heart.

Zhu Shen Xing's beastmen typically live about a thousand years; their childhood and old age are both brief, and of the nearly thousand-year span, nine hundred years are prime. Once their hair begins to turn white, it signals that the beastman has entered the old age phase and won't live much longer.

And he is now presumably in his old age, unlikely to live beyond a hundred years at most.

Thinking that way, Ji Jiangci couldn't help but have his eyes redden. He had only just fallen for Ye Xi'an, and their wonderful life had just begun. Why does fate enjoy teasing him so? Why is it him, when among these males, he is the most proactive about life?

After Ji Jiangci finished making the reservation, Yi Yang also happened to have his clothes sorted and stepped out of the bathroom a little awkwardly.

He lowered his head, his handsome profile tinged with a hint of shyness, thinking that next time he must be more composed and not casually transform into a beast form outside.

Ye Xi'an called over the few males and walked toward the restaurant Ji Jiangci had chosen.

The restaurant was small, but the lighting was warm, dispelling some chill.

They found a window-side seat and sat down.

"What dishes are recommended here?"

Ye Xi'an looked at Ji Jiangci, wanting to talk more with him, fearing he might be unhappy inside.

Ji Jiangci ordered a few dishes that sounded homely: "Let's try these first and see if they suit our taste."

When the dishes arrived, Bao Jing first picked up a chopstick of food for Ye Xi'an: "An'an, you eat first; this looks delicious."

But Ye Xi'an's expression turned oddly pale as she stared at the red mushrooms in the bowl; she seriously doubted whether this thing was edible.

"Jiangci, what's this dish called?"

"Apocalypse Dream."

"Huh?" Ye Xi'an flipped the red mushroom with her chopsticks, "Apocalypse Dream? That's obviously a poisonous mushroom. Jiangci, check if anyone has died from eating at this restaurant."

Mentioning death, everyone's expression grew serious.

Ji Jiangci: "Is there something wrong with this dish?"

Lin Zhi Jing immediately activated his Light Brain and scanned the dish, but no abnormalities were displayed.

"This dish is a huge problem!" Ye Xi'an exclaimed exaggeratedly. "It's called a mushroom; I once saw someone eat this, clutch a pillar and shout for their mother, and even die on the spot."

"Ha~" Yi Yang, trembling, gnawed his finger, looking horrified at Ye Xi'an: "So scary? If the restaurant still sells this, could it be a shady place?"

"Don't worry, it's fine. It's just a real fungus with mild paralytic and hallucinogenic effects; it can stimulate appetite, only mildly toxic."

Lin Zhi Jing showed everyone the information on his Light Brain: "If you're worried, we can skip this one."

"Then we won't eat that," Ye Xi'an pushed the mushroom aside: "Let's just have something else."

After the meal, the group finally returned to the home they hadn't seen in ages.

Everyone skillfully began attending to Ye Xi'an—bathing her, drying her hair, and dressing her in comfortable pajamas.

Only Ji Jiangci was hesitant to get close; helping Ye Xi'an bathe risked splashing water on her, and he feared startling her, so he cowered behind Bao Jing and the others, picking up clothes from the floor and handing them towels.

After the bath, Ye Xi'an reclined half on Bao Jing's solid chest muscles, watching the three wet males before her.

Their shirts, drenched and clinging to their skin, revealed an alluring buttery hue underneath; they focused on massaging themselves, drying their hair, and kneading the slightly tense calf muscles, and she couldn't help but let out a lewd smile.

Lin Zhi Jing crouched on the floor, noticing Ye Xi'an's smile: "What are you laughing at?"

Realizing she'd been spotted, Ye Xi'an quickly stopped: "I'm not laughing at anything, I just think you all look really handsome."

They're handsome to an almost unreal degree, like something from a 2D world, as if grown exactly to match her aesthetic.

Lin Zhi Jing smiled and, slyly, asked, "Is it me who's handsome or Qiu Yi who's handsome?"

"You two aren't the same gender, what's there to compare?"

"Just compare casually."

Although he said it was casual, Lin Zhi Jing's hand moved involuntarily faster, still somewhat eager for Ye Xi'an's answer.

"Then Qiu Yi is still the more handsome."

One must admit, women still understand women better, knowing which poses and types women prefer.

Every gesture radiates an irresistible charm to girls.

Lin Zhi Jing paused, then resumed, pretending nothing happened: "If she's handsome, she's handsome. Anyway, I'm just comparing casually; it doesn't matter."

Yi Yang, while massaging Ye Xi'an's muscles, felt a slight roughness in his touch: "By the way, wife, we don't have any care products at home. We couldn't afford them when we were poor; should we get some now?"

Ye Xi'an didn't quite know what care products were, but she knew that if they had money they'd buy them: "You can buy whatever; I'll pay for it."

Yi Yang's eyes lit up, recalling the book Ji Jiangci had mentioned before; he tentatively asked, "Then can I buy a copy of that book to read?"

"Buy! Get whatever you want!"

Yi Yang was so thrilled his heart seemed about to explode; his wife's emphatic 'buy' was truly awesome—he loved it!

After speaking, Ye Xi'an turned to the constantly wiping Ji Jiangci beside her: "Jiangci, is there anything you want to buy?"

Ji Jiangci continued his cleaning, still half‑kneeling, bent over wiping the corner of the wall: "I don't have anything I want to buy."

His tone was cold, but in the shadows unseen by Ye Xi'an, Ji Jiangci's pallid lips trembled.

Sensing Ye Xi'an's gaze still on his back, Ji Jiangci placed the rag in the kitchen, said "I'm going to rest," and fled in a disheveled hurry.

Yi Yang watched Ji Jiangci's retreating back with a hungry look: "Wife, will Ji Jiangci really be okay?"

Ye Xi'an couldn't say for sure; who knows if her fluids will work: "I don't know either, but there will be a way."

At night, when a female sleeps, she needs a male to keep her company.

"This time it's my turn, right?" Yi Yang pursed his lips, striving to claim his rights.

Before, it was Brother Bo, Doctor Lin, and my wife sleeping together; this time it's my turn.

Lin Zhi Jing folded his arms, not taking Yi Yang seriously at all: "Just you? If there really is danger, can you protect Ye Xi'an? Don't get all excited and turn into a Labrador again."
