Chapter 450: White-Clad Guanyin, Liuzhu Bodhisattva
There is a watchtower on the city wall of Xiangfan City.
The plaque on the watchtower is inscribed with the four characters "Solitary Fishing in the Central Plains."
The greatest defensive general of that era held this post for a full ten years.
The drawbridge spanning the moat at the city gate has never been raised, remaining laid flat. Following the instructions of the Celestial Master of Longhu Mountain, it was set up to allow the vengeful spirits to leave Fengdu without closing the gate after the Universal Great Offering.
Legend has it that before the noble person in yellow and purple from Longhu Mountain left, he drew a Daoist Heavenly Talisman inside the top floor of Diaoyutai, hung it up, and wrote, "The Heavenly Fiends have all returned to the heavens, the Earthly Fiends should also return to the earth," saying that when the ghosts of Xiangfan were all dispersed, this talisman would burn with a brilliant light.
It is a pity that many years have passed since the Heavenly Talisman was completed, and it has never vanished; this has become an inescapable haze for the hundreds of thousands of people in Xiangfan City.
At this moment, on the top floor of Diaoyutai, there is a tall, slender Daoist wearing a simple Daoist robe. He wears hemp shoes, a wooden hairpin in his Daoist bun, and holds a horsetail whisk, yet a sharp Sword Intent faintly emanates from his entire body.
Suddenly, this Little Celestial Master—who shares the same surname as the True Person Qi Xuanzheng, once exchanged a move with Murong Tonghuang on Longhu Mountain, and was even recruited by him—opens his eyes and looks at the Daoist Heavenly Talisman.
That Heavenly Talisman actually shows signs of burning.
Qi Xianxia, who uses his horsetail whisk as a sword, raises an eyebrow and ponders to himself: "Could it be the methods of Liuzhu Bodhisattva of Lantuo Mountain? They have only just arrived here, yet they can already ferry all the dead souls? Is their cultivation truly this profound?"
After being easily defeated by Yu Liancheng, Qi Xianxia voluntarily descended the mountain to seek the sword in the mundane world and to use the Martial Dao to enter the world and save it, though there were two things he had to accomplish.
The first thing was to enter Xiangfan and see if the Heavenly Talisman would burn.
The other thing was to go to Wudang and take a look at the other Daoist holy land.
Not long after Qi Xianxia entered Xiangfan City, Liuzhu Bodhisattva of Lantuo Mountain paid a visit, wishing to invite the ten thousand ghosts out of the city to ferry all living beings.
Although it was not explicitly stated, it became a contest between Longhu Mountain and Lantuo Mountain.
If Lantuo Mountain could do what Longhu Mountain had failed to do for so many years the moment they arrived, wouldn't that be a total loss of face?
Just then, a white shadow flickered past the window.
Qi Xianxia walked to the window and saw a strange woman.
Her head was shaved clean of all worldly troubles, yet her face was breathtakingly beautiful.
Those beautiful eyes were bright, yet they held the flavor of having seen all the vicissitudes of life and the changes of the human world.
A moon-white monk's robe fluttered in the wind, ethereal as an immortal; on her wrist, a white snake seemed to act as a rope, biting a white pot. Her bare feet were crystal clear and jade-like, yet they did not touch a speck of dust.
It was none other than Liuzhu Bodhisattva of Lantuo Mountain.
In the world, the Daoist Canon has two holy lands: Longhu Mountain and Wudang Mountain.
The Buddhist faith also has Lantuo Mountain and Liangchan Temple reflecting each other, one in the east and one in the west.
The cultivation at Lantuo Mountain is extremely arduous, and the recruitment of disciples is extremely strict; a temple of only about three hundred people is able to stand on equal footing with Liangchan Temple, which is clearly extraordinary.
And this Liuzhu Bodhisattva before him is the only female Esoteric Supreme Master on Lantuo Mountain, with boundless Buddhist dharma and moving beauty, hailed as the "Human Guanyin," waiting only for dual cultivation to attain the Dao.
Seeing this white-clad Guanyin with skin whiter than snow appearing somewhat lost and puzzled, Qi Xianxia faintly guessed that it was not her handiwork.
But besides this white-clad Guanyin, who else could have such capability?
Just then, bursts of Sanskrit sounds came, seemingly possessing the power to cleanse the soul.
Qi Xianxia's heart stirred, his figure swayed slightly, and he appeared at the highest point of the watchtower, his gaze looking into the city, his eyes shimmering with flowing light, piercing through layers of void.
He faintly saw golden light rushing into the sky in the direction of Shouyang Lake, with Heavenly Flowers Falling in Disorder.
"Is it him?" Suddenly, Qi Xianxia's figure shook as he saw a figure in the center of the golden light.
That person was dressed in black, his clothes fluttering, his figure tall and slender, as handsome as a demon.
The usual playfulness and gentle warmth had disappeared, replaced by solemnity, majesty, and holiness.
The yin energy in the city grew thicker, like heavy snow covering the sky and earth, yet that person alone was like a Buddha, ferrying all living beings.
In mid-air, the figures of vengeful spirits gradually revealed themselves, carrying deep-seated hatred. Each ghost seemed filled with endless curses and resentment, unable to be easily erased.
As the young man in black flipped his hands, grand Sanskrit sounds surged, shaking the spirit even more.
It was as if a great Buddha of brilliant golden light had descended, chanting Sanskrit and illuminating the world with golden Buddhist light. Under the cleansing of the Buddhist light, the ghosts, originally full of resentment and hideous, gradually calmed down, revealing their true faces.
Some were still gnashing their teeth, harboring hatred, but not as intense as before. Some looked around blankly, still lingering in fear as if waking from a nightmare. Some even revealed a sense of serenity, their figures becoming increasingly transparent, as if they were about to drift away at any moment.
The burning of the Heavenly Talisman intensified.
"Good technique."
Qi Xianxia praised.
And the white-clad Guanyin's beautiful eyes were shining brightly.
Even if they could drive the hundred ghosts to leave Xiangfan City, they were still a hundred and eight thousand miles away from being able to ferry them all.
Sanskrit sounds surged, golden light shone brilliantly, like a golden sun casting down, piercing through heaven and earth, as if it were salvation from another world.
Suddenly, a ray of golden light fell onto the city wall. Liuzhu Bodhisattva reached her slender jade hand into the golden light, only to feel it as warm as the morning sun, full of uprightness. Any evil thoughts in her heart melted away before the golden light.
More and more ghosts appeared, showing joyful and smiling expressions, bowing or saluting to Yu Liancheng, and then disappearing one by one into the golden light to be reincarnated.
This scene lasted for quite a while, until the first ray of dawn in the east shone brightly, and the ghosts of the city were finally ferried.
Yu Liancheng exhaled gently; even for him, using Buddhist supernatural powers for such a long time left him feeling exhausted.
Qi Xianxia looked back; the Heavenly Talisman had completely burned away.
He bowed to Yu Liancheng from afar.
Longhu Mountain had lost, and Lantuo Mountain had also lost.
He could not help but feel respect for this great enemy of Longhu Mountain.
Not only because of his great supernatural powers and great methods, but also because he possessed great compassion.
Liuzhu Bodhisattva tapped her jade feet lightly on the city wall and immediately drifted away. A moment later, she landed in front of Yu Liancheng like a white-clad Guanyin, her red lips parting slightly.
"I am Guanyin, Liuzhu Bodhisattva. You have great freedom and compassion; you are worthy of dual cultivation with me."
Yu Liancheng examined this beautiful face that seemed to be shrouded behind a thousand layers of snow-capped mountains and soon guessed her identity.
It is said that this Master Liuzhu is a forty-year-old woman, yet her appearance is no different from a twenty-year-old woman, and a natural red mole between her brows adds a touch of charm.
"No, it is you who are worthy of dual cultivation with me."
Yu Liancheng noticed that the legs of this female Dharma King of Lantuo Mountain were particularly slender, even a bit taller than his own, and he smiled slightly: "Why don't you follow me to Huishan? Although I am not exactly wealthy, I don't lack a luxurious bed."
This female Bodhisattva represents not only herself, but even more so the Lantuo Mountain behind her.
And Yu Liancheng is not just Murong Tonghuang; he is also inextricably linked to Beiliang and Huishan.
Who is worthy of dual cultivation with whom carries a very different meaning at this moment.
Liuzhu Bodhisattva sizes up Yu Liancheng.
Yu Liancheng, however, looks into her eyes.
Come to think of it, this female master's pair of eyes is what Yu Liancheng likes in particular.
They possess both the liveliness and curiosity of a young child, the gentleness and elegance of a noble lady, and furthermore, the profound vicissitudes belonging to forty years of time... all layered and blended together, exceptionally moving.
"Your physique is very formidable; if you dual cultivate with me, you will become a true Vajra Body, with golden blood and vibrant vitality, capable of enduring even the Heavenly Phenomenon Lightning Tribulation and passing through it safely." Liuzhu Bodhisattva opens her lips to speak in a Sanskrit tone, as if she has once again become a Demoness, enticing a mortal and letting the mortal voluntarily fall into the abyss with her.
"Oh?" Yu Liancheng replies with an indifferent tone.
"Very well." Liuzhu Bodhisattva sighs lightly, flicks her sleeves, and like a Heavenly Maiden, turns around: "You and I will certainly dual cultivate, however, it will not be today; I will wait for the right moment..."
The person has already gone far away, leaving behind only a tall and holy silhouette.
Yu Liancheng calls out from afar: "If you want to dual cultivate with me, remember to grow your hair long; I don't like bald heads, hmm, although you are quite pretty even with a bald head."
Liuzhu Bodhisattva's figure falters, she lets out a cold snort, and drifts away, vanishing from sight.
