Chapter 416: Ye Xi

~7 min read 1,318 words

"You want to use force?" The silver-haired woman blinked, as if unable to believe what she had just heard.

But at that moment, Wang Yu's eyes flashed with a faint white light, and a terrifying mental force—ten times stronger than before—suddenly erupted from between his brows.

"Boom."

The silver-haired woman felt the air around her tighten; immense pressure crushed in from all directions, causing her slender frame to tremble, utterly immobilized in her chair.

This time, Wang Yu did not use his Alchemy Touch ability—he simply released a portion of his Star Mental Force.

Since returning to Blue Star, he had discovered that although his spiritual sense was heavily suppressed here, the Star Mental Force—which had been suppressed in the cultivation world—had gained the same terrifying amplification as Alchemy Touch.

The near-solid mental pressure bore down directly on the silver-haired woman, leaving her with not the slightest ability to resist.

"Mr. Kelly."

The white wolf beside her gasped in shock and tried to rise to intervene, but Wang Yu merely glanced sideways—and another wave of terrifying mental pressure slammed onto the wolf.

The middle-aged man "thudded" back into his chair, his body likewise frozen in place.

"Miss Kelly, can you now tell me everything you know?"

"You should know that among mental ability users, we all master techniques that force truth from the mind—but afterward, we cannot guarantee the subject won't suffer mental collapse," Wang Yu said, his face expressionless as he stared at the silver-haired woman.

Trapped in her chair, her mental energy completely suppressed, the silver-haired woman's face flushed with shame and fury as she spat out, "Madman," then immediately clamped her lips shut.

"It seems Miss Kelly has made her choice," Wang Yu's gaze turned cold, his mind rapidly scanning through several mind-control spells he had learned in the cultivation world.

But at that moment, the silver-haired woman suddenly screamed, "Black Knight!"

"Boom!" The wooden door of the private room exploded outward as a massive black shadow surged in, charging straight for Wang Yu, seated in his chair.

Wang Yu's expression darkened; a vast wave of mental force slammed directly toward the oncoming shadow.

But the next instant, his face changed—the massive shadow felt no pressure at all, and blurred forward in an instant.

A gleaming, thick black arm shot out like lightning, snatching viciously for Wang Yu's skull—as if ready to crush it in one grip.

"Thud."

A pale green barrier flickered across Wang Yu's body; the black arm struck it and was violently repelled.

Simultaneously, he raised a hand, flicked a finger—and a wisp of flame shot out instantly.

"Roar!"

The flame struck the massive shadow and erupted into a blazing inferno.

Amid the rolling fire, the massive shadow was blasted backward several steps before regaining its footing.

Only then did Wang Yu clearly see the shadow's true form: a two-meter-tall black exosuit.

The exosuit looked crude: a triangular head, cylindrical torso, thick and rounded limbs; within a narrow slit on its faceplate, two flickering flames glowed faintly.

Wang Yu's spiritual sense swept swiftly over the exosuit—and his face showed surprise.

The crude exosuit was empty inside—no pilot. It wasn't a machine at all, but a metal golem, its interior pulsing with strange white light patterns.

At first glance, these patterns resembled cultivation-world inscription runes—but upon closer spiritual scrutiny, they were clearly something entirely different.

These patterns contained intricate geometric shapes and unfamiliar alien script, like tiny dancing figures writhing in motion.

More startling still: at the center of a strange pattern on the golem's chest, embedded firmly, was a black crystal the size of a finger.

The crystal looked identical to the one on the silver ring—but the energy it emitted was far weaker, less than one percent of the ring's crystal.

In this brief delay, the metal golem charged forward again, arms swinging fiercely.

Wang Yu grunted, uninterested in wasting spells on a golem. He tapped his brow with one finger—a silver light spiraled out, and before him appeared a terrifying white skeleton.

The skeleton wore thick bone armor, each hand gripping a sharp bone blade. As soon as it materialized, it swung both blades to meet the metal golem.

"Clang! Clang! Crack!" The clash of combat echoed throughout the private room.

The golem's black shell was made of unknown material; even bone blades of mid-grade magical weapon caliber left only shallow scratches on its limbs and torso, unable to inflict real damage.

Likewise, the White Bone Demon's body was as hard as iron—the golem's iron fists pounded its frame without leaving a single mark.

This sight left the silver-haired girl and the white wolf gaping in stunned silence.

Wang Yu frowned, then reached out with one hand—silver light curled around his palm, and a white bone banner with a black flag appeared in his grip.

"Black Knight, Overheat Mode."

The silver-haired girl screamed sharply, a hint of madness flickering across her face.

As if understanding, the metal golem flipped backward, its head jerking—two flames within its faceplate erupted into blinding red light; white steam gushed from its joints and skull, while countless circular light rings materialized across its body, rapidly shifting from white to red before vanishing in a flash, all retreating into its massive frame.

The golem's black body instantly turned crimson and glowed with intense heat, radiating waves of scorching thermal energy.

"Hum… hum…" Two green light blades, each several feet long, materialized in its iron hands, emitting piercing shrieks that made the ears ache.

Wang Yu's face darkened; he flicked his wrist, readying to swing the banner.

At that moment, a stranger's voice suddenly filled the room:

"Black Knight, deactivate Overheat Mode. Enter cooldown state."

The moment the words were spoken, a deep rumble echoed within the giant metal golem. Its arms dropped, the light blades vanished, its massive body crouched slightly, its crimson surface rapidly cooling back to its original black hue.

"Grandfather."

The silver-haired girl, hearing the voice, cried out joyfully.

At the same time, Wang Yu's gaze turned toward the ruined doorway.

There, a black-robed black-haired boy had appeared—no more than fifteen or sixteen, with delicate features, clear eyes, and the unassuming look of an ordinary Chinese teenager.

"Ethnic Chinese? Are you Miss Kelly's grandfather?" Wang Yu asked slowly, staring at the black-haired boy by the door.

"Your earlier commotion was too loud. Had I not cast a barrier to shield this room, you'd have drawn the attention of ordinary people," the black-haired boy said with a smile, snapping his fingers casually toward the silver-haired girl.

"Boom."

An invisible wave exploded in the air above her—the oppressive mental pressure, thick as storm clouds, vanished instantly, the space returning to normal.

Wang Yu's expression shifted slightly.

The man's mental force was incredibly strong—nearly equal to his own.

The silver-haired woman, now freed, leapt up from her chair joyfully, hurried to the boy's side, and blurted:

"Grandfather, you're finally here! Teach this guy a lesson—make him pay for what he did!"

"Teach him? He's already held back. Otherwise, a four-star mentalist could have killed you with just a glance."

"And who told you to sneak Black Knight out? Didn't I order you to stay put? Who gave you permission to take Black Knight outside?" The black-haired boy glared at Kelly, clearly annoyed.

"He's a four-star mentalist?" The silver-haired girl, who had been about to pout, froze, eyes wide. She instinctively turned back to Wang Yu, her face filled with disbelief.

Wang Yu's expression remained unchanged; he merely tightened his grip on the bone banner, saying nothing.

Instead, the black-haired boy across from him bowed slightly, then spoke calmly:

"Greetings, great four-star mentalist. Allow me to introduce myself: I am Ye Xi, First-Class Baron of the Kleri Empire, and Special Envoy of the Seventeenth Fleet of the Southern Crystal Wall Defense Zone. I extend my respects."

"Kleri! You're aliens!" Wang Yu's pupils contracted sharply at the words.
