Bring me one too.

Okay.

Qilin entered; Mu Yuanzhi had already washed up.

"Senior Sister, how did you get up? Are you alright?" He hurried to support Mu Yuanzhi.

Mu Yuanzhi: "Nothing, I feel much better today."

Just still a bit dizzy.

"Senior Sister, sit down and let me take your pulse."

Okay.

Qilin focused on taking Mu Yuanzhi's pulse, his expression alternating between shock, doubt, and disbelief, making Mu Yuanzhi worry as well: "What's wrong?"

She had just taken her own pulse yesterday, nothing was wrong—could it be some sudden complication?

But she didn't feel anything else strange, except for being unusually sleepy.

She had just escaped death, her illness wasn't healed yet, so being sleepy was normal; she hadn't noticed—could it be a change in her condition?

"Senior Sister..." Qilin looked at Mu Yuanzhi, wanting to speak but hesitating.

Mu Yuanzhi swallowed: "Qilin, if you have something to say, just say it; Senior Sister, I can accept it."

She had already died once; what else could she not accept?

Qilin gave her a strange look, glanced at his own hand, then lifted his eyes to her face and said: "You're pregnant."

What?!

Qilin, also doubtful, withdrew his hand and gestured for Mu Yuanzhi to take her own pulse.

Her expression shifted from shock to suspicion, with some emotions Qilin couldn't read mixed in.

"Senior Sister..."

"It really seems to be the case."

There's no mistake, and Qilin even confirmed it himself.

She's pregnant!

But she and Gu Rongjin haven't even shared a room yet!

They haven't done anything more intimate than kissing, because they never planned to have a child!

Everything needs to settle down first!

"But I haven't even shared a room with Rongjin..." Mu Yuanzhi blushed, she actually didn't want to say these things in front of Qilin.

In her heart, Qilin is still a child.

"Then he must have snuck up on you!" Qilin stood up: "That's the only explanation, that despicable Gu Rongjin—he's no longer my master!"

He clenched his teeth, fists tight.

"I'm going to settle the score with him!"

"Wait, Qilin!" Mu Yuanzhi grabbed her junior brother's hand.

"No waiting, Senior Sister!"

"Look, my chastity sand is still there!" Mu Yuanzhi suddenly remembered, and, as if confirming, rolled up her sleeve to show Qilin.

Seeing it, Qilin reluctantly calmed down and sat: "Why? Did we both misread the pulse?"

"Food stagnation and pregnancy pulses are similar; let's check again carefully." Mu Yuanzhi said.

They had just been too careless.

Qilin nodded, sat down again to take Mu Yuanzhi's pulse once more: "It really seems like food stagnation... Senior Sister, you've been eating a lot lately, and you nearly drowned—maybe the water lingered inside and messed up your constitution!"

In short, I'm glad Senior Sister isn't pregnant.

In his heart, Senior Sister is still a child; she's only a few months shy of eighteen, twenty would be early for pregnancy, or maybe a few years later, or perhaps never—after all, bearing a child means passing through the gates of hell; he's delivered babies before, and it's truly terrifying!

This false alarm reminded Qilin: "Senior Sister, don't let Gu Rongjin take advantage of you too early!"

"He's your brother-in-law." Mu Yuanzhi laughed, pinching Qilin's cheek: "You treat him like a flood beast."

"For now, who knows what the future holds? We still need to test him." Qilin laughed.

Knock—knock—

A knocking sound suddenly rang out, interrupting their talk.

Could it be Gu Rongjin?

Qilin got up to open the door: "Who is it?"

When he opened the door, he slammed it shut with a bang and spat angrily.

"Who is it?" Mu Yuanzhi frowned.

"A dog person."

Many people get scolded by Qilin; Mu Yuanzhi really couldn't guess who.

"Xiao Yichen!" Qilin snorted.

Knock knock knock!

The annoying knocking sounded again.

"Ah Zhi, open the door, I have something to say to you!" Xiao Yichen's voice came from outside.

"My Senior Sister has nothing to say to you!" Qilin loudly ordered him to leave.

Xiao Yichen outside refused to give up: "I came for my sister; I'm here to apologize to you on her behalf!"

"This damn man really won't go away, Senior Sister!" Qilin snapped: "Should I go chase him off?"

"Just ignore him, let him stand outside." Mu Yuanzhi said.

Inside there was no movement; outside it seemed quiet as well.

Even if they thought Xiao Yichen had left, his voice sounded again: "Don't you want to know what His Majesty thinks?"

Mu Yuanzhi said to the Qilin, "Open the door and let him in."

"Senior Sister, he's obviously deceiving you; he must have received a letter from Pei Shangling and rushed over at full speed—how could there be any thoughts of His Majesty?"

"Ah Zhi, I'm not lying to you; the Crown Prince had long ago sent someone to deliver a letter to the palace."

I don't know if he heard the conversation inside the room, but Xiao Yichen outside explained.

Mu Yuanzhi nodded at the Qilin, and the Qilin reluctantly went to open the door.

As soon as the door opened, Xiao Yichen rushed in, shoved the Qilin aside, and only relaxed when he saw with his own eyes that Mu Yuanzhi was unharmed.

"Ah Zhi, the Fourth Prince said you escaped death, I was extremely worried, and I rushed here at full speed over eight hundred li to see you!" Xiao Yichen appeared dusty and weary, still damp with morning dew.

Mu Yuanzhi curled her lips in a smile: "You're imposing on your sister's blessings."

Her words left Xiao Yichen feeling somewhat embarrassed.

"Sorry, it's all my fault for not disciplining Chu Chu properly." Xiao Yichen lowered his eyes, his face full of self-reproach.

"Yeah, you didn't discipline your sister well; she used to behave like a shrew, but I never bothered to argue with her." Mu Yuanzhi gave Xiao Yichen a cold glance, then said, "Now things are different—I'll settle the matter of your sister myself."

Xiao Yichen glanced at the Qilin, then said to Mu Yuanzhi, "I'd like to talk with you alone."

"Are you alright, Xiao Yichen? My senior sister is a married woman; for you to be alone with her in a room, are you sick in the head?" the Qilin said bluntly.

"Well then, Prime Minister Xiao, why do you keep looking for my wife?" Gu Rongjin appeared at the door at some point, leaning there with a smirk, though the chill in his eyes was obvious.

Gu Rongjin's arrival obviously deflated Xiao Yichen's aura as well; recalling that he had just overheard outside that his Ah Zhi was pregnant, a surge of fury shot straight to his heart.

"Ah Zhi, tell me, are you really carrying Gu Rongjin's child?!" he demanded.

Gu Rongjin was completely stunned.

What is Xiao Yichen saying?!

Pregnant? Little Mu Yuanzhi is pregnant?!

His child? When did this happen? Why does he not even know about it?

Xiao Yichen's mind was full of question marks.
