Chapter 15
School starts tomorrow.
At noon this day, the sky remained overcast.
The weather forecast said that for a long time to come, it would be the rainy season, so it was best to carry an umbrella when going out.
It was not at all strange for the sun to be blazing in the morning and a torrential downpour to start at noon.
Kitakami Yoru and Gabriel had lunch together outside and then returned to the apartment.
"Let me see, what else haven't I bought?"
Kitakami Yoru looked at the refrigerator stuffed to the brim and felt a sense of accomplishment for no reason.
Don't misunderstand, the refrigerator was filled with very clean ingredients, high-protein, low-fat, some fruits that promote metabolism, and high-quality carbohydrates.
"Bought the yoga mat for exercise, bought vitamins, bought joint supplements, bought a desk lamp..."
Kitakami Yoru muttered to himself while recalling.
"Oh, right, I haven't bought the books for review yet!"
Kitakami Yoru clapped his hands together, turned around, and was about to go out.
For the past few days, he had been troubled by the condition of getting into the top thirty in the grade's total score, and he hadn't been able to sleep well.
Moving out of the house was also for the sake of concentrating on his studies and losing weight.
Although he knew in his heart that the possibility was very small, Kitakami Yoru still had to try his best!
At the thought of this, Kitakami Yoru's fists clenched involuntarily, and he thought of Kasumigaoka Utaha and Sigong Kaguya with a ferocious expression!
The review books weren't sold nearby, so Kitakami Yoru took the train for two stops and found a large bookstore to buy them.
After buying them, he remembered that there were no seasonings at home, having only bought some salt and oil before.
On the way back, Kitakami Yoru found a nearby convenience store to buy them, and also bought dinner for tonight.
Not long after coming out of the convenience store, dark clouds gathered in the sky, and it began to drizzle.
Kitakami Yoru didn't have an umbrella with him, so he could only hope the rain wouldn't get heavier and ran quickly toward the station.
Perhaps he was quite unlucky, as the rain intensified on the way.
There was nowhere to hide from the rain nearby, so Kitakami Yoru had to hide under the trees planted along the road.
"This is just my rotten luck~"
Kitakami Yoru crouched under the tree and shrank back; the fine raindrops were slanted by the wind and kept hitting him.
His clothes were damp and spotted because of this, and he felt chilly wearing them, so he wanted to find a bigger tree to hide from the rain, but looked left and right without finding a suitable one.
Instead, he saw a black cat hiding on the tree next to him.
The sky was dark and it was raining, so he wouldn't have noticed it if he hadn't looked carefully.
"Alright!"
Kitakami Yoru decided to go over, protected the books in his arms, and rushed over quickly.
Arriving under this tree, he looked up at the black cat.
Its build was very round, its face and ears were also round, and its fur was bright and soft, though it was mixed with a lot of dirt.
Its whole body was as black as ink, and its eyes were amber; it stared with large eyes, looking very imposing!
"It really looks like me!"
Kitakami Yoru looked at his own belly and couldn't help but smile.
This round black cat was also cautiously watching Kitakami Yoru.
Kitakami Yoru decided to trick this fat cat that was just like him into coming down so he could get a good look at it.
And so, he took out the dinner he had bought at the convenience store.
It was a box of fresh sushi.
Taking out the salmon slices inside, Kitakami Yoru held them in his hand and kept shaking them, trying to lure the little black cat.
The black cat stood up from its nest, which looked like a large bird's nest that it had occupied as its own.
Its large amber eyes moved back and forth following the salmon slice.
"Come down, salmon slice..." Kitakami Yoru tried hard to stand on tiptoe and held the salmon slice high.
Unfortunately, the black cat was very cautious; it meowed twice and had no intention of coming down.
"Phew~"
Kitakami Yoru felt a bit discouraged and simply threw the salmon slice onto the lunch box.
He decided he would climb the tree!
The tree wasn't very tall, and climbing it shouldn't be a very difficult task.
However, it was his first time climbing a tree, and he was at this weight.
Fortunately, there was no one around, otherwise, if they saw Kitakami Yoru hugging the tree and struggling to climb, they would definitely let their imagination run wild!
After trying several times, he finally managed to kick his way up, his hands tightly hugging the trunk.
But immediately, due to exhaustion, he fell to the bottom of the tree on his butt.
"Meow meow~"
The black cat on the tree meowed twice, as if mocking Kitakami Yoru for overestimating his own strength, and then jumped down.
It landed perfectly and swiftly snatched up the salmon slice.
The next second.
"Gotcha~"
Kitakami Yoru shouted excitedly; he quickly grabbed the black cat by the scruff of its neck.
The black cat struggled for a moment, turned its head to look at Kitakami Yoru, and then actually stopped.
Seeing that it wasn't struggling, Kitakami Yoru patted its head.
He also discovered that this was a female cat, and there was a small name tag on its neck, hidden in its fur.
"This must be someone's pet cat that ran away and became a stray."
"No wonder it's not very afraid of people."
Holding the black cat in his arms, Kitakami Yoru was about to check the name tag.
Behind him, however, came a young girl's slightly immature and gentle greeting.
Kitakami Yoru was startled, twisted his waist with difficulty to look back, and discovered a cute girl in casual clothes.
She was standing right behind him.
In her hand, she held an umbrella and a long net.

15: I really envy Senior Kasumigaoka Utaha
Standing in front of him was a cute girl with a bob cut, wearing simple casual clothes, holding an umbrella and a net in her hands.
"Oh, is this your cat?" Kitakami Yoru was stunned for a moment and handed the little fat cat in his hands to the girl in front of him.
Seeing that the other person was holding a net, Kitakami Yoru subconsciously assumed that the black cat in his arms was hers.
"It's not my cat. Since Kitakami-san saved it, you should handle it, Kitakami-san." There was no fluctuation in the expression on Kato Megumi's face.
However, this sentence made Kitakami Yoru freeze, and he blurted out directly: "How do you know my name is Kitakami? Classmate?"
Kitakami Yoru was very certain that he had never seen this cute girl in front of him before!
"Because... during the field trip a few days ago, I was assigned to the same group as Kitakami-san." Kato Megumi said calmly.
"Isn't that..." Kitakami Yoru was stunned.
A classmate from the field trip—doesn't that mean everyone knows that he stole Kasumigaoka Utaha's stockings and panties?
Kitakami Yoru lowered his head, not wanting to talk anymore, and handed the black cat in his arms out again: "Then you discovered this black cat first, right? Do you really not want it?"
"I don't want it. Someone in my family is allergic to cat fur; I just wanted to save this black cat." Kato Megumi shook her head gently.
The rain began to intensify.
Kitakami Yoru didn't answer; he lowered his head and hugged the fat black cat in his arms tightly.
Since she didn't want it, he would adopt it.
Living alone is also very lonely.
He didn't have any friends either, so raising a little fat cat that was as round as him would be quite nice.
The black cat was held tightly by Kitakami Yoru and didn't continue to struggle, but its pair of amber eyes were rolling around, filled with deep wariness.
