Chapter 91: Cyphrola 07
Lin Zhi Jing heard Qiu Yi's words, and his gaze instantly became inquisitive, looking at Ye Xi'an's slightly panicked profile, and couldn't help but wonder whether Ye Xi'an really had taken a liking to that skinny, firewood‑like beast‑person.
Fortunately, Ye Xi'an immediately denied Qiu Yi's remark, and Lin Zhi Jing's complexion finally improved.
He said, "Ye Xi'an doesn't even like him, how could she possibly like that Pine White?"
"No, no, how could I like him? He's your husband," Ye Xi'an's eyes widened; a married woman doesn't go for that.
Qiu Yi raised an eyebrow, teasing, "What's wrong with my husband? Zhu Shen Xing has plenty of females who like other people's males."
She glanced at the three people far away still struggling to trap the vines, and at Obsidian One‑Eye protecting her, then waved at Ye Xi'an, signaling her to come over.
Ye Xi'an didn't know what mysterious thing she was about to say, so she bent down inexplicably, pressing her ear to Qiu Yi's mouth, waiting for her to speak.
"Let me tell you, I've slept with several married males before; I have to admit, they're indeed more fun than my own," Qiu Yi finished, then gave a coy laugh by Ye Xi'an's ear, the high‑pitched tone making Ye Xi'an's ear tingle.
Hearing Qiu Yi clearly, Ye Xi'an's eyes widened instantly, the once clear, lively pupils now filled with shock.
Her lips part slightly into a tiny "O," and, startled, she sat up straight, staring at the unbothered Qiu Yi, who was hugging her chest and laughing while leaning against a stone.
If Ye Xi'an hadn't known her ears were fine, she would have thought Qiu Yi's claim that she slept with someone else's male was a hallucination.
Her ears flushed slightly, as if the taboo topic had stimulated them: "You!"
Ye Xi'an wanted to say something to Qiu Yi, but when she suddenly saw Obsidian looking puzzled, she lowered her voice, her expression exaggerated: "No, what you're doing is cheating!"
"I'm not cheating; those males begged me to sleep with them."
Qiu Yi stylishly flicked her curly hair, and if those males hadn't been so wildly forward, throwing themselves at her and begging her to get on, she wouldn't have wanted to touch them.
Ye Xi'an gaped in shock, teeth bared, her pupils filled with incomprehension of Qiu Yi's behavior.
She knew that on Zhu Shen Xing females are dominant and males subordinate, females can have multiple males, but why must they cheat with a married man?
Yet she still tried to understand.
After all, this is Zhu Shen Xing, not Diqiu; monogamy isn't the norm here.
Perhaps on this planet, in a female's eyes, males are like clothes—replace them when worn out, lend them to others without issue.
Ye Xi'an closed her eyes, trying to hypnotize herself, to reshape her shattered worldview.
Seeing Ye Xi'an's pained expression, Qiu Yi continued, "Anyway, stop overthinking it; Pine White's death has nothing to do with you."
"Males, there's no need to waste too much affection and time on them."
Ye Xi'an froze, opened her closed eyes, staring blankly at the seemingly indifferent Qiu Yi—did Qiu Yi notice her self‑blame?
While speaking, Qiu Yi pulled a smile onto her cold face: "But you're different; I quite like you. Want to be friends?"
Though she couldn't fully endorse Qiu Yi's behavior, Ye Xi'an didn't want to reject the overture—after all, who wouldn't love such a powerful, wealthy sister?
"May I?"
Ye Xi'an's eyes sparkled, her voice full of disbelief; her sweet tone lifted Qiu Yi's mood.
"Of course."
The two instantly added each other as communicator friends; seeing Ye Xi'an still using a companion communicator, they asked, "Don't you have a Light Brain?"
Ye Xi'an's alarm rang immediately, thinking Qiu Yi might be another Lin Zhi Jing! She didn't want to take the blame for the Original Owner again.
She replied vaguely, "I'll get it when I go back; I just got married and haven't had time to buy one yet."
"Then your family's males are really inefficient."
After speaking, Qiu Yi glared at Bao Jing and the others, and even gave Lin Zhi Jing a contemptuous look.
Yi Yang was startled by Qiu Yi's gaze, shrank behind Ji Jiangci, and, relieved, whispered into Ji Jiangci's ear, "Brother Ji, it seems our wife was already quite gentle before, but now she's even gentler—unlike this female, who actually sent her husband straight to a mutant plant's mouth."
Even the old, unmutated Ye Xi'an, when angry, would only whip them and waste the money they'd earned; she'd never been as terrifying as Qiu Yi, who directly threatened their lives.
Ji Jiangci sighed; Yi Yang's spinelessness was unbearable. The old Ye Xi'an hadn't wanted to throw them to the mutant creatures, only because she hadn't had the chance—had she accepted a mission, they'd likely have been killed by the mutant plant.
"Did you buy the book your wife asked you to get?"
Mentioning that, Yi Yang felt disappointed; he never found a chance to tell his wife, shaking his head dejectedly.
"Then you should quickly find time and beg your wife to buy you a copy."
Over there, Qiu Yi and Ye Xi'an smoothly became friends, their spirits considerably lifted: "When the reinforcements I summoned arrive, we'll kill these Mutant Vines, rescue Purple Treasure, and I'll take you to my house."
Purple Treasure is the male that was hanging from the vines.
Ye Xi'an's mind flashed, finally recalling her purpose for coming to this planet, but she noticed a contradiction.
From Qiu Yi's attitude toward Pine White, it's clear she doesn't value the males in her own clan; despite her strength, she can't find any impressive males.
Yet if Qiu Yi is so indifferent to her husband, why post such a high bounty on the Mission System to find someone to rescue him?
Ye Xi'an probed, "What if the reinforcements you find still can't defeat the Mutant Vines?"
"What else can we do? Just return to Zhu Shen Xing; we can't have an entire male's family trapped here."
Qiu Yi said it casually, but Ye Xi'an didn't understand, "Then why spend so much money to hire someone to save him?"
Originally bored, picking at her nails, Qiu Yi looked up, "Hm? Did you see the mission I posted?"
Bad! Ye Xi'an thought internally, "This is terrible; I accidentally slipped. If Qiu Yi finds out that this rookie took her rescue mission, she'd be furious and might dump her whole family to the Mutant Vines."
Ye Xi'an covertly glanced at Qiu Yi with her peripheral vision, feeling extremely guilty.
After wrestling with herself for a while, Ye Xi'an still couldn't decide whether to tell Qiu Yi the truth.
Although Qiu Yi has been very friendly to her so far, who knows if it's just a whim; she now carries three lives on her back and can't trust anyone lightly.
