Chapter 525: Send It Away Immediately
"Yanluo Wang is truly a reliable leader."
"Yes, having a leader like this is truly reassuring."
"Reborn again, reborn once more…"
The emotion of survival spread through the crowd, instantly filling every corner of the mall; faces lit up with calm, relieved smiles—each escape from death in the apocalypse was worth commemorating for the rest of one's life.
Tap-tap-tap, tap-tap-tap…
As Zhao De shouted, rapid, heavy footsteps echoed along the roadside; figures surged toward the street. The battle-hardened onlookers weren't fools—they knew the fight was over, and Yanluo Wang had added another bold stroke to his legend.
"Congratulations, Yanluo Wang, on defeating the monster!"
"Yanluo Wang never loses—even mutated zombies fall before him!"
"Human role model Yanluo Wang! Yanluo Wang! Yanluo Wang…"
People once said the internet had no memory—but neither did reality. In barely minutes, Chen Hanzhou's Shitan had been forgotten; all saw only the victor's glory—the impossible wrist flick that shattered the black-gas zombie, leaving everyone awestruck.
Others forgot Chen Hanzhou's deeds, but Zhang Su did not. He raised a hand to silence the cheers and pointed to Chen Hanzhou, clearly still struggling to recover from not having consumed the zombie's brain.
"We owe this victory over the mutated zombie to our young Chen, Chen Hanzhou—he risked his life to uncover the weakness in the black mist barrier. Remember him!"
"Truly, heroes emerge among the young!"
"Big Brother Chen is awesome—I'm learning from you!"
"Big Brother Chen's moves just now? Damn, those attacks and counters alone would take me half a year to master."
With Yanluo Wang speaking, and so reasonably, who dared not listen? Respectful gazes turned toward Chen Hanzhou, accompanied by waves of praise and congratulations.
"Damn it, I saw nothing! Brother Su, I knew you'd win—I just wanted to see the fight!"
Lu Yubo sprinted back, panting—the wandering zombies had been dealt with, but he'd missed the entire battle, leaving him agonized.
"Do you know why I sent you away?"
Zhang Su smiled at the gasping Lu Yubo. "You're my number one fan—I was afraid losing would embarrass me."
"Hahaha…"
Laughter and joy erupted around them. Yanluo Wang's joke wasn't funny, but in this moment, everyone needed to laugh—to release their excitement. Some, overcome with emotion, wept openly as they laughed.
"Yanluo Wang, aren't you going to kill that thing?"
Liu Yao pointed to the black-gas zombie pinned under Ju Wuying, writhing like a drowning man—its lower jaw and both arms gone, even more grotesque now, yet utterly powerless, stripped of its earlier menace.
Ju Wuying standing on the black-gas zombie had the vibe of a shrewish woman bullying an octogenarian in the street…
"Mutated zombies are dangerous, but if used right, they're incredibly valuable. Unless absolutely necessary, keep them alive—they're more useful for research."
Zhang Su turned to the mall and called out, "Come on, everyone—help clean up the battlefield!"
What followed was simple: cleanup required no fighters. Their mission was complete, especially for the heroes of Yanluo Corps, who had borne the heaviest burden.
After this battle, the LeGou branch finally saw Yanluo Corps' strength—and truly felt the benefit of being protected by Tianma Yu. Without Yanluo Corps, every single person here today would be dead. Over a hundred ordinary members rushed down from the upper floors; the elderly, weak, and women finally had their chance to help—even trembling, they insisted on collecting the dead from the bloody battlefield. To be alive meant never sitting idle!
"How do you feel?"
Zhang Su stepped out of the crowd and approached Chen Hanzhou.
Chen Hanzhou clutched his chest and abdomen, lips trembling: "Not too bad—just one rib broken."
"Just? One rib broken… You think that's not serious? Why not take medicine? Planning to heal naturally?" Zhang Su pinched his forehead. The battle hadn't been easy—he'd used up fifteen percent of his energy, especially when crushed by the black mist barrier, where his energy had dropped by the second. He'd sensed another use for energy, but had no time to verify it now.
Chen Hanzhou's eyes darted, then he gave an awkward smile. "Fu Bo told me—why waste one if you can save it? Bone healing's slower than skin wounds. I'll tough it out."
His self-healing ability accelerated recovery, but bone injuries still took longer than surface wounds.
"Alright…"
Zhang Su nodded. He wasn't surprised Fu Wei had told Chen Hanzhou this—knowing it couldn't hurt. Even if Fu Wei hadn't spoken, Zhang Su planned to tell Yanluo Corps members gradually.
Clank.
The mutated zombie, nearly wrapped like a mummy, was tossed into the crowd. Those who hadn't gotten close before now murmured in awe—how could such a scrawny little thing control such power?
"Brother Su, old tradition—give this thing a name?"
Wang Xin grinned.
"Yes, yes—Yanluo Wang deserves naming rights."
"Name it! Name it!"
The crowd joined in, egging him on.
Zhang Su didn't refuse. He thought a moment. "Ju Wuying said the black mist around it smelled like liquefied petroleum gas. My nose was clogged, so I didn't smell it—but several others confirmed the same odor. Let's call it Liquefied Gas Zombie."
He didn't care much about naming it—this kind of mutated zombie was unlikely to appear widely.
Liquefied Gas Zombie—the main enemy of this battle—had been stopped by Chen Hanzhou, Zhang Su, and Ju Wuying together, causing no casualties. Everyone accepted the new name without question.
Moments later, the Liquefied Gas Zombie was loaded into a vehicle. Zhang Su decided to send this treasure away immediately.
He pulled Ju Wuying aside. "Don't mention the Liquefied Gas Zombie when you return. If anyone asks why you're going back, make up any excuse—but don't let anyone know about it. Hide it. Understood?"
"Understood."
Ju Wuying didn't even bother asking why. She didn't care about such matters—so long as she could return early, she nodded calmly.
"You too—don't say a single word about the Liquefied Gas Zombie. Got it?"
Zhang Su turned to the five-member group, missing limbs and broken.
Ke Zhiyu, unconscious, couldn't answer. The other four nodded vigorously. All had lost limbs after being bitten by zombies; initially, they'd been bitter. But after seeing the corpses dragged from the battlefield, their will to live had ignited.
Whether by luck or strength, they still had a chance to survive by amputation—those cold bodies were gone forever.
Strange as it seemed, once their will to live ignited, none of them turned. Human willpower was truly miraculous.
Sending them to Tianma Yu wasn't for anything else—just treatment. The effect of the Turnback Liquid was unknown, but it was better than waiting to heal on their own.
"Alright, go. Be careful on the way."
Zhang Su tapped the vehicle door and gave one last warning.
"Brother Su, uh… I wanna go back too. Heh, need to rest up."
Watching Ju Wuying take the driver's seat, Chen Hanzhou limped over, rubbing his chest and abdomen, smiling sheepishly.
