Chapter 492: Absolute Freak

~6 min read 1,173 words

"Hey, move faster! I'm warning you one last time—anyone who falls behind, if you're a guy, I'll shoot your balls off; if you're a girl, I'll let you have some fun, hahaha…"

On the northern stretch of Xihuan Road, more than ten vehicles crawled slowly southward, but only ordinary family cars were visible—the cargo trucks carrying supplies had already left ahead.

Behind the convoy, over a hundred people stumbled along, as ragged and miserable as prisoners exiled to the frontier in ancient times.

Their hands were bound together and tied to the ankle of the person ahead, with only a foot of slack between their own ankles—each step was a struggle, let alone running; even if they frantically kicked their legs, they still needed coordination from those in front and behind, or else one fall would drag down the whole line…

Under these conditions, escaping was out of the question—even walking was extremely difficult and exhausting, and one misstep could cause someone to collapse.

The last vehicle was a battle-damaged Prado, its trunk open; Lei Zi sat inside like a wedding photographer, leaning against the seat, munching sunflower seeds and watching the prisoners, occasionally threatening them with a laugh, thoroughly enjoying himself.

"Lei Boss, we've had a great haul this time—can we pick a girl to have some fun when we get back?"

The driver spoke to Lei Zi with flattery, his demeanor dripping with sycophancy.

"Absolutely! Hah!"

Lei Zi spat toward the rear, slouching and shaking his leg: "You don't know our boss—he gives whatever he likes, generous as hell. When the time comes, just ask, and you can pick any of those young sluts you want!"

"Haha, I don't want those young sluts—too bony, no fun. I'm picking one of those plump, mature women!"

"Oh?" Lei Zi turned his head with a wicked grin. "Big Head, didn't know you had such a unique taste, hahaha! Fine, I won't compete with you—enjoy yourself, don't get sucked dry!"

"Don't worry, Lei Boss, I've got ways to make the big sisters behave!"

Big Head wore a confident smile.

"Hey kid, come on, share your secret technique..."

Lei Zi was genuinely intrigued now—he stopped watching the prisoners, turned around, leaned against the trunk, and chatted with Big Head about women, occasionally bursting into lewd laughter.

In the front vehicle, Huang Yixiao drove with a heavy heart, his expression blank, lost in thought.

"Shao Boss, I feel…"

Huang Yixiao's subordinate hesitated, his face twisted with inner conflict.

"Spit it out, what is it?"

Interrupted, Huang Yixiao shifted his sitting position.

"I've got a bad feeling—Lei Zi's getting crazier by the day. He's gonna get us all killed."

After much deliberation, the subordinate finally voiced his concern.

Huang Yixiao sighed: "He's utterly loyal to our boss. Others fight to survive—he fights to die. He's saved our boss twice. The boss trusts him completely—who can control a man like that?"

"Lei Zi's loyalty to our camp is unquestionable, but I fear his good intentions will backfire… Huh?"

As he spoke, the subordinate glanced in the rearview mirror, froze, and said: "Shao Boss, there's a car behind us!"

"What?"

Huang Yixiao's heart lurched—he looked in the mirror and saw a vehicle approaching at the road's end, one he recognized instantly.

"It's Tianqi Team! Everyone, prepare for battle!"

"What?!"

Lei Zi was deep in conversation about women when he heard the approaching vehicle—he turned and saw an Explorer speeding toward them from afar, followed by a line of cars far more numerous than their own convoy…

Instantly, the vehicles stopped, and the long line of prisoners halted too. Though the Absolute Justice faction wasn't exactly just, their combat readiness was sharp—they halted immediately upon hearing the alert, used their cars as cover, and were ready to fight in an instant.

Huh, huuuh…

The thirty-odd vehicles led by the Explorer sped past the Tianqi Team's prisoners, their rushing wind whipping at the ragged hems of their clothes and hair, revealing eyes long dulled by despair—now suddenly alight with hope.

"It's the Boss!"

Someone suddenly shouted.

It was like an adrenaline shot to the entire group—the once lifeless, dying centipede of prisoners erupted with sudden energy! "Lord, you've heard my faithful prayers…"

"Thank you, Lord, for your redeeming light guiding my path!"

Several devout followers, seeing the speeding vehicles, burst into tears, muttering prayers nonstop.

"The person in charge, step forward!"

Yang Xin stepped out first from the Explorer, his voice booming as he shouted toward those hiding behind the cars.

He wasn't trying to steal Zhang Su's spotlight—he knew stepping out first was dangerous, and as their former leader, he couldn't shirk that risk.

"Damn it, how the hell does Tianqi Team have so many people? Hao's intel was wrong!"

Behind the vehicle, Huang Yixiao muttered to his scarf-wearing subordinate, his face pale with shock.

He'd seen the Tianqi Team's vehicles approaching and hadn't taken it seriously—according to their intel, Tianqi Team had only about 130 people; they'd captured over a hundred, so even if every remaining member was a fighter, they shouldn't have more than twenty. But what was this? "Shao Boss, something's wrong—that guy wrapped in bullets is Liu Yao!"

The subordinate pointed through the window, his face filled with disbelief.

"Liu Yao from the Little Eagle Gang? Impossible…"

This development nearly choked Huang Yixiao—everyone in Qincheng knew Tianqi Team and the Little Eagle Gang were enemies; even the Survivors' Alliance had failed to mediate. How had they suddenly teamed up?

"It really is the Little Eagle Gang, Shao Boss—I've seen those guys at the Survivors' Alliance. Damn it, Tianqi Team's allied with them, and how the hell did they get so many people? Shit!"

Another man spoke, his expression exaggerated, panic-stricken—over fifty to sixty people were pouring out of the opposing vehicles, nearly triple their numbers, and several carried rifles—automatic rifles!

"Damn, I feel like… with all these people, it's suddenly warmer!"

"You're not wrong—I just felt a warm breeze. Did you feel it too?"

The Absolute Justice faction was utterly baffled by the unfolding events.

Before they could discuss a response, Yang Xin lost patience—he pulled his gun and fired three shots into the air, as if he were staging a dramatic scene.

"Three seconds. The leader steps forward—or else…"

"Or else what?"

Before he finished speaking, a man leapt out from between two vehicles, head tilted.

Zhang Su's pupils tightened—he'd never seen such a sight; one glance had overturned every piece of intel they'd gathered.

The man had thrown open his coat—eight or nine thick, carrot-sized detonation tubes were wrapped around his torso, and in his hand he held a grenade; others might miss the detail, but Zhang Su saw his fingers were already clenched tight around the safety pin—even a headshot wouldn't stop him from pulling it.

He was a walking bomb. "Damn it, this isn't Absolute Justice—it's Absolute Freak!"

Zhao Dezhu stepped back half a step at the sight, his belief that everyone in Absolute Justice was a freak now confirmed.
