Chapter 435: Pangu Opens Heaven
Hearing Minister Li ask this, Lei Sa and Chen Boshi exchanged glances before answering hesitantly:
"Minister, it's not that I won't answer you—since Chen has decided to activate the 'Council' system, he is the most suitable person to explain these matters."
As leader of the Ark team, I must notify the others about this immediately.
But I must say that although Dr. Chen does have the authority to activate the 'Council' system, I still don't believe the vote will pass.
Conversely, if Chen, as the Ark team's 'Helmsman,' fails to secure approval for this vote, he will lose his 'Helmsman' status and be forcibly shut down, stripped of his personal auxiliary brain, and expelled from the team, becoming truly ordinary."
"Dr. Chen, is this true?" Minister Li's face showed surprise.
"Yes, but Minister, rest assured—I wouldn't initiate this vote unless I had some confidence in its outcome."
"Lei Sa, according to protocol, during the three days after I activate the 'Council' system, every team member's personal auxiliary brain will gain temporary 'independence.' You 'masters' will have three days to persuade your own auxiliary brains to influence this vote as you deem correct." Chen Boshi said calmly to Mr. Lei Sa.
"Chen, if all auxiliary brains vote yes in the 'Council' system for the Opening Heaven plan, then it means we 'masters' may all be wrong—if so, even if we divert half our resources to the Opening Heaven plan, I won't object."
"Then, Minister, I'll take my leave." Lei Sa still shook his head, bowed to Minister Li, and hurriedly left the room.
"Doctor, can you now explain this to me properly?" The old man in Tang attire looked at Chen Boshi and asked slowly.
"Of course. Although the subsequent phases of the Saitan Project will involve the Ark team and the British Commonwealth, China is unquestionably the true core of this project, since the humans in the Saitan world are nearly identical to the Chinese." Chen Boshi nodded in reply.
"Then let's start with the Opening Heaven plan—I'm curious what exactly this plan is, and why your future Blue Star abandoned it?" Minister Li stared at Chen Boshi, his expression grave.
"The Opening Heaven plan, as the name suggests, is to forge a new world for the people of Blue Star as an escape route."
"The core of the plan lies in first finding a 'Pangu,' for only Pangu can open heaven and cleave earth—and 'No. 1' at the base is the 'Pangu' I've been searching for, because I suspect he possesses the ability to shuttle repeatedly between the Saitan world. If so…" Chen Boshi paused to consider, then began speaking slowly.
Minister Li listened intently, his expression gradually turning to profound astonishment.
…
Xierde, west of Carlow Town.
Wang Yu stood atop a small mound some distance from the road, one hand holding a bone banner, his face pale as he stared at the massive crater ahead.
The two opposing groups, who had moments before been locked in tense confrontation, had somehow ceased fighting—the airborne 'Valiant' and the winged boy had both landed.
Even after a brief exchange, the black-clad woman Mulan moved her arm and tossed the captive 'earthling' to the other side.
Seeing this, Wang Yu's gaze sharpened, but he said nothing.
For in the next instant, a thick black mist rolled along the road at incredible speed, and before the eyes of all present, coalesced into seven terrifying, bone-white skeletons.
These skeletons wore thick bony armor studded with spikes; their bodies bore indented bullet marks, jagged charred cracks, and even partial limb loss.
The bone swords and knives they held were similarly scarred with fractures, as if they had all endured repeated bombardment by modern weaponry.
Almost simultaneously, dust erupted from the distant road as another 'battle-scarred' convoy sped toward them, finally halting at the crater's edge. Seventeen or eighteen fully armed personnel in camouflage uniforms disembarked.
Helena coldly glanced Wang Yu's way, then waved her hand, ordering one of her men to carry the still-unconscious 'earthling' onto a vehicle.
The convoy turned around and sped off along the road they'd come from.
"No. 1, did you summon these things?" Just as Wang Yu exhaled in relief, a withered voice sounded beside him, filled with deep curiosity.
Wang Yu turned sharply and saw the old man, 'Master,' standing just four or five meters away, arms clasped behind his back, studying the seven bone skeletons with interest.
When had this 'Master' arrived? With his powerful spiritual sense, how had he not sensed it?
Wang Yu's heart tightened, but his expression remained calm as he replied:
"Old sir, these are puppets—but they are also summoned by me."
As he spoke, Wang Yu shook his bone banner, and thick black mist surged forth, instantly engulfing him and the seven skeletons, forming a dense black fog.
When the mist cleared again, only Wang Yu remained standing there.
The seven bone skeletons were gone—and so was the bone banner in his hand.
He had used the yin energy as cover, employing the silver talisman in his spiritual sea to retrieve both.
This spectacle left the old man marveling.
At that moment, a whistling sound came from afar—the 'Valiant' had flown low overhead, carrying the black-clad woman Mulan on his feet.
"Thud."
Mulan released her grip and landed squarely before Wang Yu on the mound, her cold gaze sweeping over his face before she spoke directly:
"No. 1, our Wu Shen squad has been ordered to escort you back to China. Although Britain has temporarily abandoned its pursuit of you under our pressure, you should still leave this place as soon as possible. But before that, I must confirm your identity again."
"Confirm my identity?" Wang Yu blinked in surprise.
Before he could react, Mulan's arm moved—and the long blade strapped to her back had somehow slipped from its sheath into her hand.
A flash of cold light!
Wang Yu stood motionless, but felt a chill on the back of his hand. Instinctively lifting his arm, he saw a shallow, inch-long cut oozing a thin line of blood.
Mulan pulled out a device resembling a smartphone and used its antenna-like rounded tip to dab a drop of Wang Yu's blood.
"Ding-ding-ding."
The device emitted a series of alerts; after glancing at its screen, Mulan smiled slightly and said:
"Confirmed. You are indeed No. 1."
"Heh, Mulan, you're overthinking it.
This guy's abilities are immense—he survived an orbital laser cannon strike unscathed. How could he be an impostor? Even you or I wouldn't have made it." The hovering 'Valiant' chuckled.
The old man 'Master' merely smiled silently.
"Enough talk. We must relocate immediately.
No. 1, we left several portable flight packs at the gas station over there—head there now and fly out by air straight to the nearest port. Our submarine will meet us offshore." Mulan gave her orders calmly.
Among the three members of the Wu Shen squad, the black-clad woman Mulan was clearly in command!
