Chapter 210: Mermaid Reef 11
Ye Xi'an cautiously stood at the edge of the canyon, looking down; as soon as her head went out, she felt the cold wind whooshing up from inside the canyon, plus the darkness that seemed bottomless—this depth was more than enough, only the width was a bit narrow; if only the terrain here could change according to her thoughts.
Just as she was thinking that, the sand on both sides of the canyon seemed to be attracted by something, overturning and rolling toward the depths of the canyon.
In an instant, dust rose all around; when everything settled, Ye Xi'an stared in shock at the scene before her—the originally flat land had suddenly become a basin, and she stood right at its center.
"My goodness—"
Although Ye Xi'an, after her ability level rose to nine, knew she was strong, but even being stronger couldn't create a world out of nowhere, right?
She was shocked by her own ability: "I'm amazingly over the top."
Ye Xi'an stopped sighing and began to precisely envelop the space above the canyon with her mental power; gradually, a black hole with a diameter of at least a hundred meters appeared there. The constantly rotating spacetime made onlookers feel dizzy.
"All right!"
As the words fell, a torrential surge like a waterfall gushed from the black hole, a huge silver dragon pouring down; the ears were filled with the rustling echo of the flood, and the originally dry and barren Xiao Shijie was instantly wrapped in the damp scent of seawater.
Even with such a huge volume of water, once it entered the canyon it vanished without a trace; estimating, filling this place with seawater would still take quite a while.
Ye Xi'an thought that the remaining matters didn't need her worry, so she prepared to leave, intending to find the Ocean's Heart while the canyon was being filled.
But as soon as she opened her eyes, she found she was no longer there; they had already returned to the mermaid's nest.
"How did we come back?"
Ji Jiangci explained with lingering fear: "Wife, you hadn't been inside long when the place we chose suddenly produced a vortex; that vortex had tremendous suction, pulling everything around into it, so I brought you away from there fearing danger."
"Honey, was the vortex your doing?"
Ye Xi'an nodded: "There aren't any mermaids around, are there? Don't end up sucking living people in as well."
"I've checked, there aren't any."
"Then it's fine; let's go, we should go look for the Ocean's Heart."
The two dove again into that dim mermaid's nest.
Countless corals swayed before their eyes, varied in form, rich in color, yet also dazzling to the point of confusion.
"With so many corals, which one is it exactly?"
Ye Xi'an rubbed her temples with a slight headache, her gaze lingering on each possible coral.
Ji Jiangci also examined carefully, but likewise had no clue.
"Why don't we ask a mermaid?"
Ji Jiangci proposed, his voice tinged with a hint of uncertainty.
Ye Xi'an's eyes lit up.
"Exactly, why didn't I think of that!"
The two swam through the nest and soon found a solitary male mermaid.
That mermaid had seaweed-like emerald green long hair, its fish tail shimmering with pearl luster; upon seeing them, a hint of wariness flashed in its eyes, mixed with a bit of curiosity, especially the way it looked at Ye Xi'an, full of strong interest.
"Hello, we'd like to ask, where do you all defecate?"
With prior experience, Ye Xi'an didn't ask about the Ocean's Heart again but went straight to asking about feces, trying to make her voice sound friendly and harmless.
The mermaid's curious expression instantly froze; its interest in Ye Xi'an vanished, replaced by obvious disgust and contempt.
"Disgusting! Pervert!"
Having said that, the mermaid swiftly swam away, leaving Ye Xi'an and Ji Jiangci staring at each other.
"Honey, what did he say?"
Ye Xi'an pursed her lips: "He said you're a pervert."
Ye Xi'an felt a bit regretful; she should have just told that mermaid that the Mermaid King sent them to look for feces.
Ji Jiangci awkwardly rubbed his nose: "So what now? Why not just go ask the Mermaid King directly."
"Shh!"
Ye Xi'an suddenly grabbed Ji Jiangci's arm and leapt into a clump of two-meter-tall red coral, whispering: "Look at that mermaid."
Ji Jiangci looked in the direction Ye Xi'an pointed and saw a bluish-gray mermaid clutching its stomach in pain, swimming quickly toward them.
"Is there something wrong with this mermaid?"
After Ji Jiangci finished speaking and lowered his head, Ye Xi'an happened to raise hers, and their lips happened to meet; Ji Jiangci's eyes widened as a visible red flush spread across his face.
Ye Xi'an quickly turned her head, not because she was particularly shy—they'd been skin-to-skin countless times; a kiss meant little to her now—she just worried that if the mermaid saw them kissing in the coral, it would be frightened and flee.
Ye Xi'an kept her eyes on the mermaid, not noticing Ji Jiangci's face reddening to the point of dripping blood: "This mermaid is clearly here to relieve itself; we just need to peek at it, and then we'll know which coral is the Ocean's Heart, right!"
After Ye Xi'an spoke and saw that Ji Jiangci wasn't responding, she lifted her head for a glance; but since she had turned her head earlier, Ji Jiangci hadn't moved at all, and now, as she lifted her head, he planted a firm kiss on her.
When she tried to pull away, Ji Jiangci wrapped his arms around her waist, and they tangled together; Ye Xi'an's petite frame almost sank into his body, and the mermaid's tears in their mouths collided, producing a clear, pleasant ding-dong sound.
Taking the chance while they changed sides, Ye Xi'an glanced at the mermaid.
Seeing the mermaid about to approach, Ye Xi'an hurriedly patted Ji Jiangci's back; feeling her urgency, he stopped his movements and gazed at her with some emotion.
"Honey, I'm just a little shy of fully regaining my youth; when can you help me again?"
Ye Xi'an shoved him away disgustedly; she had originally chosen him hoping he'd be steadier, but he turned out to be just another lecher.
"Don't think about those crooked ways when we're supposed to be doing serious work!"
Ji Jiangci let out a light chuckle from his throat: "Okay."
The two lowered their profiles, while the mermaid stood right in front of the coral where they were hiding.
The mermaid gripped two branches of the coral with both hands, its whole body hovering in midair; a patch of unusually patterned scales just below its abdomen was about to flip up.
Ye Xi'an's eyes widened, her expression somewhat horrified: "Is this mermaid about to relieve itself right here!"
Just as the scales flipped and something was about to emerge, Ye Xi'an suddenly had her eyes covered by someone.
Immediately afterward, a strained creaking sound came from before her; Ye Xi'an's face darkened, and though she couldn't see, she could guess what the other was doing.
"If this mermaid is defecating in front of this coral, then the coral they're hiding in would be......"
Thinking that, Ye Xi'an felt a bit nauseous; fortunately the mermaid wasn't constipated, and it settled the matter of a lifetime in just a few minutes.
Ji Jiangci only then let go, quickly taking Ye Xi'an out of the coral.
He saw that Ye Xi'an's expression was off, so he spoke first: "This red coral must be the Heart of the Ocean; wife, your eye is truly sharp—you chose it in an instant."
Ye Xi'an: Hehe.
