Chapter 43

Arriving in front of a classroom in the corner of the top floor of the Club Building.

“It’s inside.” Hiratsuka Shizuka said, looking at Kitakami Yoru.

“What club is this?” Kitakami Yoru looked around curiously.

Doesn't it even have a club nameplate?

At this time, Hiratsuka Shizuka knocked gently on the door of the Service Club.

Inside the Service Club.

Part of the space was piled with old desks and chairs.

The other part was cleaned spotlessly, with a brand-new long table placed there.

Yukinoshita Yukino was quietly flipping through the book in her hand, while Yuigahama Yui was looking at her phone, waiting boredly.

The door was knocked.

“Yukino-chan, it’s a request from Hiratsuka-sensei!”

Yuigahama Yui stood up abruptly and said to Yukinoshita Yukino with some anticipation.

Although Yuigahama Yui already knew the content of the request, it had nothing to do with her.

“Please come in.” Yukinoshita Yukino kept her expression flat and closed the book in her hand.

The next second, the door was pulled open.

Hiratsuka Shizuka walked in with a smile on her face.

“Hiratsuka-sensei.” Yuigahama Yui greeted.

“Hiratsuka-sensei, you finally learned to knock...”

Yukinoshita Yukino sighed first, then greeted Hiratsuka Shizuka.

“Yukinoshita, I’ve brought the person.”

Hiratsuka Shizuka scanned the Service Club, met Yukinoshita Yukino’s gaze, and felt inexplicably lacking in confidence.

Her believing in Kitakami Yoru didn't mean Yukinoshita Yukino believed in Kitakami Yoru.

It would probably take some effort to persuade Yukinoshita.

Hiratsuka Shizuka thought, turning back to signal Kitakami Yoru to come in.

“Excuse me.”

Kitakami Yoru’s voice sounded first, then he flashed out and walked into the Service Club.

“Eh, Kitakami-san?!” Yuigahama Yui said, slightly dazed as she saw Kitakami Yoru walk in.

“Yuigahama-san.”

“Yuki? Yuki...noshita?”

Kitakami Yoru walked in, first seeing Yuigahama Yui and greeting her.

Then, the moment he saw Yukinoshita, he blurted out subconsciously.

“We meet again, Peeping Tom-san.”

Yukinoshita Yukino’s reaction was only slightly surprised, and she immediately returned to normal, looking up at Hiratsuka Shizuka:

“Is this your request, Hiratsuka-sensei, to let me help him improve his grades?”

As the words fell.

Hiratsuka Shizuka was directly stunned: “Yukinoshita, you two know each other?”

40: Yes, Yukinoshita-sensei

Yuigahama Yui also cast a curious gaze, constantly scanning back and forth between Kitakami Yoru and Yukinoshita Yukino.

“We just met not long ago.” Yukinoshita Yukino nodded faintly at Hiratsuka Shizuka.

She changed her form of address for Kitakami Yoru.

Hiratsuka Shizuka didn't know what Yukinoshita Yukino was thinking.

“Yukino-chan, why do you call Kitakami-san a Peeping Tom?”

Yuigahama Yui asked curiously.

“It’s nothing.”

“I’ll take this request, Hiratsuka-sensei.”

Yukinoshita Yukino had no intention of revealing her privacy, interrupting Yuigahama Yui’s questioning.

“Then... then I’ll leave it to you; his grades are quite poor.” Hiratsuka Shizuka glanced at Kitakami Yoru, who couldn't get a word in beside her.

“As long as he is obedient enough and follows my study arrangements.” Yukinoshita Yukino answered very confidently.

As a second-year student at Shuchiin, her deviation value was among the best.

Her grades were always in the first tier, often competing with Shirogane Miyuki, Shinomiya Kaguya, and others for the top total score.

Usually, they had their own wins and losses.

But she had never dropped out of the top three!

Hearing this, Hiratsuka Shizuka looked at Kitakami Yoru, feeling relieved in her heart.

She had thought she would have to spend some effort persuading Yukinoshita Yukino.

She hadn't expected that Yukinoshita Yukino and Kitakami Yoru already knew each other, even if they weren't very familiar.

Also, what was this about a Peeping Tom?

Hiratsuka Shizuka had wanted to ask before, but now she tactfully dismissed the idea.

“I will work hard.” Kitakami Yoru finally spoke.

“Then I’m leaving, don't let down my good intentions.”

Hiratsuka Shizuka patted Kitakami Yoru’s shoulder with relief and said with a smile.

“Alright, you sit down first.” Yukinoshita Yukino gestured for Kitakami Yoru to find a chair and sit down.

“I’ll help you.”

Yuigahama Yui took the lead, turned around to move a clean chair, and placed it in front of the long table.

“Thanks for that day, Kitakami-san, for stopping my puppy.” Yuigahama Yui continued.

“It was just hungry and came over to beg for food.” Kitakami Yoru shook his head.

Hiratsuka Shizuka waved at Yukinoshita Yukino and left the Service Club.

The door closed, and the Service Club fell into silence.

“Heehee, Sable just likes to break free from the leash and run around; if you hadn't attracted it, I would have been looking for a long time.” Yuigahama Yui smiled embarrassedly.

“Ahem, are you done talking?” Yukinoshita Yukino moved her chair and sat opposite Kitakami Yoru.

As soon as she spoke, Yuigahama Yui immediately showed an apologetic smile and closed her mouth.

“First, tell me how your grades are and which subjects you are good at.”

Yukinoshita Yukino didn't do anything extra, looking at the chubby Kitakami Yoru while asking directly to the point.

Kitakami Yoru answered truthfully.

He knew his grades were very poor, almost at the bottom; he was only slightly better at Japanese and Geography, occasionally passing.

Passing here in Japan wasn't based on the test score, but half of the class average.

For example, if the class average was 80.

Anything over 40 was a pass.

Different schools had different standards, but the basic difference wasn't large.

Getting the answer, Yukinoshita Yukino’s brows twitched slightly, and she fell into deep thought.

Kitakami Yoru and Yuigahama Yui watched for a while, exchanged a tacit look, and kept quiet.

Subsequently, Yukinoshita Yukino gave Kitakami Yoru a few questions, wrote them on paper, and pushed them to Kitakami Yoru to answer.

In the Service Club, only the sound of Kitakami Yoru’s pen tip occasionally scratching across the paper remained.

Someone was answering questions very slowly, so Yukinoshita Yukino reopened the book in her hand, Natsume Soseki’s *I Am a Cat*.

“Um... Yukino-chan, can I ask you how you know Kitakami-san?” Yuigahama Yui, unable to suppress her curiosity, leaned close to Yukinoshita Yukino and asked in a low voice.

It was hard for her to imagine.

One was a notorious dead-otaku, and the other was the school’s top ice beauty, Yukinoshita Yukino, knowing each other.

“At the pet clinic, the place where I worked part-time during summer and winter breaks.” Yukinoshita Yukino secretly glanced at Kitakami Yoru, feeling inexplicably ashamed and angry.

She had been hugging the other person’s cat, inhaling and rubbing against it, saying things like “Wow, so cute.”

It had all been seen.
