Chapter 163: Two Swords Blocking the Road
The carriage moved slowly.
The one driving the carriage was naturally the little girl named Ningshui.
Inside the carriage, Feng Siniang was boredly cracking melon seeds, her eyes darting around.
Yu Liancheng was also sitting in the carriage, holding a book in his hand; it was none other than the "Diancang Sword Array," and beside him lay several other secret manuals, all of which were the non-transferable techniques of the Diancang Sect.
Among the Seven Sons of Diancang, Xie Tianshi was already dead, and the other six had suffered heavy injuries, requiring at least five or six months of recuperation to recover their vitality. There were originally some other Diancang disciples, but they were of no consequence.
Yu Liancheng had only said one thing to them: "If you don't want your sect destroyed, hand over the secret manuals in Diancang," and so these manuals were delivered into the carriage.
Feng Siniang's tight, slender legs swayed back and forth, looking very bored.
She looked at Yu Liancheng, who was reading with a serious expression, a flash of mischievous amusement in her eyes, and lightly kicked his calf with the tip of her shoe.
Yu Liancheng ignored her.
Feng Siniang kicked again.
Still ignored.
Kicked again...
However, with this kick, Yu Liancheng had already caught her smooth ankle like lightning.
"Hey, what are you doing?"
Feng Siniang's tone was fierce, but a faint, imperceptible blush seemed to drift across her face.
Yu Liancheng glanced at her and smiled: "If you keep acting up, I'll take off your green cloth shoes and socks; you can play the Princess sister, and I'll play the Wuji brother."
"What Wuji brother?"
"Do you want to try?"
"No, no." Feng Siniang hurriedly refused: "I'm just curious, your martial arts are already so high, why do you still have your eye on other people's secret manuals?"
Yu Liancheng said: "Martial arts that can become famous in the pugilistic world all have their extraordinary aspects. What I want to do is take the essence and discard the dross, to see if I can integrate these essences into my own martial arts, and thereby advance a step further from an already high position."
Feng Siniang sighed: "With your love and obsession for martial arts, it's no wonder you can achieve such attainments."
"It can't really be called much of a love; it's just because I know that the foundation for me to stand in the pugilistic world is martial arts, so of course I have to be a bit more serious."
Yu Liancheng smiled: "What's more, the feeling of defeating a master every time is truly intoxicating; it is a satisfaction and pleasure that nothing else can replace. And the prerequisite for this kind of thing, of course, is having sufficiently high martial arts."
Feng Siniang shook her head: "The way you put it is so profound, I really don't understand. I wonder if there is anything else that can compare to this feeling."
"Of course there is." Yu Liancheng smiled: "Fine food, beautiful scenery, and good wine can all give people an incomparable enjoyment. Of course, the best is still a beauty, a beauty like Siniang."
"Pah." Feng Siniang spat, her face turning a bit red and hot.
This woman was sometimes very mature, but at other times she was like a young woman who had just discovered love.
She hurriedly changed the subject: "During this time, you have been issuing the 'Heavenly King Old Man Post' everywhere, stirring up the pugilistic world, wanting to force out the masters of the Heaven Sect, but apart from the occasional lackey from the Heaven Sect coming to assassinate you, it doesn't seem to be of any use."
Yu Liancheng smiled: "No, it is very useful, for example, that master thief with the long name today."
Feng Siniang exclaimed in surprise: "He is also a member of the Heaven Sect?"
Yu Liancheng said: "Even if he isn't a member of the Heaven Sect, he has a great connection to the Heaven Sect."
"Oh?"
"This person was the number one thief in the pugilistic world, and he has been retired for twenty or thirty years; he no longer has any desire for fame or wealth. If he took action, there must be a very special reason."
"For example?"
Feng Siniang was actually a very clever woman, but when she was with Yu Liancheng, she didn't like to use her brain much, relying entirely on him.
She liked this feeling of being a little woman; she felt that the indescribable loneliness and emptiness were being filled.
"For example, being threatened by someone, or someone giving him a price he couldn't refuse." Yu Liancheng said: "Whether it is the former or the latter, only the Heaven Sect could pull it off."
"Didn't you say that 'Young Master Tian' has very powerful martial arts? You first snatched the Deer-Carving Saber, and then killed the Heaven Sect masters one after another; is he really unwilling to deal with you personally?" Feng Siniang asked in confusion.
"I originally had this question too, but today I figured it out." Yu Liancheng's mouth seemed to carry a sneer as he said: "This person fancies himself as 'Heaven'; he is arrogant and conceited. 'Heaven' only looks down upon the common people from the clouds; unless absolutely necessary, he would never personally deal with a mortal."
"Then how is he going to deal with you?"
"Thunder and rainstorms are all the will of Heaven. If this rainstorm, Li Qingfeng, doesn't work, then the true thunder may be about to arrive." Yu Liancheng was muttering to himself.
The carriage traveled for another period of time.
Ningshui called out and reined in the horses.
Feng Siniang said: "Ningshui, what's wrong?"
Yu Liancheng, however, was invigorated, his eyes flashing with excitement: "Swords, two swords blocking the road."
"You, what nonsense are you spouting again." Feng Siniang patted Yu Liancheng, moved her legs away, and lifted the curtain: "Ning..."
She was about to ask Ningshui, but she had already seen two swords, two swords that killed.
Two swords that killed were blocking the middle of the road.
An intangible, formless killing intent permeated from the swords, and Feng Siniang only felt her whole body turning cold.
"See, I didn't lie to you." Yu Liancheng smiled, his palm resting on Feng Siniang's back, and a warm current was passed over, finally letting her breathe a sigh of relief.
Yu Liancheng had already jumped off the carriage and looked up toward the middle of the road.
There were no swords, only people.
The killing intent was coming from these two people.
These two people were just like two swords.
—Martial arts masters possessing unique skills, treating human life as if it were grass; they themselves would carry a kind of sharp, oppressive killing intent.
What's more, the two people in front of them were swordsmen who had killed countless people; the human lives stained on their hands were something even Yu Liancheng could not compare to.
They were both very thin and very tall, wearing long robes that were both gorgeous and bright. The red was as red as cherries, and the green was as green as banana leaves.
They were no longer young, their hair and beards were already white, yet their waists were still held straight, and the sharpness emitted from their eyes was far more astonishing than the edge of a sword.
"These two look like they aren't to be trifled with; you must be careful."
Just as Yu Liancheng was about to speak, Feng Siniang couldn't help but tug on Yu Liancheng's sleeve and whisper.
Yu Liancheng nodded: "I know, I will certainly be careful and cautious."
Feng Siniang added: "Also, you... should be a bit more polite; perhaps they have no connection to the Heaven Sect."
"Fine, I will certainly be polite to them; I have always been very respectful toward the elderly."
Yu Liancheng nodded again, then took a step forward, stood with his hands behind his back, and smiled: "A good dog does not block the road. You two old dogs have lived for so many years, do you still not understand this principle?"
Feng Siniang could not catch her breath and nearly fainted on the ground.
A gust of wind blew past, and the killing intent between heaven and earth grew thicker and heavier.
And the killing intent and Sword Intent were all emanating from these two old men.
Feng Siniang already felt the killing intent chilling her to the bone.
She truly could not imagine that there were still such terrifying old men in the world.
Suddenly, the hand of that green-robed old man flickered, and a bolt of lightning flew out.
