Chapter 532: They

~6 min read 1,186 words

"Hah! LeGou Mall really is a great place—this damn place is heavily guarded, impregnable, a great place, truly a fucking great place!"

Several cars parked at the back entrance of LeGou Mall; a group stepped out, the leader strutting forward with arrogant tones, completely ignoring the guards on duty, walking in as if they were invisible.

"Stop!"

Chen Hanzhou stood at the entrance, arms crossed, coldly eyeing the newcomers, his voice filled with anger: "Who gave you permission to come in?"

"You little brat don't know? Your boss invited us here, damn it—what's your attitude? A fucking lowly gatekeeper dares to be insolent? Apologize to me now!"

The leader glared at Chen Hanzhou with a furious, sneering expression.

"Ah, are you by any chance... friends of Absolute Justice?"

Chen Hanzhou's attitude suddenly reversed by 180 degrees.

?? The newcomers froze. The leader, hearing such polite words, tilted his head even higher, looking down his nose at Chen Hanzhou: "That's right—we're the Justice Envoys of Absolute Justice!"

"Justice Envoys" was the official designation for combat personnel within Absolute Justice.

"My apologies—I had no idea who I was dealing with. Please, this way, please..."

Chen Hanzhou raised his mechanical prosthetic limb, displaying an overly courteous demeanor; Qi Xiaoshuai beside him beamed with a smile, as if welcoming great heroes.

"Now that's more like it—good..."

The leader was satisfied with their reaction.

"Are you the friends from Absolute Justice? My apologies for not greeting you sooner—it was a grave oversight!"

At that moment, Zhang Su's voice rang out from inside the mall, warm and enthusiastic, followed by light footsteps—clearly only a few people approaching.

"I was waiting up front—how come so many of you came all the way from the pedestrian street? Hah!" Zhang Su stepped forward.

The Absolute Justice group didn't lower their guard; some still kept hands on their guns. But when they saw the dim figures ahead—only five people—they all exhaled in relief.

"Hey, you guys are awfully polite—front door, back door, same thing. We got stuck with a horde of zombies on Minzu Road and had to detour through Wenhua Road—no need to circle all the way to the front! From your voice, you must be Zhang Xin, Captain Zhang—no, no, I think you should be the leader instead, hah! Leader Zhang!"

The leader pulled out a cigarette and lit it, eyeing a man among the group who clearly stood out as the leader—but the others around him were pathetic: three women and an old man, all smiling pleasantly. What kind of pathetic crew was this?

Had the Survivor Alliance run out of people? They sent this trash to greet us! Zhang Su had already sensed vehicles approaching from behind LeGou Mall. When he stepped out with his men, he saw barely two dozen people—clearly distinguishable between regular members and combatants. And he noticed something very interesting.

The speaker was trying desperately to act tough and arrogant, but it came off as exaggerated and forced—he was clearly putting on an act.

Why act? Because it wasn't real.

The man's voice was 70–80% like Ding Wei's over the radio—but Zhang Su had already seen his tricks. He wouldn't fall for it again.

Still, Zhang Su wondered: why would Ding Wei openly send someone as a decoy? The only possible reason was that Ding Wei had never shown his face to anyone in the Survivor Alliance—no one knew his true appearance. Regardless, Zhang Su silently sneered. The man's trick was meaningless—either way, they were dead; it was only a matter of how. But where was Ding Wei? He decided to find out.

"Hahahaha, Leader Ding flatters us too much. Come this way, please. Lao Yang, prepare some snacks!"

A casual remark—no suspicion stirred in the visitors.

Lao Yang—was that the old man behind him? The Absolute Justice group was still pondering this when they stepped forward—and in an instant, chaos erupted!

"Hey—"

Bang! Thud! Thump!

"Don't move!" "Stay still!"

"Fuck, Cao... uh!"

"Don't hit me, I'm not a Justice Enforcer..."

Suddenly, twenty to thirty figures burst out from the darkness—each one fierce and alert.

Almost all of Absolute Justice's men were knocked down before they could react. Only one burly man struggled briefly, but ultimately couldn't escape—he was pinned down, gasping, held fast by several men.

Fighting zombies made you cautious—but against humans, especially in an ambush? What a joke! "Ah, you bastards! You're betraying your word! What do you want? We've got nothing! You won't get a thing from us—let us go, or your whole place will be swallowed by the horde!"

The leader was pinned hard to the ground, yet he strained his neck, shouting defiantly, his face flushed red—his voice had changed slightly from before.

"Scum, look up and see who I am! You dare pretend to be Ding Wei? Do you even have his level of filth? Where's that cockroach? Let him come out and die!"

Yang Xinqi stomped on the man's back, his face icy.

In the darkness, Liu Yao winked and grinned, mimicking Yang Xinqi's tone—his carefree attitude left Zhang Su exasperated; this guy's mindset was truly unshakable.

The man obeyed, straining his neck upward—but still couldn't see. He twisted again, rolling his eyes until he finally caught sight of the man's face. His skin twitched: "You—you're Yang, Yang Leader of Tianqi?"

"You've got some manners, calling me 'Yang Leader.' Too bad—it doesn't matter now. Call me Grandpa and it won't save you!"

With that, Yang Xinqi kicked the man square in the head—but he didn't know the man had simply forgotten his name and reflexively used his usual title.

"Boss, this guy isn't Ding Wei at all!"

Yang Xinqi kicked the man on the ground again.

"I knew the moment they walked in—they're all stuff I've already played with." Zhang Su shrugged, scanning the crowd—still watching for Ding Wei hiding among them, waiting to strike. "Hey, hello?"

Zhang Su pulled out the radio he used to contact Ding Wei. As he spoke, a sound came from the man's pocket—the radio had already been handed to a subordinate. Clearly, they had other plans.

"Where's your boss?"

Zhang Su asked.

No one answered...

"Boss, these bastards deserve to die. I beg permission to use their lives to honor our fallen brothers!"

Yang Xinqi's hatred for Absolute Justice was irreconcilable—he pointed at the group on the ground, voice trembling with righteous fury.

"No, no... Big Brothers, we're just hostages! We're not with them!"

"Yes, please, great sirs, spare us! Absolute Justice never treated us as human—we have blood-deep grudges against them!"

"You heartless, dog-like traitors—you ran with them, and now you turn on us? Die!"

"Don't bullshit. You ran with them? What vile things did you do? How many brothers and sisters did you feed to the zombies just to escape? I can't even bear to recall your crimes—I feel guilty just for still being alive!"

"We know about Ding Wei's situation! Spare us—we want to surrender!"

Hearing they were to be sacrificed, the Absolute Justice men erupted in shouts. LeGou Mall erupted in noise—many peered out curiously to watch.
