Chapter 472: Spirit Beast Ascension

~6 min read 1,165 words

As Wang Yu finished speaking, countless weapon designs, dense spiritual runes, and images of numerous weapons from the Blue Star world flashed rapidly across the golden mechanical funnel on the massive screen, even revealing mechs never seen before and bizarre, futuristic weapons.

This startled Wang Yu slightly.

What is going on?

Is this one of the changes after the system reset?

Did it integrate some current Blue Star research findings, or were certain permissions secretly upgraded, unlocking items already present in the system’s database?

As his thoughts raced with confusion, a mechanical system voice echoed through the hall:

“Stored inference data exceeds 50%. Can now design second-rank life weapon schematics. Perfect inference probability: 81%. Inference failure probability: 7%. Substandard inference probability: 12%.”

After the golden mechanical funnel flipped, an 81% symbol appeared prominently—far higher than the probability when inferring the unnamed auxiliary technique.

Seeing this perfect inference probability, Wang Yu raised an eyebrow but did not begin immediately. Instead, he reached out with one hand toward the empty air beside his seat.

Instantly, a translucent white keyboard phantom materialized.

Wang Yu placed his palm upon the phantom keyboard, spreading his fingers across it, then closed his eyes.

On the screen, within the funnel’s pattern, a pale white book appeared, its cover bearing three large characters: “Lian Yue Jue.” After the book flipped once, it vanished, and lines of text rapidly surfaced—it was a body cultivation technique.

Within a few breaths, the entire scripture’s cultivation incantation was fully input. Yet the funnel’s image flickered again, and a blue book appeared.

Its surface bore the characters “Chen Shui Gong.” Related text soon appeared on the screen, then swiftly switched to another secret technique titled “Nei Mai Shu…”

In just over ten minutes, Wang Yu had, through mental infusion, uploaded sixty to seventy books into the system.

These were all cultivation techniques and secret arts submitted by the hundreds of disciples of Misan Sect.

No wonder this was the Eastern Wastelands—though most of these cultivation texts were already known to Wang Yu, many contained entirely new methods unlike those in the Southern Continent’s cultivation world.

Even though all were Qi Condensation-level teachings, and merely the most common scriptures circulating among hermits, they greatly enriched Wang Yu’s collection.

After inputting the final Misan Sect book, Wang Yu removed his hand from the keyboard and spoke again to the hall:

“Tai Yuan, infer the second-rank life weapon schematic. Design focus: maximize the power of Chi Yang Da Fa. Use fire-blade runes as primary markings. Use second-rank Jing Yan Tong as the main material. Weapon type: offense-oriented, defense secondary.”

The mechanical funnel on the massive screen rolled, revealing an 82% symbol.

“Stored inference data exceeds 50%. Can now infer second-rank life weapon schematic. Perfect inference probability: 82%. Inference failure probability: 6%. Substandard inference probability: 12%.”

This time, the perfect inference probability had increased by only one percent.

Wang Yu, seeing this, felt no surprise.

The techniques and secret arts he had input this time were all Qi Condensation-level, and many shared overlapping content. That the probability increased by even one percent was due to their origin in the Eastern Wastelands.

If he had used Qi Condensation texts from Wu State or the other three Southern Continent nations, even inputting a hundred more might not have raised the probability by a single percent.

Thinking this, Wang Yu no longer hesitated and gave another order:

“Tai Yuan, begin inference of the life weapon.”

“Inference permission check in progress… Blue Star Chinese citizen Ding Yu, Blue Star Alliance Special Reserve, Interstellar Tactical Mech Squad member, ID GLX, special authorization level: none, temporary inference permission: 3 uses, inference conditions met. Official inference initiated. Estimated duration: two months, four hours, eighteen minutes, three seconds…”

The hall echoed with the mechanical, emotionless voice.

Over two months—this duration was even longer than the inference time for the unnamed auxiliary incantation.

Though Wang Yu had anticipated this, his brow still furrowed slightly. He silently murmured, “Exit.”

The next instant, white light swirled, and he reappeared in his cultivation chamber.

He immediately closed his eyes slightly and began silently contemplating the esoteric techniques he had previously selected.

Most of these were techniques that appeared weak in power but had unique effects under certain circumstances—like the minor secret arts he had used when returning to the Blue Star.

About ten days later.

Beneath dozens of zhang of earth beneath the black fortress.

Blocks of fist-sized fire-crystal ore were piled together, covering nearly a hundred square zhang, continuously emitting thin red mist.

Around these fire-crystal ores, over a dozen banners were planted, faintly forming a white light barrier that prevented the pale red mist from dispersing, directing it upward toward a specific cultivation chamber.

Meanwhile, due to a spiritual gathering array, the black fortress had drawn in nearly half the island’s heavenly and earthly spiritual energy, continuously channeling it to two distinct locations within the fortress.

One location was the underground chamber where Wang Yu regularly cultivated.

The other was a vast pond at the center of the fortress’s ground level.

Inside the pond, two iron-headed crocodiles—large and small—were engaged in different actions.

The white, dragon-like small beast lay on the pond’s edge, gazing upward at the bright, cold moon, inhaling and exhaling spiritual energy that naturally drifted near it. A faint white mist curled around its body, its back scales shimmering like ice carved from crystal.

The much larger black-green iron-headed crocodile lay on the opposite side of the pond, its front piled high with cut, bloody, skinned beast meat. It opened its massive mouth and devoured the chunks one by one, swallowing them whole, skin, bone, and all.

Each time it swallowed a piece, its black-green eyes narrowed slightly, its expression one of clear delight.

Its belly swelled visibly.

When the iron-headed crocodile, Bai Lin, Mianqiang swallowed one more chunk nearly the size of its head, it rolled over onto its back, exposing its bloated belly where it lay.

Bai Li, across the pond, seemed to sense something. She unconsciously glanced at her companion, her gaze carrying a hint of anthropomorphic disdain.

But the next instant, the white beast’s gaze suddenly sharpened. She lifted her head toward the crescent moon above, then opened her mouth and let out a long, dragon-like roar. White water mist surged violently across her body, and she rose involuntarily into the air, circling and dancing hundreds of meters above.

The pond water below, influenced by some mysterious force, churned wildly in response.

At the same time, a massive dark cloud drifted over the black fortress, obscuring most of the moon. The air rapidly grew damp, and fierce winds began to howl.

The wind was bitterly cold, cutting like knives against the skin.

“Puh.”

A young man in a yellow robe silently materialized in the air beside the pond, carried by the icy gust. He looked up at the white beast’s phenomenon, his face filled with astonishment and delight, murmuring softly:

“Little White, you’re finally ascending.”
