Birds that flew at the same elevation as her challenged Gwen to a glide-off, seeing who could glide the longest. Unfortunately for the birds, Gwen could use magic to keep herself afloat, so she won the contest.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Some of the birds landed on her, needing a nice break from flying. They were centered around Kyana since she felt the most like nature to them, being an elf and all.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"We’re nearly there.\"\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>On her back, Kai was sleeping with Nadya wrapped in his arms, sleeping as well. He thought it would be a good time to get some sleep since he was lacking. Sleep wasn’t needed, but it still made him feel better, at least it felt that way.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"Finally! What are we doing here anyway?\" Amaya was ready to touch the ground and fight some monsters, but she didn’t know what this village had to do with that.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"We’re here for information, Amaya. This village was neighbors with the town that’s trapped in time, according to the map. So these people should be able to help us.\"\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"They are also the ones who keep people from entering the Town frozen in Time,\" Kai added as he woke up.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Nadya was still sleeping in his arms, so he continued to lie down and didn’t get up.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"Hold on, do you guys see that?\" Gwen’s eyesight was extremely good, and in her dragon form, it was top-tier, yet she was barely able to see what she thought she was seeing.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"What are you looking at?\" Amaya asked, using her hands as binoculars.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"It looks like clear monsters are attacking the village.\"\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"Clear monsters, as in, you can clearly see monsters attacking, ot the monsters are clear and they are attacking.\" Kai wanted to make sure he was understanding her properly.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"Monsters that appear clear are attacking the village.\" She affirmed.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"Got it.\" Kai got up this time, waking up Nadya to see what Gwen was talking about.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"Sorry, sleeping beauty, but I have to check this out.\" He kissed her head.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"Mhmm.\"\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Squinting his eyes, Kai saw what Gwen was talking about, but instead of the monsters being clear, they looked like crystals that were constantly reflecting light.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"Hmm. What the fuck is that?\"\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"Ah, Chrono-Beasts,\" Leo said, casually sitting on Gwen’s back.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"Those are Chrono-Beasts?\" Kai wasn’t even surprised that Leo was here.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"Yeah, they are basically time that’s alive. It’s hard to deal with them, well, for lower-level lifeforms. You should be fine, though. Chrono-Beasts are still extremely powerful, and they can send people to different points in time, past, present, or future.\"\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"So just anchor them to the present.\" Kai didn’t see how that was a big deal.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"Right, I can do that, huh?\"\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Kai rolled his eyes. \"The guy who created everything in existence, everyone.\"\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"Guys, those Chrono-Beasts are coming this way!\" Gwen’s wings started to flap faster as she approached the village at high speed.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"Good luck, you guys.\" Leo and Cassie left.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"Alright, team, let’s get to work! Gwen, right when the beast is about to attack, I want you to revert to your humanoid state.\"\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"Got it.\"\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"Nadya, you’re with me. It’s time for the action!\" Amaya’s claws glinted in the moonlight, and her smile showed off her murderous charm.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"Now!\"\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>The Chrono-Beast, which was around the size of a normal dragon, so smaller than Gwen, but still very large. When it opened its crystal-looking mouth to attack, Gwen reverted to her human form, and the beast missed all of them.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"Hahaha! Here I come!\" Amaya, Gwen, Kyana, and Sasha flew toward the surface like missiles about to hit their target.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"Nadya, get ready.\"\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"Yeah.\"\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Kai lunged at the chrono-beast, his attacks going right through it. He could feel something happening to his body, but then the feeling went away.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"I guess that was the time trying to fuck with me.\" Before he could fully understand what happened, he was struck by a tail and dropped a few hundred feet, but he flew back up and clobbered the beast in the mouth.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>He used the Law of time to attack the beast, which ended up working, and it lost a tooth.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>It was hard to describe what it looked like, but to Kai, the beast looked like a combination of a scorpion, a lion, and some otherworldly beast.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"Top half of a scorpion, bottom half of a lion, and the head of...I don’t even fucking know what that beast looks like.
