Chapter 11: A Historic Meeting

~7 min read 1,216 words

From Marvel, Starting as a Genie

One morning, just like the past few days, Johnson got up and sat at the table directly.

The morning sun shone on his face through the window, and Johnson also closed his eyes at the right time, as if feeling this beautiful moment.

However, in reality, Johnson was performing his daily divination in his heart.

Ever since he told the person in charge that the dinosaur fossil had problems, Johnson discovered that there were more things in his room—likely surveillance and listening devices.

This didn't exceed Johnson's expectations. Having mixed in human society for so many years, he had long known that after doing such a thing, he would inevitably be monitored.

However, what the other party miscalculated was that he, Johnson, was no longer an ordinary person.

After becoming a Diviner, besides obtaining divination ability, the appearance of spirituality allowed Johnson's various abilities to be improved, including observation.

And this room was a place he had lived in for a long time. Any subtle changes, he would discover immediately.

"Someone will have a conflict with Kingpin's men this morning."

Johnson muttered in his heart. The pocket watch in his pocket turned into a pendulum in his brain under the effect of spirituality.

Although this divination method was less effective than using the pocket watch directly, it was at least better than nothing.

The pendulum swayed slowly—it was clockwise.

Johnson pulled out a piece of paper, pressed it under himself, wrote something down without changing his expression, and waited silently in place.

On the outskirts of the Midtown district of Hell's Kitchen, Frank was waiting here with the team Nick Fury had lent him.

A few days ago, after Johnson released the news, Frank had obtained relevant information through S. H. I. E. L. D.'s channels. However, the other party's alert level had also risen sharply, so Frank didn't launch an attack directly at that time.

He suddenly started acting now because, in two days, one of the Hand's leaders was coming over.

Frank looked down at his watch. There were three minutes left until the agreed time. Stick and Daredevil should be coming.

Speak of the devil, Stick walked over from the other side with his apprentice and several unknown personnel.

"Right on time."

"Of course, we are never late."

After a simple greeting, the scene fell into silence again. What to do had been discussed yesterday; now they just needed to wait for the scheduled time to arrive.

At eight o'clock sharp, Frank looked up. He didn't issue an order to the headset, which meant the plan was proceeding as scheduled.

Following that, four rockets flew out from four directions, drilling directly into the Midtown district.

The Hand's construction site, the storage area for construction equipment, the storage area for important materials, and the guard area of the room where Johnson was located were all attacked simultaneously.

The entire Midtown district suddenly fell into chaos.

"Action!" Frank waved his hand and led the people behind him to launch an attack toward the room area.

Stick followed closely behind Frank, and they only separated at a corner. Their mission was to destroy the construction equipment stored by the Hand.

Similarly, there were people launching attacks synchronously at the other two locations.

This time there was no feint; it was all main attacks. Achieving any one of the four missions was what Frank and Stick had in mind.

After officially engaging the enemy, Frank wasn't sure how the other places were, but the field agents behind him indeed displayed strength that matched their identities.

In the situation of street fighting, Kingpin's thugs were no match for elite soldiers at all. The outer defense line was continuously pushed forward, and the plan was going beyond imagination.

It wasn't until the Hand's ninjas had to join in that the situation changed.

Stick was right; the ninjas encountered that day were indeed the lowest-end ones. These ones who knew a bit of ninjutsu were more difficult to deal with.

Frank thought in his heart as he watched the stalemate on the front line.

This was natural. If they could only hide in the shadows, the Hand wouldn't have been able to grow so large. Of course, their ninjas were still far from a certain village's ninjas.

"Smoke grenades."

Following Frank's order, several smoke grenades were thrown, directly blocking the observation point of the defense side.

Thick smoke formed a new wall beside the wall, blocking the view of the defense side.

Taking advantage of this time, the field agent fired a grenade at the gate, blowing it open directly, and Frank himself vanished from where he was.

The defensive strength here in the room area was considered poor among the four locations, because the most important people here were just Johnson, one of his students, and some civil engineering experts.

For the Hand, Johnson's role had basically been played out. They had already found the general location of the Dragon Bone fossil. Even without Johnson, it wouldn't be a big problem.

As for the other civil engineering experts, to put it bluntly, they belonged to "consumables."

In this situation, Frank very easily sneaked into the room area. Relying on the satellite map in his brain, he came to the window outside Johnson's room in three or two steps.

Seeing Frank for the first time, Johnson had a sense of inexplicable familiarity. After a quick divination to confirm that he should follow Frank, he opened the window directly.

Frank himself was stunned for a moment. This was too cooperative. Wasn't he afraid he was here to kill?

Before Frank could speak, Johnson climbed out of the window while holding up the paper he had written on.

"There are listening devices here, don't make a sound. There are surveillance devices downstairs; you might have already been discovered!"

"I know." Frank nodded and got Johnson onto his back. "When I came, I used electromagnetic suppression to mess up the electronic equipment in this area."

"That's good."

Johnson didn't pretend anymore. He lay on Frank's back, tapped his head with his right finger, and opened his spirit vision.

Before Frank came, Johnson had studied his ability for a long time, mastered some techniques, and learned from the people in the paper stories to set up suggestion switches for himself.

"My student has been bought off. Just go directly," Johnson looked up and observed the surroundings.

"There are two ninjas in front of you. Change the route."

After walking a few steps, Johnson suddenly said.

Frank paused, choosing to believe Johnson, and safely avoided the ninjas rushing toward the residence.

"Can you see them?" Frank asked.

"No, I just see the white that belongs to health," Johnson replied. Anyway, there were enemies all around, so as long as he saw people, they were basically enemies.

"Oh." Frank didn't quite understand, but now wasn't the time to ask.

Just then, Johnson suddenly said, "Do you know the Genie?"

Immediately, Johnson felt the muscles on Frank's back tighten a bit.

"Then it seems we are on the same side."

Johnson smiled, and he already felt that the content on the second piece of paper had been partially unsealed.

Frank also relaxed. His system sounded a prompt after Johnson confirmed his identity. ===== CHAPTER 12 =====
