Chapter 291

~11 min read 2,035 words

My aunt is a person of great resourcefulness; she actually found my room with ease.

As soon as she entered the room, she kicked off her shoes and let her silk-stockinged feet tread wantonly on the floor.

Not having seen her for a while, my aunt seemed to show some signs of wear. The traces of time seemed to be creeping onto her forehead; under the light, one could almost see a hint of crow's feet at the corners of her eyes.

But my aunt was still youthfully striking. She wore a fiery red silk-cotton space suit that wrapped her up in a plump, rounded shape, with a pair of black tight-fitting pants underneath that outlined her long, slender legs.

"Get me my slippers," she commanded, lifting her pair of delicate little feet and dancing them in the air.

After changing her shoes, my aunt picked up my teacup, took a sip, and immediately spat it out, frowning as she said, "What kind of tea is this? It tastes awful."

Looking down at the tea bag floating in the cup, she realized with a start, "No wonder. Where is this tea leaf? This is tea dust; it's not for humans to drink."

I laughed, "You just took a sip, so you're not human either."

My aunt was startled, then immediately raised her fist to hit me, scolding, "Chen Feng, how dare you talk to your elder like that?"

I dodged her fist and said with a grin, "Aunt, my elder, how have you been?"

My aunt lowered her fist, rubbed her waist, and said, "I'm not well, I'm very unwell."

I was taken aback and asked, "What's wrong?"

Seeing my nervous expression, my aunt burst into a laugh and said, "Don't worry, I won't die." She took the car keys out of her handbag, tossed them to me, and said, "Go to the car and get some tea leaves to drink. Don't drink this tea dust anymore."

"It's fine, it's all tea. It's drinkable," I said, not reaching for the keys.

As for drinking tea, I don't really have much of an opinion on it. I'm generally not used to drinking tea; it's too cumbersome. If I use a big cup to brew a big cup of tea, I lose the charm of tea tasting. If I were to calm my mind and use a small cup to savor it, I truly don't have that kind of state of mind.

In my view, tea is nothing more than something to refresh the mind. There are many things that refresh the mind; it's just that tea has been endowed with a lot of poetic sentiment by the ancients, and thus stands out from the crowd.

"Do you know what tea dust is made of?" Seeing that I didn't take the keys, my aunt threw them at me, landing on my body. "These tea dusts are said to be tea that has been drunk in some teahouses, dried, and ground into powder. Can you drink that?"

I shook my head, unable to believe it, and said, "No way? That's terrible."

"Believe it or not," my aunt rolled her eyes at me and said, "You are a cadre now, and a cadre must have the appearance of a cadre. Have you ever seen a cadre drinking plain boiled water? Cadres all drink tea, good tea. What is tea? It's taste, it's status. Understand?"

I nodded repeatedly. This aunt of mine, sometimes when she gets serious, even if the Heavenly King himself were in front of her, she would dare to say a few words to him.

"I'll go get it, alright?" I picked up the keys and went downstairs.

Returning to the room, my aunt had already pulled a quilt over herself. She poked her head out from the quilt, looked at me with a grin, and said, "It's freezing. It's so warm under the covers."

I smiled bitterly; at this moment, my aunt was as innocent as a little girl.

"Did Wu Qian bring you back?" my aunt asked me, not looking at me, but lowering her head to pick at her nails.

I nodded in admission.

"Did the nanny from your cousin's house come along too? And did she stay with you in Suxi Township for a few days?" My aunt still didn't look up, as if she were talking about something completely unrelated to us.

"Yes," I said, picking up the kettle to boil water for tea. I wanted to learn how to brew tea because I am a leading cadre now and need to have taste.

"Did you live together?" My aunt seemed suddenly interested, looked up at me, and then quickly lowered her head again, as if embarrassed.

"What are you thinking?" I said unhappily, "How could that be?"

"It might be impossible for others, but you..." She stopped mid-sentence and giggled.

"Are you still my aunt?" I complained, "What kind of aunt talks about her nephew like that?"

"Alright, alright, alright. I won't say it anymore. Our family's Chen Feng, what kind of person is he? A leading cadre, of course, he must lead by example." My aunt was still grinning and handed her hand to me, "Help me fix them."

My aunt's hands were like scallion whites, and her nails were painted with fluorescent white nail polish, which sparkled under the light.

I didn't want to fix her nails; my aunt was like a demon, and with such white, smooth, delicate hands, I was afraid I wouldn't be able to resist the temptation. But I couldn't show any of this mindset. Even though my aunt and I grew up wearing open-crotch pants together, she was my aunt after all, a chasm that could not be crossed ethically, lying across my heart like a natural moat.

Seeing that I hadn't moved for a long time, my aunt smiled and said, "You have a guilty conscience, don't you?"

I hurriedly defended myself, "What guilty conscience could I have? I have no conscience."

"Then tell me honestly, what is your relationship with Zhao Yu'er?" My aunt looked at me aggressively.

"Who?" I was confused. The sudden mention of Zhao Yu'er's name really gave me a start.

"Still pretending?" My aunt kicked me dissatisfiedly from under the quilt. "Don't think I can't tell; those eyebrows and eyes, tsk tsk tsk."

My face instantly flushed to the roots of my hair. In front of my eccentric aunt, I was like a clown on stage.

"Let me tell you, Chen Feng, I came here today just to talk to you about this." My aunt suddenly became serious. She poked half her body out from the quilt, leaned against the head of the bed, pulled the quilt over her heaving chest, and kicked my butt restlessly with her legs under the quilt.

"Your Chunshan County is going to select a Deputy County Magistrate now. How many eyes are staring at this position? No matter how capable a person is, if they don't know how to seize the opportunity, isn't it all in vain? A few days ago, Director Chen came to inspect the work and revealed this matter in her words. I understood she was saying it for me to hear. Your girlfriend, Huang Weiwei, hasn't been in touch with you for a while, has she?" my aunt suddenly asked me.

I shook my head.

"Do you know why she hasn't been in touch with you?" My aunt leaned over and stared into my eyes, asking.

I still shook my head.

She sighed heavily and said, "They all say our Chen Feng is gifted, but in this matter, he's still an idiot." She pointed at the boiling kettle and said, "The water is boiling, go brew the tea."

I had no choice but to stand up, brew a cup of tea for each of us, and place one on my aunt's bedside table.

"Sit here," she said, patting an empty spot on the head of the bed, her tone brooking no argument.

"Did Huang Weiwei help transfer Xue Bing to the Cultural Center?"

I still shook my head blankly.

"You fool, why don't you know anything?" My aunt scolded me, frustrated that I wasn't living up to expectations. "You're destined to be a township cadre for the rest of your life."

"What does this have to do with me being a township cadre?" I was very unhappy in my heart.

"Huang Weiwei has the ability to get a village teacher transferred to the city's Cultural Center, so why can't she help her own husband get promoted to a high-level cadre?" My aunt questioned me. "Why doesn't she do it?"

"How would I know?"

"Don't know? I'll tell you! Because she doesn't trust you!"

"What?" I shouted, "What does she have to not trust me about?"

"I'm not sure either, but I'll remind you of one thing. Director Chen told me that you still have Meizhu living in your house, there's a Xue Bing in the Cultural Center, and it seems Secretary Chen's daughter also has some interest in you. It's got me confused too. Tell me, what exactly is going on?" My aunt looked at me suspiciously, her expression appearing weary.

My aunt's words made me feel as if I had fallen into an ice hole in the dead of winter.

These words from Director Chen, on the surface, seemed insignificant, but in reality, they were a warning to me. She or Huang Weiwei must have investigated me thoroughly during this time.

"Aunt, did you come just for this?" I asked, tucking the corner of the quilt for her.

"Isn't this important?" She glared at me, pursed her lips at the car keys on the small table, and said, "There's another thing, which is to give this car to you. I'm planning to buy a new one. As a town mayor, it's inconvenient without a car."

I was overjoyed. To be honest, after driving Guo Wei's car these past few days, the desire to drive that had been hidden in my heart was raging.

When a person is excited, they forget themselves. I hugged my aunt and gave her a heavy kiss on her smooth forehead.

My aunt's face flushed red, and she let me be reckless, also reaching out to wrap her arms around my waist.

Looking at her charming demeanor, my heart stirred, but in the end, I didn't dare to continue. I wanted to let go, but I found that my aunt's hand around my waist had no intention of letting go at all.

So I lowered my head and kissed her on the cheek. My aunt was startled for a moment, then quickly let go and buried her head, not daring to look at me. I was also blushing with shame and wanted to get up, but it felt as if I were being weighed down by a thousand pounds, unable to move at all.

We looked at each other and smiled, each turning our faces away, only to turn back almost at the same time.

Desire swelled in my heart. I am a man! I shouted to myself in my heart.

I reached out and hugged my aunt again, and kissed her lips, which were as delicate as a drop of dew, deeply.

My kiss with my aunt had happened when I was eight years old. At that time, my aunt and I were almost naked, wearing only small underpants.

Childhood days flowed away like water, and now, the aunt in my arms, her soft lips were like a bottomless pool of spring water, tempting me to forge ahead.

My aunt hesitated, entangled, and resisted in my kiss. Her teeth were clenched tightly, and her fragrant nectar overflowed between our lips and teeth.

Under my relentless attack, she finally opened her teeth, and her clove-like tongue met my tongue, half-refusing and half-welcoming.

Before my eyes, it was as if there was a bright spring scene; two colorful butterflies under the sun, greedily sucking the nectar of spring in the sunlight that sprinkled on every leaf.

Just as I was about to go deeper, my aunt pushed me away, smiled charmingly, and said, "Fool!"
