Chapter 194: Silent Replacement
While Mephisto was cursing Dormammu and Thanos crazily, the Strange Tale world welcomed the dawn of the second day.
Johnson got up early, breathed in the energy-filled air, folded his quilt, dressed neatly, and then carefully groomed his appearance in front of the mirror, shaving his stubble clean, as if he were going for an interview.
When Frank got up, he discovered that Johnson had already prepared breakfast, including his share.
A fried egg sandwich, a glass of milk, clean and hygienic.
"Johnson, how are you feeling?" Frank sat in his seat and looked at him, asking.
"Pretty good, why ask that?" Johnson asked in return.
"The whispers caused by the Strange Tale in your ear have disappeared?" Frank held a knife and fork, cut the sandwich into two halves, looked carefully at the cut part in the middle, and continued to ask.
"Disappeared, I feel great now," Johnson said with a smile, then put the last piece of the sandwich, which was of average size, into his mouth.
Last night, the whispers had originally caused him no small amount of trouble, but after waking up, the whispers suddenly disappeared. Johnson only felt refreshed, and even the world had become much brighter.
"That's good." Frank put down the knife and fork; he hadn't touched the breakfast in front of him at all.
"Aren't you eating?" Johnson asked.
"Eating in a bit, I discovered I haven't brushed my teeth." Frank said, walking back to his room first.
Ten minutes later, Frank, who had finished washing up slowly, sat on the dining chair again, the sandwich in front of him steaming.
"I just helped you heat it up by the way. Let's go out later and continue looking for the Hell Apartment," Johnson's voice came from his own room.
Frank narrowed his eyes. "Johnson, can you come out for a moment?"
"What's wrong?" Johnson poked his head out.
"When are we going back?" Frank asked.
"No rush. Anyway, the whispers have disappeared. Let's find the Hell Apartment first," Johnson replied.
"Oh, then give me your key first." Frank extended his hand toward Johnson.
"What are you doing?" Johnson blinked, feeling that Frank today was a bit strange, but he still took out the key.
After getting Johnson's key, Frank immediately opened the door belonging to Frank in the air. Almost simultaneously, the other two doors belonging to him and Audasxin also opened one after another.
Before Johnson could continue asking, a shadow darted out from Johnson's blind spot and kicked him into the door.
The moment Johnson's body touched the door, a mass of black energy surged from his body. This black energy condensed into another Johnson in the air, emitting roars, seemingly unwilling to be blocked outside the door like this.
Frank and Audasxin, whom he had called over, did not hesitate and walked directly through their own doors.
As the three disappeared from this world one after another, an invisible force followed silently behind the three of them, but when the doors gradually closed, none of them were able to pass through.
"This road is blocked?"
Following a murmur, the invisible force collapsed and dissipated, and the Strange Tale that had detached from Johnson's body returned to calm, beginning to integrate into this world according to the rules of the Strange Tale.
In the Cabin, Johnson touched his chest and coughed continuously. Audasxin's kick was fast and fierce; he felt that his ribs might have broken two.
And suddenly detaching from the Strange Tale world, Johnson felt deep discomfort, just as if he had suddenly gone from an oxygen-rich environment to an oxygen-thin region.
Fortunately, when the influence of the Strange Tale dissipated, Johnson's reason returned completely, and the frantic alarm in his spirit also received a response. He knew that he had almost turned into another "himself," almost replaced by the Strange Tale.
After Frank left the Strange Tale world, he still felt a lingering fear in his heart. Fortunately, the Johnson of the Strange Tale performed completely differently from himself, and fortunately, Johnson had explained the way to deal with it in advance.
After breathing a sigh of relief, Frank and Audasxin exchanged glances, and the two picked up a rope and a piece of cloth.
"What are you doing? I'm normal, I'm normal!" Johnson looked at Frank walking toward him with full deterrent power and said loudly, but every two sentences, his mouth was completely blocked, and the words in his mouth turned into 'wuwuwu' sounds.
Soon, Johnson was tied into a rice dumpling. Audasxin also applied multiple spells to the rope to ensure that Johnson would not break free by relying on his own abilities.
Johnson could only lie there helplessly, panting. He didn't intend to break free with his abilities either; if he broke free again, he was afraid Frank would directly use physical anesthesia.
"Sorry, I'll apologize to you after seeing the Ancient One." Frank carried Johnson on his shoulder and moved rapidly toward the Himalayas.
Just as they reached the bottom of the Himalayas, the Mage Wong was already waiting for them there.
"The Supreme Sorcerer already knows your intentions, please follow me." Wong waved his right hand and opened a portal behind him.
Frank carried the life-weary Johnson and walked into the portal. Being carried like this all the way, Johnson felt that the second half of his life would be dim and dull; it was definitely a dark history.
Audasxin followed silently behind. Regarding the Supreme Sorcerer who had subdued her in one strike last time, she still had lingering fears.
"Rest assured, his mind has basically returned to normal, and the influence caused by the power of the Dark Dimension has been corrected by himself bit by bit," the Ancient One said after checking Johnson's body.
"Many thanks, Ancient One." Frank finally breathed a sigh of relief after hearing the Ancient One's explanation. Mainly, the Johnson from the morning was too scary.
Who could accept their friend being replaced by another strange thing in an instant? Even if they had the same memories, that wouldn't do.
"Wuwuwu." Johnson used his tongue to push against the cloth stuffed into his mouth and thanked the Ancient One with a vague voice.
The Ancient One waved her hand, the ropes on Johnson's body scattered, and the wound on his chest kicked by Audasxin also returned to normal.
"These few days, you stay here with me first, and observe a bit more. After all, this is the first time I've encountered this kind of situation," the Ancient One continued.
"Thank you for your generosity." Frank agreed directly for Johnson.
Audasxin on the side had been carefully observing the Ancient One the whole time. From the appearance, she couldn't tell that this was a peerless expert... Was the reason for the quick defeat last time because of a sneak attack?
The Ancient One felt the thoughts in Audasxin's heart and smiled at her.
Instantly, Audasxin looked at her nose and heart, throwing the thought just now out of the Himalayas. ===== CHAPTER 195 =====
