Chapter 325: End-of-Volume Reflections and a Half-Day Leave Request
End-of-Volume Reflections and a Half-Day Leave Request
End-of-Volume Reflections + Half-Day Leave Request
Volume Three is finished; those who have been saving up can start devouring it now.
I rarely write end-of-volume reflections, but since I want to take a half-day break this time, shall I write a few extra words?
Mainly because everyone's monthly votes were so fierce, far exceeding my expectations, and sales are also rising; I must thank everyone for their support.
It probably also proves that this volume was quite well-liked.
This volume was actually quite nonsensical; if we talk about logic, it probably wasn't very rigorous either, but that doesn't matter. The main point is fun; I write it amusingly, everyone reads it amusingly, every chapter is written with a grin and read with a grin—that's probably the greatest meaning of it all.
For web novels, reading comfortably is more important than anything else.
I also write comfortably and smoothly, updating more explosively than usual, which surprises even myself. In the past, by the time I reached eight or nine hundred thousand words, I'd probably start getting constipated; how could I possibly keep up consecutive ten-thousand-word updates...
Hmm... the first volume probably seemed a bit too dark, deep, and cruel? Brothers who stopped reading after the first volume probably wouldn't have imagined our subsequent development would go in this direction. Heh.
Actually, from the very beginning, the direction of this book was planned to go this way; burying the Fish Persecution plotline and having the Sticky Emperor appear upon debut were all preparations for this. If you're tired of fighting and killing, everyone can read some daily life instead. It's just that the setup at the beginning was a bit too heavy, so the tone probably wasn't very apparent; it only started revealing itself after the Little Demon Girl appeared, reaching its peak in the Imperial Preceptor volume.
However, it's hard to have it all; since the focus is on daily life, romance, and fun, it naturally leads to slower progression of the main plot, and a small number of brothers expressed dissatisfaction. This is indeed a problem; the reason for the explosive updates, besides writing smoothly, is also because this kind of daily life plot is inherently slow-paced. If the updates were also slow, when would the main plot ever progress? So I must grind faster.
Even with the grinding, Shanhe Sacrifice's performance so far is still significantly worse than Chaos Book's; Chaos Book progressed so fast and so satisfyingly, right? But Shanhe Sacrifice currently has a very good reputation, scratching my head... From another angle, one can roughly assume that the number of people who like daily life and romance is probably less than the number of people who like showing off and battle thrills...
But that doesn't matter; I'll write however I want to write. I also prefer the feeling of writing with a grin, and it's very comfortable to have everyone laughing happily in the group chat every day.
Additionally, although this volume didn't advance the plot much, all the events that needed to be buried have been buried, and naturally, they will explode brilliantly later on. Let's take it slow.
By the way, I've been feeling quite lethargic these past two days; the day before yesterday, I probably got a headache from too much air conditioning and it lasted all day, and I haven't fully recovered yet. Just as one volume ends and we start a new one, I need to sort things out; today I'm taking a half-day off to organize the content for later.
For the next few days, the opening of the new volume probably won't see many extra updates either; I'll stick to the normal two updates, and once the plot unfolds, we'll go explosive again.
