Chapter 259: Birth Chart #1: Eternal Day

Birth Leaderboard: Eternal Day

The moment his faith switched back to 【Fraud】, the familiar 【Fraud】 chat channel returned for Cheng Shi.

It was still that liar's convention where no one spoke a single truthful word, with every scammer freely unleashing their wildest imagination.

The only pity was that this channel had no target users—just a bunch of scammers all the way down.

Cheng Shi casually scrolled for a moment and noticed plenty of people still spamming "Hail the Long Wang's return." He couldn't help but laugh, then opened the latest 【Fraud】 Pilgrimage Ladder.

【Pilgrimage Ladder (Existence - Memory) / (Void - Fraud)】

1. Li Li Jingming (Fraud) 211

2. Oh no, this is the real Long Wang (Fraud) 209

3. Still Like a Dream (Memory) 208

4. 2 points short of sweeping gold, silver, and bronze—so annoying (Fraud) 206

5. This Feeling Awaits (Memory) 203

6. The Lü Clan is so brave! (Fraud) 202

43. True Heart, True Intent (Fraud) 179

57. I Never Lie (Fraud) 169

But after seeing the latest rankings, Cheng Shi couldn't laugh anymore.

Huh?

Lü Li Jingming topped the ladder again?

And he did it as a 【Fraud】 believer!

I thought "Hail the Long Wang" was just a meme, but you're actually serious?

「...... 」

Awesome!

Beyond "awesome," Cheng Shi really couldn't think of a second word to describe this guy.

You run so fast down the 【Fraud】 path—aren't you afraid your original patron 【Memory】 will off you?

Or are you also a mole, just waiting for the day you bring that number-one spot back to 【Memory】?

Thinking about it, Cheng Shi thought of himself—after all, on the path of oath-breaking, he'd gone further than Li Li Jingming.

One who walks a hundred steps mocking one who walks eighty—there's nothing to laugh about.

But besides the Long Wang matter, there was another thing worth noting: Zhen Xin's score seemed to have stopped falling and started climbing back up.

This meant that regardless of whether the prophecy's target was that farce, or himself, the prophecy's shelf life had ended either way.

He finally didn't have to live in fear of 【Chosen Ones】 coming down to cause trouble.

But Zhen Xin's score alone wasn't enough to confirm it completely, so Cheng Shi furrowed his brow and opened the Priest channel.

Yet the Priest channel was buzzing with chatter but carried little useful information, so he had a brainwave—switched back to 【Fate】 again, put on a Mage mask, and secretly went to the Mage channel to gather intel.

Sure enough, three minutes of scrolling in the Mage channel yielded more useful information than three years of scrolling in the scammer channel ever could.

The veteran mages were discussing the 【Chosen Ones】 issue.

It seemed all the Chosen Ones who had previously dropped in rank were starting to climb back; many faith's Chosen Ones had even reclaimed the top spot in recent days, once again letting all players witness their strength:

They drop when they want, climb when they want.

The ordinary players trailing behind them didn't seem to be playing the same game at all.

"I've compiled the conclusions from the earlier discussion about the Chosen Ones. As of now, only the Chosen Ones of 【Life】 (all-faith), 【Corruption】, 【Time】, and 【Fate】 haven't returned to their positions.

(Attached table)

Note 1: The 【Chosen Ones】 counted here don't refer to the current first place of each faith on the ladder, but to those who have held the top spot for more than 1/3 of the time since 【Faith Game】 descended. Of course, the current first place can also be called a Chosen One—up to you.

Note 2: The 【Memory】 Chosen One is excluded from these two faiths due to the chaos of oath-breaking to 【Fraud】 and successfully topping the ladder.

Note 3: Data comes from this channel's information. Though records can be checked, they can't be fully trusted—judge for yourselves."

Cheng Shi stared dumbfounded at the data table compiled by the enthusiastic mage, his heart filled with deep emotion.

When had he ever seen something like this in certain channels? This was practically chewing the food up and feeding it straight into his mouth.

Could it be that all those bros who used to selflessly share on major forums before 【Faith Game】 descended chose Mage?

Even more terrifying was that the compiled data and information wasn't limited to this one set—a flood of shares scrolled past, and Cheng Shi had to scroll back through the chat history just to find what he was looking for.

「...... 」

Looking at it this way, the Priest channel was pretty chaotic too—or rather, aside from the Hunter channel, no channel flowed with rolling 【Truth】 every moment like the Mage channel did.

"Let me add some data. 【Birth】's Infertility Cure has been stuck at 10th for a while—seems like they're camping scores. The current top is also a 【Birth】 believer, with a very interesting ID: 'Eternal Day.' Bros who know their history shouldn't be unfamiliar with that name—looks like quite the ambition.

【Prosperity】's Baldy-Using-Pantene is still outside the top 50. This guy doesn't actually meet the 1/3 dominance threshold the previous bro mentioned, but everyone knows 【Prosperity】—the Chosen One seat rotates, it's just that Baldy has sat there the longest.

【Death】's Graveyard Manager was originally climbing—reached around 20th at one point—but dropped again these past two days, currently at 41."

Cheng Shi scrolled through the messages at lightning speed, and when he saw the ID 【Eternal Day】 appear in the chat, he froze for a moment.

That ID plus that ranking—could it be her?

Hu Xuan?

Cheng Shi thoughtfully pulled the Night Curtain Spring Whistle from his space, and recalled the trial he'd experienced with this prospective 【Birth】 Apostle.

Sure enough, this world is about change... the brave are the first to embrace 【Divinity】.

Compared to her, he was far behind.

But things were pretty good now—at least he hadn't heard of any 【Chosen One】 having embarked on the path of coexisting faiths. So in that sense, he was still quietly a tiny bit ahead of the curve.

Praise be to 【Deception】! Praise be to 【Fate】! Praise be to this great 【Void】!

But then again, while ordinary players could gather information and analyze the situations of top players and the game's trends, they still lacked the most useful information that came from the top players' firsthand experiences.

But interestingly, that small group being analyzed by the masses exchanged intel frequently among themselves, yet never shared anything with the people beneath their feet.

Thus, in the collection of crucial intelligence and key history, a vast gap emerged between the topmost group and the chasers below, forming an insurmountable information chasm.

Moreover, this chasm could not be broken; the only way to cross it was to raise one's own score, and then... join them.

Otherwise, they would probably never share or communicate such things with low-scoring players.

Cheng Shi kept flipping through the chat logs, and after reading for quite a while, he could finally confirm that the prophecy, which all the 【Chosen Ones】 had jumped down to seek, had truly ended.

The rain passed and the sky cleared; it seemed that future trials might no longer require facing so many peak players.

Thinking of this, Cheng Shi heaved a heavy sigh of relief.
