Chapter 77: Mission Failed?!

~7 min read 1,258 words

Blood Magic - Blood Tracking.

Facing the strange environment and the danger hidden in the dark, Blade directly exerted the vampire's blood-seeking ability to the maximum.

This magic could discover those living lives whose blood was flowing rapidly, which happened to help him exclude the interference of blood sprayed on the building.

Within the sensing range, Blade discovered multiple rapidly moving individuals. The nearest pair was below him.

Raising his right hand, he punched through two layers of ground, and Blade fell all the way down from the corridor position.

Before landing on the ground, he felt a black shadow kicking towards him. His left hand swept, his right hand sent, and in mid-air, Blade grabbed the kicking leg and smashed the person directly onto the wall behind him.

Immediately following, a military bayonet flew over. Blade shook his head, dodged a blow, and was just about to fight back when his dark vision discovered the attacker.

"Yor?"

Yor heard Blade call her name and stopped the action of continuing to throw, "Who are you?"

"Huanghun asked me to find you," Blade said, turning his head to look at the person who had been thrown on the wall by him. Blonde hair, hadn't seen him, didn't know him.

"One of our own?" Natasha climbed up from the ground, enduring the pain. That was to say she was different from before; otherwise, if Blade had done that to her, there would be one more seriously injured person here who needed to be carried.

"Blade," Blade introduced himself, then looked at Yor again, "What is the situation here now?"

"Those experimental personnel released all the experimental subjects. A monster from the bottom layer is killing wildly." Yor described quickly.

"Monster? What monster? Where?" Blade sensed it again and didn't find a monster that matched Yor's description.

"It's about ten times the size of a person. Its whole body is only meat. It can change its state at will like a fluid. The attack method is eating. The moment it eats you, you die." Yor continued to describe.

"I think what you are talking about wouldn't be that, right." Blade gestured towards the other end of the corridor.

At the end of this corridor, under the partition door, a stream of wriggling red liquid was seeping through the gap, and then re-formed into a weird-shaped thing on this side.

Yor looked back. It was too dark, and she, who didn't have dark vision, couldn't see clearly at all.

Natasha poked her head and glanced, "That's it. Hurry up and leave. Where can we get out?"

"Up. You can see the open exit in about three floors. You guys go out first, I'll cover the rear," Blade estimated the distance between the two sides and said.

"Be careful!" Yor wasn't pretentious either, and followed Natasha to start climbing.

Blade looked at the Woody-Flesh Puppet, hesitated for a moment, switched to werewolf form, and pulled out the silver sword behind him. This thing, at a glance, wasn't any proper life. Maybe the silver sword could have damage bonuses.

As soon as the Flesh Puppet saw Blade, it rushed over immediately. Its huge body surged in the corridor, blocking half of the space.

Blade carried the sword and greeted it. When they were about to collide, he jumped up, flipped over the top of the Flesh Puppet, and the long sword in his hand came from top to bottom, giving it a fierce blow.

*Swish*, a reflection flashed, Blade landed safely, and wiped his hand on the blade.

*Oh ho*, half of the sword was gone, and the fracture looked very smooth.

The Flesh Puppet bumped forward a few steps, stopped, its body wriggled, flipped its front and back, and continued to rush towards Blade.

Blade threw the half-cut sword in his hand casually, and then relied on his flexibility to dodge rapidly.

He didn't intend to try whether his claws when he was a werewolf would be more durable than his silver sword.

One minute later, with Natasha's help, the two escaped from the opened hole out of the base.

Just after coming out, both of them were pointed at the head by a gun from behind. In front of them was the floating Mark armor, and the laser cannon in the armor's hand was ready to fire.

"Who are you?" Frank asked behind them.

"Natasha, agent of the Homeland Strategic Defense, Attack and Logistics Response Bureau," Natasha raised her hands high and said.

"Yor, housewife, former agent," Yor said, blinking her eyes, "Blade is covering the rear for us below. He and my husband should know each other."

Frank was about to continue asking when a group of bats flew out of the hole and turned into Blade, "She didn't lie. That thing is coming out soon."

"What kind of thing?!" Tony asked, aiming his palm at the hole.

*Pop! *

A mass of red colloid followed Blade and drilled out of the hole. Before it had time to reorganize, dazzling holy light bullets and laser rays covered it one after another.

Double strike, infinite firepower, plus face-to-face pulling the trigger, the Flesh Puppet turned into a pool of mud within seconds, losing its activity.

"Are there any more behind?" Frank asked Blade.

"Are there any more?" Blade turned to ask Yor and Natasha.

The two stunned people came back to their senses and shook their heads uncertainly, "There shouldn't be any."

Frank put his gun back into his waist handsomely. Everything was over. He had already heard the sound of the mission.

【Mission failed, penalty - none.】

Look, the mission failed, wait... failed?!

Frank wasn't sure if the prompt tone he heard was wrong. He opened the system and read it again. It was indeed failed.

This mission was a follow-up to the last Facing the Darkness. The summary basically hadn't changed much, which was that thwarting Woody's plan counted as completion.

If the final result was failure, then what on earth was he trying to do?

"People from the military and relevant departments have already come over. Let them take over next," Tony looked at the light points representing friendly forces marked on the map and said.

Then Tony found that Frank's expression wasn't right, "What's wrong? Injured?"

"No, everything is normal," Frank smiled reluctantly and said.

"Oh, that's good. Does anyone need me to bring them? If not, I'm going to find Ethan. I have to figure out what happened," Tony continued to ask.

Blade straightened his clothes, "Yor, you come with me later. Huanghun and Aniya are waiting for you to go back over there."

"Okay, thank you for the trouble," Yor replied very politely.

Tony turned his head and looked at Natasha, "What about you?"

"No need, thank you," Natasha adjusted her breathing and said in her spare time.

"Fine, everyone, have a safe journey." Tony turned and left. He didn't want to run into the military. Those guys were dead set on wanting his armor technology, and always forced Rhodey to ask, which was annoying.

Blade patted Frank on the shoulder, opening his mouth in a low voice, "Sure you're okay?"

"Sure," Frank smiled at Blade and said.

"Okay, call me if there's any situation. I'm going to the East for a while during this period. Aniya and the others plan to settle there, so I'll see them off," Blade said, and took Yor away too.

Frank could only carry a stomach full of questions, open a portal, and return to the Cabin. ===== CHAPTER 78 =====
