Chapter 49: A Dangerous Game

~8 min read 1,528 words

Huang Qishan's son, Zhao Yu'er, had already learned to walk, holding onto stools or walls to travel quite a distance. Seeing us enter, he grinned and reached out his chubby little hands, wanting us to hold him.

Xue Bing bent down with infinite tenderness and handed me a bag of items.

Huang Qishan came out from the inner room, took the bag from my hand with an exaggerated gesture, and chided Xue Bing, "How could you let Secretary Chen carry things?"

Xue Bing kissed Yu'er and said, "He's not some honored guest; what's wrong with him carrying something?"

Huang Qishan laughed and gave her a light pinch, saying, "As a woman, if you don't know how to cherish your own man, how will that do?"

Xue Bing blushed, not daring to look at me, and changed the subject: "Where is my brother-in-law?"

"Busy at the construction site." Huang Qishan reached out to take Yu'er, patted his bottom, and said, "If you need to pee, can't you tell Mom? Look, you're wet again." She ordered Xue Bing to go to the inner room to get a pair of pants for him to change into.

As Huang Qishan changed her son's pants, she said, "The site is busy. He's currently in charge of digging holes for utility poles across three villages, and he still has to survey the tractor roads for those three villages. He hasn't been back in a week."

"Brother-in-law is truly heartless; he doesn't miss his son, and he doesn't miss my sister either," Xue Bing teased.

"What are you thinking about? We're an old married couple." Huang Qishan sighed and said, "Work is important. Besides, a project of this scale is a deed that brings blessings and accumulates merit. I wouldn't blame him even if he didn't return for a year."

I glanced at Huang Qishan; having given birth, she had become even more radiant. Her waist was slender enough to be encircled by a single hand.

Her buttocks were full and firm, rounded and slightly upturned, and the allure that her pants couldn't contain was subtly revealed, stirring my nerves.

Huang Qishan clearly noticed my gaze. She pursed her lips in a smile, handed her son to Xue Bing, and turned back to say to me, "Secretary Chen, I have a few words for you. Come with me."

She stood up and went into the inner room. I hesitated for a moment, not daring to move. Xue Bing rolled her eyes at me and said, "Go on, my sister has something to tell you."

I had no choice but to follow her into the room. Huang Qishan turned and closed the door, then threw herself into my arms like a swallow, offering her lips to block my mouth. I panicked and tried to push her away, but she whispered in my ear, "Don't move, touch me."

She took my hand and guided it inside her clothes, letting me caress her skin, which was as smooth as grease.

She let out a low moan and whispered, "I'll give myself to you."

Just as I was becoming dazed, Yu'er's crying suddenly came from outside, followed by Xue Bing shouting, "Sister, Yu'er peed."

Huang Qishan hurriedly pushed me away, pulled down her clothes, smoothed her hair, wiped her face, and said apologetically, "I'll wait for you tonight."

Before I could reply, she deliberately said in a loud voice, "My sister is such a beautiful person."

In the outer room, Xue Bing was frantically taking off Yu'er's pants. Seeing us come out, her suspicious gaze lingered on my face for a moment, and she asked, "What were you two doing?"

Huang Qishan smiled nonchalantly and said, "Bing'er, your sister was handling some important business."

"What important business? You were acting all mysterious with the door closed—doing something bad, weren't you?" Xue Bing giggled.

My heart skipped a beat. Had she noticed something? I quietly observed her, seeing her face looking calm and unruffled, without a hint of anything sordid. I felt relieved. Her casual remark had actually made me terrified; only when you care about someone do you care about their every word and action. Could it be that I really cared for her?

"It's already been resolved." Huang Qishan looked completely satisfied. She patted her son's bottom again and scolded, "Little butt, why do you pee so much?"

Xue Bing snatched Yu'er into her arms, feeling sorry for him, and said, "He's just a child, of course he has a lot of poop and pee. Sister, you hit him too hard; Yu'er will cry."

Zhao Yu'er cooperated perfectly by pouting his lips and bursting into tears.

The two women sang in harmony, and after changing his pants again, Huang Qishan shoved Yu'er into my arms and said, "Secretary Chen, help me hold him; Bing'er and I are going to cook."

She deliberately pressed Yu'er tightly against her chest as she handed him to me, and when I reached out to take him, my hand naturally brushed against her chest.

This subtle movement happened in a flash, a tacit understanding known only to the two of us.

Nearly two-year-old Zhao Yu'er giggled in my arms, reaching out his little hands to touch my nose and eyes. I studied this tiny life in my hands; he had come into this world, and today was the first time I had been in such close contact with him. He might be the continuation of my life.

Love welled up in my heart, and I secretly kissed his snow-white face. A faint scent of milk drifted around me.

The laughter of the two women came from the kitchen. Holding Yu'er, I seemed to see Xue Bing's clever smile in a daze, and my heart suddenly jolted. If Xue Bing married me, wouldn't she and Huang Qishan be two women serving one husband?

This was a dangerous game!

After eating, I sent Xue Bing back to school. Huang Qishan held Yu'er and saw us across the small bridge. There was no moon tonight, and a few stars in the sky were as faint as the oil lamps of the farmhouses in Suxi Township. The night wind whistled by, and the leaves squeezed against each other, making a rustling sound. Occasionally, the cry of a night bird added a ghostly atmosphere to the long, dark night.

The stream beside us flowed silently, and frogs croaked, jumping into the water with a splash. Suddenly, there was the sound of fish leaping out of the water, leaving a few dazzling white spots where they landed.

The path along the ridge was narrow. We walked one after the other. After turning around a small hill, Xue Bing stopped in front. In the darkness, I saw her eyes shining. She asked me, "What were you doing in the room with my sister? Why did it take so long to come out?"

I was startled and pretended to be very surprised, saying, "Didn't she tell you?"

"Tell me what? You two must not have been saying anything good." Xue Bing laughed in the darkness, bent down, picked a blade of wild grass, and held it in her mouth.

I chuckled, not knowing how to answer.

"Tell me quickly, or I'll be angry." Xue Bing bit off the grass stem and stared straight at me, making my heart crawl.

"Is it about you and me?" Seeing that I didn't answer, she simply laid it out.

I had no choice but to nod.

"Then what is your opinion?" She turned away shyly, leaving me with her back.

At this moment, action was the best explanation; too many words lead to leaks. I walked over, took her hand, used a little force, and pulled her into my arms.

She struggled in my arms, bumping against my chest like a little deer. I lowered my head and kissed her lips. She let out a soft moan, then calmed down. Her teeth were pried open by my tongue, and her hands wrapped around my waist.

I was an experienced man. Although I wasn't a veteran of a hundred battles, dealing with a young girl like her was effortless.

Xue Bing wanted to push me away, her tongue stopped stirring. In the dark night, her bright eyes looked at me, then closed again, letting me caress her.

Her hands suddenly let go of my waist, and she cupped my face with both hands, kissing my nose and eyes.

Suddenly, I felt a spring scene before my eyes. The dark night wrapped us tightly, and we could only smell each other's tense breathing. She exhaled like a wolf, her body convulsing, as soft as a ball of cotton.

I held her tongue in my mouth, and her tongue became even more awkward and clumsy, like a stiff fish that no longer moved.

My hand didn't go any deeper. She stared at my eyes like a terrified little rabbit, her breathing quickened, and her whole body trembled slightly. I withdrew my hand, gently stroked her white porcelain-like face, and said, "I love you!"

She burst into tears and buried her head in my chest. ===== CHAPTER 50 =====
