Chapter 424: [Prosperity]'s prosperity became evidence of [Decay]'s fall

【Prosperity】's prosperity became evidence of 【Decay】's fall

Cheng Shi still didn't move.

He sat honestly in his seat, not even giving President Gong on stage excessive attention.

At this moment, he appeared like a true mediocre person, doing nothing but looking around and wanting to speak but stopping, as if he wanted to say something but was afraid that speaking would cause controversy.

There were too many people like Cheng Shi. Many people didn't lack their own opinions, but just wanted to hear everyone's views before expressing their own.

But Cheng Shi imitating them wasn't just to avoid attracting others' attention, but to take the opportunity to observe his surroundings carefully.

If President Gong was Zhen Yi or Zhen Xin, then he had reason to suspect that everything in front of him was another 【Illusion of Nothingness】!

This was too terrifying. Cheng Shi had already fallen into this trap once. Recalling the back door he pushed open in the Void Church of Yuanmu Town, how similar it was to the Mediocre Society door he had just pushed open!

It was just that this time, there was one less memory flashback, and one more empty corridor.

But who could guarantee that this wasn't an upgraded trap for luring prey by the master of trickery behind the scenes?

Cheng Shi was scared, truly scared.

But even if he was scared, at this moment, he could only pretend to be nonchalant and remain still.

The players in the venue fell into chaos because of the news President Gong spoke of, but it was generally still controllable.

【Foolishness】's eye-rolling, 【Decay】's cursing, 【Fraud】's mockery, and the dirty words of the irritable brothers wove into a large net that smashed down on President Gong, but this person who revealed the explosive news didn't care at all, but continued to share the inferences of his "friend."

"I know such incredible news is hard for everyone to believe, but there will always be people who believe me, because I also know that there must be many smart people in this venue who have picked up the invitation cards I sent out with my own hands.

I don't want to delve into how you 'picked up' these invitation cards, nor do I want to question the purpose of your sneaking in, but these people might already know that what I said is correct.

Look, mediocre people, smart people can find stories about Them by peeling the cocoon through a few clues, but we, if we lose sharing and mutual aid, will be completely abandoned by the era and lost in the ocean of memory.

I am not alarmist. Having experienced so much, everyone should know that what I said is not bad.

Alright, let's stop the nonsense and get back to the topic, let's talk about the matter of 【Decay】's fall."

President Gong put his hands behind his back and began to pace on the stage, and soon after, he asked a question with a mysterious air.

"I know that friends here might not have had an audience with the gods. Of course, neither have I. Everything about Them, to be precise, I learned through others' telling.

Then I would like to ask everyone, based on the connections and news of all the friends present, can we first confirm a simple thing, which is:

Since a few days ago, the scores of 【Prosperity】 believers seem to have generally risen, right?"

"!!!"

To tell the truth, true mediocre people are busy struggling to survive and might not have extra energy to pay attention to the changes in the leaderboard. Of course, there's nothing to pay attention to below 2000 points.

But President Gong was right; there weren't just mediocre people in the venue at the moment. Many smart people had sneaked in and were now thinking about the meaning of President Gong's words.

Among them, an older player clearly noticed this matter, so he spoke up to confirm:

"That's right, I noticed this too. In my score segment, the rankings of 【Prosperity】 believers on the Ladder of Audience have all risen recently.

You all might doubt how I noticed whether others rose or fell in a segment where 1 point differs by tens or hundreds of thousands of rankings. I can tell you all this.

Not long ago, I was lucky enough to get some benefits in a trial, and relying on this benefit, I gained a wave of big points, leaving several 【Prosperity】 IDs I was familiar with far behind, but recently, they have caught up again.

Not only that, I have... cough cough... I also have a friend who told me that the 【Prosperity】 believers in their mutual aid society have recently received a large number of trial rewards.

Although these rewards aren't all useful, they are indeed more in quantity than before.

I am not a shill invited by President Gong. You all can see my identity; I am a 【Decay】 believer, so I am also very curious, what exactly happened to the 【Prosperity】 believers?

There should be 【Prosperity】 people among the friends present, right? Dare to stand up and clear things up for everyone?"

As soon as this old player's words fell, heated discussions broke out in the venue again. Many 【Decay】 believers stood up to testify, but not a single 【Prosperity】 believer dared to respond.

Clearly, everyone knew that one shouldn't "show off wealth" at this time.

Seeing this scene, Cheng Shi shook his head and smiled bitterly, suddenly feeling that it wasn't easy for the Big Cat to be a parent and raise such a bunch of people.

And hearing this, he basically guessed what this President Gong meant.

It was very obvious that President Gong, who was in the dark, or rather his friend with a wild imagination, had taken the recent strange phenomenon of 【Prosperity】 believers going crazy for points as evidence of 【Decay】's fall.

Indeed, if 【Prosperity】 won a victory in the so-called Divine War, then using the overwhelming advantage of the Ladder of Audience to highlight this great victory might not be impossible.

But the problem is, the one giving these 【Prosperity】 believers points isn't their Benefactor 【Prosperity】, but the Big Cat!

Who could have thought that their recent gains weren't because their Benefactor won the Divine War, but because He croaked...

President Gong and his friend were fooled. Of course, this couldn't be counted as being fooled; at a time when 【The Gods】 were keeping silent about this matter, probably no one could guess the full picture of this matter.

This was like a multiple-choice question with only four options (A, B, C, D) placed in front of President Gong and his friend. Their daring to discard all the answers to choose an E that didn't exist at all was already worthy of being praised as "bold."

But reality is far more absurd than imagination, because the true answer to this question is an F that also doesn't exist and is even more absurd.

The god who gives points to 【Prosperity】 trials and distributes trial rewards has already changed from a true god to a fake, "selfish" messenger who likes to protect friends and "bend the law for personal gain"!

If it weren't for personal experience, who would believe it?

"Tsk, this is really... hard to comment on."

Cheng Shi smacked his lips and thought again that since President Gong guessed the wrong answer because of such things, did that mean the probability of him being Zhen Xin or Zhen Yi decreased?

To be reasonable, perhaps it was because of some filters for his own 【Fraud】 god-chosen, but Cheng Shi always felt that Zhen Xin didn't look like someone who could guess the wrong answer.

So he began to suspect that true historian Zuo Qiu who had disappeared from the beginning again.

And it was at this time that President Gong spoke again.

"Thanks to this old gentleman for the testimony, but the evidence I have mastered is far more than this little bit.

I also heard from that friend that 【Decay】 believers seem to have not... for a period of time.

Had an audience with the god."

"What!?"

"How is that possible!?"

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival! ღ(´･ᴗ･`)
